I enjoyed this place. Not the best compared to WA STATE & HAWAII. But, if you crave you crave. Its a nice atmosphere. The soup is good not awesome and their eggroll?!?!? Its not O.G. like they are stuffing it with whatever they are getting rid off that day or yesterday. I make eggrolls myself and I'd rather buy Jack in the box egg rolls then eat thier rolls again. I got a delivery order for this place and when I came to get the order they were acting as if it was closed and one guy just stared at me from inside instead of coming outside to explain. The customer got their refund, but still nowhere on the website, google, or Apple Maps did it say closed. read more

I've been here a handful of times and love it for lunch. Oh yeah Teavana is next door. Anyway, this place is close to where I work so it's definitely in rotation. There is even a Thai place closer to where I work and I still prefer this place because the pho is great and oh yeah so is the other stuff on the menu. The portion sizes are great and there's like a million things to choose from on the menu. Also, my vegetarian friend came with me and was able to order tofu pho with vegetable broth.. how accommodating for San Antonio. :) I'm glad they recently got another person to help wait the tables because it used to be a little slower, but even with the lunch crowd, the timing isn't bad. A lot people from base come here. They have good thai tea! I just read a review about food poisoning... I have NEVER gotten food poisoning from this place. I will definitely be returning. read more

Walked in, was told to sit wherever after 10 minutes I called a waiter over and they tell me they thought I was there for to go. I ordered a vegetable pho and they brought me a beef pho, I ordered tea and they brought me water, I didn't complain I ate what I got. When I was charged they rang up a tea and after I said I was brought a water the man ringing me up said he had to charge me for a tea After checking my table to see if I really did get only a water. But I have to say, the lemongrass chicken kebabs were life changing and I need it more in my life!!! Yeah don't come here. Guy who took our order was very rude. For 1 paid Thai, 1 lemon chicken, 1 sweet and sour chicken and a tea it came out to $46.93 when on the menu my pad Thai was $12.95 and the chicken were 8.95 should have been maybe $35 when I asked why the price difference he just shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know then proceeded to say well if you're paying in cash just pay me $40. The pad thai wasn't even good at all and the chicken was more batter than anything. Save your money and go somewhere else read more

I typically go here for pho on occasion, this time was so terrible I will never be going back. The woman that took my order did not even come to my table, she yelled from across the restaurant to take my order. She forgot an item on my order, which is fine, I kindly asked about it and she brought it out. I ordered the fried rolls, they were cold and mushy in the center. I asked her if she could take them back and she refused because my friend and I had already both taken a bite. We questioned how else would we know they are cold if we did not try them? She said we should have "only taken one bite, not two" and proceeded to argue. It was also dirty and smelled of sewage here, I will never be going back, very disappointed. read more

