Peter Pan BMW taught me some valuable lessons, not only about Peter Pan BMW, but about buying cars in general. Never buy a car from Peter Pan BMW that is listed in "AS IS" condition. I purchased a 7-series BMW with this dealership. It was a beautiful car, my dream car in fact. I fell in love with the car the moment I saw it and they allowed me to take it for a spin on my own. The car had an "AS IS" sticker on it, and I thought I negotiated a good price for it. I was in heaven when I drove it off the lot, turning left on El Camino to head home. Over the next 18 months, I paid upwards of $20,000 for repairs. I repeat. After foolishly making the mistake of purchasing a used BMW from Peter Pan BMW, with an "AS IS" sticker on it, I had to fork over more than $20,000 in repairs over the next 18 months. The car was a nightmare mechanically. It had about 80K miles on it and it was out of warranty. What an idiot I was to buy it, and my experience with it soured me on buying BMWs. Lessons learned. (1) Peter Pan BMW will sell you a mechanical nightmare, if you are stupid enough to purchase such a car with an "AS IS" sticker. Some businesses won't sell you junk, but this dealership is OK with selling junk, even disclosing it is junk with the "AS IS" sticker. They will of course try to get as much money from you as possible for that junk. (2) In general, stay away from these vehicles with "AS IS" stickers, unless you are a mechanic who is prepared to do some serious work on the car you purchase. These BMWs are indeed well-engineered, performance vehicles but they can be technically "fussy". A vehicle with an "AS IS" sticker is certain to contain some serious mechanical headaches. Stay away from the aggravation and enormous cost these problematic vehicles pose. Peter Pan BMW of course sells some beautiful vehicles and the staff are respectful and courteous, but beware of any vehicle with an 'AS IS" sticker on it. read more

Seeing as Covid is still around, I've been unable to go about trying out new food places and so my reviews have been few and far between as of late, but my experience here has fueled me with enough rage to power through a review, so here we go... I bought a pre-owned BMW here back in October of 2019. Service was absolutely stellar all the way through me paying for the car... hmmm. They were very willing to let me schedule test drives and very intently answered all the questions I had as a first time BMW owner. Unfortunately, all the amazing customer service I received stopped here. I was given an estimate of about 1 week for them to prep the car and clean it before it would be ready for pick up. By clean it, I was told that they would buff it and polish it up, as well as detail the entire interior of the car. Considering how much they boasted about how good of a job their detailer does, I was expecting the car to come back sparkling and spotless from top to bottom. 1 week passed, and there was no word on if the car would be ready for pick up, so I gave them a call. After trying to get a hold of the sales person for 2 days, I finally got a call back saying the car could be ready 2 days from my call date. (Note: the guy said "could"). 2 days later, I got a call saying the car was cleaned and ready for pick up. I got the car and half way home, I realized that they didn't even bother to fill the gas tank for me and left me with so little gas that the gas light came on (ok... not a huge deal, but they did mention that they would do that for me). I also noticed that the car smelled pretty strange and fermented. So, after I parked my car, I started looking around to see what it could be. To my absolute dismay/horror, I found a moldy crusted bottle of flavored tea that had exploded under the passenger car seat... so much for amazing detailing work... I ended up having to scrub the mold and tea out myself after I got home. I also noticed a lot of scuffs and scratches that they said they would buff out were still there. They essentially did a half assed job and I'm pretty sure they didn't even start the cleaning till I made the call asking if the car was ready. At this point, I already had the car so there was not much else I could do about the detailing and cleaning job they did. Fast forward 4 months to my first maintenance appointment. I scheduled an appointment at the BMW dealership in Mountain View since it is closer to where I work. When I arrived, I asked about purchasing the extended warranty for the car. I was informed by the sales person there that unfortunately, the car wasn't listed under my name in the BMW system so I couldn't purchase warranty till I moved ownership over. Somehow, the car was still under the sales person from Peter Pan BMW's name. I tried to contact the sales person at Peter Pan BMW and never got a call back, so I ended up having to go through many loops to get the car ownership changed. This took me hours when it could have taken minutes if the sales person at Peter Pan just got back to me and approved of the change. My final experience today, reaffirmed that I will never be going back to Peter Pan BMW to buy a car ever. I got a flat tire on the way to work and called the service department at Peter Pan to ask if the flat was still under warranty since my car was less than a year old. The lady at the service desk informed me that all the service people were busy at the moment, but that she would mark my call as "urgent". Urgent my butt... I called at 7:30am this morning and it is now 10:30pm as I'm writing this review. I never got a call back. I called BMW in Mountain View right after and got my question answered immediately. If this is Peter Pan BMW's definition of urgent... I really don't want to know when I'd get a call back if it weren't "urgent". I apologize for the long drawn out review, but for those of you who want, TL;DR: The service at Peter Pan BMW SUCKS!!! They are nice to you up until you pay for the car. Once the transaction is done, their customer service and courtesy are out the door. Please save yourselves the trouble and NEVER buy a car here or come here for service! read more
