I took my little Yorkie Sammy to the Banfield veterinarian clinic at this PetSmart off El Toro Rd. in Mission Viejo. I was very nervous and concerned about possibly what they may find with Sammy as he's been having a lot of congestion and difficulty clearing his nasal passage. There was a very lovely lady at the front desk of the veterinarian clinic. She was very helpful. She asked me questions about my dog to start the process and just her demeanor alone made me feel more at ease. I'm so sorry I forgot her name but she was working at the front desk on the day of January 6, 2025. She had kind of slightly curly hair that was a pretty light, blondish, grayish color. So after she checked me in, I sat down, and I waited to go to the back of the clinic. This is when a gentleman by the name of Dave walked out, and he introduced himself as the veterinarian tech. Right off the bat Dave just had a demeanor that put me at ease when he smiled. He acknowledged my other little dog that I had with me at the time as well. Her name is honey, and he complimented Sammy. His voice was kind and reassuring, and he introduced himself to me and escorting me to the back. While he was taking the intake on why I had brought my dog Sammy to the clinic,he took the time as well to actually converse with me. We talked about his dogs as well and you can tell Dave is a big animal lover, and he's rescued dogs before. Just to hear him speak and see the compassion in his face , hear the compassion in his voice that means so much, especially when your dog means the world to you. You want to know that the Veterinary professionals who are working with your animals, love and care for dogs just as much as you do. Furthermore he put me at ease because I was so stressed and worked up as to what they may find or what they were going to tell me and I was just hoping that somebody would give me some answers for my dog so he can clear up his nasal passages. Very shortly after that, Dr. Yang walked into the room. I must say that I had a very minimal wait time from the start that I checked in at the front desk to the time I saw Dr. Yang was probably maybe 15 minutes. It was very quick and I appreciate that. When Dr. Yang walked through the door, she walked in with a smile on her face. She actually had a very big smile on her face and it made me smile too. Dr. Yang took the time to listen to my concerns as I explained my dog's symptoms and what my concerns were. She gave him a good exam and she helped clarify things for me to help rule out what his condition probably was not but also tell me what it might be and that's important because I wanted to feel like I could walk away from this clinic and have some help for my dog. After her examination, she prescribed some medication for my dog.. It was just such a breath of fresh air to have a veterinarian and a veterinarian tech who were both so gracious and kind and actually concerned about my dog. They didn't rush me as I was speaking. They weren't disinterested in what I had to say. They took their time and explained everything to me and answered all my questions. Dave also took the time to make sure that he explained how I should administer the medication to my dog. So basically I know I'm rambling here, but I feel like when you get good service like this, when you have professionals such as Dr. Yang and David and also the very kind and professional lady at the front desk of the clinic this makes you want to come back. This is what makes you put your trust in a clinic that they're going to do the right thing by your dog. Thank you so much Dr. Yang and thank you so much Dave for taking all my anxiety and my stress away and helping me be at ease and loving on my two little dogs and showing them all the care and kindness that they deserve. My babies are my world and I thank you for taking very good care of them today.

Stopped here to use the bathroom, which I was able to find and do pretty easily. Odd bathroom though - the toilet paper was installed *above* the toilet (behind the person sitting down). ?? WTF? Who is this for? Anyway, I made it work. Took a look around the store before I left. The birds and mammals looked to be in clean housing and looked healthy. I didn't check the reptiles, and the beta were a mixed bag. Some looked healthy and in (tiny) cups with clean water, while others were in discolored water and looked extremely unhappy/unwell. Unfortunately I get the feeling if I'm not *seeing* this it's only because someone does their job and moves the sick fish off the sales floor, not because it's not happening. Feels like if I'm seeing it, it must be even worse than it looks... Anyway, not the worst I've seen, but could do better for sure. Oh, I do like their variety of guinea pig toys. It's extensive and a lot of them are good quality. I also appreciated that they're finally offering cages that are actually a good size, sold as "start-up" cages for these critters. That said, they were also still selling cages that are really crummy and not the right size/shape or style for guinea pigs, marketing them as good for guinea pigs. Progress, but still room for improvement. Keep moving forward!

