This has become our go to place after sports event, for play dates and just when we need a warm soft pretzel fix! We've been going here more often lately, which is good for them and bad for my waistline! Needless to say, the shop is under new ownership and the owners are so friendly and accommodating and working really hard to change whatever bad rep the previous owner/establishment had. The pretzels are warm and soft and chewy and taste delicious with the cheese sauce. Beware though - the nacho cheese is SPICY! We even recently tried the brownie mix topping and were blown away? Was I the only one who didn't know brownie batter and hot pretzels taste so good? The rivets/little nugget pretzels are awesome and so reasonably priced - I got a whole bucket of like 50-60 little pretzels for only $12. Speaking of which, the deals are really good and the prices strike me as pretty cheap for this chewy goodness! There are always a ton of promotions whether it's local to their shop or from the company itself. Follow them on Facebook for some special deals. While I'm not a pretzel fan myself, these are quite good. I'm mostly giving this a 5 star review as the young gentleman that assisted us was incredibly kind and professional. While I've worked in this industry when I was younger, I know you can pay for someone to work but for them to smile while doing it, makes a great difference. New ownership. Just came back from their grand opening special. The pretzels are very tasty, and not oily at all. It was very soft and warm, with just enough amount of salt. I really expected more from this Philly Pretzel Factory. It's a takeout place with very little seating. In the summers the store is pretty hot. Employees are on their phones and even though it's not too busy, the service was quite slow. Pretzels were ok, nothing amazing. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience. I'd go if i was craving a pretzel and was walking by it, but I wouldn't go out of my way grab a pretzel here. read more

The people working there at this location are so rude and barely give you the time of day. I walk in this afternoon and order 6 pretzels and present the buy 3 get3 free coupon on my phone and with a major attitude and barely able to speak English she says "no only printed out." I said it doesn't say that on the coupon which was emailed to me by the way. It was not until I told her I will not take the pretzels that she says "ok I do it" like she is doing me a favor and gives me this look like I did something wrong. Then I hand her a $20 bill and she gives me 17 single $ bills in change which I think she did on purpose to annoy me further without asking if that was okay. Well, sit down hun, 'cause now I can get these on my own in Livingston. Cheap pretzels coming out piping hot from the oven. A good sprinkling of salt, extremely doughy and soft center, with a great selection of dipping sauces. My favorite is the mustard but their sweet sauces (like cinnamon) is pretty interesting. When asked about mustard sizes, a response of "they are over there" was given. When asked how much something was the response was, "like $3". I believe this was from the owner. I want to share the horrible experience I had at this store on 10/31/2018!. Walking in at 1:00 pm to purchase pretzels there were 5 pretzels under the heater. I asked for a dozen and a half and the man behind the counter said he didn't have any, while behind him the woman is pulling dozens of hot pretzels out of the oven. I asked the man well what about those, he told me they were all for orders. I explained to the him that I was visiting from Florida and had driven down, from my daughters house in Roxbury, so that I could take some pretzels back to Florida he just stood there, at first he asked if I could wait 18 minutes, and then with complete indifference, said actually even if I waited he couldn't make me the pretzels I asked for. He rudely told me there was nothing he could do to accommodate me. I'm a strong believer in supporting local businesses, and we have shopped this store for years. Sadly there was no effort by anyone (there were three people behind the counter) to satisfy a return customer, leaving me with an extremely disappointing experience. This is the full-fledged pretzel factory where everything is made in house starting with the flour and other raw ingredients. I purchased 15 regular pretzels for what I thought was a bargain price of $8, especially compared to the prices at other chains at the malls where just one pretzel can cost $2 - $3. The pretzels were served warm, lightly salted and cooked just to the right amount of brownness. Unlike some other Philly Pretzels Factories I've been to, the bottom of the pretzels were also cooked to a crisp instead of being burnt. When I was there I was served by a very helpful and friendly woman who made you feel very welcome. I'll definitely be going back. read more

They are just like the stadium soft pretzels. Delicious when they come out of the oven. Inedible once they're cold. They reheat fairly well in the oven, but they're just not the same as that fresh baked taste. The dipping sauces are just so-so. They only one I cared for was the honey mustard. They'll do custom style pretzels. Fun for children's birthday parties. They'll do number pretzels or other designs for a modest upcharge. It was a little disconcerting that when I'd ordered pretzels ahead of time for a party and they first put them in the oven when I went to pick them up. I admit, I was 5 minutes early, but they were not ready until at least 10 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time. Were they expecting me to eat 30 or so pretzels straight out of the oven? This place is phenomenal. I've noticed some people complaining about their order for the Super Bowl today. Well shame on them! Yes the wait was longer than usual, but it's probably the busiest time of the year! Despite the longer wait time, I still got my order, hot and delicious, and the whole crowd was pleased. The pretzel dogs are to die for, genuine Dietz & Watson taste. Overall I had a great experience, people need to learn to be more patient and understanding and not complain on Yelp just because they weren't treated like King's or Queen's. read more

