I have been going to this Pet Smart for years and I want to first apologize for not posting a review a long time ago. The have the BEST customer service any pet shop could EVER give. I want to especially thank MARY, whom was so helpful with me when I asked her opinion on certain things to buy for our new puppy. She was so kind and you could tell she genuinely cared about the well being of our family's new member. I have spoken with MELINDA on the phone a couple of times and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in regards to signing up for puppy training. This goes for the grooming department, I want to give a big thanks because they did an awesome job on my baby yesterday! They were so busy, the line was out the door for grooming and they still managed to receive us with a smile and treated my fur baby so gently. I had asked them to cut my Shih Tzu's hair short because it gets in his food and eyes and because his hair grows out super fast. I also asked them to be gentle with his back legs because he has some arthritis, and when he was all done, it was a perfect job! His hair was on point, short like I had asked, and he seemed happy because they were gentle with him. I have gone to so many petsmarts in the past because I recently moved to Canyon Hills from Ontario San Bernardino county and let me tell you that it's the best grooming session I have experienced. I Love my little boy and I always get nervous when taking him to get groomed or for a vet check, but when I dropped him off to get groomed I felt good about it and sure enough he was looking handsome and happy. Our dachshund, Stone, is about 2.5 years old and he's never been trimmed (embarrassing!) Recently he was staying at my mother in laws in norco for a month while we were selling our home and he picked up so many "foxtails" and got very dirty! Poor guy was covered in knots! So we decided to try out PetSmart grooming. Best $40 I've ever spent! Took 3 hours and his nails are trimmed all knots are gone and he smells amazing! We have used their grooming service in the past. During summer it was fine to shave our dogs hair at that time! But didn't understand why they would give our dog a poodle type cut when she is a mix shitzu/Maltese. Recently we decided to take our dog back. Needless to say we came back with a hybrid squirrel... we specifically asked not shave her down due to cold weather and she only needed a light trim. Well, they did the complete opposite. Our dog came back completely shaved even around the face. The only hair left was a bushy squirrel tail and choppy around face. She didn't even look like the same dog and still snarled. Very disappointing in the service and company policy of shaving any dog with any matte, granted she didn't have any. We will not be returning to have our dog groomed with Petsmart. read more

Almost every time I've gone in to this store I've been ignored. Previous time I left and even called the store and talked to the manager that had just recently came back from some extended time off, that didn't help much. Tonight I walked in the door, the gal by the registers looked at me and went right back to cleaning or whatever she was doing. So out of curiosity when I get to the fish area I checked what time it was. I stood in the fish Dept where I watched two other employees go about their business. Apparently everyone that works there, their job is not to help the only customer in the store. So as I walked out not spending a penny because I received no help nothing changed, nothing said. I don't feel I should have to find and beg someone to help me get what I want to purchase and usually it about $100 a week. I will be making the drive to the Murrieta PetSmart where when you walk in the door your greeted by everyone and also asked if you need help. The Lake Elsinore store would be better off closing or hiring people like Murrieta has. read more

Just needed to buy a few crickets for a pet lizard. One young lady named Melinda was the only cashier and the only employee visible the entire time I was in the store. She tried to page someone in the back to come to the front. I waited by the crickets for almost ten minutes, then did a search on my own for another employee to assist me. Went back to Melinda who was busy with customers and she requested assistance a second time. Finally, she just asked the next customer to wait while she assisted me. What a great employee this lady is. The entire time she remained professional, helpful and most importantly cheerful. I worked in city government for many years and Melinda is exactly the type of employee you are lucky to have. 5 stars for Melinda! read more

