Located on the corner of Laguna/Franklin Blvd in ELK GROVE! I'm pretty skeptical with new Asian restaurants opening up in the Elk Grove area since Stockton Blvd is where the authentic Vietnamese cuisines are at! BUT, this place is legit. The bun thit nhung is bomb. The grilled pork and shrimp are very flavorful; the combination of the meat and vermicelli noodles embedded on top of fresh lettuce with their sweet fish sauce drizzled on top is amazing. The egg rolls are a hit for my kids and definitely something I'd recommend for an appetizer order. They have a pretty small menu, but you can definitely find your usual noodle soup bowls here (pho, bun bo hue, etc.) Great place for a quick bite if you're in the Elk Grove area! read more

Don't get me wrong, the food was good enough... Honest review as usual: We both order the pho that comes with a side bone. We also had their garlic wings. Service: 10/10. It was good. Cleanliness: although everything seem clean, one table was sticky sticky. We also try to move but the other tables were sticky too. Not sure why. Maybe it's the hand sanitizer wipe they're using. Food: although we had our fills and got full off of it...the ride home we talked about the broth/noodle/meat etc. Something was missing. It did not satisfy our pho craving that night. We went hungry. So our taste bud could had easily been satisfied. Maybe it's because they didn't have all the pho condiments. They only have 3-4 condiments. Or maybe the broth got boring after a few sip. I think the rating that this restaurant has is very fair! I would have to say that I agree and the food here is pretty good. It's definitely satisfying and we will probably return. However, there are a few things that I didn't like so much... Since moving to Sacramento, I have been looking for a good fresh spring roll that does not contain shrimp. I have found some decent ones but they are always lacking something. At this restaurant, I ordered the tofu and salmon rolls. Overall, the tofu roll tasted pretty good. They are big and filling. I just wish I could taste the mint that is supposed to be in them...I feel like mint would have given the rolls a much needed freshness. The peanut sauce it came with had a nice texture but it was bland...I've definitely had better peanut sauce. It just needed more of everything...including the peanut flavor. The salmon roll was interesting. This, I probably will not get again. The salmon is like a salmon cake or salmon patty. It has the salmon flavor but the texture is pretty odd and tough. It also had whole pieces of chives in them...seemingly stem and all. Parts of the chives were so hard and difficult to chew through. The highlight of this roll is that it came with a chili sauce, which tasted pretty good. I was surprised. It wasn't syrupy like other chili sauces, which I liked and had a strong garlic flavor, which I also liked. My husband ordered pho. He loves pho and usually doesn't have anything bad to say about any of it. He said this was "up there" for him. It didn't come with as many fillers, which most Vietnamese restaurants provide, but he really liked the meat (steak) that it came with stating it was soft and flavorful. We ordered delivery. 4.5 stars-- this place definitely lived up to the hype I've heard from one of my friends! It's located in the plaza of Walgreens, there's a lot of parking spots available. Came around 5:45 on a Sunday and it was packed! Had a party of 7 and got seated immediately though. All the soups come in a medium-large bowl. I was kind of skeptical about the price though since it is a little bit pricey than your average pho bowl.. I know why now! The quality of the meat is so good and tender. I also like how the server offered us an side bowl of broth to dip the rest of our meat in! Thanks for that! My boyfriend and I ordered P2 (Pho Dac Biet) and S1 (Bun Bo Hue). My little brother ordered a grilled pork banh mi with no jalapeños and no daikon. He enjoyed it, however on the other half of his sandwich there were a lot of jalapeños on it that he had to pick out. The portions of everything was just the right amount to be satisfied. We both enjoyed our meal! We also tried out the Lychee Lemonade which was hella good also. Definitely refreshing and not your typical lychee jelly drink, there's actual bits of lychee in it. Service was nice when taking our orders! First time eating at this place. We were on our way home from Lake Tahoe and was looking for some good soup after driving through the snow. We're me were greeted and sat right away. The servers were attentive and friendly. The dining area was nicely decorated and clean. We ordered p3 and p5. Broth was delicious. It is served with flat noodles. Meat ratio was good. I haven't been here, personally, but some friends brought like three dishes back to share with me. I didn't do the ordering so can't tell you the names is the dishes, but here's the run down. - Vermicelli noodles with BBQ pork - was bland and doesn't have the charbroiled flavor you would expect. I also don't care for the seasoning on the bbq pork. Like too much fermented soy or give spice. - pho - had deep shrimp flavor in the broth, but I didn't like the flavor much. - some sort of fat clear noodle with meat. Good texture. Interesting flavor. IMO the food is just so-so. My friend didn't like it at all. Bummer. I was looking forward to trying this place for a while. read more

we ordered the pho dac biet & hu tieu. both were delicious & the portion sizes are very generous. i have been craving pho & this bowl meets all of my criteria: tender meat, soft noodles, flavorful broth. the hu tieu is also amazing & we would come back frequently for it. the service here is great & we always feel welcomed. our server today was the kindest woman & i would revisit this place just for the comforting atmosphere. the place is very neat & bathroom is also clean. they also have several fans running so it wasn't too hot for a bowl of soup despite it being above 100°F outside. overall, this is a solid spot for viet food cravings & i would highly recommend! read more

