After canceling our appointment three times for grooming today they finely took my three dogs in. We dropped the dogs off at 12:30, we picked up the dogs at 5:30pm and they were not finished. They were short handed and should of never booked our dogs , Our dogs were there for 5 hours being kept in pens. At 5:30I was told it would be another 45 minutes, this business practice is unacceptable. Upon arriving to pick up the dogs, two of which were done and the third not completed the girl doing the grooming got nasty with my wife when she question why they over booked. The manager stepped in and started in on my wife and voices got raised. This is by far not the proper way to treat customers. I would not recommend taking your dogs to get groomed there, they over book and your pets have to in pens for an extended period of time, the staff mistreats their customers and are rude and argumentative. read more

Took my 6 year old lab mix here for training since I just got him in January from the county & wanted to work on his socialization (he's very scared around other dogs & nervous with new people). 6 week class for $115, pretty good deal. The trainer was very good, and recognized each dog's issues. My guy was the old man in the group - most people had puppies - but it was still a great experience for me and my pooch. While taking the class, I realized he'd obviously been trained by whoever had him when he was younger, so it was fun for me to learn what he already knew & what commands he responded to. It also really helped with my confidence when taking him out for walks, hikes, etc. The fact that I'm more confident with him has made a huge difference in his behavior - I'm not stressed out when we encounter other dogs so now he isn't either. The class helped me realize that he's just not a dog who wants to be with a bunch of other dogs, which is fine. All & all a great experience & I highly recommend it! My one suggestion would be that they should have separate classes for small dogs and/or have adults only classes. It can be a lot to handle, making sure your larger dog doesn't try to eat the little guys & also trying to make sure he's not overwhelmed by kids at the same time. read more

I've never had to complain about any store or restaurant, no matter the service that I've had but today was just the worst experience I've ever had. I asked a reddish blonde haired girl there with blue eyes not sure her name for some information on shock collars just trying to learn.. I have a 4-5 month old Doberman who has a couple things we are trying to fix, I've had many many Doberman owners recommend these collars to me. I'm not sure if she's ever had one or experienced a Doberman but I wouldn't be interested in one if it wasn't my last resort. She basically made me feel so stupid for even considering it and basically said I would traumatize my dog and made me feel awful and didn't even offer any sort of resolution and said my pet would resent me and walked away... I left the store with no help and feeling awful for even coming in to ask. Last time coming in there for help, never had any issues before but we love our pet so to be shamed for asking was not something we took lightly. read more

Called to get my dog groomed and they had same day openings. Got there early and they took him in to wait for his "stylist". Appointment was set for 12:30 and I got a call about 2:40 to say he was done. Went in to pick him up and there were about 4 stylists sitting around looking bored. Wasn't the friendliest of greeting but whatever. My dog looked sharp, cut could've been a little shorter. I would only bring him back if I was in desperate need, I'll keep searching for a new dog groomer in AZ. read more

