I have held this petsmart location in high regard, I use their doggie day care, I have used there puppy training classes and I have purchased 90% of my pet supplies from here. Today I returned an item and was given a gift card, before I had even left the store I had managed to lose the gift card (I know it was my fault I dropped the gift card). I returned to the register and the cashier and I looked for the gift card to no avail. The cashier then asked the manager if with my receipt I could be reissued the gift card. I am simply giving this petsmart one star due to the extreme lack of customer service. I first stopped at the petsmart on Shea & Tatum and had amazing customer service, amazing enough that they found what I needed at the 90th location. But when getting to this location I was not greeted.. Instead I walked in to what seem to be interrupting someone's conversation. After about twenty minutes and asking two different people for what I was looking for I was just pointed to and told what isle. PetSmart at 90th is awesome. They treat everyone well and being a regular they go the extra mile when you have a product gone wrong. My Kong lead with pouch and zipper broke sometime ago, within 90 day, but I just used duct tape to keep the potty bags from falling out. I had showed an associate my issue as I was looking for a new leash and they still did an exchange for a different leash, same name brand. It was over 90 day. I spend a lot there so I was happy to see the appreciation. Chloe loves everyone there and gets so excited to come in to the store for extra warm fuzzies!! read more

This kid Sunny with round glasses who works there did an awesome job on my husky!! Took an extra 20 minutes but she's great with animals, personable and helped me figure out what shampoo would be good to use (instead of scamming me!)Got his nails down too. Absolutely worst pet grooming and boarding place ever. We are currently away on vacation and arranged for our dog sitter to drop off our dog at this location after making a reservation through the main number. She called us at 4 am to make us aware that there was no reservation in the system. This is the second time this happened now. Unfortunately, Alex was working this morning and was a complete "bitch" - pun intended. We had to be woken from our vacation to be told she was rude and refused to let our dog board there. Our dog has been at banfield and just boarded at a different location last week but of course that didn't matter. She was adamant and not reasonable with my dog sitter at all. She was requiring her to fill out a new dog form with medical Information and vaccine information that she didn't have on her- despite us boarding last week. There was no empathy or compassion at all. She created a situation of stress and made things more difficult than they had to be. I do hope someone from pet smart corporation reads this and appropriately deals with this clearly disgruntled employee that does not take the customer into consideration at all. read more

Not sure the link between petsmart and the cat adoption center located within its doors but what a horrific experience. We have been considering a cat for some time now, and after persistent pleading, I surrendered to take my nine year old daughter up to see the cats they have available. The lady at the booth was extremely unfriendly. We told her we we were only considering and would like to see a few. In a very short manner, she stated that we would be required to fill out an application before we could touch a cat. I told her we were only considering and not sure we want to take the time to fill out their application. She proceeded to ask us some very loaded questions, which we answered and then asked us about declawing. Hadn't been asked that question before and responded that we weren't sure. She then proceeded to give us her opinion about declawing and stated she wouldn't allow us to adopt if we were going to declaw the cat in a very cold and nasty manner. Again, we were only there to see the cats not adopt one. It was evident that she wasn't going to let us see the cats so we left. Got to witness a very disappointed daughter for the rest of the day. You people have lost your mind. Cats are being euthanized every day and you are acting like there is an abundance of families wanting to adopt these orphaned animals. We are a very animal friendly family and yet you would treat us this way for just looking? We will make sure and tell 20 of our friends about this negative experience. Too many quality adoption agencies around to waste our time with this nasty group. Beware! read more

This is about PetSmart's PetsHotel or Pet Smart's Pet Hotel at 90th and Shae in Scottsdale, AZ. Our dog has been here several times. I have always provided PetSmart with our own food and treats for our dog. After one stay, our dog came home throwing up, which never happened before. We all talked and assumed maybe she was given some treats that she shouldn't have. She threw up a little bit each day for about a week. She stayed again this last week, and we requested that the whole staff know that she couldn't be given store-provided treats or food. I called mid-week to see how she was, and I was on hold for 20 minutes. The phone was picked up by 4 different people. The final associate told me our dog was eating about half of her food, but she was otherwise fine. She apologized for having me on hold for so long. I said that wasn't a problem because their first priority was the pets, and I just wanted to make sure our dog was OK. I was reassured that she was fine, and the staff was continuing to give her only the treats we provided. My husband picked up our dog 4 days later, and she was covered in diarrhea. She is white. When she came home, she drank 2 bowls of water, and continued that all night long. Either she was given something she shouldn't have eaten, or she had a nervous stomach, but she was certainly neglected. When I called, they should have told me how she was feeling. If she didn't have diarrhea at that time, they should have called me when it first appeared. Perhaps she could have been treated by PetSmart's onsite vet. I've called PetSmart twice to hopefully find out what happened. On one call, I was on hold for 30 minutes, and I had to go so I hung up. I called today I wasn't put on hold for long, but when I described the situation to the girl who answered the phone, she said, "...and HOW can I help you?" Then I asked for a manager. A second associate answered, and she said she was sorry because both managers were out. At least SHE apologized, and asked if I wanted a manager to call me back. I thought about it for a second, and honestly, how could they help me? Neither of them asked how my dog was feeling. I can't imagine what her cage looked like or how long she was sitting in it. Hopefully this review will prevent something like this from happening again, because they seem understaffed which may explain the long hold times, and the lack of attention to detail to a sick dog, who has since gotten better, and has never been sick again at other doggie hotels. read more

This review is for the pet boarding. We boarded our Bullmastiff puppy with them through the Thanksgiving holiday. We couldn't be happier! It was the first time we left Leo so we were very nervous. We called at least twice a day and they took time to give us a report. Leo looked quite happy considering that we had left him for a few days. We will definitely used them again! I have taken my Yorkie put to this PetSmart for years. I have always been pleased with the care they have provided. Unfortunately this facility has gone downhill fast. The last few times he has stayed there he has come back smelling horriblly. Most recently his stay could have been tragic! My pup has a seizure condition which they are very aware of. It's listed on their computer and I make sure to tell them everytime I drop him off. He stayed for two nights recently. When I came to pick him up the associate asked me if was typical for him to be unsteady on his feet. He was actually having a seizure because they had forgotten to give him his daily medication! Thank God Banfield Hospital is right in their store. They checked his vitals and thank goodness he was fine. He stopped seizing shortly thereafter. He smelled like pee so I can only imagine that he was having seizures during his stay. Sometimes they loose their faculties while having them. On another recent occasion, my husband went to pick him up and was given another dog! Needless to say, my pup won't be staying there anymore. read more

We have been having our various dogs groomed over 32 years. Eric at the 90th Street PetSmart has been our groomer here in Scottsdale for a year. To PetSmart's huge loss, Eric did leave. We got a girl replacement. The day of our appointment, they called asking if we could bring our dogs in early. We could not do so and took them in at the appointment time. Our dogs do not mat easily and only had a couple of mats in their long ears. It is clear what happened: The girl may have wanted to leave early, so she pushed appointments up. Our dogs came back SKINNED with hair length of only 1/4", and their beautiful ears are a third of their normal size. This experience with this girl was unmitigated laziness. Pathetic. PetSmart has lost who were very happy customers (with Eric). We will seek out a place where employees are smarter and are treated well enough that they do not feel a need to put customers last. Better training is needed. With professional management, employees like her would not be allowed to take such action. Get a clue PetSmart - align your future hires with Eric's quality. read more
