We're just back from our most recent dinner at Pho 96 - this time with friends. We love this place. Its run by a son of the owner of Pho 95, so the food is cooked and prepared in much the same style. If you like Pho 95, Pho 96 is at least as good - and doesn't require standing in line at the door (or next to the aquarium). The wait staff here is beyond gracious - warm and welcoming, and as personable to the child in our group as to the adults. And the decor is a bit nicer - and the restaurant in general cleaner, especially the walls! - than the other places we've tried. We're still stuck on our bun chay (me) and combination bun (him) favorites, but our palates grew a bit tonight thanks to a friend ordering the Vietnamese egg rolls and the combination meat rice plate. All were amazingly good. We're off to enjoy our food comas ... and can't wait to go back! read more

Had pho555 the other day, then I went to try this place. I told my self to get a small but I end up getting a medium. Tons of meat and tons of noodle, once again I could not finsh the bowl. Service was typical. Food was good. Also the price is right. read more

On a cooler night, pho sounded so perfect. Since we are still looking for "our" place, I was open to trying pho 96 out, after seeing a talk thread with several yelpers giving it praise. No wait, we were seated in a booth right away. Although they didn't have grilled pork spring rolls specifically on their menu (they coupled theirs with shrimp), it was an easy request to accommodate. My husband and I both decided to go with small bowls with well done brisket and flank. Although I found the broth delightfully clear and tasty, the meat was meh. Wish I could give this place 96 stars! Always sensational! I've eaten here literally once every week since I found it. The pho broth is amazing, rich and delicious, yet light and aromatic. My personal recommendation is for any of the pho with rare filet mignon, a couple dollars extra but worth it for the amazing tender, lean beef you'll get. Other favorites are grilled spring rolls with pork and shrimp, and their Vietnamese egg rolls are the best I've had! Try this place, you won't be disappointed. Coming from California "little Saigon", where they invented the "Pho Restaurants". This place is the real deal! Had #16 Combination pho on the menu. Dang the bowl was HUGE. The thing filled me up the whole day.. maybe 2 days. . Decor - 3 stars, nothing fancy. Nice place in general. I love Pho and have had some of the best Pho Denver has to offer and I'm sorry but this place missed the mark. The broth did not have much flavor. Very clean and nice decor. Go here instead of Pho 95 to avoid the wait and crowd. Service here is great and my water was always full. Food is delicious with lots of meat. I got meatballs. I love the owner, he is so nice and friendly (he was why I used to go to 95). I wanted to try the Boba Smoothie here but was too full by the time I finished my bowl. Very beefy broth, I prefer mine a little less so. I like it when you can taste some of the other components like star anise etc. Brisket was super duper, rare beef was good. The egg rolls are a meal unto itself and not to be missed. Take heed the large is sumo sized here, you could bath a new born in it. read more

Where do I begin: BEST PHO in DENVER. Having lived in Chicago for five years, I have eaten a variety of pho (Argyle street is pretty much Pho-Central) so I think I have an idea of good Pho. I tried a few places in Denver that were subpar and for the price paid I was left underwhelmed. I have not tried anything else on their menu so I cannot speak to other items they offer. But the Pho is the best I have had: The broth is very flavorful and not too salty, the noodles are nicely cooked, and there is a nice balance of veg. Plus you get a lot sprouts, peppers, basil, and lime to doctor it up to your liking. There is a variety of proteins to choose from such as chicken, pork, sea food, and beef. The rare Fillet is a must. My partner loves their fillet and tripe. They are rather generous with the amount of meat which some Pho places seem to skimp on. The price here is very reasonable. You can get a large (and it is massive) for about 8 bucks depending on what type of protein you select. I always started the meal with a spring roll which are also really nice. Skip the peanut sauce as it isn't that great. If the food and price isn't enough, the staff make this such a great experience. They are nice, warm, and gracious.They always greeted us like we were old friends. Well we did go here about every week so they got to know us pretty well. After a few months, they even knew exactly what we wanted. The service is also super quick. You can pretty much guarantee your Pho in ten minutes. Don't waste your time trying other Pho on Federal. Pho 96 is Pho-nominal and Pho-antastic!!!!! read more

Pho 96 is tied for the best pho in Denver so far with me (Pho 95 being the other). The owners are friends or relatives of the guys who own Pho 95 I think so their recipes are very similar. Great broth. Very well seasoned, which is what makes pho great. Always fresh sprouts, basil and coriander. Bathroom is usually spotless. Super friendly staff. Everybody is super helpful and are ust all around good people. read more

