You will find most pet supplies here for your dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, and more. Staff members I've encountered have been friendly, and helpful, especially the cashiers. Besides pet food and supplies, they offer grooming, training, adoption, and other services. When you order online, you can either have it shipped to your address, or you can pick up at the store within a couple hours. I've always had a good experience at this location and will continue to shop here for my dogs. read more

Do not come to this Petsmart Lake Elsinore location. On April 2nd my dog (maltipoo) was groomed by Jessica (full bath and cut). When I picked him up, Jessica was no longer there and my dog was given to me by another person. No on mentioned anything at all about him being burned and cut with the clippers. Two days later (because I work 12 hr shifts) I came home at midnight on April 4th, noticed my dog was continuously licking his private area. When I turned him on his back to see why he was licking I began to notice the burns and cuts under his right arm, on his scrotum and his penis was burned. The following morning I called the grooming manager (Amanda) and told her what happened. No apology, no customer service or empathy AT ALL. On the contrary I was told I had to prove the allegations because maybe he already had this and I "just didn't notice." Really??? I was told to take the dog the vet and prove that it was from their grooming service that the dog had the burns. I immediately did just that. If I took the dog to any vet I have to upfront the bill money and ask for a refund if proven right, and if not I had to go to their recommended vet and they would pay, still ONLY if proven. I took him to their recommendation because I knew the vet would agree, (Banfield vet in Murrieta, great service btw). The vet ruled in our favor and said yes definitely from the grooming and he treated the burn with antibiotic shot and gave him pain meds and antibiotic cream. Today I went to get a refund for the grooming service and the Petsmart store manager George (tall tan skinned bald man), apparently knew why I was there when I asked for the manager because he just said, "shel refund you" as he pointed to another employee. He didn't make any eye contact with me nor give any apology. That's the worse part of all this. We never once raised our voice or acted out of anger and never once were we given an apology by any of the employees at this location. Very sad! We've brought our 3 baby dogs here a few times and are always happy with the results. Specifically, we are absolutely thrilled with Lailynn's grooming services! She is truly a gem. I took my golden retriever (who can be a little nervous with grooming) and Lailynn immediately put her at ease with her calm, kind, and gentle approach. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted. Everything from coat length to paw trim details and she completely nailed it. Not only did my girl come back looking absolutely gorgeous, but she was so relaxed and happy afterward, which says everything about how well she was treated. Lailynn clearly cares deeply about the dogs she works with, and it shows in every thoughtful touch and extra effort she puts in. I couldn't be happier, and honestly, neither could my pup. There was no mention that some records would not be accepted if they had stickers or handwriting (picture). I didn't bring anything crazy- just my dog's vaccine record that has worked everywhere else. If you have an out-there policy, please make it very clear so folks can bring what's needed. The manager in the grooming department is less than kind and very unprofessional. When a customer comes in and there is a problem with scheduling, even if Petsmart didn't make the scheduling error, (but in this case it actually was their fault), the right way to handle that is to simply apologize to the customer and tell them that you will certainly look into it and work on improving the process. That you're sorry for the inconvenience. That is all it would have taken. Unfortunately, she did nothing like that. What she did was kept telling me she could book me for tomorrow over and over with a look on her face that said I was irritating her. I said I understood, but since this has happened twice what is going to be done to prevent it from happening again? She simply just repeated herself. It was then that I said, I appreciated her trying to help me and rebook but perhaps there might need to be some more training on scheduling. It must have upset her because she decided to scold me telling me that what she does with her employees is her business and I needed to let her worry about that and just mind my own business. That if I wasn't happy perhaps I should go somewhere else. WOW!! What I said was not a personal attack rather a statement, which I should have been allowed to make since I had the same problem twice with them. With a full room of customers what could I do. I wasn't going to raise my voice or fight with her and certainly didn't feel respected. All I could do was take my dog and go. Clearly, if you have an issue with this store be mindful you may not get the service you pay for and definitely do not get staff that knows how customer service works. Be sure to read through all the reviews as many are not from valid customers. As you read further you will see which are actual customers and which are plants placed to fluff up their review. I should have been more aware. Lesson learned. read more

