They have the best jalapeño poppers here! It's always a must get when going to Pete's Garage Bar! Their burgers are also delicious especially with the mushrooms and onion, but I do feel that it is a bit on the salty side for me. The owners are awesome and their music selection is great! Amazing food at a great price, very skillful staff. This is one of our favorite spots to stop every year. We come to Oshkosh every year for CUSA and we stop here for food and drinks. We love being able to see the same faces working. The employees work their tails off but sure do have a look of enjoyment on their faces. Amazing food and very fairly priced. Drinks are also cheep and a spot we like to shake a few dice at as well. Pete's Garage Bar was a great find on a Saturday afternoon. Got a cozy spot at the bar and the place was quickly filled for lunch. The owner or another guy named Pete was working hard at the grill. It was nonstop for the couple hours we were there. Food was great and he steered us in the direction of what was best. His "shit" beers were cold, drinks strong,and the food was great. I love this place!! We just recently found it in August and have been back twice. We were in Oshkosh for the Winnebago county fair and right before we got there it started to downpour. *sigh*. I suppose we better take shelter. We found Pete's on yelp and decided to check it out. One of the owners was working behind the bar serving drinks and food. Their grill is right there as you walk in so you can see everything cooking. He was super cool and indulged all of our "usual" newbie questions. The food is just bar food but I would say pretty darn good bar food. The best part? They serve until 2 am. We are always looking for late night eats and this area has limited options. Do not come here, if you want to be catered to, no waitress, nobody to bus the tables. We stumbled upon this dive bar through the rave Yelp reviews while craving a good burger when visiting Oshkosh for a high school basketball game... I must say at first glance, upon entering I thought "uh-oh!, the previous reviews must have been submitted by friends of the owner", but despite first impressions & being pressed for time, we sat down and were warmly welcomed by what I assume were regulars and ordered. Boy, am I glad we did! The drinks, a whiskey old fashioned and a jack and coke, inexpensive and delish! The burger, literally exploded with juiciness and the cheese curds? Well, they were fried nuggets of white cheddar perfection ! Needless to say, if you are high maintenance, needing to be coddled this is not the place for you. We are in town for EAA. Read reviews on Yelp and decided to try it. Like the saying goes "don't judge a book by its cover". And that holds true for Pete's Garage. The place is nothing to look at on the outside (or the inside, as a matter of fact). But WOW the prime rib sandwich is to die for. The French fries were perfect. We brought along a friend from out-of-state and Pete let him sample all the local beers - he ended up loving Two Women! Pete was very personable. As was his (twin) assistant "rePete". The burgers are amazing. Probably the best burgers in oshkosh. You can watch the grill master chopping onions and slicing mushrooms. The quality of the burger is high. And the prices are unbeatable. The only downside is that this is a dive bar. Only a few high tops and only a small grill. This place is popular so seats fill up and the wait for food will be long.