On 9/16/17 I had a Furminator bath and brush done for my Siberian Husky. Now, he only shades once a year, but when he sheds.....HE SHEDS. So I expect PetSmart Grooming to really come through for me only 2 times a year (I got lucky since he only shades before Winter and before Summer) So, on this day I had Autumn do the service. I booked online, but I was not able to select any other groomers. Her name was the only one that populated. I went ahead and booked it since I needed it done for a vacation we were taking. When I picked him up, he brushed against my jeans and I had a clump of hair. I knew this wasn't going to be good. By the time we got home, our car was COVERED with dog hair. Now, he's 7 years old and we've been taking him here since he was a puppy, and I've never seen it this bad (only once before I had to get an extra brush). Called and spoke to Charlene (store manager) and she was VERY professional. Refunded the $64 and also gave us a complimentary Furminator for next time. She said "you know you didn't brush a husky well unless you're WEARING their fur". Ain't that the truth. lol Took him back in this weekend on 10/14/17 and had Sylvia do his groom. (She was recommended by Charlene as the "preferred groomer"). Oh MYYY did she ever do an awesome job. Thank you Charlene and THANK YOU Sylvia for doing a fantastic job on our little boy. My first blog feedback was good because first groomer was gentle with my dog. Every other groomers and boarder have said my dog is one of the most sweetest "angel" in his report. I adopted him when he was 5yrs old and now 9yrs later, he's still a good boy. Well behaved and has spunk. When I brought my dog in for grooming last week (2nd time) to this Germann/Gilbert location, the groomer Nicole didn't disclose that she didn't do his nails until when I asked. She didn't even offer to reduce the cost . I saw the store manager who met my dog personally with another employee who is involved with employees / customer relations after picking up my dog from the groomers. My dog is deaf and going blind (14yrs old +) and he was very nervous and shaking, per the groomer Nicole. First, she said his nails were already short and I asked her to repeat what she just said because the purpose of his grooming was to have his nails trimmed. She then changed her story. Another girl who was watching my dog while I went up front of the store, to pay my bill, came back with the remark that my dog was aggressive and tried to bite and it was in previous notes. Interesting because prior groomer didn't mention this before after my dog being aggressive or try to bite. (This was not the groomer telling me this but someone else) I really find this hard to believe this. I've been to PetDepot and other groomers, who have always said my dog was an angel in the past 9years I've had him. First of all, if you're rough with the dog and you're hurting them, they will show you by yelping or fighting you off. When I brought my dog home, I notice his hair was not cut but shaved unevenly to the skin. Perhaps, I should have asked for prior groomer, but I was told by the lady who was watching my dog while I went to the front to pay the bill, that we are not welcomed back. I told the store manager who mentioned there were many other complaints about that grooming department. He was shocked that the employee told me not to come back. I guess they didn't know I BLOG... good or bad! To Petsmart groomers! It's time to have training in customer service and don't LIE! and don't be rude! Don't charge for a service you didn't perform! To the consumers.... Don't forget to ask the groomer if they did their nails. It is part of the grooming job. Other Petsmart stores in the West part of town, may skip that and not tell you. If you are not happy to see my dogs, then I am not going to leave them with you. The staff did not help as our hands were full with 2 dogs when they asked for information. We bought our relinquished Pacman frog (horned frog) here my little cutie pie named Packie. I suggested Manny (as in Pacquiao), but he did not want to have anything to do with that. He now sits, comfortably in our 30 gallon terrarium. We get some of our pet foods and needs here such as coco mulch (love that stuff as an odorless substrate) crickets, meal worms and wax worms. One time, a nice employee got my little cutie pie some wax worms. I know that he was just being helpful when he informed my son that they turn into beetles. "No they don't, the meal worms turn into Darkling beetles and wax worms turn into moths." Poor guy, he didn't know he was talking to a 7 year old future entomologist...hahaha! They keep this place neat and organized. I also love the fact that they will take any unwanted pets, no questions asked. read more

The online system of making appointments was very convenient. We made an appointment very easily for a bath, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing. When we arrived, they told us it would be about 3 hours and they would call when our dog was done. We told them that he normally gives us a hard time with his nails just as a heads up. We went home and 4 hours went by. I called and they said our dog was okay but he didn't really like the blower so they were giving him breaks. When we came to pick him up, they didn't mention anything else, just that he didn't like the blower so they let him air dry a little longer in the kennel. When we got home we realized that only three out of the nails on his front paws were clipped. We weren't surprised since but it was disappointing that no one mentioned it when we picked our dog up. We never would have expected a refund because we don't expect them to wrestle with our 65 pound dog, but I feel like its pretty dishonest not to mention that a service we paid for wasn't able to be completed. read more

