Amazing AYCE Dim Sum. Came before a UMd Men's Baskeball game. Have ordered from Bethesda but not AYCE so was glad to see this on the top Asian restaurants in Maryland on TikTok or Instagram. Service was fast and ambiance was clean. Sad it closed so quickly.

It's a new Chinese restaurant in the college park. It serves both small tapas and big sharing dishes. We liked the food so much that we went back within the same week to try more dishes. The prices were amazing. Affordable for students. The food was great and tasty. The atmosphere was casual. The temperature was low, I wondered if there was heat. We tried appetizers, cold dishes and hot spicy food. All were excellent. I'm eager to to go back to try more dishes. I'm very impressed with the service. The waiter went out his way to make sure the dishes were not too spicy for our taste. Very attentive.

They're housed where former MeatUp was located! I like the Columbia location and was hoping to like this one as well. Sadly I was disappointed with my takeout order. Service was good but it was the food that wasn't good. I got the stir fry spicy chicken with a side of white rice (had to order separately). The quantity was small and the taste was bland. I had some pepper at home and that didn't help. I don't see myself returning to this location. Sadly!

Wow. Im not originally from Maryland but anyone in the DMV should try this place at least once. My friend and I did the all you can eat menu which I believe goes from 11am -3pm. Everything was so delicious, good portion size and the service was fast. We may have tried 10 or so items. Honorable mention would be Mongolian beef and shrimp dumplings. The boba teas were good as well. Clean place.

Scallion Bubble Pancake! Steamy hot until you pierce it. Just pull apart and dip to eat. My fave!

I never leave reviews under 4 stars. If I'm not a fan, I won't post. Other yelpers will let you know how bad it is! I'll explain my 3 stars shortly. I met a friend here for lunch today and waited 56 minutes for our order. We had the first reservation which is when it opened. There were barely any customers during the lunch hour. I didn't say anything until the 45 min mark because my friend and I were catching up. When I flagged down one of the managers, I told him we have been waiting awhile. He asked us what we ordered and then told us they had some issues with something in the kitchen. I said, if there are issues just tell your customers there might be a wait because of (whatever it is). Customers appreciate it when they have a why. To say nothing until asked is awful service. Servers were obviously new and only checked on us once our food arrived. We saw one guy who sat waiting as long as we did, just pay for his drink and leave. I know it's a new location but Peter Chang restaurants are all over the DMV, so I know they know how to run restaurants. Hence the 3 stars! As for food, I loved the handmade noodle beef soup. It's a large bowl with tender beef and wide noodles. Great flavor! The pork soup dumplings were okay. They fell apart before I could get it on a spoon. I would go back for the bubble pancake with curry chicken dip. The spicy Dan Dan Noodle dish was very spicy so if you think you can handle it, go for it, but otherwise ask them to temper the heat because the chili powder flavor overpowered what ever flavor it was supposed to be. The Asian city nightlife interior is fun! I would rather order takeout than dine in based on the wait we had.

    Poor service and mediocre food.

Service was bad. Ambiance is non-existent. Much of the previous restaurant signage and stuff still being used. I appreciate recycling but the place needs a serious refresh. Also the food just wasn't that great. Protein came out. We asked server about our rice and he said another server was getting it. Then he finally strolls to back and brings us the rice after we already started eating. Owner/manager was eating in dining room (which is fine) but also half-a$$ serving too. It was just terrible service. Will never go back.

    Pan Fried Pork Dumplings

I loved eating at Peter Chang's for the first time. Before we talk about the food, let's start with the service. It was fast and accommodating, and the inside felt modern but homey. I would 100% recommend getting the pan fried dumplings. I love my dumplings crispy on the outside but soft and firm on the inside. These dumplings not only met, but surpassed my expectations, and was genuinely one of the best dumplings I've ever tasted. I love trying something new when eating somewhere for the first time. I wasn't sure what to expect with the spicy lamb hoof, but like the dumplings, it was delicious in a way that was unexpected. The lamb was soft and tender, while the hoof broth was rich and flavorful. I saw the handmade noodles on TikTok and knew I had to try them so it was perfect that I could get them as a side for my lamp hoof. Everything paired well together, and I loved it so much that I ended up getting another round of dumplings to go. I would recommend Peter Changs for anyone trying to find somewhere new to eat or just a casual place to grab something with some friends.

