OK again I really hate to get bad reviews but this is on the grooming services. First of all they canceled my appointment without letting me know until I walked in the door. And then she had a really bad attitude sparking asking me my phone number twice. Giving the other employee an attitude about it as if it was her fault my appointment was canceled. First off I waited outside the door because there were two large dogs inside the room without their leashes on and I have a small Maltese. About four minutes after waiting for her to find my appointment she tells me if you're going to be 15 minutes late next time let us know so we can be prepared because we canceled your appointment. First off I wasn't 15 minutes late I was about four minutes late and I was outside the door waiting until the other dogs were not running around the room. I simply told her I will go somewhere else it's not worth my time. In no place ever what I leave my dog with someone with a bad attitude gives me an attitude because of their system not telling me my appointment was canceled. I had to return a bad bag of Purina One because it had bugs in it. I wasn't very happy about this. What made things even worse was that 1. This was the first time I had ever bought anything from this location and 2. I couldn't return it to the location that I usually shop at that is closer to my house. When I went in for the return, the manager helping me was very apologetic and had no problem doing the refund. When I asked her what I should do going forward since this was an "ongoing issue", she offered to take me back and show me a great alternative. As we were walking through the store, she explained why the Purina One was having such issues. Their packaging was already weak and had been compromised further by an issue with the seal. The food is also appealing to bugs as it is more grain than protein. We got to the Authority food and she showed me the higher quality packaging. Then she proceeded to explain to me the nutritional advantage and that it would be easy for my pups to transition to even though they have only ever been on Purina One. I truly appreciate the time that this young lady spent with me. Not only did she give me a great alternative food, but she made me aware of all of its wonderful benefits. When I walked into my house with it, my pups went crazy. They were jumping at me trying to smell the bag. When I gave it to them, they scarfed it down. They hadn't been too interested in food in the weeks leading up to this, probably because they knew it was bad before I did. Last week I made a last minute appointment at PetSmart and asked for the upgraded package with flea and tick prevention so we're talking close to $200 for his size. I drop him off and inform them (multiple times) he is occasionally reactive with other animals so it's best that he's by himself. I assured them that he loves people and is a total pleaser. Give the boy a treat and he'll do whatever you want. ALWAYS! Signed the paperwork then started shopping. Here's how the rest of my experience went: Checking out there was a couple in front of me that had purchased three separate leashes for their dogs. All three broke... twice. This was the second time they were getting them replaced but management told them without a receipt they couldn't verify the length of the retractable leash and couldn't do the exchange even for a lesser priced leash. The couple had no problem doing this exchange before without a receipt. Also, who keeps a receipt for a leash? My parents have leashes older then me, they should last. After checking out I'm called 15 minutes later and told they won't do my dogs grooming because he's to hyper. He's a 62 lb 3 yr old dog. What did they expect? I also told them how to treat him and to get him to do as they wished. He can be a stinker but seriously a treat will do the trick. I didn't argue because if your a professional groomer and you cant handle my dog, I'm not going to try to persuade you and give you the chance to accidentally hurt him. Once I arrive there's a man arguing with SEVEN employees, one being the manager. I only heard the end of the conversation but he was about 10 minutes late so the groomer didn't want to take the dogs. The part of the conversation I missed is where the manager said "she {the groomer} feels unsafe taking care of your dogs, so I have to deny this appointment." Imagine the dog on the Caesars food can. Yeah the 15 lb, white fluff ball. Two of them. And when the adults were arguing the dogs were sitting there patiently. So she's scared of a fluff ball that has good manners? What!?!?! Once the manager and upset man left the grooming facility, I had to inform the (7) groomers multiples times who my dog was even though I was only gone 15 minutes and it was the dog they refused service too. All of a sudden I see him running around the facility without a leash on. Everyone just watching until I screamed "he's reactive get him on a leash" multiple times. I was the furthest person from my dog and the first one to get a leash on him. Two customers and I received terrible customer service. "Professional" groomers can't handle dogs of multiple sizes and breeds. They don't follow the direction of the owners to assist them in doing their job. They can't provide a safe environment for the dogs. At the end of the day I realize my experience could've been a million times worse but what if I wasn't there and he was running loose and either bit a dog or a dog bit him? What if their unprofessional groomers hurt him? It takes second for something bad to happen to our furry loved ones. They can't fight for themselves like we can. I've had multiple people say "well it sounds like that location has bad customer service." No... Google PetSmart lawsuit or killed dog and there are endless news articles and social media posts where people experienced situations like this and much worse all around the world. A company that is supposed to care and love animals is globally failing time and time again. I can't support this. Also they have breed restrictions against Bully breeds... so can't support that either. Love for ALL breeds! read more

