Appetizers came out with the entrees which was a little disappointing but not too big of a deal since they were delicious. We ordered the cream cheese rangoons and fried spring rolls. They were served with a delicious sweet and sour sauce and an umami rich fish sauce respectively. My friend ordered the garlic noodles with filet mignon and practically spooned his plate clean. I got the rare beef pho and the broth was rich and flavorful. Pho A'mie is down the street from my apartment, so I've been coming here regularly for the past three years. As we all know, pho is the perfect thing to eat when you are either sick or hungover, and I have a lot of experience with both, so I find myself here A LOT. Although I've come here many times, I will say that the reason that I keep visiting is solely because of convenience, because honestly, the pho is not that good. I've never truly had a problem with this place and their subpar pho because to me, pho is pho, and no mattter what, it almost always hits the spot. However, they have a new hostess and I've had quite a few problems with her. For one, I've been a vegan for as long as I've come here, so I've always ordered the vegetable pho with no problem. On my second to last visit, when I was halfway through my bowl, I noticed there was a BEEF CHUNK in my broth. I was SHOCKED. I panicked and alerted the hostess, and rather than being apologetic, she bluntly said that I must tell the kitchen beforehand when I want vegetable broth, because otherwise, they'll use beef broth. Now as I mentioned above, I've been here quite a few times, and I've probably had upwards of 100 bowls of vegetable pho from here, and it has ALWAYS been made with vegetable broth. The first time that I ate here, the previous host told me that whenever vegetable pho is ordered, vegetable broth is used, and I've never had a problem until this day. Now I get that it may not be her fault, because she's not the chef, but why not apologize for the wrongdoing instead of lying? Fast forward to the last time I came here, she must've been having an off day because she was simply rude for no reason, and my roommate commented on her attitude before I even said anything. Then when it came time to order, I requested that my vegetable pho be made with vegetable broth and she looked at me almost as if she wanted to say "duh". I wish I could've taken a picture of her face. I was baffled to say the least, because she was the one who told me that "the kitchen should be alerted when you want vegetable pho". Lol, she's truly something else. Overall, you can get better pho elsewhere, and you'll probably be treated better elsewhere as well. 2.5-3 stars Brisket Pho $11.99 Thin sliced cooked brisket House Combo Pho $12.99 Steak, brisket, tripe, tendon, beef ball My friend and I decided to have lunch somewhere in the middle and she suggested Pho A'mie. I've only ever been to this plaza before for Leadbelly's Barbecue. It was pretty empty for a Sunday late morning to early afternoon, a few patrons here and there. The menu prices are a bit higher than I'm used to, especially having eaten pho often in Garden Grove to Rowland Heights and so forth. Maybe Pho A'mie pushes for a "cleaner" flavor and an added twist to pho. There were big chunks of tendon in my pho, which is not the way that I'm used to. No complaints about that, but I did have a piece of hair in one of the tendons. When I mentioned it to the server, she brought it back to the kitchen and the chef mentioned that it was an "animal" hair and not a human hair. I don't know how they would be able differentiate it. They claim that the animal's hair can get stuck in the tendon and that since all their ingredients are cooked, it wouldn't be a problem. Very interesting explanation... As usual, the rice noodles were clumped all at the bottom of the bowl. Nothing special about the rice noodles. Even when I tried separate the noodles, they stayed clumped together. Had the hardest time eating my pho and that was quite odd as I love pho and never ever had this issue. I think it's due to the broth not being very hot so the noodles didn't want to separate. Usually, broth is steaming out of the bowls but this was not. The broth was also on the lighter side. There was little pieces of tripe and very chewy steak and brisket. I usually love to order egg rolls as an appetizer but the price was just too high, I could not justify that cost when I could get it cheaper somewhere else. The women's restroom smelled badly, wet and poor air circulation. There was even a "dead" cockroach in the light panel up on the ceiling. Overall, food and service is okay. I just cannot pinpoint what was different about the taste of the pho here. Truthfully my friend's had stomach issues after eating lunch so that was not a good sign. Overall, price does not justify the food and if you want authentic pho, head elsewhere. They do offer 10% off for those with student IDs. read more

Me and my boyfriend went to try this pho'' place out for dinner yesterday. I ordered the chicken pho' with breast meat and he ordered the pho A'mie spring rolls. Overall the pho' broth was pretty decent but I felt like they could of added more soup to my pho' after a couple bites the noodles soaked up almost all the broth. On the other hand the chicken meat was not dry, it was juicy. And for the spring rolls they were really good. Love the peanut sauce they gave you for a dip. ***Disclaimer I'm from the SGV area, and though I'm not super well versed in pho, I know my share of decent pho places*** I just came back from lunch at Pho A'mie and I am quite disappointed at my overall experience. We came in and luckily the restaurant wasn't packed so were seated as soon as we walked in. The staff had provided us with the menus and asked to confirm that we hadn't ordered yet. The menu is pretty simple with not too many choices. I had seen a picture on yelp with a lunch special and had asked about that, but they no longer had that special available. The prices at this pho places range from $9-11+ and for me that's considered to be a little more on the pricier side for pho. I ended up ordering a small sized pho ga (chicken pho $9), small shrimp pho ($9) for my coworker, and 4 spring rolls ($8) to share. There is an option for extra noodles when you check-in on yelp but they only allowed us to apply that check-in for one order so I was a little disappointed at that. The spring rolls were instantly brought out so that was a plus. The spring rolls tasted not bad but nothing special just your class spring rolls with vermicelli, lettuce, and shrimp, etc. with peanut sauce. The two bowls of pho took quite some time to arrive. It came to a point where I had to specifically ask for them to check up on them. After waiting some more, the two bowls of pho finally came. The broth for both soups were more on the light side and the chicken (I had ordered thigh meat) was unfortunately dry. Both my coworker and I ended up adding a lot of hoi sin and sirracha to kind of make up for the soup. Towards the end of the meal, the staff had automatically brought the check over and there was a sign to pay up on the front. Because my coworker did not finish her bowl and we still had two spring rolls left, we had asked for take-out containers, which the staff brought to our tables. As we were packing up, I went up to the cash register to pay (please note there is a $10 minimum to charge for card) and asked for a receipt. We left and now when I looked at my receipt I realized that the numbers did not match the previous receipt. I looked carefully and realized that there was an ADDITIONAL and unknown charge for a take out item, see receipt "Take Out Item x2" for $0.70. Now, I know that $0.70 is not a significant charge or anything but I do not appreciate the lack of transparency and the fact that the staff did not at least mention that it would be an additional charge for these containers! I came here today for lunch, I was seated right away and given a menu. It took about 10-15 minutes for someone to come back and take my order (way too long). I kept looking over at the workers and most of the time they were just standing and talking. No acknowledgment. After finally taking my order the food took about another 10-15 minutes to be brought out. After I finished eating, I kept looking for a worker to ask for the check (as I was on a time crunch). The man was no where to be found, the girl was just standing looking down (probably on her phone), so I had to get up and ask for the check. I'd give the service a 2/5 and the food 4/5.
