Our local pho place. Irvine has many to choose from but this place doesn't disappoint. Been coming here for years. They changed their menu about 7 months ago. Added more dishes to keep up with changing times. Their garlic noodle was pretty good. Will keep coming back.

Got the pho with steak and brisket and it was yummy! Got the stamp of approval from my boyfriend who claims to be a pho connoisseur. but I do agree it was good. Wish the herbs were a bit more fresh but o well. Also got the cucumber mint drink which was dang refreshing and delicious. I don't normally enjoy those but I really enjoyed this one. Service was pretty fast and the inside is clean and spacious.

I love the food here, it just is kind of loud at the restaurant for whatever reason. Might be nice if there's some calm relaxing music playing in the background. The food is good! Love the beef broth, it's not oily like some places, service is great, very kind and considerate. I would recommend eating outside instead of inside the restaurant, but on a hot summer day like today, had to eat inside! Or just get it to-go if you are looking to have some peace and quiet. I definitely recommend this place for some good chicken pho!

When you can't get your ass all the way to garden grove or Westminster this is a solid spot to get your pho and Vietnamese cuisine fix. I hadn't dined in here for quite some years but thought it was really good. The staff here is really friendly, quick and and attentive. I'm also a fan for their two hot sauces / chili paste things. Overall a great restaurant serving your classic Vietnamese soups, egg noodle and rice dishes. Chúc mừng!

Their pho is 3/5 since the broth was not seasoned well and a bit bland. I ordered their side of pickled onions and it wasn't pickled enough more like raw onions, however, they do give a hefty size. BUT their Vietnamese coffee at this spot is 5/5!!!! Great pricing for $6 for its size which came in a huge large cup! The coffee was strong and sweetened perfectly with condense milk which had the right amount of crushed ice. I would come back here for their Vietnamese coffee to go.

Pho Ba Co is a Vietnamese restaurant located in Stonecreek Plaza. There's plenty of parking spaces in the plaza. They serve noodles, rice, and side dishes. I opted for the pho and was very satisfied. Quality was top notch. The broth was tasty. It came with a huge portion of noodles and the perfect amount meat (brisket and rare steak). They also have the plate of basil, bean sprout, lemon/lime and jalapeño on the side. Everything together tasted amazing - I was very full. Next time, I'd like to try the take out deals. It seems like those are cheaper than dine-in and is a perfect fit for a party of two. Service was friendly, efficient, and quick. The ambiance is simple with many tables and chairs - nothing particularly unique. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant serving up delicious pho that's sure to satisfy anyone's soup noodle craving.

We were in the mood for Vietnamese food, and Pho Ba Co had some pretty good Yelp reviews, so I decided to check it out. Got there around 5pm, and it was nice and quiet since they weren't busy yet. We were hangry, so we jumped right into ordering: Grilled Value Platter Beef (4/5), Grilled Value Platter Pork Chop (4/5), and Rib & Tai Pho (3.9/5) The pho came out crazy fast, like 5 minutes, but the grilled beef and pork chop platters took about 15 minutes to arrive. The pho broth was super satisfying and flavorful, though the rib meat was a bit tough and stuck to the bone--otherwise, I might've rated it higher. The beef and pork chop platters were solid, well-cooked, and tasty, definitely earning their 4/5. The staff was awesome, always checking in to see if we needed anything, which made the meal even better. The restaurant was clean, and the restroom was spotless too. They had boba drinks on the menu, but I was too full to try them. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd probably order another bowl of pho next time I swing by! My Personal Rating : 4.24 Food 4/5 Service 4.3/5 Price 4/5 Ambiance 4.3/5 Cleanliness 4.5/5

    Yummy Chicken Pho size large

Savory broth in the Large Chicken Pho, fresh greens to top it too, excellent service by Vo, Vo, Simone always here and nice music in the background for a relaxing, delicious meal. Also ordered the vegetable spring rolls with tofu, the very yummy egg rolls, chicken fried rice and Rare beefsteak pho to go as everything here is super tasty! Highly recommend Pho Ba Co for healthy, delicious Pho and many very tasty dishes at a reasonable price.

I think for the Irvine area, this is a pretty solid Vietnamese pho spot. It has a large menu with various combinations and value sets. It's not the best I've had, but I'd come here if I don't want to drive out somewhere further like garden grove. The broth was clean and not too oily. Vegetables were fresh. Spring roll came with lettuce wraps and was really good. I also got a decent amount of large shrimps in my small bowl of pho. There's plenty of seating and service was good!

Came here around 7pm and it wasn't overly busy so I was able to get a table right away. Pretty good pho just stopping by. Aesthetic & Ambience: 6/10 nothing overly noticeable or stands out. The ambiance is lowkey but does get busy. Service: 9/10 honestly the service was great. I sat ordered and got my food in under 10 minutes. Rare steak pho: 7.5/10 broth was good, and they gave a generous portion of veggies.