She has been very helpful when it comes to explaining the services he will receive while he is going to be in their care. Took my golden doodle to get a trim and this is what they did. My dog is totally unrecognizable!!!! A doodle is never supposed to have this short of hair. Shortly after I originally made the appointment, PetSmart called back and asked if I could come any earlier because they thought it would take a long time. To accommodate I came in earlier. If you were just going to buzz my dogs coat completely off why bother scheduling a longer appointment window instead of using the time to do a proper trim?! This is the worst grooming experience I've ever had and I will be sure to tell anybody with pets not to trust PetSmart with their groomers, especially Lewisville location! read more

Arrived at 830am this morning to pick up and I was told the grooming wasn't scheduled til 10:00am this morning. I returned at 12:30p and he is still not ready and I was told it usually takes 2hours and I NEED to come back in 45minutes. Let get something straight, we pay you for service in a timely fashion, not at your convenience. Couple different experiences with this place leading to me never shopping here again. If I could give no stars, I would. One evening, my fiancé and I went in there to get flea medicine for our dog. We always get distracted by the kitties, so we go over there and fall in love with a 2 year old female named Peggy. After waiting for about 5 minutes, no one comes by to help so I have him go over and ask the employee working with the fish. The employee, George, says "I'll page someone for you." 5-10 minutes later, no page, I get sick of waiting and my fiancé goes up to the cash register. The cashier, Emily, paged a manager to come help us. We wanted to meet Peggy and see if we got along. 5-10 minutes later, still no one shows up to help us. So my fiancé and I walk towards the register bummed (and slightly irritated). Emily rings us up and asks if we ever received help. We told her that after waiting 20 minutes total, we were ready to just leave. She then tells us the manager needs to get the flea medicine from the back room anyways, so then he should be able to come over and help us. He goes and gets the medicine, we buy it, and then follow him assuming he's going to help us at this point. He goes into an office, so my fiancé stands outside waiting. The manager, Jason, comes out and starts walking with us towards the cats. By the time we get there he disappears. We then see the same guy, George, we asked for help earlier helping people over by the hamsters and gerbils. He doesn't look at us once. After waiting another 10 minutes, George finally walks by us and I ask "Are you the person they are finally sending to help us?" He says "I can't really help you, it's not like you can go in there and see the cats. But I can answer questions." So I ask "so why couldn't you answer questions 40 minutes ago when we asked for help earlier?" He looks at me, speechless. "How do I get a cat?" I ask. He says "you need to fill out an application and send it in." "So there's no way I'm leaving with Peggy tonight?" "No, it doesn't work like that." I've adopted cats from PetSmart before and left the same day with the cat, so yes, it does work like that. (Come to find out later that different shelters have different policies, which is totally called for, just would have been nice to know.) So I ask, "why couldn't anyone tell us this 40 minutes ago rather than give us the run around and waste our time?" Again, blank stare. We leave and call customer service. The lady on the phone was great, as was Emily, the cashier in the store. Juan, the store manager, calls and offers my fiancé 50% off our next purchase as a way to make up for the bad experience and keep our business. That satisfies me and we go in a couple nights later. After getting dog food, cat food, kitty litter, and some toys, we head up to the front to complete our purchase. We tell Emily and she remembers us and calls a female manager over. The manager tells us she can't give us 50% and goes to the office to call someone, I'm assuming Juan. She comes back and says she can give us 10% off the big items and 50% off a couple things. So I ask "what can you give 50% off on?" And she spends a few minutes on the computer discounting a few items. "I gave you half off the most expensive things." "Fine." I said because at this point I just want to get our stuff, leave, and never come back. So, don't bother going on here if you want ANY kind of customer service. The only individual who knows how to treat customers is Emily, the great cashier. The managers will treat you poorly along with all the other employees. I would only recommend this store if you know exactly what you need and exactly where it is and Emily is working the register. Otherwise, STAY AWAY! After all this, I don't plan on returning to PetSmart. Apparently the company thinks it's okay to hire these people to represent them, so something is wrong. read more

