Andy is absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, he made both me and Milo feel totally comfortable. Milo can be a bit nervous with grooming, but Andy was so gentle and patient with him it really made a difference. When I picked Milo up, he looked incredible! His coat was soft, clean, and perfectly trimmed. Andy even added a little bandana that made Milo look extra adorable. You can tell Andy genuinely cares about the dogs he works with. BEST DOODLE GROOMERS IN CHICAGO. Ariel is a goddess. Instead of shaving my mini goldendoodle's ears off, she took the time to work through her matted fur. I had no clue how quickly these dogs matte. They do. Ariel & Andy and THIS PETSMART -- not other locations -- were able to get Duchess in the very next morning and out before noon. Amazing. Worst grooming experience ever. Took my Golden Doodle in for a grooming (6 week interim). I'm a diligent and responsible dog dad who brushes, bathes and even combs out my doodles hair in between visits. I took my little man in for a nice grooming since my normal groomer was booked solid and I didn't want to continue to wait beyond my 6 weeks. I explained to the new groomer how important it was to not cut his hair completely off and if there is a little rough areas please let me know via a phone call. Fast forward, I come in to pick my little up and he's completely shaven down to the skin. I'm completely disappointed and disgusted by this grooming experience and will never patronize this facility again. I will also include a picture of my little guys normal grooming "look" and his grooming I received at this location below. He looks like a completely different dog and breed. I have a German shepherd husky and I don't normally bring him to six corners for his grooming but had no choice due to slots, I arrive on time to my appointment and I'm greeted by Anahi with a sigh and a dismissive attitude. She then proceeds with protocol and asks if he will be okay with her touching him and I respond with a yes. My dog is reactive with other dogs and this is on his profile and it's never been a problem because I'm sure this is no groomers first rodeo. I left feeling uneasy and anxious. I get a call 2 HOURS later to come pick up my dog because he wasn't letting her do her job......my dog is 8yrs and he's never harmed anyone or rebelled against a groomer. I am annoyed at this point because why did it take 2hrs? Not only did I waste time and gas but my dog was probably in that crate anxiously waiting too. I picked him up and he was definitely looking stressed and no work was done at all. I later asked to talk to Anahi and she very casually told me she tried to do her job for those 2hrs and she couldn't. It's the attitude and communication that mainly had me unpleased with the "service". I can make a million assumptions as to why she didn't want to service my "mean" looking dog but at the end of the day it was unprofessional. Don't recommend this groomer. This is a smaller Petsmart location so they don't carry a good selection of products. If you're looking to just buy "the basics" for your pet, then they should carry it here. Other stuff, not so much. I came here to buy a filter for my turtle tank and they didn't really carry a good selection. Everything was just too big. They didn't carry anything for small tanks. One of the employees there said that larger stores should have what I'm looking for. Also, not much selection for turtle food. The girl that helped me was nice and gave me suggestions but she had to keep going to the back to ask her manager to get the answers to my question. A bit annoying especially if you're in a hurry. Also, not much pets here. They do sometimes have cats, but nothing else other than fish. I like to look at the birds, hamsters, and guneai pigs while I'm at a Pet store. This PetSmart is great! From the person we scheduled a nail trim appointment with to our dog Ziggy getting his nails trimmed, it was a pleasant experience. Cashiers were friendly and Andy in the grooming center was fantastic. He was so amazing to Ziggy and his nails look better than they've ever looked. Terrible experience, if you care about your dog I wouldn't bring it here for grooming. Had an appointment for 2pm, dog is a rescue so has crate issues from being caged for months at animal control. Told staff this and asked for the dog not to be crated, stayed close by so they could ring if they needed me to hold her in between treatments. Went back in an hour later, they hadn't even started the first treatment, dog had been caged the whole time. Was told to come back in 3 hours. Will never come to this petsmart again, such a shame as have had good experiences at other locations. read more

12 minutes ago I go to this store weekly, and the conditions where the cats for adoption are kept are horrible. Cages are unkept. Kittens and cats drinking dirty water. Litter boxes are filthy. If the employees or managers do not have time or even care about taking care of them than they should not be there. Keeping these cats in cages without veterinarian visits or care is immoral. I honestly wish i can adopt them all but the prices are so high just to give them a loving home, and i already have 3. Really sad conditions at this store. read more

I had a cat on hold for adoption. When I came into the store to adopt her, they had no application forms available despite knowing I had her reserved. They told me to come back the next day for forms. They still had no application forms and they gave my cat away to someone else, who, mysteriously, had an application. No one cared. This place is the absolute worst. Don't adopt from there, don't do grooming services, just don't patronize it at all. They don't care about you, your pet, or finding animals homes. read more