My experience was not great today. I left with no pretzels after waiting for hot nips to come out. I put an order in they didn't fill my order. They filled the lady in front of me and then the guy behind me but when she went to fill mine she wanted to give me cold ones after I waited for hot ones. I told them to keep them. We've ordered Pretzel platters from this store on multiple occasions and when we go to pick it up on the date and time that's written on the order, it's never ready and causes us to have to wait for them to make a platter, or better yet, the worker takes someone else's platter and gave it to us. . Sorry, but selling pretzels isn't (or shouldn't) be that hard. Today, I brought in my loyalty card with 10 stamps at 2PM. The lone worker was in the back corner fiddling with his phone or PC. I walks up to the front. I'd like 10 unsalted pretzels please. Oh we don't have unsalted. Why don't you try the salted ones? That's too much salt. You can make them, right? Uh..... ok. Goes into the fridge with his bare hands, takes out 10. Brings them to the work counter, Takes some other things out of the oven, then more things out of the oven. Then puts on gloves and puts mine on a tray. Puts them in the oven and walks back to his corner. A few minutes later, walks up with 1 glove on (1 hand bare). (I think he took 1 glove off to work his touch sensitive screen of the phone? And handling the phone and everything else back there with the other gloved hand? With out adding another glove / changing the first glove, he takes the pretzels out of the oven and puts them in a bag. They were raw / very doughy inside. Between that, his half awake attitude and bare handling the food, I threw them away. So much for loyalty. I'll go to Auntie Anne in the mall. They have better parking anyway! read more

Instead of bringing an app to a friends' house I bring a tray of rivets - especially when there's kids around (they get so excited, "PRETZELS!!" it's so funny!) And the owners couldn't be nicer! Every time I come in this place it's a fiasco with one of the terrible employees that they've hired to work there. On my most recent visit I walked in and the place reeked like bleach with one of the employees spraying it all over the front area where the food is and cursing because he was sweating from the job. He then proceeded to jump behind the counter and asked me what I wanted, keep in mind you he never washed his hands after handling the chemicals which were making it hard to breathe. It makes you think G do I really need this pretzel? It's really a shame because I'm from Pennsylvania and I love Philly pretzels but this place would never survive in Philly or anywhere else with a health code. I'm done trying! read more

We served these pretzels for the after party for our wedding, and it was one of the best wedding-related decisions we made. After a long day of ceremonies, dancing, and drinking, fresh pretzels with a variety of dipping sauces really hit the spot. They even baked them in the shape of our initials, with some hearts thrown in, as well. Pretzels seem like a totally random idea, but our guests absolutely loved it. My girlfriend and I had a party to go this past weekend, so we thought it would ve a nice gesture to bring a pretzel platter complete with dipping sauces. She called Thursday to make sure we reserved the platter early. The party was 7:00pm Saturday night. PPF in livingston told her, sure no problem. See you Saturday. She calls Saturday gives her name and she had originally wanted the pick up the order at 5:00, but was running late, so would 6:30 be alright? PPF says sure. She gets there at 6:45 and the Dufus behind the counter tells her we have no order in her name, we're out of pretzels, and we close at 7:00pm. Well, I guess PPF has lost some loyal customers. Had a corporate outing coming up, won't be recommending this location to my company. Maybe we'll find another catering company who is more professional. read more

Ordered 2 rows of mini pretzels. When I got home many of the pretzels were over cooked, some burnt. I had to throw most of them in the garbage. Very disappointed. I do not live close, but I had been there before (not over cooked) and made a special trip there because the other location close to me also overcooked their pretzel. Customer Service and a great product. I live in Oregon and have a teenage nephew who is in the hospital in NJ. I wanted to get something to him that he would enjoy and the Philly pretzel factory was what he asked for. I called, asking if they deliver. The gentleman who answered, said he'd have the owner - manager call me back because she was the only one who did deliveries. I really didn't have any expectation that I'd get a call back. Twenty minutes later, a women called me, asked what I needed. I asked if they could deliver pretzels that same day to the children's hospital a few towns away. It was already afternoon there but she didn't hesitate to say yes! She took my order, emailed me a copy of the receipt and said that she was delivering another order to the same hospital and would personally deliver them to my nephew! I was very excited when I had first read about Philly Pretzel Factory coming to the area. Although I was not familiar with this chain I had higher hopes for it. In short, it is a step up from a SuperPretzel and is no comparison to a Wetzel's Pretzel or an Auntie Anne's. I ordered the regular salted pretzel, which left much to be desired...and oh how I missed that yummy, buttery coating that those other places use! I was also disappointed that they did not offer fountain lemonade on the menu, which is something that I routinely order when consuming a soft pretzel. The website does show that they carry a frozen lemonade, which was not the case when we visited in the summer, perhaps because they had just recently opened up shop. I am always ready, willing and able to travel long lengths for food, but I actually left this place with a feeling that I had wasted my time driving only from Morris to Essex County when I could have just stayed local and patronized the Auntie Anne's in the Rockaway Mall.