You should shop here only if they have things you can't find at target or Walmart. I was comparing prices and cat litter is 20 cents cheaper at Walmart. I don't think they do price match here. Also it's hard to get help here because I can never find an employee except the cashier. They only have one cashier here. While I was putting dog food in the cart this employee tried to sell me something. It was a $20 booklet that could save you $250. The thing is I'm in a hurry and I don't have time to buy a booklet. The Doctor at this location is very inexperienced and lacks knowledge. She tried telling me my German Shepherd is 8 months when he's really 6 months. She argued that he is because that he had tarter which was false because he clearly doesn't, I practice dentistry so I think I'd know tarter when I see it. I was also a K9 handler so again I think I'd know if my GSD was 6 or 8 months. She tried selling me on items he did not need and this wasn't the first time this has happened. This is my favorite PetSmart. I haven't used Banfield or their grooming services, but the actual store is great and very clean. The real stand-out here is the PetsHotel and Doggie Day Camp. I have left my 5 month old puppy here for a 3 day weekend and also bring him often for day camp while I'm at work. Everyone who works here knows my dog by sight and he is always super excited when we arrive. I was worried about leaving my dog overnight or during the day at a "chain" boarding facility, but it is absolutely the best place I've left him thus far. I can (and do!) call them once or twice a day when he's staying there to check on him, and everyone who answers the phone is always happy to give me an update. Uniquely, I only have to tell them his first name before whoever answers the phone immediately starts telling me all about his day. Every other place he's stayed I've always had to give first and last name, and sometimes a brief description of the dog in order for them to know who I'm inquiring about. The staff is obviously well trained and they clearly love dogs. He stayed overnight at the PetsHotel in one of the "private suites". It's basically a small room about the size of a standard cubicle with a TV and a dog bed. It's slightly more expensive than just a regular stay in a kennel, but definitely worth it as I was able to bring a ton of stuff from home for him to play with in his room. With day camp during the day it definitely wasn't the cheapest place to stash my dog for my vacation, but I was extremely happy with the level of care and stimulation he received, and the value for the cost associated with it. I don't worry about him at all when he's at this PetsHotel. Another nice touch I didn't really expect was that when I picked him up after his overnight stay, all of his stuff was super clean. They'd washed not only my puppy (at my request), but all of his bedding and toys too. Pretty great considering my dog has an unfortunate stink problem. As sappy as it is, I also enjoy the "report cards" they give me when I come pick him up, as they describe what he did during the day and who he played with. They're great about working in a quick exit bath or ear cleaning when I call at the 11th hour, which I really appreciate. All in all, this place is my top choice when I have to leave my dog either overnight or just during the day. I always assumed that the family-owned independent dog day care centers would give my dog better attention, but that's just not always the case. Between the training they have to receive and the fact that everyone there has to answer to a higher corporate power, I feel much more comfortable leaving my pup in their hands. read more

Hit the press for assistance button, ALISSA came over with and did not greet us and was very agitated with us needed her assistance. Even after we said hello, she just stared at us like "what" and we asked was something wrong and she said "most people just say what they want". I don't know why y'all give this place such bad reviews. We have been going to Doggie Day Camp every sat for 7 years and we have not ever had a problem. The staff is wonderful with my dog and I know I don't have to worry about her. New Years Eve my husband and I had a lack of communication in not realizing they would be closing at 5, so when he arrived at 6:15 of course they were closed with my dog there. I was frantic worried about her she's never been away for an entire night and she's so weird she won't drink water there cause it comes out of the wall. We couldn't get her until 10 this morning and all my worrying was for not they took great care of her yes she almost drank a gallon of water...plus they didn't even make us pay! Our error which I feel awful for it, but that just shows the great staff they have is stupendous. During Covid we had to take her to American Pup Culture as PetSmart was closed. Bella got Kennel cough there and yes shes vaccinated but obviously another dog wasn't and brought it in...PetSmart stays on top of our records to make sure all the dogs are protected.. I just have to repeat that I think this place is the best all the way around, even if they wouldn't have comped us I'd still feel this way just knowing all will be well if accidents come up..wouldn't go anywhere else..if I could double my star rating I would read more