This has become my go-to place for pho in Elk Grove. Their pho broth is clear but deep with savory beef flavor. They also give you a lot of meat. Tastes like the pho my dad would cook on the weekends, the kind of pho that makes you sweat on a hot day but you'll gulp it down anyway bc it's that good. If you order their special with a side of beef ribs, the ribs are actually tasty, tender, and actually edible unlike the hunk of hard and dry meat they give you at some places. It's worth the price upgrade. I also had their bun bo hue here, and finally after so many years I finally found a place that does the broth right outside of the Bay Area. Other places in Sac/Elk Grove are too sweet for me. Portion is also humongous! The only downside to this place is that they don't have free water...Only water bottles you have to purchase. That's ok. Gives me an excuse to order their delicious Thai ice tea so it's all good. Restaurant is small with no waiting space, so when it gets crowded it's swamped in there. I've only had good experiences with the service here. They've been nice and courteous and prompt. Overall, come here for pho and tear into their rib bone! You'll come away an addict. read more

I got the P1 dish, pho with beef bones. Don't get me wrong, the pho and broth was really good. However, I don't think it's worth $20 if you want to get the beef ribs. At first glance, it looks like it would be full beef ribs with meat. However, when we flipped the beef ribs around some of the meat has been cut off and only a little bit of meat. Literally 2 bites. I would recommend others to not even bother getting the beef ribs because you will be disappointed. It's not worth the $5-$7 because it's so tiny and not that much meat. Just get the P2. Or if you really want that full beef bone with the actual meat, drive 5 mins down the road to Pho Sit Lo. If I ever come back, I will get P2 instead. read more

Pho Bistro is Pho-nominal!!! I get Vietnamese food a lot and this place is delicious, fast, safe for Covid and I can't recommend more highly! My husband and I went there last week and I had the caramelized pork belly banh mi to which I added a fried egg. The bread on this sandwich was insane. Soft, fluffy and hugged all the ingredients and absorbed the sauces. I ordered a lychee lemonade and loved how it was such a unique and refreshing blend and helped tame my need to always get extra jalapeños and burn my mouth off. My husband got the shrimp and grilled pork rice plate and a Thai tea. Both were great, classic versions. All food was cooked fresh and packaged to go in 10 minutes. I ordered for pick up. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly smile and offered me a seat while I waited. I was then asked if I would like water since it was so hot outside. I declined since I could tell they were busy and didnt want to add to it. Less than 5 minutes later she comes out with my food and thanks me for being so patient and gives me water while saying "please here is water it is very hot!. Our favorite Pho and Bun Bo Hue spot! All noodle soups come out super hot and flavorful. You know it's good when you see customers from different backgrounds every time you come in. My only wish is that they would expand so there can be more seating, but judging by the number is staff they have, they probably know they can't handle more than what they currently have. Their Pho broth is always so flavorful that I never have to add extra seasoning. My husband love their bun Bo hue and the meatballs they put in their are ! I also appreciate the Costco bottled water over free tap. I'd much rather pay for a bottled water and be able to easily carry it out to the car with me to drink later. The ambiance is curious. You cannot get tap water, only paid-bottled water. Tea by the cup, not a pot. The grilled shrimp has no grill marks but looks boiled and has an odd orange sauce. The service was inconsistent: no beverage refills offered, salt shaker was empty, 3 paper napkins given for a table of four. Shrimp spring rolls were ordered and they came with plastic wrap on them. I typically come here for their rice plates (all are god send and delicious, albeit the pork can be a bit fatty sometimes). The pho here has been solid and a life saver, but the flank meat can sometimes be a bit too tough and chewy. If you decide to order the rib with the pho, you won't regret that though. IT IS DELICOUS. The broth itself is also delectable, but sometimes I find myself also adding some sriracha and hoisin into it. The Vietnamese coffee here is also well balanced. It's not too strong on just coffee flavor. I would advise against the sandwiches here however. I have found the bread to be too dry each time I order it. If you want you can pair it with a soup and dip it (3 dollars for a side bowl of just the soup), but I think it's best to skip it. Personally, this is my favorite Pho spot in Elk Grove. They are close to me, fast with service, and I always walk away satisfied. Please note that they will not provide you anything to drink but you can buy water for a dollar there. Man, I've waited way too long to try pho Bistro and I've been missing out. Every vietnamese restaurant specializes in something, and Bistro owns the elk Grove beef pho, without a doubt. 5/5 broth, 6/5 portion on the beef rib pho, super friendly service and great price. The spring roll is 4.5/5 as well. BBH was good too, but not as much as the beef pho. Excellent strong coffee and refreshing lychee lemonade too.
