I was very disappointed with my first visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere was terrible; there was no music, and the service was unhelpful. We ordered two dishes from the house specials, priced at approximately $18 and $25 respectively. It was my first time ordering from these menu items. After a while, the food arrived, which we thought was part of our order. After eating half of it, 3-4 staff members, including someone from the kitchen, came out and looked at our table, asking if someone had served the wrong food. How would we know? We didn't know and just ate what we thought was a set meal. It turned out to be the food from the table next to us. The bill came to $59. I became suspicious and asked to see the receipt, but they didn't have one because they wrote it down by hand. We couldn't see the prices of our orders or what was included. What's most shocking is that we were charged for the dish that was mistakenly served to our table. Why was the price so much higher than the dishes we actually ordered? I will never go back, and I'll tell my friends not to either. After reading other reviews, I saw that many people have experienced similar issues, such as being charged for tips without permission. Wanted some hot noodle soup and this place had great reviews so my hubby and I decided to stop by this past Saturday morning. What had me sold was seeing all the photos of the crab udon noodle soup (banh canh cua?). Hubby got pho and we shared the banh xeo (vietnamese crepe). The crab udon noodle soup was piping hot with such great flavor. It came with 3 pieces of snow crab meat, fish cake, and a pair of chinese donuts on the side to dip into the broth. Omg.. I would come here again for this. $19 for a bowl, 1 size only. Super filling. As for the banh xeo, I would've preferred it to be thinner so that the batter would fry crispier, but it was still great with generous portions of pork and shrimp. I eat here often. The service isn't top tier, but they aren't outright rude either. Just quick and very little conversation, which I'm pretty sure is mostly a language issue. It's hard to really assess this place to me but I just decided to give it 5 stars. Here's the reason why it's challenging: their noodle soup dishes are amazing but for sure not authentic as they tend to put spare ribs in almost all of them, something that isn't done in my country. My favorite dish here is Banh Canh Cua (Crab tapioca noodle soup). Their crab is really fresh here and the soup has the right amount of thickness. Their Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu are good too. I've never tried any rice dish so no comments Also, it can be trivial but they will give you a glass of lychee juice (with real lychee inside) for free every time. It was getting pretty late, and no one felt like cooking, and we are new the area so we decided to hit this place up! Even though it pretty late, they still had our food out very quickly! I got the pho with some well-done steak, and I actually waited a few hours before eating it and just warmed it up at home, but it was still so delicious! I loved the arrangement of basil and sprouts because they were still super fresh, and of course elevated the pho. I mean, everything was pretty fresh. That broth though was probably the star of the whole dish! Most pho places have a slight sweetness to their broth which I'm not a big fan of, but here the broth was very tasty and savory! I would say that it was a pretty luscious broth! Plus with the addition of the silky and soft rice noodles, and savory and super tender and thinly cut steak! It was all too good, and every ingredient worked in harmony. This place was very solid, and pretty authentic. Maybe I'll warm up to the area more if all the restaurants are as solid as this place. I agree with some previous reviewers that while the food is good, double checking the price of your takeout is something you want to do here. I was charged a lot more than the listed menu price on my salad and pho which is shady and short sided to do to your customers. I give the food 4 stars. My shrimp and pork salad was very flavorful. Take out pho was for the most part, solid. Parking is very tight. Directly in front of the establishment with limited spots. Inside, the restaurant is very small, stuffy and cramped. Small, family owned, hole in the wall restaurant. I've never had an issue with cleanliness or food quality. Everything from the specials on the wall to the regular menu is fantastic. The flavors are always spot on, never too salty or under seasoned. If pho is your goal, you will not be disappointed. If you are feeling more adventurous try the bun bo hue or the crab noodle soup. If you want something other than soup try the banh xeo and wrap it with lots of the fresh veggies. Don't skimp on the spring rolls or egg rolls, they are a perfect appetizer if you're sharing or great even as a snack. The lychee water is always refreshing, but doesn't come with free refills. BEWARE OF PRICE SCAM! I didn't realize this place is a price scam as the reviews say and it also happened to me. I knew the price was off and I repeated to him twice what I ordered and he still overcharged me. When I got home I recalculated everything from the menu and saw the overcharge. I had already been there an hour and a half and wanted to get the heck out and go on with my day so I gave up in trying to explain to him what I ordered and the price was off. The owner doesn't give you an itemized bill so you are stuck with what he tells you. It took an hour to get a small pho, teriyaki chicken and spring rolls. He doesn't wipe your table after clearing it but there's wipes on the table. BE AWARE OF PRICE SCAM!!! (just like a lot of other customers have written about) So I moved from GA n looked for a good pho place, and this place had good reviews but many said they overcharge... And sure enough... they overcharged. He gave me a slip of paper with a price and I didn't agree with him so asked him to write the price of each item we had ordered but he would not so then I wrote the prices myself from what was on the menu on the walls and asked if this is correct and he said yes. Then I said with the total price with tax it should have been about $11 less than what he wrote, so then we had to void the first incorrect CC transaction and redo it with the correct price... We thought this could be our new pho place but if we have to do the proper math for our food everytime, this is a scam, so this will be the first and last time coming here... and FYI, the food is decent at best, it's just that the other pho places in WA had been horrible so yeah, food is just OK. read more

