This is our go to place when we are in the mood for amazing sandwiches and fries. The food is always a Five Star. The service, cleanliness, and friendliness of staff is always right on. I am writing this review on behalf of my mom, whom doesn't have a Yelp Account. We ordered two separate large orders, over the last year or so and couldn't be happier, with their service. The most recent order (a couple of weeks ago) the gentlemen stayed on the phone with my mom while she put together the large order, and even called back when it was closer to pick up time, to confirm the order and suggest a couple of ways to make the order less in cost and easier (EX: combing the fries to a "tray" of fries, instead of individual bags, ect). When we arrived to pick it up, he insisted in giving us sodas on the house, while they packed up the order for us! And, the customer service cherry-on-the-top, was when he insisted he carry out and pack the car, with our food. This is all on top of the food being Philly approved! Five star service here. The man that appeared to be the owner was super friendly. They honored our yelp check-in which was a huge bonus! Free French fry. The "charged" us for them but took $2 Off each sandwich. It worked out. The Philly cheese was amaze as usual. The French fries were a little soggy but are a necessity for the meal. Best philly sandwich hands down in Placentia, Yorba Linda, Brea, and near by! I was from the south bay but now I found my new philly's spot!

The guy who owns this place is shady. Just look at the other reviews. Portions has substantially decreased since 2014-15 and the cheesesteaks today have more bread than meat in terms of ratio. Along with this, we are charged a different amount EVERY time we go, despite ordering the same items. Oh, you have a coupon? He will tell you which one to use, to get the largest soda (are you noticing a theme?) and to order onion rings or fries. He claims it's the same price with or without them. It's a shame really, because as someone who was born and raised in Philly, the cheesesteaks here aren't terrible- but the service and lack of customer service really makes me think twice about continuing to patronize this location. read more

I was driving around trying to figure out what to eat and I remembered this place. I haven't been to Philly so I have no clue if it can compare. I ordered the Philly's Best Cheese steak, which included onions, green and red peppers and mushrooms. The sandwich itself is a bit pricey, about $8. But its a good size, on a french role. My friend ordered the Philly's Best Chicken sandwich. The cheese was completely melted and tasted ooh soo yummy. Fries were nothing to brag about, I've had better fries elsewhere. If you have the balls to use the word "BEST" in the name of your restaurant, I don't exactly take it literally but I expect it to be damn good. EEERRTTTT! WRONG It's sad when the one sandwich you specialize in isn't all that good. onions, mushrooms, peppers, steak, cheese in a french roll, you would think with all those foods combined it would have to be good simply by default right? Well no, one words comes to mind when describing a Philly cheese steak from Philly's best and that is "bland, plain, boring and dull"... well okay maybe 4 words. I've come up with a few more suitable names they should have gone with instead of "Phillys Best" and they are - Phillys mediocre - Bland at it's BEST - What you couldn't find a Subway? - Togo's... Hany is amazingly nice, but the karate place across from him always takes all the parking so there's never a place to park. Lately the doors are open and flies swarming while you try to eat. Used to be a regular but now I avoid it. It's out of the way for me and not worth the time and gas only to not be able to have a meal there. I must review my hometown joints :P This place tastes like all the other Philly's Best haha but I'm reviewing this location since it's in my hood! You do get the authentic feel at this place from the bottled drinks, to rolling rock beer, the chips and snacks and the bread that they use all come from Philly. (not that i've been to Philly but that's what I'm told). The main item which is the Philly Cheesesteak is very good and the bread makes it even better. For me the only complaint is, that it's too small LOL. I could probably eat two of them! The Fries are ok, they aren't the best but its good enough and the Onion Rings are just ok. I don't like the way the batter is on the Onion rings...kinda too thick. For comparison: I like the Hat's Onion rings. The Philly's Best in Placentia is better than the rest. A great deal of my family is from Philadelphia and I eat the things non-stop when I visit the City of Brotherly Love. I've eaten at Pat's, I've eaten at Geno's and 87 other places in Philadelphia so I think I have a wide range of experience from which to draw. Why is Philly's Best better than the rest. Well, first of all, let me tell you that my brother and I go out of our way to drive to this shop. 1) It is always clean. 2) The owner and the staff are always friendly. 3) They always check our order and it's always right. It's about as authentic as you can get without getting on an airplane. In addition to all that good stuff, even their cold sandwiches are good. They stock Tastycakes which you generally can't find out here in California. If you have a hanker'in (That's Southern talk) for a cheese steak sandwich, pass yourself down to Philly's Best in Placentia and you will have a guaranteed good sandwich. read more