Xinjiang Spicy Chicken. Best dish I've had in the DMV.

Best food in the DMV! And nice and respectful staff. Will be here soon and often. The bar is yet to open, but that's another reason to come back in the future.

Tucked into the heart of Dupont Circle with its unmistakable bright blue awning, the restaurant is intimate, moody, and always buzzing. It's not a huge space, which only adds to its charm and makes every reservation feel like a win. The atmosphere is perfect for sharing dishes and lingering over dinner with friends. The food was incredible...I genuinely loved every single bite. Just be prepared: the Sichuan spice is no joke! If you aren't expecting it, it'll definitely sneak up on you (in the best way). My must-orders? The chili wontons, Dan Dan noodles, and beef noodles. Every dish was packed with bold flavor and left me wanting to come back for more. If you've been trying to score a reservation, keep at it. Astoria is one of those places that's absolutely deserving of its reputation, and I'll be thinking about those noodles until my next visit.

Inside had small tables and a kinda casual cocktail bar vibe Beef Noodles - the highlight and actually very good! The noodles are long and handmade and chewy. They hold onto the sauce very well! The sauce has a slight kick and is very savory. The beef is soft and also flavorful! I feel the price for the portion is kinda expensive though 8/10 Chili wontons - skin is silky and soft, sauce is savory with a small kick as well! Even though the sauces look similar to beef noodle they taste very different. The fillings had good flavor and overall were good but were a bit tougher and dryer than I would prefer. 6/10 Crab fried rice - crab is slightly overcooked but naturally sweet. It has a light curry taste throughout and was pretty good but didn't really stand out 5.5/10 Mapo tofu - slight kick and nice savory taste in the sauce! However I think they cut the tofu pieces way too large or the tofu they chose had way too much tofu flavor that overpowers the sauce. I'd prefer a very light silky tofu but this was a soft tofu. 6/10 Vpod - at first it just tasted like orange juice but then the other flavors peek through on the after taste and when I mixed it more. Even though it was good, it still felt very basic 5/10 Philadelphia Scotsman - it's pretty ginger forward. Technically the level of ginger spice is fine but strong but then the rest of the drink got completely overpowered and so this just wasn't that great 2.5/10

Was feeling hangry because I had planned on stopping at Hard Times for a bowl of chili -and found out they were closed on Mondays. So, pretty much pulled a name out of a hat and would up at Chuan Tian Xia because, well, Szechuan cooking uses chiles, no? Yesssss! I ordered Signature Dumplings and a bowl of Beijing-style Beijing-style Zhajiang Noodles. The dumplings were outstanding: a mix of shrimp, pork, and chive that were plump, juicy, fragrant with the herbaceous flavor of chives. The accompanying sauce was not too sweet, not too hot, just right as a complement to the dumplings. Yowza. I was a happy camper... ...and then I dug into my noodles. Double yowza! Thick wheat noodles topped with a rich sauce made from (I think) fermented soybean paste and braised pork belly, garnished with cucumbers. The portion was way to big for me to eat after my flight, but I really, really enjoyed it (and the remaining dumplings) for lunch today. Did I say yowza? I'm an adventurous eater so the menu's less Americanized items were what I would have ordered given more time (like Maoxuewang: can you say "pig's tongue, spam, pork intestine, and beef tripe"? Protein is protein, baby!). Just means I need to come back, and I will, as quickly as I can.

The challenge of the menu is its size: it includes old school standards that your father may have ordered, yet has some much more interesting and tongue-tingling szechuan options also. So it behooves the diner to take time to read through thr long menu carefully and to order selectively. Service is efficient and special requests are handled with grace, rather than the eye rolling of their peers. We first ordered crispy beef, which wws well executed with the beef shreds still juicy despite their crackle coating. The sauce had a mild bit of chili heat and subtle sweetness, and was generously salted with a medley of julienned veggies. Our second dish was General Tao Chicken, which is more commonly known as General Tso. It was again, a very well executed version of what has become a popular classic, with perfectly coated and fried nuggets of tender chicken breastfeeding in a sweet and spicy sauce served with broccoli and chili peppers. Sichuan Pavilion is very snug, amd something of a "rabbit warren" with a series of rooms connected by tight pathways. Tables can be small, so try to book in advance. Also, some of the best dishes are the more traditional szechuan style, do take the time to ask your server about them and be prepared for some heat.