I came back for a second visit today with my daughter. This time it was time to try the pho. They gave various categories and I had one of the bowls under "adventurous". I don't remember the number, but it had tendon, tripe, and I believe flank. The tendon and tripe both had a light, delicious flavor. My daughter had the pho with brisket, which she enjoyed. Before delivering the entree they brought a plate with lime, jalapeños, mint, cilantro and bean sprouts to add to the pho. The jalapeños were fresh and added a great heat to the soup, while the sprouts added a nice crunch. Of course the cilantro adds its one of a kind flavor. One simple, but big difference in my opinion from my first visit was this time they refilled my tea and my daughter's water throughout our meal. Went to this place last night because I was feeling a little ill and wanted something with broth. I ended up changing my mind and tried their Sesame chicken because I am still hoping to find a place here in SA that makes it like the east coast. My girlfriend got their pho and we also had grilled pork spring rolls (not fried). It was a little busy in there but not more than usual for a weekend. Once we ordered our drinks we waited for about 10 minutes and the food was out piping hot and quick. The only problem is we still didn't have our appetizer. Now, don't get me wrong but the whole point of an appetizer is to keep you occupied until your main dish gets there. We waited and didn't eat thinking it would be out another minute or two. Nothing. Finally after about ten minutes the manager came over and asked if everything was okay and my girlfriend said we never got our spring rolls. We heard her yell at someone in the kitchen and then a couple minutes later they were on the table. The spring rolls are always really good, especially the ones that are not fried. The meat inside is really good but ours were missing cilantro, which they usually put in them. Then the pho was really good apparently, as she ate all of it and said she wished the meat was cut a little better because she had really big pieces that were hard to tear. My sesame chicken was good but it tasted just like the chicken in the vermmicelli plates. I don't know if their was hoisen sauce or something else it it but it tasted a little off. I was mildly disappointed just because of that but it was still pretty good, given that San Antonio has horrible sesame chicken from an east coast (NYC Chinese food standpoint). The worst part was just having to wait for anyone to come to the table, you can tell that they need more servers because you have to wait awhile for water. Oh and my other annoyance, if you use a garnish on your plate it still should be edible. The broccoli was hardly cooked, it was still cold and hard. San Antonio might not have a thriving pho culture, but there are a few places around town to get your fix. Pho Vy is fairly new, just a few months in operation, but they run an efficient, well-oiled machine. The restaurant is clean, well lit (I hate restaurants that are so dimly lit I ended up having to strain my eyes to see what I'm eating), and well staffed. Time from walking in the door to being seated with a menu - under 30 seconds Time to getting a drink in hand -under 90 seconds Time to placing order - within 2 minutes of getting drink Time to receiving food after order placed - 8 minutes The food is exceptional. It is fresh, hot, filled with plenty of delicious meat (they do not skimp on the meat here) and vegetables. The portions are hearty, even for a big eater and the presentation is fantastic for the price point. One thing that really stood out to me was their tea selection. The iced green tea is superb. You can get it in a glass, or, like me, get it in a to-go cup, which was pretty cute in itself. They mix your tea with the cane sugar and ice, shake it and put in a to-go cup, then heat seal a plastic film (complete with cute cartoon characters on it). A rather large straw with a beveled end is provided to pierce the film on the cup. When traveling with a drink in your car, these things are awesome because they're spill proof. If you're a pho fiend, this place is just what you need. read more

An excellent Pho restaurant in the Stone Oak area. It's located in what was once a Brazilian Steak House and another Asian restaurant. This time I think they will be here for the long haul. We ordered the crisp Vietnamese spring rolls which I'd rate a 5 alone! The fish sauce wasn't overly sweet as at some other places. We both had the bbq pork Pho and it was very good, although the "sides" I thought were a bit of a let down. ( I like mint!) Our server was efficient, but not overly out-going, which perhaps after a bad day, you couldn't blame him. It is a store front restaurant,so there's not a lot to write home about concerning the decor' but it is a very decent place for Pho if you live in the area and don't want to drive elsewhere. read more

This place was just on the cusp between three and four stars. The difference came down to price which I thought, for lunch, was a tad more than other Vietnamese places of similar quality and quantity. That being said, the food was tasty. I got the BBQ pork with rice, which came with salad. Unfortunately, mine did not come with an eggroll like one of my dining companions. Bummer. Service was adequate but a bit slow considering the few customers during the lunch rush. The menu is pretty extensive and they also have the requisite boba teas and smoothies. This is the best pho I've found in town. They have a large variety and all of it is fresh and delicious each time. The price is fair and will always keep me coming back. They have really good service. The pho isn't bad I've tried better but since I've moved to Texas this is the only place I kept going to for pho. The food is served quickly and it's come out hot. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu. My husband had the beef spring rolls and beef pho. He said the spring rolls were great. The beef pho was good. My pad thai was okay. The noodles were very dry and did not have much flavor. Whenever I go to a Thai restaurant, I order Pad Thai with tofu. Usually, it has bean sprouts in it. This dish did not. I missed them being there. Usually, the dishes have a touch of sweetness in them. This did not. It did have broccoli, carrots, cucumber and mushrooms on the side. I think the mushrooms were on the verge of spoiling as they tasted off and smelled. I just put them on a separate plate. The menu did not have prices on it. Our bill came to $32, no drinks. We may go back and try other dishes. There are not many choices in Asian restaurants around here. read more