It's always such a pleasure to work with Jennifer. My 13 year old dog Lucy loves to see her. Their grooming salon is clean, friendly and professional. Thank you Jennifer for a job well done. You are THE BEST!

The groomers are fabulous. I have a 6 month old large puppy and they do an amazing job with him. Great experiences so far and great prices too. Thanks so much!

Lucy looking very proper!! Thank you Jennifer!

GROOMING The last time I brought my Labrador, Sadie, she was 14 years old (she passed Feb 2023). I recently got a new puppy (a Havanese, Lucy) and the first thing the groomer, Jennifer did was acknowledge that I used to bring Sadie! I was so touched by that. Maybe she did remember me or maybe she just read my history... who cares! She went out of her way to engage and connect and that impressed me. Then she spent time going over the different outcomes of blade types with a visual and helped me decide which size blade she should use. By the time I left I felt so confident that my baby Lucy was left in loving, caring hands. A big thank you to Jennifer

Prices keep going up and up and UP!!! Where is the cap on pet food!?!?!? Store needs to be cleaned... DEEP CLEANED!!! No reason there should be cobwebs, that are not part of the Halloween decor, in the food aisles!!! Unacceptable!!! This store used to be so clean!!! They don't even greet you when you come in anymore! Come on Petsmart do better! You are beginning to look like Wal*mart!

Blood on his nail area, blood streaks on the floor.

Took our dog for grooming, saw blood on his paw and nail area, blood streaks on the floor. Unacceptable. BEWARE, would NOT recommend.

    BOGO. UNTRUE

BOGO. Untrue. Not one thing in the store is buy one, get one. You have to buy 3 to get one. Spoke to the manager and that is their interpretation of BOGO. What do you think?

My boyfriend and I took in our cattle dog, Ollie, as a stray almost 4 months ago. Quick background: Ollie was found tied to a fire hydrant outside my work. Ollie is the sweetest boy, however is very reactive to other dogs and is a bundle of energy that presents as endless jumping and nipping. We have a senior Saint Bernard at home in which Ollie has been too rough/aggressive with her, even when our Saint Bernard makes it known that she doesn't want to be bothered. We tried water sprays at home and other attempts at training to no avail. We began to feel helpless as our biggest concern was his relationship with our Saint Bernard, as it got to the point where we felt we had to consider rehoming him. During our session with Brad, we immediately saw results which had us dumbfounded. Like other reviews have mentioned, his technique is not "mean," but is a firm mindset that Ollie requires. All the while, Brad emphasizes when to correct your dog and when to praise him, while stressing the fact that these techniques are not made to scare your dog, but rather establish a leader mentality while simultaneously letting the dog know that you provide love and safety. Of course, like any training, one can only be successful when carrying over these learned techniques at home, but Brad left us feeling confident and ready to continue the work. Even when we got home today, we already had seen a shift from Ollie. As for Brad himself - he is very approachable and really looks to understand both the dog and all the circumstances that come with them. You could really get a sense of how personal he is. We definitely recommend him. Thank you so much, Brad!