Don't bring your pets here! Brought my 2 dogs (lab terrier and maltese) here for bath and grooming and i was really disappointed! I don't think they really gave them a good bath. Found out that groomer Mali who did my dogs haircut wasn't a certified groomer. To my dismay, she gave my maltese dog a terrible uneven haircut- thick on the head and shaved down her body. Her tear stains are still visible and yellowish color by her ear. She didn't even care to do anything when brought it up to her. I know my dog's hair is growing back but to be charged for a full price with this kind of service, their management should really do something about this. Never coming back! read more

I live in walking distance of this Petsmart and I decided to check it out. The first time I went the staff was not friendly or knowledgeable on any of the basic questions I asked about the products . I decided hey maybe the person was knew maybe they are having an off day. I went back again and it was the worse service than before. I was ignored , no offer to help the guy cashier seemed to have an attitude. Unfortunately I will spend my money somewhere else that provides better customer service. I take my cat here for nail trims every 3 weeks and I always had a great experience. Vaneesha treats him like her own cat, and I'm usually in and out of there in 5 minutes without needing to book an appointment. As far as supplies go, I feels like Petsmart has a lot but never what I actually need. There are 2 brands of cat litter that I found to work the best and I wish Petsmart carried them. It's a convenient location and that would be great to pick up the litter when I go in for nail appointments. Keep up the good work Vaneesha! read more

After having a TERRIBLE grooming experience at the Petsmart in Village Crossing, I decided to bring my dog here to get groomed. Luckily, I talked to Venetia, I explained to her the situation that I just went through at the other petsmart and she took my dog in to get groomed. I came back about an hour later and she said that he did wonderful. So I will never know what the heck the other people did to my dog that was so traumatizing. I am SO glad I found Venetia and highly recommend her for any grooming services to anyone. I will definitely bring my two boys here back to her in the future. read more

I have been in there a couple of times and won't go again. They attempt to adopt out cats and keep them caged un-kept. The poor things are depressed with eye infections. I asked a clerk if they ever got out and he said once in the morning. So basically they are caged up 24/7????? So why not have staff periodically take them out? And, with all the hygiene products, clean them up and care for them? Basically, I cannot support a place making money off animals when they are blatantly mistreated. I find it extremely hypocritical. Especially when it could be easily fixed. Staff could take them out during downtime. Shoot, I'd volunteer to take them out so they could move and stretch. Anyway, the cats are by the cat food and that is why I go for so I'll order online elsewhere. If you care about animals and want to see them mistreated while you pick up yours supplies this isn't the place to go. It's depressing and apparently the staff there don't seem to have any empathy for them. They might as well be in a caged at a hardware store because the place that purportedly catering to animals and their well being isn't doing them any justice.. but the sure the heck are profiting off it. read more

