We stopped there after bowling and there were 4 adults and 4 kids. Probably around 8pm and the restaurant was slow, if not dead. They refused to sell to us!!!! For some reason or another Pete's Pizza doesnt advertise their lunch buffet, and their lunch buffet is great! Their buffet always offers up different dishes, pizza and salad are always a staple of the buffet and as a special treat bbq ribs are on the buffet on Thursdays! I just received my delivery order from Pete's. My medium cheese & tomato pizza had the toppings all over the box, maybe half on the pie. The crust was poorly cut. All in all, it was hard to eat. The pizza was for a party I'm throwing for the football game, and needless to say the group was not impressed by Pete's. I am usually a fan, and love their cheesy breadsticks. However, even the ranch side had spilled on its journey to my place. When I called, I was first asked if we had eaten most of the pizza. While we weren't very successful putting our toppings and crust together, we had eaten some of the pizza. I was told I could "trade" the remainder of the pizza for a new pizza in 20-30 minutes, or receive a $5 credit on my next order. This pizza cost me $10.90 +$1.80 for the tomatoes, and another $0.25 for the ranch we did not receive intact, plus tax and tip - well over $5. I was disappointed in the shape of the food. I understand that things happen and this is likely an exception. However, I was very disappointed in the customer service I received. Try Pequod's - they've never let me down! read more

Great Pizza! The rest of the menu is just ok.... We usually get delivery, which is pretty quick compared to most places. We recently went into Pete's & ate at the restaurant. The staff was polite, although I only really dealt with one person the whole night. The food was rated mediocre from the other 3 friends I went with, mine was great, but I had pizza. Nice decor and our server was very attentive and prompt. If you can get over the hovering owner who acts as though its a pain to have to seat you , checks tips from guests who barely walk out the door and hangs on the servers to make sure theyre saying "all the right things" the place is worth it. We ordered the potato skins and bruschetta. Did not disappoint. Great portions and fresh ingredients. I ordered the thin crust with spinach garlic and tomatoes and my husband ordered the thin crust wise guy. He definitely recommends the wise guy. Its tasty, good beef and sausage. I recommend their thin crust, its crunchy and chewy, and the sauce is very flavorful. I ordered garlic and I GOT garlic. And the spinach wasnt absent either. Seems like this place will be pretty good and a regular in my pizza rotation here in Logan Square. The restaurant it's self is nicely appointed with a nice bar area with a few flat screens. Service was good. Waitress was always smiling and keeping my drink full. I'll definitely go back. Need to see what they can do with the pie. This was the first pizza place we ordered from after moving to Chicago. The delivery was quick, and the pizza was still hot when it arrived. We ordered the cannoli for dessert as well, and it was AMAZING. We've ordered from here quite a bit since the first time, and since then, it's been kind of hit-or-miss in terms of how long it takes to get here and how warm the pizza is when it arrives. Plus, there was one time when the cannoli tasted kind of stale (only once though). The only pizza I've ever ordered is the stuffed pizza, and I like the fillings here probably better than anywhere else. They can keep the crust though. I'm not sure if it's because it's been delivered and has had time to cool down, but the crust always seems too thick/soggy/chewy. However, having read the other reviews, it seems that what this place is really known for is their thin crust. I love thin crust, so now I'm really eager to order from here again and give it a try! read more