I only have a star there because I had to .I'd give them nothing. I called to let them know that I was under the impression the turtle I adopted was okay and doing better. Now My turtle is sick and his shells top layer is cracking off . I called and they said they will get back to me , maybe I should call his vet . I call his vet and she says well he still should have been on medication if you could still see the spot on his shell he wasn't healed all the way . I call lake Elsinore store and let them know she told me that and a worker on the phone says well I don't know why his vet said that maybe they just want to take your money . Tells me she will call his vet and get back to me , I guess they failed to let me know he was still on medication , Calcium which plays a huge part in the nutritions that turtles need. I called and asked to talk to a manager I get handed to crystal & she tells me . " It was just a mistake because it was far in the back of their medication cabinet " Then begins to tell me well you got him for free " I payed one penny for him right but that gives you an excuse to forget to tell me he was on calcium supplements ? . Then begins to raise her voice on the phone with me saying " WELL WE ARENT PAYING FOR HIS VET BILLS , BYE" . I come to the store to pick up the medication guess he needs it 2 times a day and mind you I have had him 3 almost 4 weeks and now just today finding out he has calcium he needs. Okay so when I come pick it up a so called manager whose cashier number is #679300 , gets me the calcium and I ask her who I was talking to over the phone she says she can't disclose that with me . So I say well can I speak to her , she tells me actually she is at lunch and I can't tell you when she gets back. As soon as I walk away from the register to an aisle to buy my turtle food I hear from the register " Crystal " to the front . I believe she told her I was there. Which is weird because I thought crystal was at lunch but I guess she just got back as I walked away from the register when I seen her by the fish gallery in the left corner of the store when you walk in. Crystal then approaches me giving out her Store manager's name , whom is Philip. Which was odd I thought no names could be given because of employee something. She sure didn't have a problem giving philips name . I begin to check out at register with the same cashier/ manager and I ask can I have your name , because you clearly lied in my face saying crystal was on lunch when she was just around the corner by the fish gallery and she says IM NOT GIVING YOU MY NAME. As I'm walking out I say it's okay I'll just have to figure it out and she turns and says I don't know what your problem is with me still commenting as I'm leaving , I didn't have no problems with her until she lied about crystal , all I wanted to do was speak with her. Wouldn't recommended this store . I will be going in on Sunday to talk to Philip . Hope you guys really take these reviews seriously. If you guys don't have enough employees to really take the time to take care of these animals and make sure they get what they need , you guys should cut down how many animals you carry. Drove here from work last week. I was happy to see that someone was there actually manning the fish section. I had just came from the petco across the street but left because no one was there to help. I've only been to this petsmart once and I was impressed. I bought some plants for my aquarium and the guy was helpful. I accidentally poked a hole in my bag and made a little bit of a mess but they were nice about it and double bagged my plant. I did see that some of their plants had snails. I don't know if they did that on purpose but I made sure mine didn't have any. I will be coming back to this location if I ever need anything else. read more

Puppy Trainng: the puppy training with Rommel is outstanding!! He loves and treats your dog like he/she is his own. I have a husky who is quite challenging at times and Rommel is always patient with him and because of that, my puppy is doing better each day! Rommel also is a great support system for puppy patents and is always positive; he will do anything to help. He is truly a blessing and has a heart of gold. He is the best puppy trainer ever! I highly recommended him. All the employees here are always cheerful and ready to help. I haven't met a person there who wasn't wonderful and had a strong work ethic. I have just had 3 of my dogs bathed/groomed for the first time here, I believe the grooming was done by LIZ. my kids (dogs) are all very hairy and were desperately in need of a bath/cut," SPA DAY". well after LIZ got done with them they all came out looking so beautiful and 5-10 lbs. thinner. I am so very pleased with her work, talents, friendliness, my kids all seemed to of enjoyed themselves. "you know you can tell if your kids aren't happy" I will definitely come back to Liz and definitely recommend her for grooming." This is for ONLINE order pick up: Went into the store, asked an employee and she had no idea what to do. Another employee came out and they discussed this feature for a while. All of this over a 5lb bag of dog food. I mean look, right I can just walk in and grab it, but it's your business that isn't gonna move forward. Sites like chewy.com are honestly much better and WAY cheaper. I just needed a small bag of dog food and it was a huge hassle. Hope you guys can turn it around. read more