Sounded like she wanted out and I had to pick her up as she was too stressed out. She had never had this problem before. I truly believe they did something to her while she was there. They claim it was too many dogs around, but again, never had a problem at the Elston location which we usually go to. Thought we try the location closer but this is really upsetting. I went in looking for help with a coupon I had for a item i bought 3 days ago. The lady ended up looking really annoyed that I wanted help with my coupon. She saw I had purchased the item at a different location and told me I needed to go to the store I bought it from to receive my money back. Clearly just did not want to help me. So i agreed to repurchase the 30 pound bag, carried it up to the front to have them easily scan it. so that i could get my money back. Took our dog in for a puppy bath and nails to get done but when we got him, looks like nothing was done. Nails are still dirty, hair still looked the same as if he didn't shower. Stylist said he had no experience working with puppy's and he didn't want to work much on his nails to not stress him out. Up until this morning, I would have given the grooming salon at this location 4 stars. We have been bringing our two poodle mixes here for regular grooms since the store opened. We've experienced a couple of scheduling hiccups, but we've always been able to look past them--one time I scheduled an early groom and waited 30 minutes outside the store for a manager to open the store and another time my dogs were done 3 hours later than scheduled which caused me to have to cancel plans with my nieces. In both of those instances, the customer service follow-up was satisfactory (discounted services). This morning, however, was a disaster in customer service. I only live 5 minutes from this store and set out with my two small dogs and 9 month old baby in single digit temperatures--which is cumbersome to say the least. I pulled into the parking lot at 9:05 for my 9:00 groom. By the time I got inside with all 3 tiny beings in tow, it was probably 9:10. The woman behind the desk (who turned out to be the manager) let the groomers know I was there and left. The groomer, Nomee, came out and told me she could only take one dog since it was now 9:15 and I'd have to bring the other back at 2:00. I asked for clarification and she said something about the system wouldn't let her take both dogs since I was late. I told her I didn't understand how 15 minutes could make that big of a difference and she said it did because she's booked all day. She asked if I'd still like to get them groomed today or reschedule. I told her that was very inconvenient and took both dogs and walked out. I took a moment to collect myself then walked back in and asked to speak to her manager. I was surprised when the same woman who had greeted me came out--she must have known what was about to happen? And why didn't she start to check me in while I was waiting on the groomer? She told me the same thing as the groomer: since I was late (she says to the exhausted new mom with a baby strapped to her) the system wouldn't let her groom both dogs. She clumsily and half-heartedly offered another solution (a different groomer could groom the second dog), but when I agreed she back-pedaled and said he would be sitting in a kennel all morning while he waits because that groomer is booked too. I asked for leeway and a bit of understanding, but she just repeated that the system wouldn't allow her to groom both dogs. I told her that I've been a regular customer since they opened and that she was about to lose two clients. She said, "I'm sorry you feel that way." I walked out requesting that they remove my dogs from the system. I know I was late. I understand that backs them up. All I was asking for was to be treated as an individual and for these two employees to show me a bit of empathy. Instead of arguing with me for 20 minutes, they could have taken my dogs back and gotten started. They could have helped a new mom out instead of repeating some BS about "the system." Needless to say, we will not be returning. Terrible customer service. They clearly did not care to keep a loyal customer of 2-3 years. read more

I'm so glad they canceled me the day of my appointment after reading all these reviews. I had called the week before to make an appointment and informed them this would be my cat first professional grooming experience. They did sound as if they were hesitant to make an appointment by telling me if my cat gets aggressive they'll have to stop the service and so forth on it just sounded as if they were coming up with different scenarios as to why they'd possibly need to stop or cancel my cat service. I still went on ahead and made an appointment due to this location being my neighborhood store at 6 Corners. I luckily was able to schedule my cat last minute at Zulu. The service at Zulu is AWESOME!!! 5 STAR RATINGS and much cheaper then Petsmart. I couldn't have asked more. Had Petsmart not canceled me last minute I would've not known about Zulu. This is a smaller location compared to others around and out the city. I went here cause it's closest to my house. Online booking is very convenient and easy which I like the most but my experience with the bathing services was just okay. I usually give my baby a bath at home but wanted to try petsmart to see how it goes. I only wanted a simple, basic bath for my dog because I did groom him a couple times and his fur didn't grow back the same so I wanted to take a break from giving him anymore cuts. I brush him everyday so he doesn't shed a lot. I felt like the groomer wanted me to upgrade my package from a basic to an advanced package which I didn't want to. After four hours, I get call that my baby was ready to be picked up. Four hours for a basic bath? C'mon now, she says that's how long it usually takes. Come to pick him up, I asked how was he cause he's only a year and a half, so he still fears the water. She kinda made it clear and stated that if i don't get the advance package next time then don't bring him back cause it was too hard to comb through his fur and that he needs a de-shedding treatment. First off, he's my pet and not yours. With your expertise and long, fake acrylic nails, you don't know what's best for MY dog. Is it even sanitary to have those nails and come into contact with pets on a daily? I comb his fur everyday and he doesn't shed often, his fur is so soft. I felt like it was just an excuse to get me to purchase an add-on service so with the treatment, she doesn't have to work so hard. But it's okay, I'm not going to support an establishment that doesn't want my service. Please go to establishments that respects what you want, instead of telling you not to come back unless you get what they tell you to get. read more

I truly was sooooo excited when I found out there was going to be a Petsmart just 5 minutes from where I live. But this just is not working. I went in there today. It is so cramped. Not a pleasure at all to shop here. It feels like someone tried to open a Petsmart out of their garage. So disappointing. Of course, limited selection. They did not carry the kitten food (Nutromax) I usually buy at other Petsmarts. But if you have room for a cute cat, they have about 3 waiting for a good loving home. This is a micro store which means they don't carry all brands, etc. I have asked the manager is they are ever bringing Fromm , and he said that they are working on it. The selections are good considering it's smaller size, and it's a very convenient location. Shortly thereafter I receive a call asking me if I knew what breed of dog I have. I do. He is not a mix. He is a pure breed.