The grooming salon here is a joke. I was quoted a two hour time wait and that they would call when he was done. When we came back to get our dog two hours later after no phone call to be told that the groomer who was supposed to be grooming my dog had went on lunch. And that we needed to come back in another two hours. Fed up at this point I just wanted to take our dog somewhere else. She said that he was already bathed and she would finish him up really quick. After about another 15 minutes he was finished. When we got home we noticed that his nails were not trimmed properly and he had a huge cut on the side of his leg. We will not be back. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. LEWISVILLE PETSMART is the spot I took my dog who yes is a pitbull service dog. She has gone there for over a year to get her nails done and to get a bath. She absolutely loves both of those things I know how odd that sounds but she really does and they said that my dog snipped at them that's why they couldn't finish her nails. My dog has never bitten anybody or animal she loves both she was taught love. I was taking her there as she was still a puppy she is just now a year and four months. I am a vet tech I have worked with so many animals and she has been up to my job millions of times and let me state with NOT ME doing her nails by my other employees doing her nails she was just fine super happy just looking around sniffing the Instruments just like a dog normally does (even new employees) and always sat up front to welcome new clients every day. When I got my dog back from the Lewisville PetSmart ,she was terrified to come close to anybody and she had her tail between her legs the whole time. She sat behind the couch and didn't come back out the rest of the night. If you know my dog you know she is a lively bunch and is very loving and a happy go lucky dog. That's not even all of it. That day I already had issues with the old hag behind the counter in the grooming department as soon as I even got there because I guess her friend was in there with two of her little pug dogs, granted my dog didn't even look their way she knows to sit beside me and sit there and wait for instructions. Automatically freaked out on us and made us walk out and wait outside for her to come get us. My husband had came in two days before to book her appointment she they told my husband that she didn't have her rabies shots (which she does and has had since she was able to get it) granted she just came in there 3 weeks prior. So he said he would bring proof on spa day! Day of grooming, after the incident with the two other dogs and her friend she started raising her voice at me and giving me an attitude about how SHE TOLD MY HUSBAND ABOUT THE PAPERWORK, when I told her that she didn't talk to my husband the day before she talked to him two days prior and that her shots were up-to-date and that she had the wrong dog she rolled her eyes and walked to the back after that. The funny thing about it is a month later I took her to pretty paws and they had no problems with her whatsoever told me she was one of the best dogs I've ever done nails on knowing dogs hate thier nails being trimmed as a vet tech I know first hand how that goes. Moral of my story is they all can kiss my ass and how they treat dogs is absolutely terrible and inhumane. If you know my dog or know me you know how incorrect this behavior is for her. I promise you my dog is the most sweetest girl you would ever meet. AND I WILL NEVER GIVE PETSMART ANOTHER GLANCE. YOU CAN SHOVE THE APOLOGY UP YOUR ASS. #savethedogs read more

I made an appointment to get my dog groomed today and brought him in 20 minutes early because the groomer called and asked us to come early. I drove 30 minutes to this petsmart because they were the only petsmart with appointments still available today. Not even 5 minutes after dropping him off I got a call saying that they didn't have time to groom him and I had to pick him back up. I wasted an hour of my time for absolutely no reason because of their poor planning and incompetence. If they didn't have time to groom my dog, they shouldn't have let me make the appointment or they should have called before I had already dropped my dog off and left. Don't bring your dog here to get groomed unless you just feel like having your time wasted. read more

Linda in the grooming department is THE BEST! My dog, a dachshund mix, is not good about getting her nails trimmed. She screams, not cries, screams the entire time. Linda was incredible! She made it past the screaming and trimmed her toe nails that were FAR over due. Linda did a better job than my vets in the past! I definitely hope I run into Linda in the future. read more

To young ladies were there trying to coax a brindle colored dog to the back with no other dogs on the stand. I walked in the told them my name and they said your grooming appt was for 9 which I knew it was not because I am a creature of habit . This is one of the two Petsmarts that I frequent. I like this one better because it is cleaner than the other one and has a Pethotel, Grooming Salon, and Doggy Day Camp. My dog goes to day camp once every two weeks, and she gets groomed once a month, with day camp as well. The staff is so friendly to me and my dog; they remember us and seem truly excited that we are back. They do a great job grooming her as well, and I was very happy with how they took care of my dog after a weekend stay at the hotel. You get coupons with every stay at doggy day camp (the ones around the holidays are awesome!). read more
