I have had fantastic experiences with the grooming services here. All of the groomers are very friendly and gentle with my dog. We've recently had Gloria who's great, but all of the groomers we've had have been fantastic. Each time my dog goes in for a bath service ($32) he comes out smelling fresh and super soft. They brush the dogs for 15 minutes and get all the loose fur off. It also includes nail trimming, ear cleaning and gland expression. The whole service takes an hour and they call when he's finished. They've never kept him for too long and they are always on time for his appointment. Appointments are VERY easy to make online. I've had my fair share of $100 grooming services and this is just as good for only $32 - highly recommended. read more

In my last visit to the store, I noticed what appeared to be rat droppings in the pet food aisle of the store, and i even encountered a LARGE RAT in the back of the shop!!! with so many rat droppings and a rat of that size I can only imagine that there are plenty more throughout the store, which has an adjoining grooming salon where dogs are handled!!! Brian and Sandy were hostile towards me and my dog. My dog was off leash for a minute as he loves to sit down by the register. I don't mind holding the leash but the way "Brian" asked was very rude and aggressive. See this type of behavior makes shoppers not visit the store anymore and shop online. I wouldn't take my standard poodle for a cut to this place. I asked for a small trim that I was told it would cost me $80 and ended up paying $160 after they gave him a full out cut without even calling me before shaving him. This store (inside & out) is not kept as nice as other Petcos. I have been trying to buy Royal Canin chunks in gravy packets (not cans) and each week there are empty shelves and they are out of stock. When I asked one of the clerks to order more, they said we should be getting an order in on Friday. The trouble is they continue to order one box of pouches each week and then goes out of stock. The employees are polite which is the only 10/19: Dead tree, weeds a foot and a half high, trash in the alley. GROOMING only rating... I've always been happy with the service. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because I do think they're a little pricey and they almost never offer any discounts... I can't ever get out of there spending less than $75 (pre-tip) and my dog only weighs 6 pounds! That's for the full treatment though... bath, cut, nails, teeth... whole thing. But I've yet to find another place that is so convenient (can make an appointment almost anytime), easy (parking lot!) and reliable. My little angel always comes home looking adorable and smelling great and generally not traumatized (I mean, she doesn't love it, but what dog does?). I bought 9 goldfish on 1/30/2021 in the store. I had a dead goldfish in few days and went back to do the exchange on 2/6/2021. The store manager whose name is Natalie with blue color hairs said I needed to have my water test in order for return or exchange under 30 days policy. I told her that I was never asked to get water in exchange for a dead goldfish at $0.35. I have been a customer with Petco for at least 5 years with my membership. Natalie said Petco policy needs water for return or exchange. I told her whether I need to drive back 10 mins to get my water to get an exchange for $0.35 cent goldfish or I just throw away a $0.35 dead goldfish and buy one there. She proceeded to give me my $0.35 cents, however, my purpose to drive 10 mins was to get a replacement. I am not expecting $0.35cents. What a super bad customer service as a store manager. Great Petco location on the corner in West Hollywood. They have their own lot which is free. They have a large selection of food. The people who work here are helpful. Sign up for rewards here so you can get $5 off once in a while. Within the year they did some remodeling and the place looks great. It's really well organized. It isn't as big as some of the other Petco's I've been to which isn't good or bad for me...just thought it's worth mentioning. Not a lot of pets sold here (except some aquatic animals, I believe). I'm also not sure about the selection of products for pets that are not cats or dogs. But if you have a dog or cat then you are most likely going to find what you are looking for. I've never tried grooming my animals here so I'm not going to comment on that either. read more

I've brought my dog here twice for grooming. The first time when I had just adopted him and he was matted and extremely dirty I was so nervous the groomer would hurt him but Tamara did such an amazing job! The second time I requested her and she did a great job again. (Check out my before and after photo). The grooming was a bit pricey ($60) and there were 6 dead betas just floating in their own filth. The store is small but usually tidy. They do have a lot of events like dog mixers but I've never been to one. If I were to review just Tamara it'd be 5 stars but since this is for the store I can't give it more than 3. read more

Horrible pet grooming. They need to be investigated and checked. They are doing everything according to no written rules. They give haircuts on their own, cut the ear and tail off, without permission, wash the dog without consent. Very unprofessional and rude. This petco has a better selection of Bettas than its counterpart on La Brea, in my opinion (better meaning they're NOT DEAD!). However I still go there always feeling bad for the fish. There's always a gross amount of poop and dust in their tiny plastic cups, I had to explain to a little girl today why they 'didn't look very happy' (because it's not the right environment for them.) Do not sign up for grooming. Clearly the manager was not able to keep enough groomers on staff. They are down to one. We made an appointment 2 weeks ago which was canceled at the last minute and rescheduled. The new appointment 2 weeks from now was just canceled. We've gone there for a couple of years and they did a great job. Very frustrating. read more

