I am a non-mammal eater and the menu options here for me never disappoint. My go tos are chicken tacos, chicken nachos, chicken taco salad, and the absolute best thing for me is always the blackened fish tacos. They are superb and I haven't had anything like them for miles around. My husband is an avid meat eater and loves it all. He also asks for a side of the habanero sauce to kick it up a notch. Owners, chefs, cashiers provide excellent neighborhoody service. This restaurant walkability should definitely raise the value of property. Thank you Taqueria Las Palmas!

A++++++++++++++++++++++…read more Hands down one of the best Mexican places in California. I cannot find this kind of quality and quantity in the East Bay. I ordered 2 carnitas tacos with a side of rice and beans. They gave me enough for three people. I have never seen such a large plate of Mexican food before. Also, they gave me a generous amount of meat. The price of my meal was around $18. While we waited, they served us a big bowl of thin, crispy chips with a side of tasty salsa. I felt quite full after eating these chips. My sister ordered a taco plate too. She gave me some of her taco that had mango bits on top. My husband ordered a taco salad. It was not crowded at all when we visited. Then again, the restaurant was so spacious that it's nearly impossible for it to get too crowded. Besides the food, I enjoyed how they didn't have glass windows. You can see the street clearly and people passing by. I was hesitant to review this restaurant because I don't want it to get so packed that I have to wait one hour to get a seat. If this La Rosa were located in the East Bay, it would get packed fast! I'm glad it's in a city where nobody really visits. You won't regret visiting. I hope to visit again in the near future when I am in the area.

The place is small and unassuming but super clean. The menu is very concise with just a handful of options which I kind of liked. You order at the counter and can either sit at one of the few tables they have or get it to you. We ordered their tacos al pastor and a carne asada torta and seated ourselves. Service was really friendly. Food came piping hot and was delicious. My husband's favorite is pastor so he's kind of a snob about it- this one definitely got his stamp of approval. Their salsas were really flavorful as well. The bread on my torta was amazing! Good char on the beef, lots of yumminess all around. A tiny bit on the pricey side but food is fresh and great quality. We'll be back for sure!

I was a little disappointed that they don't have a public restroom, but at least the restaurant is clean! My husband and I decided to try one of each kind of tacos. We ordered 2 carne asada, 2 pollo, 2 al pastor and 2 carnitas tacos. The service was really nice. The lady that helped us gave us cups for water and some extra sauce. I love that the tacos came with a really good amount of cilantro and onion. We love onion and cilantro! The portion of meat was also really good too. Service was pretty fast. Surprisingly, even though my husband and I usually go for carne asada tacos, the carne asada ones here were our least favorite. They were quite dry. We are used to ones with the meat being fattier. The chicken one was okay. Definitely slightly less dry, but I think I would've liked it more if the chicken pieces were cut up smaller or maybe even shredded. My husband and I enjoyed the pork and the al pastor one the most. The tacos seem to be reasonably priced, but do note that carne asada costs $0.50 extra. The sides are a little pricey. I guess my husband and I are pretty picky when it comes to tacos, but I would say that it was definitely worth a try!

A great casual spot for some tasty mexican food…read more I typically order the carne asada tacos. I like that they are more "street style" type tacos and come with the radishes, onions, and a hot pepper. There is a salsa bar where you can get your own salsa/pickled veggies. The green salsa is my favorite, it's light and refreshing. I also like getting a plate of their refried beans, which are very buttery and pair well with the chips and salsa as a dip.

This review is solely about their billing practices. Their food is great, although it has gotten…read morereally expensive lately. When you're ready to pay, the portable payment terminal shows only the final total, without an itemized breakdown of the charges. If you pay by credit card, a 3% processing fee is added. I have no issue with the fee itself. My problem is that the sales tax is calculated on the total after the fee is added. The credit card fee should have nothing to do with the tax amount. Additionally, the suggested tip amounts are also calculated based on the total that includes both the sales tax and the credit card fee. Most customers expect tip percentages to be based on the pre-tax cost of the food and drinks. As a result, you end up giving a lot higher tip than you intended to. Because the payment screen does not show an itemized bill, it's very difficult to verify the charges or calculate a custom tip unless you remember the exact prices of everything you ordered. I hate when a restaurant's billing practice isn't transparent to customers.
