The first time I ordered from them I didn't even realize it was 15mins before they were closing and only noticed when I saw their hours on the door when I picked it up. Let me tell you, for take out from a place that was about to close, I've never had such fresh food. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, pass on this place. I was shocked at how terrible the food was. We're not crazy critical about Viet food, but wow. The bun bo hue had zero flavor, the chicken in the pho ga was super chewy, and the popcorn chicken wasnt crispy. Now with the service, you cant expect good service at a true Viet restaurant because service is always quick and they want you out of there asap. I dont mind that and it's expected as long as the food is good. However, this place is missing the basics. No utensils and napkins unless asked for, i asked for hot tea multiple times and the server kept forgetting, asked for a straw for the ice water and they forgot, and the food took a long time to come out. Mind you, it wasn't very busy when i visited. Anyways, i hate to knock on small businesses, but do yourself a favor and take the 10 minute drive to a better Vietnamese restaurant in Simi. read more

They catered to my toddler by bringing her crayons, and when her soup came out they brought a cup of ice to cool her soup and plastic cutlery. The food was delicious and hit the spot. Decided to throw in my two cents, because I'm always skeptical when I get pho outside of Viet ethnoburbs like OC, San Jose, Houston, etc. So what do I do when confronted with a new pho place? I check Yelp for Viet sounding names and see what they think. There seems to be two standards for pho on Yelp: "is this a good beef noodle soup?" standard, and "is this pho?" standard. Many pho places on Yelp have high reviews, because they serve a good beef noodle soup, but the broth doesn't have the steeped spices that make pho pho. So for other Viets, yes, this is pho. The broth (or should I say stock) is beefy, a tad bit salty, and redolent with the pho spices. The 100 special has tripe and tendon, not as much as I would like, but it's pretty standard. I disagree with the lower review that opined that the broth tasted like it was made from a powder. I've tried to make pho from a powder before, and it was nowhere as good as this. Definitely serviceable if you are in the area. read more

I walked in with 20mins to spare, craving some good pho, but not wanting to take it to go. The lady at the register instantly took my order. Less than 5mins later I had my delicious Thai tea and a big bowl of amazing pho in front of me! It was sooo good, too!!! What a wonderful experience my family had at PHO 100! Even though we live in Moorpark, we have somehow missed this absolute gem. Food was fresh and delicious. Meat was all fat, brought me the wrong soup, wonton was missing the shrimp it was literally just wonton. Egg roll was burned. Bean sprouts were brown and not fresh. Basil was just the stems. Took 10 minutes to get a drink on the table and the place was empty. Was pouring rain out side and freezing cold inside. So so excited about this place!! The food was seriously amazinggggg! Honestly the best pho I've had. The customer service was a bit of a struggle but it's clear that they're still figuring things out since they just opened so no hard feelings. We had a spicy beef noodle soup which had such good flavor! It came with thicker noodles and not many but the pho comes with a TON of noodles so my hubby put half of his in mine which was perfect. Next time I would order it again but ask for the pho noodles instead. Hubby had the brisket round steak pho and that also had great flavor. Definitely worth giving it a try! Started to go to Pho 100 about a few months ago. The usual place that I go to was closed for remodelling. The other place in Simi Valley just did not do it for me. Too much star anise and tasted a bit "unbalanced". From the first taste of the broth, it was "wow" at first sip. The broth is slightly sweet without losing the savoriness for a beef broth. Also tried the rice plate with grilled pork. Very yummy. They also have Pork rolls for appetizer...it is basically the same as spring rolls but with pork...a bit more tasty. The owner just told me that he will have banh mi. That would be epic. I love the combination 11 at Lees sandwich. If he has that then I will just camp outside Pho 100 for lunch and dinner. So, this is the second time at Pho 100 and while their service is great I can't help but feel their Pho base lacks flavor. This time around we ordered the beef plate and two large chicken pho's. Without question service was great super nice and cordial. The beef was also very good and tasty. Perhaps the rice was a little on the dry side, but all in all very good. So, now onto the Pho. I realize Pho is not supposed to have a strong soup base but this one really lacks flavor. We tried all combinations to get the right flavor for our palette but it just is t quite there. I really wished that the flavor was there because we like this place other than that. In fact, I figured the first time we went it was an off day. Unfortunately that was not the case. Again the service is great the ambiance is good and the portion sizes are spot on. It's just that the flavor wasn't quite there.
