Absolute worse experience of my life! Went and inquired about training and was able to speak to a trainer. I explained all the problem areas with my dog. I was assured that after paying for classes we will see results soon. I went ahead and paid in full that day. I was scheduled for training a month later. That date was today, we walked in and already my dogs problem areas showed! We tried to control her as best we knew, but we were in training because we NEED help! Well after 5 minutes the manager Vee (Veronica) employee number 4 walks out with a pissed off face full of attitude and hands a form to the trainer, not even acknowledging myself or my husband. The trainer then directs us out to let us know we have to seek a trainer with a college degree because Petco cannot help us. They didn't even give my dog 7 minutes! Ridiculous! read more

Saturday my standard poodle had a prescheduled grooming appt., Oct 7th at 11:00am with his groomer, Brittany. I made the appointment at the end of August. Brittany had groomed Jackson two other times and was recommended from my sister, who also has a poodle. I live in Irvine so it is a good distance to travel for grooming. When I got there the person at the front desk told me Brittany was not going to be in until 1pm and that Jackson's appt. had been cancelled!! The manager called Brittany and Brittany told her that I left the appt tentative when I scheduled with "her"...STOP right there...I did not schedule the appt. with Brittany, I scheduled it with the same person that greeted me at the front desk for this appt; and she verified that I did (she is the real hero in all this)!!. I was disappointed that Brittany cancelled my appt. and angry that she told a bold face lie!! Clearly she had better things to do and somehow "conveniently" Jackson's appt. got cancelled. They offered for me to reschedule and have a free groom but NO THANKS! not interested in Brittany continuing to be Jackson's groomer if she is going to lie and if I have to have a new groomer, I will just find a Petco in Irvine area and pray I have a better experience. read more

Very disappointed in the few changes that have been made to the grooming department during this COVID-19. Fortunately they are offering grooming services and they do a great job with the pets. I love that you can see through the glass and watch every step unlike Petsmart. I am disappointed because I called and provided all of my info over the phone as a new customer that way I did not have to be in their facility for long and they only took a portion of the info. I let the groomer know that I did not want to be in their facility long and she reassured me all info was taken. Upon arrival I was asked for additional info, no face masks, no gloves and they did not abide by their 1 family at a time in the small area that they had promised. They do not take payments over the phone and you have to go to the cashier still. They do not allow emailed version of the rabies shots but screen shots on your cell, the lady held my cell phone for a while, again no gloves. They ladies were not in compliance of the 6 foot distance with each other at their own office. read more

This Petco is clean and very easy to shop in. I have been into a few others and they smell horrible. I go there for tropical fish and dog food. The manager Cristal is very nice and helpful every time I go in. The other manager Nick will order any fish I ask him to get and this is the only place I go now. Not always the lowest prices on fish but very good quality and they are very knowledgeable. read more

Was very unhappy to see they replaced their perfectly fine treat bar that had tons of selection and decent price to a treat bar that had 4 choices and went up $2/lb! I'll go the extra distance to Montclair who still has the old kind. read more

grooming at petco : i took my puppy to get her nails trim, also face trim and in between her paws. worse experience!!! they sat her on top of dog hair they just finished shaving! i had to ask them to clean the table and they ignored me. her face trim was uneven. i got home saw she had flees . and i knew she had got them there! they also burned her paws. i then took her to petsmart to get fully groomed and flees removed. (fathima was the groomer) she was returned to me the exact way i was expecting .! clean ,even hair cut and no flees(sense she had got them at petco) . once again, petco was just the worse experience. read more

Now I should start by saying I live less then 3 minutes away from this petco so convince is a HUGE role in my business with this location. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a snake who was adopted at this location years ago and was in bad condition when I bought him.(stay away from their reptiles) I am also fostering a mother pitbull and her 7 puppies. Heather and the female with short blonde/ blue hair props to you two. I appreciate all the helpful answers and great customer service! They are always happy to greet whichever of my 3 dogs I bring in with me. You girls rock! Now when they are not working...it's very hard to find someone to answer questions or even check you out and I don't even want to get into the countless rude interactions I've had here. Now with that said I am able to get what I need without wasting a lot of gas. If I didn't have so many petco pals card discounts it wouldn't be worth it. Pretty good selection, adequately clean. My dogs go through toys enough the 2 for 5 toys are my savior. Hopefully we could get some more employees that enjoy working and enjoy the company of all animals. read more