Came here with a group of 5 and were quickly seated around 11:30am on a Saturday. The service was not bad and we received our food pretty quick. I did notice that we were the only table given iced water instead of the lychee water that everyone raves about which was pretty disappointing. On to the food. I ordered the crab banh canh off the house specials menu and while it was not bad, it wasn't the best I've ever had either. The broth was thick which is normal and pretty flavorful but a little bit sweeter than I would have liked. Had to add some lime and chili paste to get it to my flavor liking. The portion size was about average (also came with 2 chinese donuts), but the price was a little too steep for my liking (~$14 a bowl) which I think is a little excessive. Also ordered a vietnamese iced coffee which was average, a little bit more on the bitter side. My friend asked for a to-go container and they gave her a dirty one (??), she told them and they gave her a new one. Probably would venture to other spots before coming back here, if I ever do. I didn't get sick, the portions and price were proportionate, but I think I was just disappointed that I went out of my way to eat there and a lot of the special dishes were no longer on the menu. My colleague and I were originally going to pho Than but they ended up being closed for the holidays so we searched for another near by spot. Saw that the reviews for this place wasn't bad so we came here. I opened the menu and my jaw probably dropped to the floor. If I remember correctly, it was like 9 bucks for small and 10 something for the large pho. I mean.....on aurora I can find a small size bowl of pho for like 6.50. I have been searching for the best banh canh in Seattle for so long and I have finally found it. The soup is meant to be thick and this one for sure is that. The noodles had the right texture and they actually give you real crab pieces. This banh canh reminds me of the one I had in Vietnam. This is hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in all of Seattle. It is truly authentic, and the best dishes here are the ones that aren't just "Pho"! Pros (The Food) - Egg Roll & Pork Skewer Vermicelli: Unlike many other Vietnamese restaurants, the meat in this bowl is SO succulent and SO juicy. It stands out so much! The Egg Roll is also fried fresh and very hot and crispy when served. Not to mention, there is a really good ratio of veggies to noodles for a healthily balanced meal. - Crab Noodle Soup: One of the only places I've seen in Seattle that serves this dish! It's super flavorful and very comforting and it's what keeps us coming back time after time again! We love the thicker clear chewy noodles that are used only in this particular noodle soup. After hearing much hype about this place, I was pretty excited to check it out. Came here with my mom and overall, it was an ok experience. This place isn't too bad since it's your average pho restaurant but man.......lychee water here = 100%+ delicious. Even if service is lacking, it shouldn't take an hour to get food for a semi-empty restaurant during non-peak hours -Menu: Nice variety of Viet food + Teriyaki options -Prices: Watch out for hidden fees (that is posted near the cashier which can be hard to see) when it comes to ordering something with seafood like crab. Otherwise, place does seem a wee bit pricier -Drinks: Lychee water is all you need. It's refreshing, free, and yummy. -Must try: Eggrolls here = delicioussssssss! Combined with the savory fish sauce and boom Done deal :) -So so food: Ordered the garlic fish & rice, spicy pho w/ seafood, and 2 to-go orders of regular pho to go. Overall, food was meh. The spicy pho had a tonnnnn of seafood items but lacked any real spicy texture or taste. As for the garlic fish, I really like the flavors but you could hardly taste any fish. Finally, the pho to go was quite disappointing. Where do I start? Love love love their spicy chicken teriyaki! Also they have really delish lychee water. You get one free lychee water per person. Probably high in calories & sugar, but worth it if you indulge just once in a while. Good portion size, especially if you get the spring rolls (they are quite large). It's 10% off if you pay in cash & there is a small fee ($.075 I think) if you pay with a credit card. Oh and you pay up at the cash register, not at your table. They do have a small parking lot which is great, and it's right off Aurora near the transit center and Costco. Small cozy restaurant with great food! We went for a three day Pho crawl around the Seattle and surrounding areas. This is THE best so far (we have taken in four places..). The broth is just superb... deeply savory, clear broth and perfectly seasoned with spices and bone broth. Loads of meat and the noodles is just perfectly chewy and held well after 20 minutes. The lady who served us was so kind and friendly. We also ordered their beef rib special and OMG... Load of wonderfully cooked and they even cut the meat of the bones for you (but left a few for presentation). We LOVE it! read more
