Hidden gem in the heart of Austin! Pflour Shop is sooo delicious! Hidden gem with wonderful service and GREAT pastries! The woman serving me and my daughter was incredibly kind and gave us an extra cookie along with napkins, utensils, and made us feel at home! Just inhaling the sugary environment makes you happy while sitting in the shop :) Cupcakes were fluffy, sugary, and moist, but not overly sweet -spongy and buoyant too! Just the right blend of sugary goodness without you feeling like you inhaled spoonfuls of sugar. Although, there's nothing wrong with that if that's what you love to do :) Love the coloring and shapes as well. Cookie was soft with just a little bit of crunch and firmness to it. Not overly sweet and one of the best I've had in the Austin area. Go to the Pflour Shop! It's in an unassuming shopping mall, which is the only reason I can think of as to why it's not a more popular destination. But please go visit today and you won't be disappointed! read more

This review has been six months in the making--six months of disappointing and disheartening experiences. 4/30/25--I placed an order for a chocolate graduation cake for my son's high school graduation. I included specific instructions along with photos (see attached). I specifically asked if there would be any problems with this and explained the high school part was important as my son did not want it to look like he was graduating from UT. 5/31 morning--I pick up the cake. It's sloppy--icing is dented, UT emblem is crooked, and the handwriting is difficult to read. Even worse, there is NO high school logo or mascot. When I pointed this out, he takes out the picture reference I gave him to argue and then has to apologize. I had to leave, so I take the cake and hide my disappointment from my family. 5/31 party--We cut into the cake. It's vanilla. I text them, and they say sorry. They want to talk to make it right. 6/1--He offers a 30% refund on the cake and to make a chocolate cake for my son to be delivered after we return from vacation. 7/16 through 7/14--I check on the credit to my account frequently. Nothing. 7/11--He offers to send the refund through a cash/cash app. 7/20--Still no refund. My graduate started a nonprofit years ago that means a great deal to him, so I offer the alternative of making a donation instead since they can do so directly off the website. They agree to this and "love" the idea. 7/20 through 7/31--Still no donation. I checked in frequently and always got, "sorry, we'll do that asap." At this point, I'm thinking they just can't afford the refund they initially offered and since one of the struggles with my son's small nonprofit is getting the word out, I offer the alternative of making a reel that will spread word of the charity to people who may need help. They agree. 8/2--He tells me they are under contract and will do the reel after. It will be a couple of weeks. 8/23 through 10/17--I frequently check in. Lots of promises but no action. 10/17 through 10/20--We set up a call which he forgets. We reschedule. He forgets again. We finally talk, and I let them know that if the nonprofit isn't something they can support, they can make the refund they originally offered. I'm assured they "definitely believe, especially because it's helping kids in our community that we live in" and that the reel will be done this week or the next at the latest. 11/12--I stop by the store. He is not there but I leave my card with an employee and ask for a callback. 11/17--I send a text saying I'm done. 11/25--I post the review. 4 hrs later, he calls and apologizes, saying they really want to do the right thing and will make the $100 donation AND do the reel for the charity. He explains how the review hurts their small family business and asks if I'll take it down if they make the donation and do the reel. That doesn't feel right so I offer to write an update instead. He agrees and promises to make the donation that night. That doesn't happen. 11/26--At 8am, he calls and repeats how the review hurts them. I reiterate that was true and then add that he didn't even make the promised donation the previous night. He agrees but asks if they did the reel and made a $300 donation, would I then be willing to take the review down. I abhor that practice of taking down reviews in exchange for compensation and am not proud of this, but after calculating that $300 would buy 100+ meals for kids in need, I agree to take it down if they do both. I also explain how important the reel is to spread the word. They make the $300 donation, and I suggest Giving Tuesday, 12/2/25 as a day to post the reel. He replies, "she really wants to do ithat would be perfect." 12/2 morning--I hadn't heard anything and ask for an update. He says he'll check with her. 12/4 evening--Still nothing, and I text that I'm starting to feel ignored (again) and that I will NOT put myself through this (again). He texts back, "No ma'am I apologize. It will be done. You will not have to reach back. I will take care of it." I tell him I want two dates--when I will hear back and when the reel will be done. He replies, "Will definitely get back to you tomorrow morning with the date of the reel." 12/5 morning--I receive a text saying, "we are figuring out a date we just want to make sure we give you definite answer and date." He says I'll hear back "for sure by later today." That doesn't happen. 12/6 morning--He texts, "we are just waiting on a confirmation for something to lock in a date" and "you will definitely have a date today." It doesn't happen. 12/7 (today)--Since they haven't held up their end, I'm reposting the review I never should've taken down. Being able to provide 100+ meals for kids swayed me, but I'd rather refund their donation than ever deal with them again. I will personally donate $300 to my son's charity to make up for the loss of the 100+ meals. read more