I ate here years ago and remembered that it was really good. Tried delivery last night and the pizza was terrific. Thin crispy crust, slightly sweet sauce with a bit of a spiciness, fresh tasty cheese cooked just right. We also ordered the "special" salad and were very pleased with the meat and cheese selection, and lots of different types of olives. Very good. So we tried this for the FIRST time on Friday. First off, this place is expensive. It caught us off guard when the bill came..we were like "WHAT THE...did we order something else that we didn't know about??" So come prepared to pay a little more than at the average pizza place. Now on to the pizza...it was just OK. Not great, not terrible, just OK. Nothing special about it. The cheese...meh. The crust...meh. The toppings...meh. It wasn't greasy, so that was good. If you're a pizza-eater, you WILL have better than this place and you WILL have worse. This is just strict middle of the road average in our eyes. We ate inside, on a Friday around 7PM. Another reviewer mentioned there were tons of kids when they went on a Friday - we had the EXACT same experience. There were tons of kids, in all age groups. I'd say from 5 yrs old on up to late teens. So be prepared for it to be loud. Also - I'm not sure if it was just a one-time thing, but it took forever to get our pizza. We ordered a large thin crust with pepperoni and it took like 45-50 min. That was excessively long. A couple other tables nearby also asked the waiter "where's our pizza?", so perhaps there was just a problem on this particular evening. Not too sure. We'll probably try this place again sometime down the line. But we have a good 2-3 other places in our arsenal that we will go to before we would come here. read more

Pizza is good, the service is not. I ordered online using the Yelp coupon for a free 2Liter of pop (yes, I said POP, that's how I roll.) I've eaten the Margherita pizza, Works, and Four Cheese. I LOVE their Margherita pizza. I order it with thin crust and theres lots of cheese. The flavors are great together, and I've tried a few Margherita pizzas. Theres lots of cheese and thick slices of tomato with the proper spices and flavors. The Works they have is ok, I've had better. My friends swear by the Four Cheese, but I dont like ricotta and theres lots of it on this one, so I don't like it much. The only problem is that Pete's Pizza does not keep. Who doesn't look forward to leftover pizza? Not with this stuff. The crust sticks to the cardboard so thick that you tear the pizza trying to get it onto a plate and into the microwave. We had to throw it away. When I ordered this pizza for delivery I got a delivery guy who didn't speak enough English to complete the transaction. English not your first language? No problem! But please know how to read the receipt and the call box at the front door. We didn't get our free 2Liter and were charged for an XLarge pizza when we ordered a Large. The delivery guy called us when he couldn't get in so we called him back on his cell. There was some mumbling then he hung up on us. We called the restaurant and the woman on the phone seemed irritated that we called. We told her what the problem was and she didn't even ask for the name on the order before hanging up. We did get our pop, but it was an hour after the original delivery and we were finished eating about to go to bed when it came. Super happy a friend referred me to Pete's Pizza. After my usual place closed down I didn't know where to go; there's so many options in Chicago. I've ordered the same pizza a bunch of times now and it never disappoints. The toppings are generously applied and there's a great amount of cheese. Great price and if you collect 13 coupons you can get a free pie. My order has always taken about an hour which is why this is only 4 stars. Check 'em out! read more

Been going to Pete's for over 30 years. The kids were at the house when I said let's go to Pete's grab a pizza than the go to show. Got there and they had remodeled, nice liked it. They had the windows wide open with air on, it was 85 outside and 84 inside restaurant. Asked before we were seated is it cool inside. The manager( very rudely ) said it was. Now the menu, awful is the word for it. For gods sake close the windows and bring back the old menu. Will not return. Darn shame read more

I'm actually not a huge fan of the thin crust pizza. They put plenty of toppings and cheese on it, but the actual crust tastes a bit bland to me. However, I L.O.V.E. their chili. I've lived in Chicago for about 10 years and have ordered pizza pretty much the entire time. Have tried nearly every pizza purveyor in town and think that Pete's for thin crust is the best. I usually order for delivery and it typically takes an hour. Not too bad, Only have eaten at the restaurant once. Service was prompt, and I really liked that it was served in a large paper bag, rather than a difficult-to-trash corrugated cardboard box. As for the pizza itself... I liked it. My sister-in-law arranged a surprise birthday party for my brother at Pete's on a summer afternoon. I was incredibly impressed by the service, ambiance, and food! They have a room that is set back away from the entrance with pillars between the front dining area and the back making for the perfect surprise. I say this mostly because my brother was able to walk to the bathroom and never notice any of us waiting for him. :) The back dining area has large table, as well as booths, and is perfect for any size group. When we were there, there was our party of 20 and one other party in the back dining room. The servers were constantly bringing refills to the tables making sure not only that we had a variety of drinks but that we had more than enough at any given moment. At every course (salad, pizza, cake), the servers brought out not only new plates but new, clean utensils as well! The house salad, which I admittedly didn't eat, was bright and colorful. It wasn't the typical house salad that can often be found at a pizza joint - some iceberg lettuce, slice of onion, and a tomato. No, this had a variety of olives, two different lettuce, and a variety of garden veggies. It was gorgeous! The pizza is a nice thin crust, almost cracker, with plenty of cheese. I wish there was more to describe it but for me, it wasn't stand out pizza. Overall, a fantastic in dining experience. read more