I can't speak for the Vet portion, dog training or any other service, except the grooming dept. I take my dog in there during the Winter to get groomed, shampooed and nails clipped, because sometimes its too cold out to dry him off. The girls in the Grooming dept. are very nice and accomodating. They treat my dog well, and always have nice compliments about him. T They also do an excellent job and his nails are always done right. I've taken him elsewhere ONCE and they trimmed his nails down so much, that it hurt him to jump. I thought he had an arthritic condition, when I realized that he had his nails done, and sure enough, he bounced back a week later. These girls know what they're doing, and a couple of them have been there for a few years, as I recognize at least one or 2 of them every time I go in. Even to shop. Thanks ladies! read more

So MANY FISHES!!! There is this deal where a lot of the fishes are for $1. My boyfriend and I were looking for fishes because we wanted to have an aquarium in our house. We initially went to Walmart but they didn't have fishes (well the one we went to didn't, at least). So we looked for the nearest one and came across here. We didn't expect to get so many fishes but a LOT of them were for $1. I think on the price sticker, it said this promotion is good until July 1st. All you need is to become a member at PetSmart, which takes literally like 2 minutes to sign up for FREE. Anyway, we will be back VERY SOON to get more fishes. read more

He absolutely loves Jenna and even when we have gone in aside from training he always runs to Jenna when he sees her! Groomer (Danyel) is the worst!!! A few months ago we took our dog in to be groomed. They didn't have her rabies on file. That was the 4th time in a row that we had to go next door to Banfield and get a copy of the rabies to provide them. I asked why it wasn't saved in there system when our other dogs were saved. Danyel told me that it was Banfields fault even though that's impossible since grooming puts rabies in there own system. Then she tells me she is in charge and that it's the computer systems fault and proceeded to argue and make things up just to argue. I said that since she is in charge that ultimately she is responsible and she told me she is not in charge of the computer system. The next day I spoke with the store manager Sharlene. She apologized for Danyel and offered me a free grooming for my dog if we would give them another chance. Today we took another one of our dogs in for grooming and asked about the free grooming. After 4 different employees read pages of notes under our account Danyel comes out of the back and tells us that the free grooming would have to be at another location cause of what happened and again said because of the situation with banfield our dog wasn't welcome at there salon. I asked for the store manager Sharlene who tells me that she personally put notes in to give us a free grooming but then Danyel had gone back in the system and changed everything to say we weren't allowed there. We went back up to banfield so we could get copies of our rabies vaccines to take to petco since we can no longer trust petsmart. Store manager Sharlene gave us a gift card and apologized again for Danyel and said that she had been demoted from shift leader after the first incident but Danyel was still working after deliberately lying about her customers and defying her own manager. Sharlene offered to pay for grooming at other petsmart locations to make things right. I shouldn't have to go to another location because an employee was so devious and conniving that she would treat customers this way and then change what her manager puts in the system just because she could. Sharlene was very apologetic but I don't know how petsmart can employ someone that does this to customers and her own managers. I guess the inmates run the asylum at petsmart. We will take our business somewhere else. Hopefully petsmart corporate can figure out that this is ridiculous. Having an employee write notes about customers that were lies and then change the notes from the manager and still be employed is unbelievable!!!!! read more

I went in to this store because the one I used was closed (Walmart took their space to build another grocery section). All I wanted was a dog bath (85 lb dogs that do not like water get bathed by pros, not me). They informed me I could not have my dog bathed at their store because they did not have shot records (my dog had all of his tags to prove current shots). If I wanted the dog bath I would have to get new shots. What kind of chain store does not transfer records from a closing store to the new location? Well, his shots were due in a few months anyway so I went along with the scam. So, now I have one clean, health dog. All is good, right? WRONG!!! A few weeks later my cell phone started ringing. It was Petsmart soliciting other "wonderful services and saving opportunities" and was I interested. No, I was not. After the fourth call I informed them I had given my cell number only in the event that something happened to my dog while he was in their care. They did not have my permission to use my number for any type of sales call and should cease immediately. I never went back. Snacks and squeaky toys can be purchased anywhere. While I am paying a little more for my dog bath than I was at PetSmart, it is worth it not to be scammed into extra medical bills and sales calls. read more

