I don't ever recall being served food this old. I only had a few bites but it was enough to make me sick for two days. It wasn't my idea to eat there and once I got inside I really didn't want to eat there the place is dirty not well managed and isn't the quality of food that I would even give a dog. We stopped in for some pho yesterday for the first time. I wanted to check this place out for the past few months since it's so close to home. It has a nice big sign outside so you can't miss it. It looks like it is in an old VFW. Enter the main door and turn left. To the right is some sort of banquet hall that still allows smoking indoors apparently. Plenty of seating inside the restaurant. We arrived and picked where we wanted to sit. There are many customers in the restaurant getting pho or noodle dishes. The menu is pretty big. We chose beef pho without the rice noodles. They substituted the noodles with extra bean sprouts and we asked for extra veggies. We also got an order of fried garlic and fish sauce. They were more fishy and sweet than garlic. I don't recommend them. The pho broth was pretty bland which was disappointing. We were pleased with the amount of veggies especially the sliced green cabbage. We ordered a pad Thai beef to go for our son. He said it was sweet and just ok. The service was quick and friendly but you have to go to the hostess desk to pay. Prices are very reasonable. Check this place out to see if it is what you're looking for but for me, there are other places that have better pho. read more

Seems like a small business so they only had 2 staff waiting table. The waiter was friendly, nice, and refilled water. Delivery was early but items were not marked so it was hard to figure out which was which version of pho. Food was tasty so they get a 4/5.

The food was BOMBBBBB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to try a few things when I got here, because my family ALWAYS talks about how GOOD the food is here. Luckily I suckered my little cousin to share a pork banh mi and I ordered the Hu Tieu (rice noodle soup (pork broth)). I also got to try the egg rolls (it was shared around the table). To start the egg roll has a unique wrap, it's extra crispy kind of like fried rice paper sheet (think spring roll), BUT it has extra crispiness on the outside with a rough texture. It's a great unique texture. Flavor-wise it's on point with a good pork savory taste. When the banh mi arrived it looked like it came from the heavens... oil or butter brushed bun perfectly toasted. Not too big, just the right size and gleaming pork hanging just slightly out-the-bun. After one bite I had to say it was the bet banh mi I ever had (non-traditional). Super tasty flavored pork, the crispiness of the bun was REAL; real as in it went from a visual into a sensual. Fresh vegetables to add lightness and a good spicy from the jalapeno. The Hu Tieu was also great.... Super clean pork broth. H O T, which I don't expect all the time, all the way around including the meats. The flavor was notice-able and there but didn't overpower the dish. Almost a perfect taste. You don't need to add anything to it. The only thing I didn't like was the noodles (though it goes in this dish otherwise it wouldn't be Hu Tieu). The rice noodles just don't take in the flavor well enough :( The only thing that I didn't like was the decor. I'll have to go back and try a couple more dishes. I'm on the edge about 5 stars, but the food was just too good. If the rest come out and taste the same quality as what I've tried, definitely no qualms about 5-stars.!! read more

I usually dine here very often as its down the street from my workplace. Always has great food! BUT Husband and I stopped there for lunch on Thursday 1/27 and we decided to try something different. I was greeted at the door by a greeter / busboy / server who had his hat backwards and was dressed shabbily. I noticed dirt in the corners of the restaurant when I walked in. When I was about to pick my booth, I noticed a huge 1-2 inch gash on the vinyl seat exposing the foam (about a foot long). When I noticed the greeter / busboy/ server emptying soup into a bucket from a table post meal and then serving food to a customer, I decided to get up and head for the door without ordering. I'm quite certain he did not wash his hands before serving food to another customer. I had eaten food there before and it was excellent despite similar service. I'm concerned about their hygiene and cleanliness practices and won't be going back again. read more

