I really enjoyed this place. I have been to a few other Philly cheesesteak store around the area and this is my favorite. The meat isn't dry and it's really juicy and it reminded me of the cheesesteak back in the east coast. I really enjoyed the ambiance here but I could be a little biased because I'm a huge Philly fan and they have the whole store decorated in Philly team gear, picture and jerseys. Like 99.9% of the rest of the people in the world, my experience in cuisines from around the US and the rest of the world is limited. I'm lucky enough to live in San Diego County, where the cities are large enough to have good sized immigrant populations that can open up restaurants to share flavors from back home. I've eaten multiple pizza and BBQ styles, Indian, Iranian, multiple regions of Thai, Ethiopian, Chinese, Japanese, the list goes on. And while I sometimes think I have a good idea of how certain foods are supposed to taste, I'm reminded that having copies down the street is a far cry from going there to sample it from the source. Now, I like Philly Frank's. I mean, it's thinly sliced meat, grilled and salted to mouth-watering tenderness, served up with sautéed onions and sweet peppers, and then smothered in cheese whiz before being stuffed into a warm roll, what's not to love? But, I've never actually been to Philadelphia to grab one from a street vendor or had the standard from Jim's or Dalessandro's in the City of Love. Because of this, I have no real basis of comparison. But, my wife has and she swears up and down that the way they are here is nothing like getting a greased up roll of hot meat, smothered in cheese sauce, and served in a shining piece of wax paper back east. Honestly, comparing the pics, they look pretty spot on, but I still have to defer to the woman I love on this. Regardless, Frank's is very tasty. The cost is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. They've got a great selection of fries, rings, and chips to add on to your meal. The regular sandwiches are also pretty good. And last, they've got Tastykakes! I honestly need to come out here more often. I have been going to Philly Franks Steak for over 20 years and had good service nice people. I ordered my Cheese Steak and was waiting for it. A older red headed woman came from out of the back I assume she was the Manager the way she was talking and I have never seen her here before. She proceeded to abuse verbally the poor female employee then went off on two men that placed their order. Uber food delivery men came in and she verbally abused them also. One man just left and said he doesn't need this shit in his life, and walked out. I would have walked out of there also but I had already paid for my order. It is almost Christmas and it is very sad to see someone act like this. I would hope that she would apologize to her employees for her bad behavior. read more

We've been coming here for over 10 years and NEVER had a problem. I'm posting this for the business owner so that they are aware that their closing shift employees just lost you a loyal customer. We ordered whiz on the side as usual. The food arrived with what appeared as literally an entire bottle of cheese whiz dumped onto each sandwich . It was 2 inches deep. We were starving, so we tried scraping it off, but the whiz soaked all the way through the roll and the food was inedible. It left a very bad taste in our mouths. We want you to know we will never step foot in your establishment again, and the cook who dumped that whiz on our sandwich did it intentionally. No one can eat a bottle of whiz without getting sick.
