This review is just for the grooming services. #1 - they charged $20 to "de-mat" my maltipoo's hair. They ended up shaving her down to one of their lowest settings anyways. When you're shaving that close, there's no real work in de-matting - you just shave. I've done this multiple times in-between groomings at PetSmart and this was the first PetSmart that told me they needed to charge me de-matting services prior to intake. I should have just walked out then. #2 - They call me regularly to take my dog back. Again, the only PetSmart to ever make the annoying effort for a unsolicited phone call. The only call I ever wanted was for them to call me when I was ready to pick up my dog, not for a continuous marketing call. Only reason this isn't a one is because it's unfair to the rest of the store as I haven't had any issues (but also haven't purchased) from the main store. read more

I have been bringing my dog here since she was a puppy and this time around upon picking her up the salon did something to her eye to the point where she could not even open it and it was bloodshot red. When i questioned the salon there was 0 accountability on what happened and tried to throw the blame on me saying that she was already like that when i dropped her off. She was perfectly fine when i dropped her off. To this day she still has a red mark on her eye. Completely dissatisfied and disgusted on how this was handled. This store always has the product I need and am looking for, the staff is always friendly, and the experience moves quickly. I will say the store has gotten a little out of sorts and somewhat rundown during the pandemic period, but I'm sure this is due to reduced workforce so it's completely understandable. Clean and well stocked, this location is a good place to pick up items for just about any pet. I love to check for seasonal items that are on clearance, because you can never have too many toys, right?! The staff here has always greeted us when we walk in and ensures that we don't need any help finding things. When checking out, they are able to use your phone number for your Pet Perks, for more discounts and / or points. They do offer training for dogs here, so if your pup is in need of some behavioral work, this would be a good place to do it! Overall: B+ Good spot for pets! read more

I used to come here regularly for two things: 1) dog food, 2) to get my dog's nails trimmed. I now do both of those things elsewhere. For dog food, I now get it from Pet Supermarket because it's about the same price, but I frequently get $5 off coupons and occasionally the entire bag is free. As for the nails, PetSmart kept raising the price over and over. And then COVID happened and they put in this dumb rule where you have to have your dog bathed for them to do any grooming services, as if the Rona is just hanging out on my dog's fur waiting to be transferred to people. That's not how it works, folks... But I did it for a while, even though I was now basically paying $26 for a nail trim. But most of the time when I go to book my appointment, the fee is actually $32, which is absurd. Plus the customer service has gotten worse. Twice I was up-charged for an extra service I didn't request because they "assumed" I wanted it. And once they totally forgot to tell me my dog was done and I didn't know until I called hours later. So now I take my dog to Plush Paws. She is in and out in 10 minutes and it only costs me $12. read more

I did not think I would be writing a review for Pet Smart, but here I am. I came here with my girlfriend to purchase a crate and some treats for her dog. The staff was extremely helpful and kind -- some of the nicest people in retail I have ever had an encounter with. They assisted with locating the things we needed and even helped us with price matching online. The crate we purchased ended up having rust on one of the corners. We called and they sorted it out with no problem to exchange for another unit. When leaving the store, in my head I had a five-star experience. When we came back to exchange the crate my mind was changed. The gentleman who assisted us was a complete 180 degrees from the others who assisted us earlier that day. He seemed unhappy and took it out on us. Attitude and his sighing were enough to annoy us. This second encounter was not the best, but it is worth noting that the staff at the beginning were very friendly and I do not want to take away from that. Horrible customer service! When you usually enter any PetSmart location, you are greeted with a smile and a friendly, "Welcome to PetSmart!" Apparently the protocol is different at this PetSmart. No biggie, just something I took note of. The "biggie" came later. I walked to the cat aisle in search of Nature's Miracle (my chunky cat pees on things when he's mad at me - and no, it's not medical). I picked up a gallon container (big cat = lots of pee) and got the liquid all over my arms as I discovered the bottle cap was torn. I put it down and picked up another one - same thing - torn lid and no more of the specific Nature's Miracle that I wanted. I then went to search for staff to inform them of this and to ask if they had any more of the product in the back. It took me a while to find some one and when I did, I was unpleasantly surprised. The staff member - a young female with long, light brown hair with a chunky streak of both blonde and black on each side of her hair part - was chatting with a customer/possibly a friend. She saw me, but proceeded to tell the customer, "Yeah, I wait for the (checkout) lines to get real long and I don't do anything - then maybe they'll finally hire another cashier." Model employee here, PetSmart (please know that I'm being sarcastic)! Well, now that she finished venting, she turned her attention to me and asked if I needed help. I explained the situation and I witnessed her ask for someone (via her walkie talkie) to help me in the cat aisle. So, then I returned to the cat aisle and I waited. And waited. And waited. After about 15 minutes, I decided to just buy 2 smaller sizes of the Nature's Miracle product. The only good thing about this visit is that the product was "Buy 1, Get 1 50% off." Also, I saw a chihuahua in a sweater - the chihuahua made me smile and made me have a little more grace, hence the 2 star rating verses a 1 star rating. So, thank this chihuahua, PetSmart and consider the employees you have (poorly) representing your company. read more