My husband and I had a pre-Valentine's Day dinner last night and we decided to try someplace new, bringing us to Pho Vy. Really great discovery here. All the food was so good! We started with the spring roll sampler as an appetizer - more like spring *burritos*! Those rolls were so big and very yummy. Then to our delight, the main dishes were phenomenal! I had the Vermicelli Special (which had shrimp, beef, and pork - almost like eating Korean BBQ in the dish) and my husband ordered the Clay Pot (a mixture of meats and vegetables in a broth still sizzling as it's served)... Whatever the conversation was before we started eating went completely out the window. The food was so flavorful! *A word of caution with the Clay Pot dish: it is extremely hot. Even among the last bites my husband had to be careful with the broccoli florets. But it hurt so good. Definitely worth the heat. Prices were also decent, and they also have lunch specials. The wife and I stopped by for our first lunch in San Antonio. We've never tried pho before but we've seen great reviews on TV,so our first day visiting a new city we decided to be adventurous and try something new. After talking with our waiter we found out that most Pho starts with the exact same broth but the difference comes from your choice of noodles, meat and greens you add. The thin meats you add are basically cooked when they are added to the hot broth so your meet is basically boiled. The meat was not super tasty and the noodles are just basic rice noodles but between the great tasting beef broth and the fresh greens the overall meal was good. Pho Vy has many areas that need to be improved. I am writing this review not to bash the restaurant, but to simply give the perspective of my experience. It may differ for future customers, but my experience was one I wanted to share. I'll try to do it as simple and as black and white as possible. 1. The servers seemed very confused and not confident about their food. When I asked a question about 2 different appetizers they did not know how to answer. My husband and I ordered 2 different but similar Pho's and they gave my pho to my husband and I got his. This was simply because throughout the night we got 3 different servers. We also did not get our basil or sprouts for our pho until I asked, it just seemed like there was a lot of miss communication between all the servers. My husband described it as "it seems like the parents left, and the kids took over for the night." 2. The food was very sub par. We ordered quite an array of food. We ordered 2 pho's, 2 appetizers, and a rice dish. This is a normal order when we go to a pho place because we normally love all the food. My husband and I could barely get through the pho because the broth was very bland. It is said that you know you are in a good pho place when you walk into the restaurant and you are overtaken with the smell of pho. And I should've known, because when we walked into this restaurant it did not smell like pho at all, and it reflects in the broth. The broth I would describe as bland as chicken broth. And the broth in pho is everything. The next big thing in pho is the noodles, and this one was very disappointed. The noodles were very chewy, I didn't know how that could happen because I've never experienced chewy pho noodles like this place. 3. Overall the experience and the food was very upsetting. I spent almost $50 and I don't believe it was worth it. Most of the time the food makes up for bad service or vice versa, but in this case it wasn't great all around. Again, this was just my experience and I am expressing concern if you are deciding wether to go to this pho restaurant. First off, when you walk in there's a musky, humid, sewer water smell.. I ordered the pho ga and the broth was too sweet.. Pho broth is supposed to take hrs long to make and this one tasted instant. The pho was alright, fairly bland and they didn't seem to have any chili sauce, just siracha. The fried rice was dry and tasted like minute cup rice and even held the shape as if it was pushed out of a cup. The sweet & sour chicken was hard. My biggest complaint would be the service. Our waitress literally never check up on us and it took almost 15 minutes to order. No refills unless we clearly turned around and had to basically flag down a waitress to get something. It was a little ridiculous, it was a dead restaurant with only two other tables and nobody was getting service. The waitresses sat at the register with her headphones in and you could overhear multiple waitresses joking about miscarriage while not doing their job. They went in and out of the kitchen with open toed shoes and didn't seem to follow good sanitary practices. I would avoid this place at all costs. You could get better Pho and way better service almost anywhere else. read more

They changed my day around when I decided to stay in and order from Uber eats from another pho place. That place completely f'ed up my order.