Yesterday was the second time I brought my dogs here for a Groom appointment. My 80lbs Pit Bull, Rocko, and my 5lbs Shih Tzu, Hälo, loved their wash and cut by Mark. The first time we brought Hälo in was his fist cut ever and Mark did such a great job with it. Because Hälo wasn't use to getting a cut he could get all the hair around is little face but yesterday Hälo came out looking cute as ever and we can finally see his whole little cute face! Mark was definitely able to get more hair cut around his face and we were so excited about it! We did run into a little issue with Rocko at the beginning. Rocko has an old knee injury and the vet recently put him on anti-inflammatory meds like a month ago so I just wanted to make sure they knew to be care with him around his knee and hip area. They told me that they had a new policy and they they couldn't take him because he had been on medication and had an injury. This was surprising because we had literally just brought them in 2weeks ago for the first time there and it was fine after we got clearance from the vet via a phone call. Mark, the spa manager was very nice about it and explained to us about the new policies, which I can completely understand. (You know how people can be with their pets! I am one of those people, lol) After Mark went and got his manager we explained that we got vet clearance 2weeks ago when we came the first time and he said it was ok for Rocko to get his bath. We were so happy to heave that! The staff at this Petco location is very nice. We love coming here! read more

Brought my dog here for a bath and haircut at this location for the first time yesterday (6/9/2020 @ 12 PM) Realized today after looking at their booking menu that they charged me for a medium size dog with long hair BUT in fact my dog is a small dog that is 11 lbs ‍ . Not just the error in charging me the wrong price, Walter had asked me what I wanted done. I was specific in wanting only a light trim around the face and tail along with shorter cut on body. My dog ended up with facial hair shorter than I had requested and to make it worse the hair is longer on one side than the other. I have never been more specific than this appointment. I didn't even get to see my dog until I had already paid so I didn't question it right away since I was in a hurry. I left the guy a nice tip and now I regret it's Now my dog looks like a schnauzer when he is a Yorkie/ cairn terrier mix. read more

Our "go to" spot! My dog loves it here so much that he used to escape the yard and take himself shopping! True story. We live down the street, and so thankfully he wasn't going anywhere too far and all of the employees were so great to hold onto him safely, until I could run down there and get him! I took my dog in for a bath and they made me wait 15 mins because they were arguing with a customer. Then the idiot at the desk finally lets me approach the counter but didn't explicitly say they wouldn't groom dogs with arthritis. He just made it seem like because my dog is elderly they'd need to chat about his health with my vet. Then I tried to get the vet on the phone for 30 mins and nobody would pick up. So then the petco desk guy decides to mention that if his chart says he has any arthritis they won't see him. The guy in front of me had the same issue and argued for 20+ minutes. Why don't you corporate petco idiots put up a sign that says "we don't groom dogs with arthritis". I also don't understand why you can't just wash all dogs as long as they have their shots. I took my rescue, Mr. Valentino for a bath, nail clip, ear cleaning, and tooth brushing - he had not been to a groomer before - the finished results were awesome. Captain Negative is here to strike again! This place is not worthy of the name Petco! The employees are useless, lazy, and rude (that includes management). I went to Petco to replace my fish that met an untimely death. I usually go to the Petco on Robertson, but unfortunately, they were remodeling their aquatic department. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of fish they had. More than that, there were no dead fish floating around in the tanks, which is a huge plus for me. I found the fish I wanted, and decided to find someone to help me with my selection. I approached the register, and asked the cashier if I could get some help in the aquatic department. He said, "Yeah, let me get someone." and sent a page over the store intercom system. I returned to the aquatic center to wait for the employee. Boy did I wait. No one showed up, and after ten minutes of waiting, I returned to the cashier and asked him again. This fool had the nerve to ROLL his eyes, and attempted to page the missing employee again. I waited another ten minutes, and decided to look for the employee myself. Nothing could have prepared me for what I found. The employee that was paged to help me was following a woman around showing her various dog accessories for the ugliest mutt I have ever seen. Now I am not one to judge people (who am I kidding), but this woman could only be described as a grotesque, cheap, hooker looking woman. She was clearly trying to get laid, as was the employee who ignored the page. I returned to the cashier, and asked him if there was anyone else that could help me, as the other employee was busy trying to get his freak on with the hooker in the back. He said no. I had my heart set on getting those fish. So I went back to the aquatic center, found a net, and a plastic bag, and got the fish I wanted myself. When I went to pay for them, the cashier said, "Who go those for you?" I told him I got them myself. He said, "You can't do that!" I told him, "Fine, put them back yourself." and left. read more

I got the call yesterday at 3:45 that my dog had bolted out my door when the dog walker came to pick him up. I was at work 40 minutes away from home and had to endure the 40 minute drive to start looking for him. One of my coworkers drove me and I didn't stop crying or panicking the whole time I am ashamed to admit. Once home we split up on foot and went in the direction he was seen running. Over two hours into the search my Mother called me. She'd contacted our local Petco where I take my dog once a week. He was there. My dog literally ran over a mile crossing one of the busiest streets in Los Angeles at top speed to Petco. We go once a week and apparently that is where he decided to go. According to his saviour, Monica, my dog came to the front door of Petco. Only being 12 pounds he couldn't trigger the automatic doors. Monica let him in. She took him into grooming and gave him water, a bath and a bully stick. She nicznamed him Georgie and was planning on taking him to a near by veterinarian to see if "Georgie" was chipped. But she got the call from my Mother and offered to wait until I could get to Petco to pick him off even though she was off duty. Monica even offered to take him to me. Once I got there I could see that he was not only alive, but safe and comfortable. I offered Monica anything she wanted and she refused. What Monica and the grooming team at Petco did for me is the greatest gift I will ever get in my life. read more