Both times I took my puppy in for grooming and although he was dirty he looked worse on pickup. He went in a Bichon and came out a bald poodle. I was even charged for dematting, huh? I never mentioned anything to them about this situation and they told me that he's such a great little guy such warm and cuddling dog, that's why his name fits him well. I tried petsmart today for their grooming services. I really wish I didn't. Took my doggy in today for a basic wash and brush for $38. She's nursing, and I didn't want a full groom. I just wanted her clean since she gave birth two weeks ago. I did research before even going, and petsmart has no policy to bring a nursing dog. When I got there, SOREN was so rude for no reason, not a good morning, a slight smile. She looked miserable. It's only 9 a.m., girl! She tried arguing with me about not being able to take her in. I should have trusted my instinct. But Jessica, another groomer, interrupted and said she could take her in. However, I had to pay extra for express service ( what is this an oil change) OK fine charge me whatever. She checks her and tells me her tail matted blah blah takes her in to bathe her she starts hollering at Jessica two separate times. Once that, my dog peed second that she pooped. That's when she decided that after 20 minutes after drop off that she couldn't proceed to finish the service on my Yorkie. OK, I took her back slightly wet, and they gave me a 20 percent off, which my total was $43 for a bad bath. Next time, I will wait for my groomer to have availability. I never wrote a review during the time but this was from a year ago I took my cat in to get groomed and they left him looking horrible and he had a wound on the back of his neck . I emailed them saying what had happed so they called me and said they'd call me again to resolve it and never heard anything ever again . I love Petsmart! This location is not too shabby. However, of all the Petsmarts I have ever been to, this place doesn't do as great a job with their tanks. The water quality doesn't seem as crystal clear, the glass isn't wiped, and the gravel seems dirty. I've taken several trips back and forth here to switch out fish that were sick....which you could've seen the ich on them, if the glass was clean to see through. I walked in and headed over to the fish area and was there waiting for someone to come ask if I needed help but not a single employee did. Don't even bother getting a grooming done at the Lake Elsinore Petsmart. This was my fourth time trying to get my Jack Russell terrier groomed through them. They canceled on me same day the first three times I figured the fourth time would be the charm but unfortunately I get there for a 7 am appointment and their lights "cannot turn on". I waited for an hour before I gave up and scheduled another appointment at the a Murrieta store (when I have never had issues w the grooming). read more

First of all I have been here with my dogs regularly for nearly 6 years. My dogs have been nicked and poorly cut several times, we have dealt with it and moved on but now no more. We have even looked past the overpriced service. I booked an appointment online 2 weeks ago and filled out the online questionnaire as I have done several times. One of my dogs has a mild heart murmur. Never been a big deal before. When we went in with our dogs today we were told that because my dog has a heart murmur that they can only do an "express" with him. For me that is no big deal. Then the girls disappear to the back and come out and tell us they don't have time and we can't leave our dog. Mind you I booked the appointment 2 weeks ago and already let them know in the questions that he had a heart murmur. I had the appointment time booked. Not sure I understand the problem if now it just means they have to do it faster. So instead of apologizing or providing any kind of alternate solution they just said they didn't have time and there was nothing that could be done. Now 2 of the girls were standing around doing nothing. Yet all they could tell me was that was PetSmart policy and they didn't have time. They repeated that several times and again no apology. However I quickly did get a text that my dogs appointments were canceled. Talk about an extra throat kick on the way out. We had heard that their customer service has been going down hill for a while and good groomers have been leaving but my goodness I hadn't experienced it like this till today. Plenty of other alternatives out there. Time to start exploring more of those. Sorry PetSmart in Lake Elsinore but we won't be doing business with you again. TRAINING- Rommel is GREAT. I have two pups in now and the others are getting started. He does a great job with the fur kids and seems to enjoy what he does. The Petsmart itself is on the smaller side but it always has what we need plus some. The staff is always helpful as are the vendors that frequent (usually in the dog food section). I have not year used the groomers at this location however I do plan on doing so soon. read more