My friend and I visited this pho place for the first time since we were craving pho and needed to be in Irvine. This was the spot we decided on. I don't think I'm an expert on pho, but I thought this place was pretty good! I got the pho with meatballs and my friend got the pho with rare steak and brisket. The pho came with the plate of the usual veggies such as jalapenos, cilantro, bean sprouts, etc and lemons too. Sriracha and hoisin sauce and one more sauce was available on the table. My friend completely finished his! I feel like I probably could've, since I finished most of the noodles, but ended up taking the soup and veggies home so I could add some noodles and make a meal out of leftovers. Service was really quick and they were nice! They had a button at the table we were at we could press if we needed anything. They were quick to take our order and quickly served us water. Our pho came in I want to say in 5 mins or less. Ambiance is very casual. Reminds me of any pho restaurant. Lots of tables inside and even a few tables available outside! Overall I would definitely come again! I saw outside there was a good to go deal for 2 phos for $25 so my friend and I might try that next time!

Pretty standard pho location. There is a long parking lot in front of the restaurants, sometimes it does get busy but I've never not found a spot. Just might have to park a bit farther. We got the spring roll and egg roll combo for our appetizer which was a good amount of food. Pretty filling overall. The pho itself was also good, a reasonable price for the amount of food.

Found this spot and the the pho was delicious! Especially for a spot in Irvine, will definitely be my go to! The rib pho has SO MUCH meat! I would definitely order the larger sizes, even for smaller eaters! They do charge for sliced onions if you eat it with that! Servers are very friendly and parking is very doable!

I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

Well, this sucks...and only partially because this place ended up closing just when I finally…read morefinished writing my review. While I never thought Capital Noodle Bar was the best noodle joint that you could find in/around Irvine, this place was always so tasty and convenient! Even though they weren't our favorite place, the times we stopped by Capital Noodle Bar was usually on our way to/from the airport for a quick bite. Not only was the restaurant large (snagging a table was never an issue), but our food (typically) came out relatively quick. In addition, their menu was stocked with so many delicious options. It felt a little more Malaysian than Chinese to me, but, regardless, their collection of appetizers, dim sum items, congee, noodle soups, stir fried noodles, entrees, fried rice, and rice plates was so enticing, we couldn't help but come back to try more and more! -- HOT SAUCE TRAY I know it's kind of weird to mention this, but I love their dish of hot sauces. In particular, their jalapenos and chili oil go well with everything we've had here. -- CRISPY TOFU This may not have looked quite like what I had expected, but this was pretty good! The tofu was pillowy soft and piping hot while the outside of it was surprisingly crispy, given how it's not really battered. -- WONTON NOODLE SOUP - Pork & Shrimp Wonton, Egg Noodles We got this as part of their weekday special ($12 all-day, dine-in only), so I'm not sure if the portion size is any different. Either way, this was great. The wonton skins were a little thin, but each piece was plump and juicy, the noodles had a nice bite, and the broth was solid. -- CHAR KWAY TEOW - Shrimp, Chinese Sausage, Bean Sprouts, Egg, and Large Rice Noodles I've been on a bit of a kick ordering this whenever I see it and this was one of the better ones. The noodles were cooked really well (very bouncy), the dish had a slight kick yet it wasn't overly salty/seasoned, and the dish wasn't overloaded with beansprouts. -- SPICY GARLIC CALAMARI Ehh...this wasn't "bad", but it was definitely underwhelming. Although these were seasoned well and had a nice crispiness, the calamari itself was chewy and reminded me of the generic type you get at most other Chinese restaurants. -- TRIO OF BEEF NOODLE SOUP - Sliced Tenderloin, Beef Ball, Beef Stew (Beef Shank, Tripe, Tendon, Carrot), and Egg Noodles I was super hopeful for this one, but it turned out to be just okay. For me, the ingredients tasted fine, but the portion seemed a little light on the beef shank and the broth needed a bit more body to it (felt a little thin). -- CRISPY HAINAN CHICKEN - Deep Fried Dark Meat, Pickled Vegetables, Ginger Rice, Soy Sauce, Ginger, and Chili Sauce Not very traditional, but no less delicious. Boneless Hainan Chicken is appealing enough, but fried, too? While I wish there had been more of it, each piece was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The ginger rice was quite tasty as well! -- WAGYU BEEF POSTICKERS Pretty standard, though, not necessarily in a bad way. Although there wasn't much of a browned bottom/crust on these, I love how big and plump these were and how the filling had a nice, beefy flavor to it. -- HONG KONG STYLE CHOW FUN WITH CHICKEN, Seasonal Greens, Carrot, Mushroom, Egg, Gravy Sauce, and Large Rice Noodles This was just okay for me. The dish had a good ratio of vegetables and meats to noodles, but the gravy didn't do much for me - there was so much of it, it felt more distracting than additive. -- MANGO GREEN TEA Surprisingly, this wasn't nearly as sweet as I feared it would be. The mango flavor in this wasn't super intense and went well with the green tea. Along with how satisfying most of Capital's dishes have been, the other thing that I liked about this place was the staff. Every time we came here, the workers were always friendly and really attentive, even despite how they usually only had one server working. That being said, it has never been all that busy either, which might help explain why their closure. As genuinely bummed as I am to learn that this place has closed, it should be said that it's not like Capital Noodle Bar is gone forever. If you missed your chance to try them, or just want to eat here again, they have another location in Costa Mesa that's still open and just a short drive away. And, as it turns out, it's even closer to the airport, so our pseudo-ritual of stopping off can continue to live on. Thanks for the memories, Irvine Capital Noodle Bar!