Knowing that his wife Antonina is from Ukraine and that they have loved ones and deep personal connections in a region affected by war and uncertainty, I can only imagine the emotional stress they have carried over the years. Despite those challenges, they continue helping dogs and families in our community with remarkable dedication, and I wanted to acknowledge that before sharing my story. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and the experience I had with Vladae and SoCal Dog Training. I am a professional dog groomer, so I spend my days working with dogs and their owners. Over time, I noticed something interesting: several of my grooming clients were bringing in dogs that had undergone remarkable behavioral transformations. When I asked what had changed, the answer kept coming back the same--SoCal Dog Training. Around the same time, my veterinarian also spoke very highly of Vladae. After hearing so many positive things from people I trusted and seeing the results with my own eyes, I decided to reach out for help with my own Goldendoodle, June. June is the sweetest dog in the world, but she struggled with fear, insecurity, phobias, and noise sensitivities. In unfamiliar places, her tail would immediately tuck between her legs, and she would often become so nervous that she simply froze. Watching her struggle was heartbreaking. Our journey started with puppy training, continued through private lessons, and eventually led to SoCal Dog Training's Canine Boot Camp. Looking back now, it is honestly hard to believe how far she has come. Today, June is happier, more confident, and genuinely enjoying life. One of the most emotional moments for me was seeing her confidently running through busy public places and exploring her surroundings with joy. There was a time when she was so fearful she could barely move. Seeing the dog she has become today almost brought tears to my eyes. What impressed me most was how individualized the training was. As a groomer, I understand that every dog is different. Different dogs require different approaches, techniques, and sometimes different tools. I watched Vladae continually adjust and customize the program based on June's personality and emotional needs. Nothing ever felt like a one-size-fits-all approach. I also appreciated his honesty, authority, and surprisingly gentle approach. He never made unrealistic promises or simply told me what I wanted to hear. If anything, he under-promised and over-delivered--and that was exactly my experience. During our first FaceTime consultation, we openly discussed different training philosophies, methods, and tools. He explained the purpose behind each option and answered every question I had. I never felt pressured into anything. I felt informed, comfortable, and involved in every decision regarding June's training. One thing he told me early on stayed with me: "Come into this process with an open mind and an open heart, trust the process, do the work, and I'll do everything I can to help you succeed." That's exactly what happened. I had homework. I had to practice. I had to report back and continue learning alongside June. One of the biggest lessons I learned was that successful dog training isn't just about training the dog--it's equally about training the owner. As a groomer, I never thought about it that way before. In grooming, I do the work and the owner enjoys the result. Dog training is different. June wasn't the only one learning and growing--I was too. Looking back now, I truly feel that both June and I graduated from this program together. I also appreciated Vladae's honesty when he explained that dog training is a skill, not a magic wand. Like any skill, it needs to be practiced and maintained. That made perfect sense to me. What SoCal Dog Training gave us was a strong foundation and the knowledge to continue building on our success. One of my favorite memories was visiting June shortly before Boot Camp was completed. She was excited to see me, but after a few minutes it almost felt like she was saying, "Hi Mom! Okay, I'm good now--I'm hanging out with Vladi!" It was obvious she felt comfortable, safe, and genuinely happy. Will June ever be perfect? Probably not. No dog is. But compared to where we started, the transformation feels nothing short of miraculous. Most importantly, she is happy. She is confident. She enjoys life. And I enjoy life more because I no longer spend every day worrying about her. I cannot thank Vladae and SoCal Dog Training enough for everything they have done for June and for me. Thank you, Vladi, for giving my sweet girl the confidence to enjoy the world. We are both incredibly grateful.

We had Bug do both basic and service dog training, and he came out a new dog - same personality obviously, but with so much obedience When we picked Bug up, he was happy and definitely loved Sogand, so he was obviously treated well (which we really cared about) We get compliments daily from other people saying how respectful and "what a good boy" he is :) Definitely recommend to anyone looking for dog training!

We chose her 2 week board and train - aggression rehabilitation service, after a week her and her staff noticed my dog still being very aggressive in protecting his food bowl and she extended his training another week (no extra charge!) so she could really focus on that aspect to make sure Dumpling's aggression was addressed. Wife and I also highly recommend her private sessions after the board and train. 2-3 weeks is definitely not enough time to make sure behavior issues are completely addressed, so her sessions helped make sure we properly did our daily trainings with Dumping. Her sessions also evolved the trainings we did at home as our dog's aggression level kept going down and focus on his high alert/anxiety responses to stimuli, and try to help him associate his dopamine response to being relaxed. She also helped identify a food allergy that made him itchy, which added to his higher anxiety level. All these things added up and now our dog is a lot happier and hasn't displayed a snarl or showed his teeth in anger to anyone or any dogs in months! Thanks Sogi for helping Dumpling and us and hope this review helps others choose you over other trainers out there for their dogs.