Portions were good but everything we ordered was off. The wontons in the wonton soup had too much salt and black pepper and the broth was super salty and sweet. The short ribs plate was tough (meat)! And the broken rice was stale. The most disappointing was the banh mi. There's no pate and the bread is soggy. The bu bo hue was good. Probably the best pho shop in the area. The broth is consistently excellent! The apps, egg rolls, and Ban Mi are pretty standard and delicious. The service isn't always the best and the atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty outdated. I recommend take away. There are almost always people here and many Vietnamese families stopping in. Sure there are better places in Frogtown, but if this is closer, it's worth a stop. read more

First experience was through Doordash. Needed a hangover cure that delivered, found them. My expectations weren't that high because usually you have to go into the city for something decent. To my surprise the pho was actually good and had good flavor. Was not bland or missing anything like most places. Also, ordered a Banh Mi. Which they gave me the wrong one. I ordered a cold cut but received the grilled pork instead. I mean it wasn't that big of a deal I guess because the cold cut was cheaper. Ended up giving this to my mom which she thought was good. Which brings me to my second experience. Decided to dine in this time before work. Got the pho again and a Cold Cut Banh Mi to go for later. Well...... Kind of thrown off this time because right when the waitress placed my bowl down all I noticed was a nice piece of hair swimming in my broth. Yums... Was able to grab her attention right away before she disappeared. She brought me a new bowl but was kind of not excited to dig in after that. Service was really slow. The waiter came once for one water fill up and never saw anyone again. Finally figured that we just go up to the cashier to pay and get our own boxes. Lastly, my Banh Mi I ordered to go was not ready. They forgot to make it so had to wait after I paid to get it. They were taking quite a bit to make it which was getting annoying cause it was one sandwich. I found out they were toasting it. Usually places don't toast the sandwich for you unless you dine in. This ended up making my sandwich really dry when I ate at work for lunch. The butter already was soaked in the toasted bread which just dried everything out and............. Guess what??? Yup, wrong sandwich again! I get it the grilled pork does cost a bit more than the cold cut so I should feel like a winner but can a girl just get the right sandwich for once?!! But disappointed in the sandwich because it was dry. Everything was just dry and the jalapeno pieces were huge and barely and pickled veggies in there. We love supporting local businesses and we enjoy the food here, but we will NOT be returning customers anymore due to the service we received today. Every time we have dined, at least one of our orders comes out late as we are getting ready to leave- or gets forgotten completely. We've always let that pass in past. However, today, they proceeded to bill us for food because of their own unorganized indiligent keeping! First, they failed to serve us 4 dishes that our parties ordered. And proceeded to bill us for those dishes. AND THEN overbilled us for dishes that were already paid for, as our parties paid separately. Ordered to go: girlfriend got the broken rice w/grilled meatballs and I got the bahn mi (sandwich) with grilled pork. The meatballs! My girlfriend said she's had better, but I haven't. They're served on a skewer and have a nice char on the outside. They're juicy and have a sweetness from whatever they're marinated/basted in. The rice itself was good too, but for me, it was all about those meatballs. The sides it came with (pickled carrots/daikon and cucumbers) were crisp and clean. The sandwich was great too. The only downside for me was the bread. On any other sandwich, I'd have been more than happy with the bread. But, on a bahn mi, I have a higher standard. I want a flaky, almost crunchy outside and a soft, chewy center. It should be light and airy. The bread they're using is heavy. The outside isn't flaky/crunchy. The sandwich filling was great. The grilled pork was charred, but not dry. The meat to pickled vegetable/cilantro ratio was perfect. If they fix the bread though... They have LIMEADE!!! Most Vietnamese restaurants in the subarbs do not have limeade. We got a limeade and an iced coffee. Both great, both a little heavy on the ice. Probably great in the summer, but in the winter, we ended up with a ton of leftover ice. This is not an ambiance restaurant. It's clean, but sparse. But, if you're looking for very good, affordable food, this is your place. Almost forgot, we also got the egg rolls. They are large. One order could be a meal. They were also very greasy. Not sure if the oil wasn't hot enough, but they were pretty soaked with grease. They had good flavor, so I'd be willing to give them another chance. read more