Agreeing with the Leah regarding Pho and Federal LOL, with Pho, it has always came down to the quality in broth, condiments, quantity, and customer service. And this place has it all. Inside scoop for you guys, the owner Tuan has worked for all of the popular pho shops that you find on Federal for 15 years, so you might recognize the familiar and genuinely friendly face. Being Vietnamese, and like with many other cultures of course, we all like to support our acquaintances and/or personal friend's businesses but that only goes so far if the product they serve doesn't meet your expectations or satisfactory. That is why, everytime I am in Denver, because I reside in Brighton, I look forward to making the trip to Pho 96 for the huge quantity and quality in Pho, and having a good conversation with the friendly staff. Once I was introduced to Pho 96 I was obsessed. I have been back almost every week. I have tried other places before but they do not compare. I love the #5 Vegetable Broth. AMAZING!!! I cannot understand what all the amazing reviews are about. The chicken in the pho was hard and tasteless . My husbands "beef" lemongrass stew came without warning with various parts of the cow that we had not seen before including a slice of the neck?.... It was also not flavorful... Ive been cruising pho places for some time now. Ive done Denver, Lakewood, and Aurora. This is by far my favorite out of all of them. They are fast, and the food is incredibly fresh. I can't really say anything outside of their pho dishes. Comparing to other pho places, is like comparing black and white. I highly recommend this place. So far its my favorite. Sad day! PHO 96 has lost much of what I've valued in great pho places. The last few times I've ordered from there, severe lack of attention to detail, quality control, and passion for what was once a wonderful dining experience has led to a single star rating. I am happy to report that Pho 96 owner, Tony, has moved to a much nicer location just down the street, PHO 95. If I need Pho ASAP, this is the best place to go. I always get the filet mignon Pho to go. The meat is amazing and the broth is flavorful! It takes approximately "10 minute" for them to have it ready. When getting it to go, they separate the broth, meat and veggies. Then they place it in a decent sized box. The small Pho is pretty big. I am not a Pho fan, but Brian is. As long as I can find something on the menu, then I am good. :) We went to have lunch with Brian's co-worker, Eagle, one day and he suggested Pho 96. Located in the heart of the ghetto, this is actually a really nice place. I usually get what is called a noodle bowl. It has rice noodles, lettuce, bean sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, and whatever meat you select with a side of fish oil to pour over it. This time I picked the combo. That included shrimp, chicken, pork and beef. I usually just get chicken, but this beef was amazing! I would get just beef next time. Soo good. Brian gets the Pho with beef as well and once he adds the sriracha and hoisen sauce, apparently it is amazing. Not sure what the difference really is with all of these Pho places, but their noodle bowl and beef sure were worth checking out! read more

Denver has a reputation for great Pho with a wild assortment of numbers on it. I only had the chance to try 96 on the recommendation of a friend and I'll stand by his choice. The standout here is the soup base for the Pho. It is a very clean and clear broth that packs a deep and complex meat flavor. The critical part for me is that this tastes... fresh... and not like a flavor enhanced shortcut broth. The attractiveness of this broth is in the ability to taste all the flavors behind the broth - the onions, the meat, etc. I daresay this is the freshest pho broth I have tasted in a while. Another tip - these bowls are fairly big, so be honest with yourself about how much food you are eating. If you have a group, try the mixed springroll platter. All the marinated meats are delicious here and it's a lot of fun to make your own spring rolls. Unfortunately, the platter is quite big, so having 4-5 people to share would be encouraged. read more

We pulled in here only cause my car started to overheat and I needed to let it cool down so we could get home. We walked in and were instantly greeted by a smiling face and seated. Now I admit we came in to let the car cool down so we were not looking to spend a lot of money. We decided to just order a cold drink and grilled shrimp spring rolls to share between the two of us. So we ordered the food and drink and then 4 times they approached us asking what else we wanted we said nothing just or rolls. So then 45 min later someone finally comes up and says is there anything else and we said yes our spring rolls and they apologized and brought them out instantly. Then again they asked can we get you anything else. Then we waited another 20 min before he brought our check to us. At which time we had to ask for the check. Food was good the rolls were done just right. This and the polite people only reason this place gets 3 stars. I hope it is a fluke but we will have to see if I ever come back. read more

We came here because of the high yelp rating and it was a good choice. I had the Pho duc bet....the combination Pho. it was good! lots of meat and noodles and broth. Four stars for the Pho broth... 5 stars for effort and 0 stars for execution. I will rarely rate a place this low, but common sense is just one thing I cannot overlook. I ordered a large Pho with rare beef and brisket. I got a container (large styrofoam ~32 oz) which is great! But... I got about a pound of beef (rare beef, brisket) to accompany it. As a carryout order, it is IMPOSSIBLE to eat in the manner it is provided. You would need to buy a very large bowl to eat this Pho if you get a carryout order. I really love pho. It is one of the most convenient foods you can eat. This is definitely one of my go to places for pho. And it hasn't really let me down. I mostly get the pho noodles, so I can't speak for the other types of food that this restaurant offers. But, the pho is very decent pho. I always get the combination pho because I love all of the different types of meat that go into the combo. One thing I really like about this place is that it is open super late on the days that you would usually go out (Friday/Saturday). I'm only reviewing based on their bubble teas. I would probably rate them higher if I tried what looked to be great phô. I'm a purist when it comes to bubble teas: iced black tea, sweetened and mixed with a creamer/milk of some sort and boba pearls that have the consistency of a soft gummy bear This tea is not like that. There are only frozen smoothie-style bubble teas. While my son didn't mind, a Milk Tea just isn't right in a frozen version. Their boba (usually my favorite part) were old and kept getting stuck in the straw. The flavor was good but tok too much effort to drink, being frozen. read more

I come to this pho restaurant all the time because it is always open so late! Beyond that, the broth itself is very rich and flavorful which is the way I like it! You can also choose cuts of filet mignon for the steak in your pho! It's pricey but tasty! The quality of all the food is usually great and the portions are very filling. Try their avocado or Thai tea boba! It's usually great although sometimes the boba is a bit old. This place is delicious! I know there are plenty of awesome places on Federal to get Pho and this place is no exception! Came here about a week ago for a late lunch with a friend. She ordered a small beef pho and tea boba and we shared the "make your own spring roll" appetizer. You get a ton of meat and veggies on a big plate, and then rice paper to customize your spring roll with an assortment of chicken, beef, shrimp, rice noodles, mint and lettuce. This appetizer easily fits a meal for two people. Its so GOOD! I also got the Avocado boba on the way out and it was creamily and delicious. Love this place, will be going back! read more