I had a pretty bad experience here. I was in a rush, so I thought this would be a quick take out. WRONG! It took me 20 minutes to get my damn cheesesteak and fries. The food sucked too. bread was hard and difficult to tear apart with my teeth. The sandwich was dry, I had to add ketchup to it. The meat lacked flavor, and it just felt cheap. Not a lot of cheese, and the grilled onions were few. The only good thing was the fries were super hot and right out of the fryer.This place has cheap cheesesteaks and hoagies ($5), but cheap doesn't mean it's edible. Went in not expecting too much and left with a smile and slightly more belly fat (which the ladies love). Good eats, great portions, unhealthy as hell but tasty food for the Philly soul. Bathroom was fairly clean. My advice: if you are some freak that watches fat, calories, and wants to live so long that social security has to declare bankruptcy then avoid this place like a bag of delicious real butter. It seems like Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches are hard to find in the OC. This was my first experience to Philly's Best, which I ordered their signature sand which, which is called the Philly's Best. This contains steak, cheese, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. The sand which was good but I feel it could have been better! When I eat a philly cheese steak sand which, I expect greasy, dripping, goodness, and full of flavor! This sand which lacked all of the above and wasn't quite as piping hot as it could have been. On the pricey side for a sandwich, but this place is leaps and bounds better that the junk other places attached the name "Philly" to. I noticed some other people on here had a bad time with the service, but the guy at the counter was exceptionally nice on my visit. This location is also better than the one on Tustin Ave. I also picked up a jar of their Hoagie Spread, which was kinda expensive but is really good and goes with everything from sandwiches to hot dogs. After having gone to the restaurant for 5+ years now, I am going to stop visiting this establishment. My last few encounters with the two guys working the register have left a sour taste in my mouth. The last 10 visits or so I've gone to I order my typical Philly steak sandwich (which is excellent btw, no knock on the food [pro-tip ask for their hot sauce]). So in conjunction with order, I use the yelp check-in on my phone to get an order of fries for free and I use the kiosk email check in to wrack up rewards towards a free sandwich. I get a look from the workers every time I do this... They started to do things like only give me 2 dollars off a fries instead of giving me the entire fries for free. Then this last time they tried to charge me for something else after taking the fries off. I am to the point where I feel comfortable trying to input my email, cause they are just looking at me and give me a different tone of voice after I use their system. The reason you use the kiosk check in and yelp check in is get this... TO GET PEOPLE TO COME BACK TO YOUR STORE... but why are you giving me dirty looks for me using those services YOU INSTALLED? I will be collecting my final reward of a sandwich from the kiosk check-in and that will be my last visit. read more

This food is terrible. They gave me the worst overcooked fries that were brown and the cheesesteak had barely any meat. I will definitely not waste my money here again. There's a bagel shop right next door that makes great burgers, way better than the trash sandwich I paid for. read more

Soooo good. Came here to watch the laker game and enjoy a good sandwich. I got the buffalo chicken. OMG so good. It was a different take on a standard buff chicken sandwich too. It wasnt breaded chicken, like I normally see, but sliced tender chicken with tons of buffalo sauce and cheese. While we were here some stoners came in after us and ordered a bunch of food. While they waited for their food, they spent the whole time talking about everything on the menu and then returned to the counter to order more. These guys had the munchies.