They did this without my knowledge. They said I gave them permission in the grooming form I signed. They are NOT vets and should not diagnose my pet or transport them ANYWHERE. They don't know my dogs behavior or personality. Will never use them again!! Petsmart says when you sign the form you give them permission. read more

This is the location my partner and I got our tuxedo cat named Shadow from- I have to say that there's a lot I don't like about this location, but once my partner found our future cat here, I knew that this was going to be our PetSmart from now on whether I liked it or not. I'll start off by saying that I'm a cat person plain and simple. I've had plenty of cats in my time from kittens to elderly so I know my way around cats and how to care for them. The funny thing is that we walked into the store looking to buy fish for my partner, but me being a cat person and my partner being an animal lover, we decided to get a cat instead. Some of the employees seemed better prepared for us to adopt our little Shadow from here than others, and the ones that seemed knowledgeable on how to handle the situation were the ones shelving or at the register. The duty of instructing us on our cat's adoption then fell to an employee that was incredibly shy and soft-spoken. He let us handle each of the cats for us to find the right fit which I was thankful for, but when I asked him about each of the cats he said he only really knew what was on their cards and not the cats themselves as individuals. I had my heart set on finding an orange tabby or calico, but their selection was limited to other cats which was more of what my partner wanted- hence the reason why we adopted our tuxedo cat Shadow. My apartment wasn't cat-ready so much as fish-ready at the time of adoption, so I asked if we could reserve our cat for adoption (I've done this adopting cats at other PetSmart locations in Texas) so that I could get the place ready for a cat- the entire time this employee is communicating via headset to the knowledgeable female employee that had greeted us who was busy shelving near the fish. He says that this location is unable to put an adoption on hold/make a reservation, and my partner is already too set on adopting the cat today anyway (despite never caring for a cat before or understanding the work that goes into it). Once we started filling out our paperwork to adopt our cat, the man gave us a bunch of coupons to get us started on getting all the supplies we needed which I was really happy about. I ask him where to find cat carriers to transport our cat to the car and he seemed really unsure and just pointed us to the cat area before walking off. So aside from my experience with that particular employee, and then with the employees in the grooming department (long story short our cat's fur was a mess so I wanted them to at the very least shampoo it clean again) which also weren't very helpful, I like this location's Banfield Pet Hospital which has been very helpful to us, but that's about it. read more

This location sucks. I usually go to Waterford for the grooming salon. Had a 9:30 appointment, dropped off dog, groomer was not there or called out. Only one groomer there. Got called back at 11:15 to pick up my dog without any grooming done because they where over booked , my dog was shaking ... all kinds of excuses. Waste of my time and they are just running incompetent at this point. I'll stick with the Waterford location. read more

This a review for the grooming part of this Petsmart. I been taking my dog to another Petsmart location. My groomer there was wonderful and i was going to her for years. Just recently I moved and decided to try this one since it was the closest to me. In Petsmart I usually pay around 40 for my dogs haircut then add nail grind plus tip 20% or more. This time around my total was almost 75 dollars for a small 6 pound dog and ofcourse with tip, the bill was almost 90 bucks! I mean that is crazy expensive. That is usually what you pay for in luxury grooming places. I would had been fine paying that amount but the cut was too short and i asked to leave enough hair for her bow. When I got her back she didnt have a bow on and no bandana or anything. She had cut way too much hair and trimmed the whole top of the head so you cant even put a bow. The cut overrall was so messy. Theres long pieces of hair then other hair pieces that are literally shaved down to the skin. When I took her home I tried to cut the long pieces and fix her up myself with scissors! When my sister's dog groomer saw my dog she was in shock, she offered to fix her hair for free because of how messy it was. I ofcoursed tried to pay her but she claimed she couldnt have my dog walking around looking like that! Now the groomer at this Petsmart was nice but she also recommended i added the Chi plus package since my dogs hair was long. Since we agreed to not cut it too short i agreed to the extra price of the conditioning treatment, as I imagined her hair was going to look nice and shiny. But what was the point of adding the treatment if she was shaved down?! Is like the hair that was conditioned is all gone now so it was not needed at all. When i dropped her off they were very busy, many dogs and only two groomers. It took almost 5 hours to cut my dogs hair. The Banfield Hospital part of this Petsmart does get 5 stars though, that is a different review. read more

Wow, well that other review is kinda old. Of all the Petsmarts around in a 10 mile radius, this is by far the least crowded, always stocked, and its most likely you'll be rung up/approached by a manager. Why that is, I dont know, but almost every time I've gone it, its usually a manager that has helped and rung me up. As for the grooming or Banfield location, I cannot rate these as my personal Banfield is the Oviedo location. So if you live nearby to this or work by it, this is a very handy and low key spot. The only thing you might have to be careful with is the heavy Home Depot traffic or the sudden turn from Colonial/Semoran overpass. read more