My dog Charlie was having anxiety attacks when me and my husband would leave our apartment. He would chew up my door and make himself trow up. We tried just about EVERYTHING. We went into petmsmart to buy him a thunder shirt to see if it will help. We started talking to Rommel and he explained that with training he could gain confidence and stop the chewing. We signed him up for training classes. He was so patient with Charlie and really made a HUGE difference. We are so grateful. Rommel is truely a GREAT DOG TRAINER. read more

I bought 2 beautiful leopard geckos from this location, even though in the back of my mind I wasn't too thrilled about their 14 day warranty. Where as at petco you get a 30 day warranty. So after one of the geckos jumped out of my husbands hands and started dragging its hind legs, I called petsmart to use my 14 day warranty and have it taken to the vet. The lady I spoke to said they would take my gecko, but I wouldn't be able to buy him back or purchase animals from them in the future. In the past I had a chameleon that I purchased from petco, it had burnt its tail on a heat bulb and petco got him the care he needed and let me buy him back when he was all healed. So I highly recommend not purchasing animals from petsmart, if accidents were to happen with your new pet they treat you as if you're an animal abuser. I don't think that's very professional on their behalf and no way to run a business. I'll be getting my gecko the care he needs, just won't be giving petsmart anymore of my business. read more

This store totally won us over compared to Petco on the other side of the freeway. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful. We loved the manager Amy so we were sad when she switched stores but the new manager is awesome! (Can't ever remember his name but he wears a picture of his cat around his neck a lot) I also love the grooming staff and my boys always look good after. Prices are great too! read more

What's not to love? Took my new little puppy in (since I can't leave her alone yet) to pick up some supplies. She peed everywhere and it was like a party! So this is now the second time this has happened at this pet-smart. No one there knows anything about there Company policy or how to run a store. They don't know what there talking about! Over the phone they say the except pictures of vet records showing that shots are up to date, and they schedule an appointment and tell me to rush down before 6! I speed to get there then they tell me they have to ask a manager for approval but the manager on duty TERI is dumber then a door nail and says she cant do anything till her store manager is back in the next day! So why would they schedule an appointment and tell a client to rush down an bring there dog in just to turn them away. I will never return to this location or any other pet-smart. Its definitely worth the drive to go across the freeway to PETCO or anywhere at that matter!!! read more

I've been using this PetSmart for all my fish related needs since I started my aquarium. The employees seem knowledgeable about the different species of fish and how to care for them. They can also test your aquarium water for free and let you know if any of the water parameters are off. The selection of tank decor and accessories is a lot larger than that of the Petco down the street. The prices also seem pretty reasonable. One of the previous reviews mentioned the glass on the tanks and the tank gravel was dirty. I have not noticed this. In fact, I have gone into the store while employees were cleaning the inside of the glass. Everything's been pretty clear when I've gone. The reason I did 4 stars instead of 5 is because the last time I went there I noticed a couple of guppies had Ich really bad and were probably on the verge of death. I really hope all those tanks aren't connected to each other somehow, or else every fish in the store could potentially be exposed. I'd recommend anyone buying fish from there quarantine your new fish for several days before adding it to your main tank. Don't write them off completely when buying new fish, though. I've personally purchased several fish there and haven't had to deal with any health problems that weren't my own fault. read more

Training - Puppy training with Rommel is wonderful. He is patient and rely loves the dogs. He is good about working around your schedule and my pup loves him. We are going through intermediate now. She has learned so much and benefited from the puppy play time. Grooming - I take my dogs here for grooming as well, usually a monthly nail grind. There is only one woman there I like. I believe her name is Jessie, 'black hair, maybe Latino', and will only take them to her. A few years back they had a new girl working their that took my husky to the back and cut into the quick and made her yelp. Overall, the store is always clean, shelves are stocked and prices are averaged. read more

