Asked a coworker where he liked to get tortas from and he suggested Chelino's. I called in my order before driving over and they said 15 minutes. When I walked in, I was greeted and told them my name, order was ready and I drove home. They aren't kidding about the size of the torta and but the quality of the meat and vegetables weren't lacking. The telera was soft and fresh, soaking in the beans and meat juices. This was the perfect dinner after a long day and I'll want to return to eat in the restaurant to check out more of their menu. read more

Oh my! We've been looking for a go-to Mexican spot for a while now. Although we've found some good ones, nothing that hits it out of the park consistently, in an environment where you want to sit and eat at comfortably like Chelino's. This place is a cross between a taqueria and restaurant. They have all the taqueria goodies that you can get order dine-in or take-out at the register, but also restaurant quality... well, everything. We've gotten quite a few things here now. The highlights: -Wet Burritos are bomb. I generally prefer green sauce, and their green sauce is some of the best I've ever had. And they give you tons of it. Which is nice when you're paying extra. And if they say wet, you want that thing sopping. And it is! ...And yes, the burrito is huge. -Their chile verde - drooooool. I got it in the burrito, wet, so you've got that delicious green sauce inside and out. Pork is super tender enrobed in that sauce. Oh my god! So good. -Enchiladas... again, green sauce. Drool central! Their plates are huge, and comes classic Mexican style with rice, beans, salad, pico de gallo and guacamole. And lots of it. Sadly, it's hard to find generous portions like that. If you're craving Mexican, you're craving something hearty, so you want those big portions. -Chile Rellenos - it is exactly how I want it to taste. And they stuff lots of cheese in it. Great batter, great sauce, everything tastes homemade. Again, the plate has rice, beans, pico, guac. It is HUGE. -Bean and Cheese burrito - my husband loves bean and cheese burritos. I joke that he is 80% beans, and so this fills his necessary bean quotient by a lot by eating here. He gets the large and it is huge. It is all just bean and cheese, as advertised. He loves it... once again wet with the green sauce. We did try the mole, and it is good! Mole is one of those tastes I have to be in the mood for. But the time we tried it, it was dang good. Just about everything we've had here is good. And there's so much more to try. The pozole! I haven't tried their al pastor yet. And I think they have menudo... I'm so glad we found Chelino's. My husband heard about it from one of his hospice patients, a Mexican woman name Maria who loves it. She can't really eat her favorite meal from there, chicken enchiladas, but I'm glad she passed on the joy of Chelino's onto us. Service has always been friendly, and they come around to check on you and give you more chips if you ask for it. There's kind of a diner feel to it. It's clean and comfortable, unlike some of the more taqueria type places. We love this place and will be back... very often. read more

Tucked in the corner of fourth and college sits Chelinos. I've been here once before many years ago. It wasn't until recently that a friend recommended this place that brought me back to eating here. Dare I say I've been here at least a dozen times in 2025! Usually here eating the taco salad but today had the wet super burrito with asada. Their asada is the best I've had so far in Santa Rosa. The service is genuine and impeccable. The restaurant is cleans and well maintained. I have never had a meal that was disappointing. Love their chips! Note they are closed on Tuesday's so they can have a day rest (learned that the hard way lol). read more

What a find this place was in Santa Rosa. Dying for a snack and Michelada we stopped here. Order when you walk in at the counter with an expansive menu I had no idea what to hope for. Watching the drink being prepared must have been like watching DaVinci work, it was out of this world. The green spicy sauce was delish on the enchiladas and the burrito was enormous. My family LOVES this place. When I went to visit my family, they had dinner and then breakfast here. Their super burritos are delicious, but I decided to deviate to see what else is good. Their Camarones al mojo de ajo was ok. I was expecting it to taste as delicious as this place in Santa barbara, which makes their sauce creamy and garlicy. When my family went for breakfast, I decided to copy my sister in law and get the taco salad. Their Taco salad is delicious. The taco shell gives you get a nice crisp texture and they have a good amount of toppings, and I posted a picture so you could see how much they put. It's a good ratio of meat, sour cream, and guacamole. Next time I come back, I'll probably stick to super burritos or taco salad. read more

It took 2 girls at the registers to figure out our order. They couldnt figure out how to charge for Camarones de diabla. We always get them. Finally a 3rd girl had to come over. And were told that the prices that are listed on the wall or not the same price's. That's not ok and the board should be changed. I have never had a horrible experience, till today. What I love the most at Chelino's is their crispy chicken taco! It's the best, and I search hi and low for my favorite crispy chicken taco! Hubby has ordered other items, last time he had the chicken mole. It came with large chicken leg and thigh, smothered in mole sauce. He loves mole, me not so much, so I can't comment on how good that mole was. The service is quick, the restaurant seems clean every time I am there. The salsa bar is just so-so. Chelino's Mexican Restaurant in Santa Rosa certainly belongs in that distinguised list of delicious Mexican eateries. I was able to try this place for breakfast with a friend after a long hike. Famished and requiring something warm and nourishing, I was hoping that a hearty breakfast was the cure-all. I was right to expect it from Chelino's. I ordered their Machaca con huevos--minced steak with eggs, green peppers, tomatoes, and onions. It was served with beans and a side of tortillas. They also serve tortilla chips to munch on while waiting for the order. Overall, I was very satisfied with the dish. It was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and the steak was not rubbery at all, which does happen when mixed together in scrambled or omelette style dishes. Sitting outdoors, enjoying the meal, and unwinding after a great workout was the best feeling and I had Chelino's to thank for that! read more

Very disappointed been coming here since a kid and we came today and we waited 1 hour before saying something because it was very busy and we where being considerate and patient. finally went to ask for our food, and the staff had not even started our food and they had already closed at that point.
