My husband reserved a table for us for a date. This is a place we've passed while driving by for years, and have just never tried. Tonight was such a treat! Our waiter was excellent. He was attentive without being annoying. He was knowledgeable and helpful, and was great all around. We started with the Petit Burgers, which are made with Kobe beef, and served with caramelized onion and bleu cheese crumbles. They're topped with a small pickle and tomato. We both enjoyed them as a nice little appetizer. I ordered the very berry martini, and thoroughly enjoyed the sweet fruit mixture with the vodka. And the fresh raspberry at the end was the perfect way to top it off. For my entree, I ordered the Petit Filet. First, I must say, that I only order steak medium well, and I appreciate that I did not get a dirty look for this. It was served with the potato of the day (Parmesan roasted spears) and spinach that was lightly sautéed in truffle oil. My husband ordered the Lebanese lamb chops, which was served with couscous and veggies. We both enjoyed our entrees, and felt satisfied after finishing. For dessert, we chose to try their creme brûlée, which was served with a fruit purée and a blackberry. I loved that it came out warm on the top from the freshly glazed sugar. I absolutely love this place! It's super cozy and quaint. I thought I was going to someone's house. Very romantic in my opinion. Parking is ample so convenient - right in front. Service was nice. I've been wanting to come here for a long time and finally did this past week! My husband took us there for our 7th anniversary - woohoo! We went on a Monday night around 745pm and it was not too crowded, so were seated right away. It feels like you are in a intimate, cozy (cozy as in a home away from home - not cramped) french home. It is small, but spacious. During the warmer times, they have outdoor seating. Customer service was great. They were attentive and helpful! Now on to the real good stuff... the menu! Their menu consisted of so many delicious sounding choices that it was hard to pick. For an appetizer we had the tuna tartare on fresh avocado and it was so good! For our entrees, my husband ordered a pasta with filet mignon - I had a few bites and it was good! I ordered the lamb and it was mouthwatering and so flavorful! Two of our dishes were over cooked (medium rare filet was definitely medium and the chicken was dry and a little charred). I'm not sure the prices fit with using paper towels instead of cloth napkins and the outside fountain / koi pond could definitely use attention or filled in / landscaped for a nice quaint restaurant. Went there for a work meeting - I was the only vegetarian/non-alcohol drinker. They are just not designed for that. Only non-alcoholic beverages were Coke and Sprite. I had a flatbread pizza that was essentially a piece of Italian bread with melted mozzarella and flavorless veggies. Very disappointing. Le Petit Bistro was une grande disappointment. Ambiance was nice - looked like a small house converted into a restaurant. The menu looked appetizing if a bit on the high side for this area. My wife and I like to splurge on a nice meal on occasion, so decided to stop in. We ordered two specials, my wife had sea-bass and I had the strip steak. Her fish and couscous were okay but a bit under-seasoned and the vegetables were over-cooked and over-buttered. It was a solid average dish, but not worthy of its $39 price-tag, in my opinion. I should have questioned the "truffle butter" on my steak when it was described. Alas, I regretted my rookie oversight as soon I could smell the unmistakable cloying aroma of truffle-oil...even before the plate was set down. The strip steak was cooked to a proper temperature, but was not a quality piece of meat. It, too, was under-seasoned, though it was difficult to tell through the punch-you-in-the-face truffle oil. The crab-cakes on the side were okay, and probably the best thing on my plate, but that bar had been set low. The potato side-dish was inedible. I took a taste and it was cold (not just not hot, but actually cold), greasy, and had an almost rancid flavor. My wife saw my face and tried a bit out of curiosity and described it as an almost ammonia flavor. Her comment was "floor cleaner?" The waiter, to his credit, offered couscous as a substitute when he oddly asked, "is your food...edible?" Our meal consisted of the two mains and two soft-drinks and rang up to an impressive $120! If you are in the mood for a very intimate french style bistro, this is as perfect in the northwest arkansas area you can get! My boyfriend and I went a couple of weeks ago for dinner, knowing that it would be pricey, and to be honest dinner entrees ranged from 15-30+, but I can assure you that any of the dishes would have been well worth it. We ordered the Carpaccio (sp), which in simple terms is a Kobe grade raw filet very thinly sliced over a bed of greens. This one light plate was enough to consider an appetizer. This dish I believe was