I wished they gave me an option to give this petsmart ZERO STARS! But they can get one star for effort....for the worst customer service ever. I scheduled an appointment for my dog groom at 6pm last minute because my delivery date is on Monday. I need the dog washed before the baby comes. We rushed from Corona to Elisnore to be there on time. As I walked in told I had an appointment they asked for rabies proof verification. So I did., I showed them a copy on the phone. I been to a Petsmart for his grooming 2 weeks ago at their RANCHO CUCAMONGA LOCATION. THE LADIES THERE ACCEPTED THE VERIFICATION AND TOOK HIM IN IMMEDIATELY. THEY ALSO PROVIDED GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I guess not at their Elisnore location it wasn't good enough. The lady who's supposedly the manager couldn't do anything since her store manager wasn't there. As a "manager" Teri you should be able to provide customer service without being rude and make sure you know your policy. This location turned my dog away twice. Corporate should really look into this location to better train their employees and teach managers policies. Corporate...they (employees) represent your company image and brand....better fix that before you lose customers or lawsuits because a manager said something they weren't supposed to say. read more

I'm not one to write bad Yelp reviews hardly ever, but this place has some of the most terrible customer service I've ever seen! I typically get crickets for my tarantula from this location & I've never had a problem until my last two visits. The first of the two visits, I came in on a slow weekday, there was barely anybody in the store and I walked to where the crickets are located near the fish wall. There was one other gentlemen standing there looking at all the different fish. My boyfriend was getting food for our dog, and noticed I still hadn't been helped after he had already paid and checked out. He asked the cashier if she could send somebody over to help me with the crickets and she paged somebody over the loudspeaker to come. About 10 minutes later, a girl walks up and instead of asking me, or the other gentleman that came in after me, if we needed help with anything (we were both just standing there not looking at anything, clearly waiting to be helped), she didn't even acknowledge either of us and just starts asking this guy what kind of fish he wants, & the man placed quite a large order. My first thought was, wouldn't you ask everybody what they needed and prioritize what was fastest first? I get that the other gentlemen was there before me looking, but the time it takes to take 10 large crickets out and put them into a bag, compared to the time it takes to bag up 10+ different fish, is much shorter. Needless to say, my boyfriend finally came in and grabbed me after waiting in the car for another 10 minutes and we just left. Yesterday, I went in for crickets again. It was a rainy Thursday with barely anybody in the store except a few people buying pet food at the register. I walked to the cricket area, and once again there was no one to be found. My boyfriend walked in behind me, and realized I hadn't been helped, so he went to go get somebody. He walked by an office with an open door with two guys sitting next to each other watching YouTube videos and asked them if they could help us. One of the guys got up and walked to the cashier and told her to page somebody. The cashier finally paged somebody and I waited another 10 minutes before finally someone came from the back to help me. The whole entire ten minutes that I was standing there, I saw two other employees, neither of which would help me. I could see the cash register and the cashier from where I was standing and you could tell I was irritated and the cashier was just sitting there, no customers in line and looked at me and says "someone will be over soon". I thought to myself this has to be a joke, there is no way someone allows 5 of their employees to just walk by customers that need help and not one of them stop to do it. It literally takes 1 minute to get crickets out and it just baffles me that they made it seem like only one employee in the entire store could do it. That is not customer service. I work in the service industry and I'm honestly appalled. Needless to say, your employees should be trained better or you should just get all new ones cus the ones that work here are LAZY and they suck!!!! read more

Had a great experience today. An employee by the name of Marina was so amazing. When I asked her for help, she dropped what she was do to help us. She was very knowledgeable and had a positive attitude the whole time helping us. She is surely a great asset to pet smart. We recently moved to the area and had no idea where to take our Shih Tzu to get groomed. A very helpful employee at Lowe's recommended a groomer at Petsmart in Lake Elsinore. Normally Petsmart wouldn't be my first choice but the lady at Lowe's couldn't say enough good things about her. I can honestly say, Coley, did an excellent job. I think she gave our dog the best haircut he's ever had. The price was right, everybody in the grooming department was friendly and helpful. i will definitely be back read more

Although all the instructors are good at Petsmart, Rommel De La Cruz is the best Instructor I have ever had there. I have three dogs and all my puppies have gone through training at the Petsmart. Rommel has a passion for dogs and training and it shows. He is not only good with the dogs, but he is also good with working with the owners. read more