I was psyched to try a new pizza place and I had heard good things from fellow yelpers so I headed over to Pete's last Saturday. I normally don't walk into a restaurant without a reservation on a Saturday night and I don't care to wait for a table for too long either. The 2 of us walked in on Saturday at 7:30 pm and the place was half empty and no one was sitting at the bar. We started with a salad because my stuffed veggie pizze would take 45 minutes. Or so they said... The Greek salad was really good! Our server said the dressing was new and it was great. We waited about an hour if not more for the pizza. At one point around the 50 minute mark our waitress came by and put plates in front of us so I thought our pizza was about to come out. No it was another almost 10 minutes before it did. My friend's thin crust was hot. My stuffed was very warm. Boo. The pizza itself was fine. The sauce was really nice but the crust was soooo dry. I'd rather have it a bit softer. But when heated up it works out fine. Parking is do-able here either in the small lot in back or on the side streets. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. It is in the 'OK' category. read more

The inside is pretty huge, but doesn't have much of good energy for me to want to spend too much time here, i just can't really say there's any one thing in particular other than i always just feel out of place when i dine in. But the thin crust does delight the senses and they do have a take-out window so convenience is elevated. We were visiting Chicago and our hosts got take out on a Friday night. We got the stuffed crust cheese - kind of plain for my tastes in ordering pizza (I usually subscribe to the "more toppings the better" philosophy) . This pie was not, however, 'plain' in any sense of the word. Great sauce! Crust was perfect. Too many places I have been to either leave soggy in the middle, burnt, or both. This beat Pizza Papali's in Detroit hands down (our local favorite Chicago-style copycat, for you Chicagoan readers). This was the best pizza I've had (including other Chicago joints like Gino's), since I lived in State College PA years ago and spent most of my Grad student stipend on Hi-way Pizza (which apparently isn't held in such high regard anymore). Alas, I am rambling. Suffice to say this pizza was good - real good. And, I will be back every chance I get. Do they ship? Is there better pizza out there? Last night we ordered two 10" pizzas for delivery, both thin crust. One was cheese and green olives, and the other was half spinach/half broccoli. Our little group liked the cheese and green olives pizza very much. The spinach lover declared that he thought the crust was excellent, and the broccoli goddess was impressed at the huge quantity of broccoli she saw. She said Pete's would be her new-favorite, since every other pizza place she has used used a scant amount of broccoli. We ordered about 7pm, and were told "within an hour". The pizzas arrived piping hot 45 minutes later. I was plesantly surprised how inexpensive it was. Pete's menu is very large, and apparently Pete's also delievers beer and wine! All this, plus a surprisingly decent experience with the pizza, will probably induce us to sit on the couch and order in frequently over the winter. Very decent, basic pizza. I ordered a Greek Feta wrap for delivery on a Sunday evening, no deluxe (with fries), just the wrap. It came to me with fries (cold) and slaw. As I unwrapped my wrap, I discovered that this was no Greek Feta wrap, but an imposter! I found peppers, HUGE chunks of blue cheese, a few diced tomatoes, awful mayo sauce and some lettuce. They must have just through the cheese chunks in there as 2 x 2 blocks. Others orders were just as bad. The pizza was ok. I should have stuck with the old American standard....grilled cheese. How hard is it to screw up that? read more

