Such an adorable location very sweet employees the product was very good, but sadly they don't take cash. I'm afraid I won't be back. I appreciate the kindness of the young lady to offer a free coffee, which was generous, but didn't feel good knowing I didn't pay for the product. Seems a lot of the businesses in this area are going cashless. And I'm not getting on board that train. not the direction I or many others, wanna go in these last days God's word talks about the cashless society. I pray people would wake up! Update after a response from Tamara- I appreciate your reply. But that still does not resolve the fact that you many others today are not taking cash. I placed a mobile order and once I got notification that my drinks were ready for pickup. As I arrive inside the coffee shop, I see two out of my three drinks there. I advise Amanda that I am still waiting for one more drink and she replies "WHAT?!" - with extreme attitude. It really caught me off guard. She brought me my last drink, I said "thank you" and she just walked away. I'm just very disappointed with this level of customer service. read more

4 stars because this Philz location is consistently awesome and the employees are very friendly! One minor disappointment was that today I simply asked for a pinch of sea salt on top of the Honey Haze and the gal who I think was the store manager insisted they cannot do that--only for the Caramel Cardamom drink and said it was too bad because she had tons of salt left. She explained that they apparently are not allowed to use it on anything other than that one approved drink. Lordy...this just shouldn't be a big deal and in my opinion a pinch of sea salt on the Honey Haze would make it absolute perfection and would balance out the sweetness. If a customer knows they're going to enjoy their drink more with a super simple modification like that, why not just honor it? No one would have known if she'd "broken the rule" and just put a damn pinch of salt on it. I will bring my own salt next time....LOL. read more

Horrible place to get coffee! Waiting time is ridiculously long. I think it is a little excessive that I needed to wait an hour to order. I understand that it's a new location that is popular, so a crowd is expected. However, from what it looked like to me, the reason for the long line was a direct result of poor management. I felt bad for the nice lady at the register (Emily) who constantly needed to flip back and forth from taking orders and completing hot food orders. Had a difficult time with cashier. Explained that I needed a cup holder for three drinks I needed to transport via bike. Cashier refused even when I kinda explained my situation. I even offered to pay for the cupholder itself after purchasing three drinks. Cashier still refused to give me one and I have been a customer for a while. I ordered 2 coffees exactly the same and 2 bagels. Don't get me wrong they have good coffee, but the service terrible. I get a place being busy, I was patient and waited for my name to be called but after 30 minutes no call. I had seen the lady upfront hand deliver everybody else's food but I had to go look for mine by the time I did that my bagels were cold. I really wanted to try but I couldn't wait longer than 25 min with only 2 people ahead of me with my baby...it was a mission to find parking and it was not stroller friendly I had to lift stroller up curb..than once I was up the curb their was a rail. Maybe I didn't see another accessible route so I'm not 100% sure. Hopefully I'll be able to try in the near future with reasonable time. read more

Why not have another person taking orders and another doing the food. Everyone looked sloppy had sweatshirts and regular shirts on and the girl who took our order was not friendly. Talk about customer service! First time coming here and was not impressed. I've heard so much about this place and all good things, but I have to say my experience wasn't one that has me wanting to come back. I don't know if the barista was having a bad day because it was early in the morning, but she doesn't have to come off with attitude immediately. my name gets called so I walk over to her and I smile, and she just gives me a stink face look I proceed to tell her hello with a smile and then she places my drinks on the counter. Maybe it was my fault because I asked her if she had lids, and she tells me something along the lines of hold on I'll get them for you but in a very condescending tone. Like I truly get we all have our bad days but don't do that to the customers. I also have a job where I have to work with the public so I know that I have to set aside whatever issues I'm having. So just do better lady and work on your customer service skills. read more

I absolutely LOVE Philz Coffee. The first time I tried it was in San Francisco and I instantly feel in love with the amazing taste of the coffee. My go-to is a Large Iced, Sweet and Creamy Tesora. It is absolutely divine! But I recently tried the Mint Mojito (iced) and that was really good. I don't like sweet drinks but both of these have the perfect amount of sweetness and the mint flavor isn't overpowering. My husband gets the Jacob's Wonder with no cream or sugar and he loves the rich and amazing taste of the coffee on it's own. We used to have to wait until we were up North to drink Philz's coffee, then started driving to Fullerton but now that they are in Whittier, it's our favorite coffee spot and we frequent it almost daily :) Their breakfast items have all been really tasty also. Philz does not disappoint and I highly recommend it! Another thing I absolutely love is the customer/staff interaction as well as the ease of the mobile ordering. Yes, it is a little busy in the mornings but you can pre-order and set a time (if it's not too busy it'll be like 15 minutes - I'd recommend ordering at least 30 minutes ahead and designating a pick up time during rush hours) and the app will tell you when you head over and who is working on your drink. I really hope the Whittier community and surrounding communities go to Philz and keep it running! We need places like this and other yummy shops in our City! read more

I appreciate the hard work of the staff, they were friendly and just trying to accommodate all the customers and the demand for coffee. What I didn't appreciate was what looks to be the owner blonde lady wearing leggings and a white tank top. Sitting in her office completely disregarding the chaos of all the people waiting in the lobby for their coffee. The customers had questions, however the owner (or who ever that was) didn't take the time to manage the lobby, allowing the baristas time to make the drinks and not be interrupted by customers asking about the status of their order. If I was the barista, I would appreciate my boss lending a helping hand, and being hands on. Philz coffee, you have to do better, this is not your first store, you have experience, you have a brand to maintain.