Horrified by my experience when buying a fish. Went in, asked the fish guy for help and he went on to give me an extremely annoyed look and told me It would be a few minutes. I watched him stand there for 17 minutes doing absolutely nothing. While waiting I noticed 2 dead fish floating at the top of a "shark something" tank. When he finally made his way over to me he said "what do you want" and took his sweet time getting the fish. He told me nothing about the care taking and shoved the bag in my face. The water in the bag was burning hot, unlike the water from a different PetSmart I had been to earlier. He even went on to question me as if I didn't already what I was doing. This guy is the scum of the earth and NEEDS to be fired. Wouldn't be surprised if all the fish in that store end up dead from his improper care. Such an awful rude man. This review is strictly for their grooming area. We came here a couple months ago (I kept forgetting to write my review) and took our 7 year old boxer for a grooming session. All we wanted was his nails clipped and a shampoo/dry. Firstly we got attitude from the larger lady behind the counter especially about our dogs vaccinations. She didn't know how to read the paperwork from the vet showing he just received his vaccinations and it's good for three years. It clearly showed the date we got them and how long they were good for but she kept arguing with me about it. Finally once I got her to understand she seemed to reluctantly put this info in their system. It was like she wanted to be able to reject our pup so she wouldn't have to deal with another dog on a Saturday. Next I talked to them about his nails. They needed to be clipped but earlier that morning he had torn one at the dog park and they refused to touch it. It wasn't bleeding or anything it just needed to be trimmed and shaped so it was smooth. She acted like this was a huge deal as if I asked her to do surgery on his nail. Lol Honestly this woman was ridiculous. You're a groomer don't you see torn, messed up nails all the time? Deal with it, geez! No one explained the process or gave us a wait time or anything even knowing we had never been to Petsmart for their grooming salon before. I assumed since an appointment had been made that once we brought him they would immediately take him and get started. This wasn't the case. We waited and waited and waited and waited....our boxer sat in a crate for nearly 3 hours before anyone did anything with him. Finally after 3 1/2 hours they said he was ready. FYI, I know he sat in a crate for 3 hours before they did their half hour of work because his crate was right by the door they were walking in and out of and we could see him. Anyhow, I don't know what they did but he was terrified!!! He was shaking involuntarily and his eyes were huge, he looked completely spooked!! Our boxer is an extremely gentle soul and it was clear that whoever handled him was being overly harsh. I will never take him to this location ever again. They clearly didn't care about us or the fact that they're supposed to be caring for our dog. read more

Dear Crossroads Towne Center, My husband and I have been using Petsmart for over 12 years and on Dec 3, 2015 we've had the absolute worst experience in your grooming department with your associate named Crystal and never will be returning. As soon as my husband and I walked in we could tell she didn't want to be there. She had an attitude with us from the very beginning because she could not find us in the new system. I told her we are in there because we've been coming here to get our 2 dogs nails trimmed for the past 2 years every 3 weeks since I've moved to Chandler. She started to glare at us and say "Are YOU sure you've been to this store?" I told her she could probably find me by my last name which she did. I also asked her to change my last name in the system since I got married last month which she refused to do. I then proceeded to tell her that I wanted two groomers to help trim my youngest dogs nails because he tries to escape and is very nervous. She says "ok" then takes my dog by herself to do his nails. He then got very wiggly and she started to get forceful with him then he proceeded to cry out in pain over and over. My husband looked at the other associate who was just sitting there at the counter texting on her phone and said "excuse me, we asked for a two assist with our dog, why didn't she listen?" And she responded "Crystal doesn't work well with others, she works alone." We told her to go back and help because clearly our dog was uncomfortable and hurting. She went to Crystal laughing where they proceeded to be rough with him and he kept crying. I then told them to stop because they were done hurting my dog especially not listening to the customers request from the beginning. Crystal then handed me the dog and said "NEVER come back!" I then went up front in tears telling the manager Stephanie what happened where she apologized over and over and said she would take care of it. Stephanie was very kind and did not make us pay for the horrible unacceptable service. It's just extremely upsetting because my dogs, my husband, and I really loved shopping here but after this experience not anymore. My dogs never had cried out in pain with any other groomers at this location till Thursday Dec 3. Please be more careful of the groomers your store hires because our dogs are our family and we never want them to be abused. I can take someone being rude to me but not when they hurt my dogs and refuse to listen to customer requests. read more

