AMAZING PHO SOUP! We were looking for good vietnamese food to keep our bodies warm in the cold High Mile city. And we found it!!! We got a huge bowl of pho soup for just 7 bucks. And it was amazing! The neighborhood does not seem to be very friendly, and it is quite far from the downtown (15 mins by car) but it is worth! My girlfriend and I enjoyed the soups, in a authentic vietnamese place. My husband and I went there for lunch today. He had pho with steak and tendon. I had the vegetable and tofu bowl. Both were fresh and delicious and huge! We had shrimp and pork spring rolls with peanut sauce. I had a lemonade ( not the salted one) and an avocado smoothie with bobo- out of curiosity. The smoothie was wonderful- mildly sweet and a nice but not overwhelming flavor of avocado. Next time without the bobo. Under $30 before tip. Our waiter was friendly and offered good suggestions. I come to this pho restaurant all the time because it is always open so late! Beyond that, the broth itself is very rich and flavorful which is the way I like it! You can also choose cuts of filet mignon for the steak in your pho! It's pricey but tasty! The quality of all the food is usually great and the portions are very filling. Try their avocado or Thai tea boba! It's usually great although sometimes the boba is a bit old. The only downside to this place is that it can get so busy and it takes a long time to get seated and get your food. read more

Super good pho!! We had the combination rice plate and combination rice noodle bowl (same meats, different starch) and both were very flavorful. The dressing that comes with the noodle bowl was perfect and wasn't overly pungent with fish sauce. The only reason why it isn't 5 stars is because they don't sell beer or wine. read more

The vegetarian pho broth is insane. You don't need any other sauces in it because it's already so flavorful and spicy. Much better than any beef broth (not to put down their other dishes; the vegetable broth is just that good). Also, the tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce are also great. This place used to be good but now you get barely warm broth which won't cook the rare steak and attitude from the staff when you try and let them know your order is wrong. This is a cozy little place on the corner of Mississippi and Federal. Having just moved to Denver, I needed to find places that could replace my favorite Atlanta restaurants. Pho 96 has definitely delivered on this front. I would say that the only issue with this place is the small parking lot. However, considering I can walk here, that's barely on my mind. I decided to order a small bowl of the Special Seafood pho as well as the Vietnamese egg rolls and a sweet iced coffee. The service was a tad slower than I'm used to, but that's not saying much for a pho place. The fish balls were good and the broth was pretty flavorful. It was not the best pho I've ever had, but it was pretty good all-around. The egg rolls came with 6 to an order and were crispy and delicious, and came with vietnamese noodles and a delicious, sweet fish sauce. It was more food than I could handle, but the egg rolls and noodles made great leftovers. The coffee was strong and perfect for a hot day. The best part of this place was the friendly owner. She asked if I had been here before and how I heard about them. Really nice woman and the most friendly person I've ever encountered at a Vietnamese place. Highly recommend giving her your business. I have to say my experience was the opposite of the rave reviews. The meat was suspect and not at all fresh. The fish sauce smelled and tasted like trout. The chicken was undercooked and not grilled well. And they got my daughter's order wrong. We all got sick the next day. read more

We wanted to try a new spot and since I've been going to Pho 555 for years I decided to venture across the street and give Pho 96 a shot. Man!!! Am I glad we stopped by! I order the grilled chicken plate and she ordered a bowl of their rare steak Pho. The pho was fragrant, flavorful and overall delicious! The grilled chicken plate I got was delicious too!! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and along with the rice, pickled veggies plenty of Sriracha it made for an awesome Sunday dinner. I've been faithful to Pho 555 for years, but after this visit, it's definitely gonna be more difficult choosing where to go for some delicious Vietnamese eats! read more

Randomly bumped into this new pho joint one night after both Pho 95 & 555 closed, and to much of our surpise, Pho 96 offered awesome customer service, delicious soup, ample amount of meat & noodles, and very reasonably priced. Actually, I was overwhelmed by the amout of meat and noodles they put in my order. So much so that I had a hard time finishing it all but it was so yummy. The most important part of a bowl of pho is the broth. I'm vegetarian, and I know that presents a challenge, but the broth seemed more spicy than rich. I usually add some peppers and maybe some chili to my pho, but this broth was already spicy. I've recently been lucky enough to have really wonderful veggie pho, and this broth wasn't quite there. The veggies, however were perfectly crispy and gave the contrast I wanted to the broth and noodles. I'd come back for another vegetarian item, but I might skip the veggie pho. read more

This place is disgusting. I don't know why anyone would come here especially when there's so many other Vietnamese places on the same street. This place is not authentic and not good. The egg rolls are literally soaked in oil with barely any fIlling. The "rare" steak pho had no rare steak, it was cooked, had a weird coloring around the edge, and was chewy. The broth had no authentic taste, it was bland and tasted of msg. Both the egg roll filling and the steak were not fresh because there was that old meat after taste. The veggies for the pho and egg rolls were also not fresh. Also, the bathroom is disgusting and I question the sanitation of the restaurant. Overall I absolutely hated this place and I want my money back. This place will make you feel disgusting and nauseous. It gave me the worst stomachache and I know it was because of the oil drenched egg rolls and the sketchy meat. Broth in pho is everything. Not completely everything I guess, but mostly everything. Theirs is fan-freaking-beautiful! Love their broth! Love their portions! Love the amount of basil, lime, jalapenos, and the rest of the junk you get to simmer into that lovely broth. Love the amount of good beef. Love the spring rolls and the peanut sauce. Last time I rated a Pho restaurant.. it was invaded by Yelpers and created my lil hole in the wall into long lines.. no parking.. and bad service. Heck I even had a fellow yelper complain that there's too many "Caucasians". Ok back to what's important. The pho.. oh soo good. Good ol Aar... I mean Tuan (thanks for correcting me) is running this place so he'll have everything up to standard. Surprise! there's parking. It's own dedicated parking spots. The broth.. wicked good. It's a Pho Restaurant.. if they serve anything else it's because someone complained and gripped that they didn't have other things to eat. (shakes head and rolls eyes) If you want options.. go to the cheesecake factory. And for those that go.. "oh.. my beef wasn't pink when they brought it out" One thing I've learned is if you want things a certain way.. ask for it. I mean they will bring out everything as requested.. You want the fatty broth.. ask for it.. you want a rare egg for the pho.. boom voila.. you want a chicken leg?? again.. ask for it. I've had pho many times w/ a bunch of different people. Everyone wants it a different way. That's what makes it so great. But if you rate a pho restaurant.. do me a favor rate it on service, broth, portion, and noodles. Excellent beefy and clean broth. The noodles were a bit undercooked but the quality of broth and meat more than made up for it.

This was my first time in Denver. Our friends took us here before we left. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant looks a little run down, but it's a casual joint to hang out and eat with family and friends, so it's all good. I ordered a large bowl since it's only about $0.50 more, and it was totally worth it! I could barely finish it. The portion was large and satisfying, but I found the broth to be a little watery, but just add some hoisin sauce and siracha and you should be good. I'd like to give this place 3.5 stars because the value was great, but it's lacking a bit in taste. read more