I bought my hamster from here and 20 days later it died. I went back to petco and they said to bring the dead body in because they did not believe me. They also gave me a lot attitude, and accused me of killing the hamster. These people are the most idiotic people you could ever meet. Is it my fault that those stupid people bunch all the hamsters together in one small fish tank? Which gets all the hamsters infested with mites and diseases? These people are bunch of idiots. Went to get some new toys and treats with my new puppy and my 81 year old father yesterday. When I got to the storre it was actually very well stocked and had some cool goodies for pets. After choosing a harness I went to check out, thats where good met evil. The clerk which I will leave nameless, but looked like LISA.oops. Asked if I had a Petco card, I replied 'no'. she then blurted out my total-and I said it was on sale for $ 5.00 less and she said well you don't have a PC card. (thinking to myself why did'nt she offer me a card) so I asked her how do I get one? O-she said just fill out this application and I'll give you the discounted price, with no one waiting in line she moved me to the next register tore the app in half and said fill it out. After filling it out I then took my purchase a proceeded to the parking lot, my Dad and pooch were still shopping so I returned inwhich my Dad reminded me that my pooch needed shampoo and a new chew toy. So I went to check out again when said clerk told me I forgot my card-(again in my head I thought why did'nt you hand me the card) so while I was getting my monies out my Dad asked her to put the harness in the same bag with the other items and much to my surprise Lisa slap the top of the bag like a command. NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!! Well my Dad walked out and I told her that not only is my Dad 81 but he is blind in one eye, She said sorry i did'nt know he was blind. I raised my voice and said that her behavior slapping the bag was very inappropiate and it did'nt matter if she did not know he was blind--81 year old men dont have a obvious look of youth---what happen to good old kindness/old customer service. I was so pissed. Just thought I'd get the lack of customer service and common sense that Petco lets thier employees give while taking your hard earned money. I wrote Petco but still have no response--Guess they don't give a shit either. read more

The Petco in Chino is awful. The aisles are almost too small for a cart, the displays block your path of travel, they have NO selection in the fish department , and there always seems to be only one checker--who may or may not be anywhere around the checkout register. read more

The manager here was really helpful in assisting me in getting the right collar to help train my dog not to pull. The cashier however was the exact opposite, recommending I get a harness for a husky. Which would only inspire my dog to pull more. All in all a great experience though. read more

I will start off by saying this is by far the best one that I have been to you and I give all credit to Veronica . every other Petsmart and Petco that I have been to employees always seem to be real short and not very helpful. Veronica took her time in explaining every possible aspect of my fish tank she explained why things happen when they happen she also gave me different remedies I could use even if it involved not purchasing anything from their store. she was very thorough and explaining what kind of fish I can throw in my tank with my pre existing fish despite her advice to look online and do further research I feel that I am very comfortable with the knowledge I have walked out with. I want to thank this establishment for hiring people like her who know what they are talking about and you can tell that they take a true pride in what they do they enjoy what they do and most importantly, they know what they are talking about (I have had some people way out in left field when it came to giving advice) Thank You Petco and Veronica. Staff are not helpful, I asked where can I find the "good2go carrier for a cat" he pointed me to bird cage area. Then I went back to him said that's not a cat section. He told then you look around and if I see it I will let you know. But he did not search for me. Finally I found another for my cat and Petco online are on sale. The cashier told me they won't match their online store price only price match for other stores. I found Amazon has the same one and asked for price match. Not Amazon too. Why they said they will price match??? I will never to to Petco anymore and I will return everything I purchased. read more

I wish I could give petco more than 5 stars! I love the customer service they provide and how much its shown that everyone there loves my dog. We have been taking him to puppy play since his first set of shots. He is now 5 months.. so for about 3 months..in that time there he has had great socialization with other dogs that he loves any dog he sees and just wants to play. We also are in puppy level 2 training with david now after graduating from puppy level 1.. and he is an AMAZING trainer. Koda loves him and loves going to petco every weekend. David is such a great trainer we reccomend him to everyone we know that has puppies. He is knowledgable and works well with us as well when explaining what and why we are doing what we do. All the staff remembers Koda by name and that shows me they really care. Grooming has also been a great experience for us! (I've had not great experiences elsewhere with another dog)... Brittany also remembers him and always tries her best to get him in whenever we walk in. She is kind and friendly and does a great job! It is not stressful at all for me when dropping him off for his puppy bath. I seriously could go on and on about all the things I love about this petco! I wouldn't go anywhere else for my fur baby! I like this Petco location for its convenience and cleanliness. Also love the doggy treat buffet, especially when I bring my kids to pick out treats for our two dogs. They love the idea of making custom batches for their pets. I have used the grooming services a couple of times and found them to be good, just a bit pricier than others. read more