I have been taken my pet here probably over a year since we took him in to our home and he is good family dog. Martha and Anissa always have been friendly and they have been always good to our pet. He is having some health issues so we will not be taking him here for his safety and they have brought to my attention which is very caring to me. Came in for crickets an hour ago. I usually go to Petco because their prices and service are consistently better, but they were out today. First off, two employees saw me walk back to the pet care counter, made eye contact, then continued talking and laughing at the cash register. I'm pretty laid back so I wandered for a few minutes before asking for help. I asked for two bags of 100 large, since crickets die easily when the bag is overcrowded and I had a 25 min drive home. She got them (slower than average) but when I looked at the bag I noticed that there was only a tiny piece of egg crate in each and she used the small sized bag which doesn't supply a lot of space or air. I politely asked for more egg crate but the employee gave me a bit of attitude about it. She must be ok with doing a sub-par job, which makes me concerned for the animals under her care. At the cash register I noticed that not only were the crickets much smaller than usual (which I didn't even mention) but there was a pile of dead ones at the bottom of each bag. I understand it happens but the employee should have seen and acknowledged it. Instead I had to insist that the cashier remove at least ten crickets from my bill. I got home and immediately counted and it turns out there were a whopping 29 dead crickets (for a total of 165 live ones after I counted) So I still overpaid by 3 dollars. I'm pretty sure the one that got the crickets was the pet care manager too, so I guess that's the kind of employee that gets rewarded around here. If good service had been provided I may have given petsmart another try in the future, but instead I got the same consistently shitty impression of this company. read more

For at least a year I've been buying crickets here by placing an online order and picking up in the store, usually on the same day. For my last cricket purchase, I didn't make it into the store for a few days and when I searched for the order in my email I noticed another email said that I had already picked up the order. I showed this to the cashier and she had to get someone else, I think it was the manager, to help. Their records showed that I picked up and my ID was checked. Well, I definitely did not pick up the crickets and it was very disconcerting that it said my ID was checked. The manager said she would have to call the general manager. All this for $4.35 of crickets! At that point, I told her to just get me a new order of crickets. She did give me 15% off of the new order but it still wasn't as low as me buying online. No refund for the first $4.35 that I spent. If this was a large amount of money I would understand her having to call the general manager. The main concern here is that obviously employees need to check IDs better. read more

Where do I start? This was my first time using this grooming service on my 9lb Maltipoo. Called this morning set the appointment for 12 noon. I was told, not asked that she would be bathe in an oatmeal bath, her nails would be filed and that it would be $48 dollars, mind you on the phone when I made the appointment I was told $38. Ok, it's 453pm and since I had not heard from the groomer, I called. I was told she needed 15 more minutes. It's now 529pm. No call so that just walked in, as the groomer who was taking care of my dog was leaving. I asked her if my dog was ready? She said yes. I then get the bill. The bill says $70. Apparently the top dog package was added without me approving it. I was not asked if I wanted this. I have taken my 9 lb dog to get groomed to many places never have I been charged $70!!!! Outrageous! Rip off place! Make sure if you go to say no additions to whatever you have been quoted! Wow! Never again! read more

I have been going to this Pet Smart for years and I want to first apologize for not posting a review a long time ago. The have the BEST customer service any pet shop could EVER give. I want to especially thank MARY, whom was so helpful with me when I asked her opinion on certain things to buy for our new puppy. She was so kind and you could tell she genuinely cared about the well being of our family's new member. I have spoken with MELINDA on the phone a couple of times and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in regards to signing up for puppy training. This goes for the grooming department, I want to give a big thanks because they did an awesome job on my baby yesterday! They were so busy, the line was out the door for grooming and they still managed to receive us with a smile and treated my fur baby so gently. I had asked them to cut my Shih Tzu's hair short because it gets in his food and eyes and because his hair grows out super fast. I also asked them to be gentle with his back legs because he has some arthritis, and when he was all done, it was a perfect job! His hair was on point, short like I had asked, and he seemed happy because they were gentle with him. I have gone to so many petsmarts in the past because I recently moved to Canyon Hills from Ontario San Bernardino county and let me tell you that it's the best grooming session I have experienced. I Love my little boy and I always get nervous when taking him to get groomed or for a vet check, but when I dropped him off to get groomed I felt good about it and sure enough he was looking handsome and happy. Recently he was staying at my mother in laws in norco for a month while we were selling our home and he picked up so many "foxtails" and got very dirty! Poor guy was covered in knots!