What a lovely place! The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They have a cute "insta-worthy" wall for folks to sit and dine in if they wanted on their treats or take them to go. They have every sweet treat you can imagine... all kinds of cookies, cupcakes, etc. I have been in twice and gotten an array of things each time and found it all to be tasty. It's reasonably priced AND if you're just looking for a little treat for yourself or your family, they have a little sale area of day old or the day after a holiday section. First of all, the shop is EPIC. So so so cute! So many cute selfie spots and overall just beautiful. The cupcake, brownie, cookie (yes they have some for dogs!), cinnamon bun, and other pastry options are just remarkable. Everyone will find something they want (even if it's the lemonade that they also sell). Let's talk pies and sugar cookies. Pflour shops pies are some of the best in Austin. The crust is perfect and whichever filling you get is going to be amazing! We've tried their pumpkin, apple, and lemon pies, and they were delicious. Worth the calories. We've ordered custom cookies from here and the people who received them thought they were so cute, but more importantly they tasted incredible. Woah, this bakery is by far the best around when it comes to cookies and cupcakes. Sure, their special cupcakes can get a bit intense, but the flavors and the consistency is bar none in this area of town. We've been searching for our go-to sweet treat spot in north Austin. We've tried Quacks time and again, tried Paper Route, Patisserie, Bakery 85, cookies from all over, and nothing comes close to Pflour. Their cookies are the perfect combo of firm and chewy, and their cupcakes are perfectly moist and flavored with the appropriate amount of tasty buttercream icing (unless you get a special one, those can get carried away). It's a little pricey, but honestly worth it for a special treat now and then. We're excited to try their full cakes when we have a reason to splurge. Thanks for the tasty treats, y'all! read more

First time in today. Cute store front, simple, clean and pretty baked goods catch your eye. The cupcakes and decorated cookies bring a smile quickly but then I saw the pecan bar and a snickerdoodle blondie. The pecan bar is 4"×4" buttery, nutty goodness. They accepted it, but took a week to get back to us on some finishing details, when the girl at the front counter told us they'd get back to us in a day or two, so we decided to follow up ourselves. And these people never picked up. We ended up smoothing that out eventually. But still, incredibly disappointing and unprofessional, I could see these people were going to be flaky. And today cancelled last minute due to the weather condition. Which isn't a problem, but you would think they would you know CALL their clients to give them a heads up. Came in on a weekday, looking for a croissant, but discover they're only available on weekends. No prob, there's tons of other options. I ordered two peanut butter chocolate "bronuts" (brownie doughnut) and a cinnamon roll. Slight sticker shock when I was charged $15, but you pay for quality, in overpriced Austin. The bronuts were great, but very sweet. The cinnamon roll roll was completely raw, under seasoned with cinnamon. The staff person was extremely friendly and helpful, cool space, but Upper Crust is better for cheaper, and Epicerie is way better for the same price. I appreciate the effort it takes to make all the custom decorated sugar cookies but I just paid $12 for a package of 4 very small sugar cookies. First the good things... the shop decor was adorable. It is a great place to take pictures. We went for my daughter's birthday and I got adorable snap shots of her. The place was clean and friendly. I ordered a bag of the Mexican wedding cookies and they were very delicious! Now for the negatives... the cupcakes were underwhelming at best. The cake part was dry and over baked, possibly old and stale. The icing was overly sweet, too much, and too stiff. My 4 year old didn't even eat her 5 dollar chocolate cupcake. I had a banana Oreo cupcake but all I could taste was overly sweet icing and bland dry cake. The worst thing was my daughter and I picked out a cupcake each and one for my husband and the wedding cookies and when we went to pay, the total came out to 38 dollars and after tip I paid more than 40 dollars. I didn't know how much the cakes were and wasn't really paying close attention until I got to the car and saw that the girl had put 5 cupcakes in our box plus the wedding cookies. I have no idea how she misheard us order because I never mentioned the kind of cakes she added to the order. It was strange. I didn't bring them back, we just left. But I probably won't go back.