We ordered a pizza from Pete's for a small get together at our house. It was a plain, straightforward order - large pizza, half cheese, half mushroom. My husband went and picked it up, since we're within walking distance. Pizza arrived home hot and smelled delicious. We waited a little bit to serve it, and it was still nice and warm when we put it out. The taste is a little bit bland for me - like there aren't enough spices on it. That can be fixed with a dash of oregano and red pepper. There is a ton of cheese, and they don't skimp on the sauce either. This isn't my favorite pizza in the city (that would be Pequod's), but if you need a quick and nearby alternative, Pete's is the way to go. read more

For pizza, you can't go wrong with Pete's. First, you go down Western and see that you can easily pull into their lot. Second, you go inside and see that it is a huge place. I have NEVER had to wait for a table. Third, everything is nice and clean before you even sit down. Now, onto the pizza itself. I confess to ordering Little Caesar's Hot -N- Ready when I'm hungry and broke or hungry and a little too hungry to wait. However, Pete's has a classic pizzeria style about it which I like. The cheese is hot, the dough is perfectly crispy (not doughy or too flaky like some others I've had) and the sauce is tasty. I've never had their other entrees or their desserts... so I'm not sure how they are. Hence, the three stars. There's a bar there, which is where I sat on New Year's Eve to watch the Bears lose... but it's not really a bar-type place. read more

I've been going here since a child and I have not found a better pizza. The thin crust is the best in the area...that's the way to go. The rest of the menu is ok, but I guess I can't be the best judge since I rarely if ever order anything else. We have become huge fans of Pete's. Love to physcially go there versus ordering....it's a good place to take the kids. It's large enough inside where you know there won't be a wait and they have some nice huge booths. I love the pizza, but the actual entrees are incrdibly good. The pork tenderloin with shoestring onion rings is excellent and so is the Italian sausage. The kids menu is also more than generous with the servings and they have plenty of options for them to choose from. Also comes with a dessert and everything I've sampled has been excellent. Yesterday, after working a game, the rest of the crew recommended Pete's for the post game. They said it was great pizza but I could not partake in the one ordered because it contained mushrooms (Allergies developed later in life and is proving to be my bane in the enjoyment of many culinary experiences). I mainly wished to comment on the potato skins. For nearly 15 years, when I visited a friends' restaurant in Missouri, I have been trying to find potato skins as good as the ones they offered, but in vain,.....Until last night. These are the REAL DEAL!!! Texture and taste of the cheese, potato and, God's gift to the pork lover, bacon knocked it out of the park. It also had a rather tasty smokiness that still makes my glands salivate. A must have visiting Pete's. Our service and server was rather good but it was a bit disheartening to see much of the wait staff walking around the place disgruntle-like and surly until they faced their own table. Then, it was a rather spartanic inquest at best. It was kind of weird, as if they were 1/2 way between zombie and striking worker (sorry, that is the best I could think of). It just struck me as eerie the vibe most were emitting when so many other pizza restaurants are rather cheerful (sometimes overwhelmingly) and genuinely happy. As for the pizza, I can only comment on its aroma and look. It seemed to be a good, crispy thin crust that did not become soggy. I could only covet as my friends playfully mocked my misfortune. I've been going here since I was a little girl with my grandparents. Just went this passed Friday for the first time in about 6 years. I was totally disappointed. The menu has downsized big time. There were a lot of families there which was fine with me since I have a 5 year old son. I wouldn't eat anything but the pizza. Ordered spaghetti with a meatball for my son. The meatball didn't even look like real meat. His meal came with a scoop of ice cream which contained chunks of ice, hello freezer burn! My mom had eggplant which was eh with sweet potato fries that were scrawny and overcooked. Glad I stuck with what I know...the pizza! Which the only ingredient I wanted was mushrooms and the pizza came plain. I love the pizza so it was no big deal but it was def coming off my bill. Other than pizza, don't do it. read more