My family and I took our 8 month old puppy to get his first grooming and the woman in charge was extremely inconsiderate. He is young and has not been around dogs all that often so when she just put him on the floor and left him on his own, he got nervous and she didn't even comfort him or make any effort to introduce him to the other dogs. She took him into the holding room for maybe a minute and said that she would not groom him. She clearly had no compassion for dogs or at the very least had little patience for new dogs. Thought about getting a kitten for my family. Went to the adoption center for information and how to adopt. The adoption lady ask if I had younger kids, I informed her that I had a 6 and 3 year old. She then went into a very long rant about Petsmart being very reluctant to adopt kittens to family's with younger children. I was baffled by her rant, I was thinking isn't that 90 percent of your cliental, families with younger children. After her rant she did tell me of other places were I could go. A littler silver-lining. After that she turn around and walked away without saying anything else. Do not trust these guys at all! Their vet staff is uncooperative and incompetent. My dog was brought there to get the appropriate documents for shipping him to me and they could not furnish the correct paperwork. They furnished everything but a health certificate for my pet. Instead of showing an ounce of compassion and working with us they wanted to just charge us another $100 and delay us another week. I will never purchase another item or enter the store. Instead I will take my money to a quality store and/ or vet hospital and get things done right the first time. Stay away from this establishment. read more

This seems to be the PetSmart location that I frequent most often as it is most convenient to my home and errands that I run. This store is typically fairly busy and they generally have staff to help with needs or questions. As most know, you can bring your dogs to shop with you, which is kind of fun and great for training your dog how to behave when out in public and not at a park. This location also has a vet clinic although I have not used it. the only reason I did not go full 5 stars here is because I feel like it could be a bit cleaner. I realize this must be a hard place to keep looking sanitized but maybe a midday sweep and mop would be good. read more

I'm giving this place a 3 because a good portion of the experiences here have been fine. Had a 1/2 hour convo with one of the venders one time and she was so sweet and friendly! But last time I went to the grooming area it was not a good experience. I took my dog to get his nails clipped. He's very wiggley so I understand it's going to be difficult to clip them (henceforth why I don't do it). However, I saw the groomers putting him in a sort of headlock, which again, I understand needs to be done since he's squirmy. When I came in to get him they said they could not finish because he bit one of the groomers. Of course I asked her if she was all right, I'm so sorry, which she said she was totally fine. She and one of the other Groomers were even apologetic. But the other girl was very short and said "he bit her so we can't finish and if he does it again he can't come back." Now I get it if that's your policy but the way she said it - I did not feel was professional. I know it's a cliche but it's not what she said, its how she said it. We've been taking him to petsmart for 3 years, even taken classes, and he's never had an issue. The fact that she was rude about the situation really turned me off to coming here for grooming services. I mean, you've got him in a headlock, what do you expect?! He's probably going to get nervous and defensive. Again for the most part everythings been fine. I'll probably Return for products but have found a new groomer to take our dog to. read more

Absolute worst service experience I have ever encountered. My fiancé went into this location after scheduling an appointment for our dog to get cut, washed, teeth cleaned, and nails trimmed. The price they quoted us was between $55-$62 over the phone. Once we arrived, the woman told us it would be $89 for those services. We informed them we were quoted something else over the phone and she stated "well you're wrong." We asked for a manager and he eventually told us they would do it for $65. The manager went to instruct his employees they need to charge $65 for the services and the employee stated they couldn't get our dog in today because a walk in just came in and they filled our spot with the walk in. Even the manager was in shock. Awful customer service and employees working at this location! I would not recommend to anyone! read more