Check the dates of the food at this store they are good at selling food way outside the expiration date for the full price. In addition, when you bring it back with a recite they want to charge you more money than they should. The Waterford Lake store is a better store for this matter. I took my dog for bathing on Friday and he couldn't be done because of matting. Okay. So I bring him the next day and he panics, so they call to tell me that he was so scared he bit his tongue. I get there and they've shaved half my dog. The groomers were fair and did not charge me and expressed his glands for free. I don't know why he did not like the environment, but I won't be bringing him back. If you think your pet has any chance of anxiety, I suggest figuring out a game plan beforehand. read more

I purchased a few koi fish and some pretty feeder goldfish after discussing care of koi in an outdoor pond with an employee. That night, I followed the employees instructions, but all of the fish were dead in the morning. It had been 46 degrees that night. I took the fish back the next day and asked for assistance in fish and was sent Laura (short brown hair, with ends awkwardly dipped in bleach). I explained that I had followed the employee's instructions but the fish had failed and would like to have further instruction on acclimation by a more informed employee than the previous and also have the fish replaced per their 15 day fish guarantee. I showed her the fish that I had neatly bagged. She rudely snapped with her head cocked that it wasn't HER problem, that they only replace diseased fish. She stated it was my problem and fault for putting the fish outside. Let us clarify that I specifically had told an employee that they would be outside and in what size the night before. Let us also clarify that a sick or diseased fish is far less likely to handle acclimation. Who is to say that had the fish been healthier they should have survived? I responded, okay, that whatever their policy on fish was could be explained by someone else because you are not very polite. Do you have a manager I can talk to? Her face grimaced slowly into a coy, snotty expression as she cocked her head abruptly to the other side and proclaimed that she was the manager. I said, oh joy! Wonderful, well regardless then you can get me someone else to talk to. She pointed to the front and said they could page another employee. As i walked to the front she stalked behind me. I turned towards her and let her know that she could stand to be a bit more friendly and not so rude, especially being a manager. She explained it wasn't her intention to offend me and she could help. I stopped and held the fish out to her that were in a ziplock, okay fine, help me. She recoiled back and dramatically snapped ugh no, you don't need to put those in my face! First, they weren't in her face. I held them out to her as they do take and dispose of the fish. I know because while purchasing the fish the night before a gentlemen was attempting to return dead fish as well (should have been my sign to wait for another shipment! Ha). I said okay whatever. Ill just have them page someone else and headed to the front with my 10 month old in one arm and a bag of fish in the other hand, Laura stalking right behind us. As I stand at the front after another employee paged the next help, Laura continues to stand less than a foot away from me glaring. Not doing anything productive just standing and staring at my son and I. I finally say, look you can go do something else now. You don't have to stand here glaring at me. Attempt to be professional and find something else productive to do. She responded that I didn't need to be so rude to her... I stated that she was being beyond rude by stalking behind me to the front and continuing to harass me. Go do something else and leave me alone. She told me she was going to call security if I continued to talk to her. I said good, fine, go away and call security. At least you will be out of my presence and I can continue to wait for real help in peace. She just glared... Finally another customer came up and Laura went away to assist that customer at a different check out. At last someone else came to help me, I explained what happened with the fish and asked if they ever receive customer service training... He chuckled and apologized for Laura's behavior knowingly. We discussed the fish care and upon his suggestion I opted for a full refund instead to come back and purchase fish from the next shipment they would receive and when it warms up a bit. He is the reason this is 2 stars and not 1. Not all of Petsmart is like this. There are truly lovely and helpful employees... But to have a MANAGER talk so rudely, make faces, huff and puff with attitude and stalk me through the store over a fish return is beyond ridiculous. It is a fish return! read more

My dogs and cat are on Banfield wellness plans which entitle them to unlimited free vet visits, shots and even dental work for less than $40 per month at any Petsmart Banfield location. For anyone who has paid for their pet to have their teeth cleaned, this service alone costs $300+. I have been taking my pets to this location for two years now and have nothing but good words for the veterinary staff here. I have gotten fair treatment, timely appointments, and my pets have gotten great care. I usually get my prescriptions filled through PetCareRX in order to save money, however, on the high cost of prescriptions such as heart worm preventative. *Fun fact about this Petsmart location: no furry critters! This location is smaller than most Petsmart so it lacks any hamsters, gerbils, mice etc. Tons of fish, however! There is also a great cat adoption section though with kitties from Orange County Animal Services. read more

I happened to be visiting in the area of the store at 6134 E Colonial Dr Orlando, FL 32807. I wanted to send my son down to pick up my food but needed to call so I could find out if they carried my food and how much money to send with my son. After several rings Maria answered the phone and I asked if they carried my food and how much it was... The immediate response was "I connect you with an associate". I was put on hold for 7:10 minutes when a male answered as if I had just called and I stated my food and inquired how much and was told to hold on...at 15:20 minutes the same male answered again and asked for me to wait because he was busy with customers (I guess I'm not a customer!?!) at 22:19 Javier answered as if I was just calling in and was told he was with customers and to wait...at 26:38 minutes Maria answered the phone and stayed on the phone stating "let me check." Seriously, are there only 3 people working at petsmart, and if so why did it take almost a 1/2 hour just to find out if they carried my food and how much it was?? I will not be bothering to shop petsmart ever.....there are a lot of places that I could have driven to and returned to my hotel in the time it took to even answer the simplest of questions. SUPER POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