around $9 and well worth it if you have the taste buds for that sort of thing. We love to try new things. We split the special, which at that point we were not concerned about the price due to the flavors of the first dish. It consisted of lamb chops over a bed of pasta with veggies mixed in. Very flavorful. And to top it all off we eneded our meal with the chocolate bread pudding which is TO.DIE.FOR. Also, we both had our own glass of wine. They charge by the bottle or by the glass. VERY large selection of wine. Expect to dine and enjoy your dinner. This is not a rushed environment and the staff really want you to enjoy your experience it seems. They don't really both you much, and are on top of your drink refills. We ended up with a $70 tab, but we tip so it was $80. Well worth it and we left very full and very pleased. We've lived in this area for 7 months now and I've been wanting to visit this place since! We just visited last night and it was everything I had hoped for. It was my birthday, and they were so catering to us, making sure we had a great time. We enjoyed sharing the Caprese as an appetizer- so refreshing. I'm addicted to mozzarella and basil though so I'm partial. :) My fiancé had the Chicken Pesto Pasta and it was delicious! I had a bite and can back that up! I enjoyed the scallops. They were cooked to perfection! I could have eaten more but was satisfied. We split a piece of homemade cheesecake made with cognac, lemon zest and cranberries- ah, spectacular. My wife and I went last night for Valentines Day. The food was good and the service excellent. I do have a problem with the price gouging that goes on for Holidays such as this. We decided to be adventurous and ordered a bottle of wine we had never had. The price for this wine was $60. We will certainly pay $60 for a good bottle of wine and it was very good. When we checked our local liquor store however we were shocked when we found it for $14.99. I expect some markup but that's ridiculous. We ordered a tuna appetizer and the Valentines dinner for two which consisted of a small filet, a small serving of sea bass as well as a few potatoes and pieces of zucchini. To be fair it did come with a piece of cheesecake. The total price for this meal was $200. The price was not listed for the dinner for two and now I know why. So to sum up our visit: Service, Fantastic Ambiance, Fantastic Food, Not worth nearly as much as we paid. Wine, Overpriced Moral of the story......we should have just gone to Ruth's Chris. Amazing food & decor, excellent service. We got a reservation for 8:00PM on a Saturday night. Decor is very classy, menu is extensive, wine list isn't huge but has great selection, full bar. We had grilled brie for appetizer, then braised meats for dinner: osso bucco (24 oz) and pork shanks. Osso bucco was enormous, served with grilled vegetables and potatoes. The meat completely fell off the bone, no knife required, very flavorful. Pork shanks were served with the same vegetables, with sweet plum sauce, meat also fell off the bone. For dessert we tried the Napoleon and their special - pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap crust. Now I've had cheesecake many times, but theirs was out of this world. We raved about it so much that they introduced us to the girl who makes all their desserts. Dinner was pricey but definitely worth it. Our server was attentive and pleasant. I love trying new places! This week my wife and I decided to try Petit Bistro. The decor was absolutely gorgeous. It felt like a warm, cozy home with great personality. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive throughout the night. Their wine menu is not extensive, as others have mentioned but they do have a full bar. We ordered the grilled brie as our appetizer. It was delicious! The honey and toasted nuts were a nice compliment to the grilled brie. I do think they could have added more nuts or a tart fruit to compliment the brie. Nonetheless, it was scrumptious. For our main entree, we ordered the pork shanks and the steak au poivre. The pork shanks fell off the bone and were pretty tasty. They did need more sauce though. The steak au poivre was uneventful as well as the temperature was off (I asked for medium and received medium-well). The steak had no pop, no zing, it was sadly bland. The vegetables, which were the same for both entrees, were mushy. Overall, I enjoyed the decor more than I enjoyed the food. The food was inconsistent and unfortunately not worth the cost. read more

Petit Bistro has all the fixings to be a four star restaurant if it becomes an honest business. We mentioned we were from out-of town and that may have been the key to their overcharging us. I believe the most expensive item on the menu was $39. The waiter almost as an afterthought mentioned he had sea bass with a lemon butter sauce which we ordered. Our error was that we did not ask the price in advance. We were charged $49 for the sea bass which is out-of-line with the rest of the menu prices.
