This was my first visit as a customer to Pho Bistro. Sometimes I work as a Door Dasher and have had several pick ups from here. It's always packed and so I wanted to try the food. Tonight I ordered the the Spicy Beef Pho to go. They packed the broth separately from the noodles, meat and veggies. Once I got it home, I put it all together in a bowl. Man, I've waited way too long to try pho Bistro and I've been missing out. Every vietnamese restaurant specializes in something, and Bistro owns the elk Grove beef pho, without a doubt. 5/5 broth, 6/5 portion on the beef rib pho, super friendly service and great price. The spring roll is 4.5/5 as well. BBH was good too, but not as much as the beef pho. Excellent strong coffee and refreshing lychee lemonade too. If you're craving pho, don't go anywhere else. read more

Our normal go-to Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Le, was closed. We decided to give Pho Bistro a chance. We ordered pork vermicelli noodles with an eggroll. The portions were reasonable. Some of the pork pieces had a little bit more fat than preferred, but the flavor was still good. I'm happy we tried them out. read more

To be Honest, I like their pho and I think it's pretty decent. I do find it a bit irritating that they do not have traditional black chili oil but I was willing to live with their red chili paste they recommend... but the fact that they were sweeping the floors and moving our chairs while we were eating was very disrespectful. I understand if it's past closing time but we ordered our food 45 mins before closing time... I definitely will not be returning... those kids working there were so upset when a customer walked in 15 mins before closing they even gave a loud *sigh*... it was so unwelcoming, that's fine by me if ya don't want my money. Ordered from Pho Bistro for the first time . Unbelievably disappointed. Ordered veggie pho and two B3's, chicken and shrimp vermicelli. Came home, there were ZERO vegetables . There was no chicken in the vermicelli, pork instead . Also missing the extra broth . I called them to ask where our vegetables were , they first said that I didn't order it just the broth. Not true, receipt shows veggies were ordered . They then came back and said oh we don't have any vegetables. What?!! How do you have vegetable pho on your menu and don't have vegetables. Apparently they considered the moldy brown basil included as a vegetable, oh and zero cilantro oh and something moldy on some of the lettuce. Great food! Very delicious pho and rolls! I always get the Shrimp one and my bf always gets the rib-eye pho. The space is pretty small so every time they are busy, you would have to wait by the door since they do not have a waiting area. Bathroom is also unisex and there is only one. Service is great from the guy! Other than that, not so great from the ladies staff. The guy always greats the customers, check-up on them, and even tries to create a conversation. However, the other staff, not so much. They don't say hi, or smile. You'd just get the vibe that their customer service needs improvement. We've gone here multiple times and we will keep coming back since foods are delicious. I took my friends here since they were visiting from Vegas. The lady with like a silver hair charged my friend for 2 items even though she just ordered one item. She charged my friend my other friend's food and my friends requested her to fix it but instead of trying she basically told them to just send each other the money/the difference. Which I don't think was right because she didn't even bother trying. She also charged me more than what I ordered but I didn't say anything since there was another customer complaining to her and demanding a refund..... Hopefully next time we come here there's no other issues with the female staff. We haven't gotten any good service from them. Spicy Beef Noodle (Bun Bo Hue) was good! But the other two items we tried were not very good! Pho Bistro was soft-opened few weeks ago and grand opened now. The services are good. The waitresses and waiters were friendly and attentive! We ordered a Spicy Beef Noodle (Bun Bo Hue), tried to order a Vermicelli Noodles with Grilled Chicken and Egg Rolls, but ended up changing to Vermicelli Noodles with Grilled Chicken and Shrimp because they don't sell out of egg rolls! We have also ordered a Grilled Pork Sandwich. The Bun Bo Hue was good favors, but the Vermicelli Noodles with Grilled Chicken and Shrimp was lack of taste, the fishes sauces seem to water down! The Grilled Pork Sandwich was even worst. The grille pork was dried, two small pieces of cucumbers, a very few pieces of tasteless daikon and carrot together with a little bit of mayo. This is one of the worst sandwiches I have seen! Parking was easy. I can find a parking space in front of the restaurant and the parking lot is clean and safe! read more

Just ordered to-go from the shop and they gave me rotten vegetable (see pic attached). I could smell and saw that it was rotten. I came back but could not talk to the owner. Although I got a full refund, I am still very disappointed. This shows that they have no respect to their customers. Please ensure vegetables are not rotten before serving it to your customers. WOW! So happy I tried this place, but so sad I live all the way in North Sac! This place is amazing! Delicious food and outstanding customer service. When this new place popped up on yelp, I knew I had to drive all the way to Elk Grove and try it out. When my friend and I came in, we were greeted right away. This place has all the typical Vietnamese dishes. I ordered the pho with meatballs and steak and a side of fried egg rolls. Oh, and I also had to try what their lychee lemonade was all about. Pho broth was delicious, meat tasted fresh, veggies were also fresh but what I was really drooling about was their egg roll...OMG, this is THE BEST fried egg rolls I have ever had hands down! They use a different type of wrapper that is light and just melts in your mouth. Dip it in fish sauce and your taste buds will go crazy! Super happy I tried this place and I'll definitely drive here again! Customer service was also outstanding! Not sure if it was the owner, but one of the employees gave the lychee lemonade drinks to my friend and I on the house. Drink was delicious; not too sweet and very refreshing. We stayed in the area and the bf woke up wanting a bowl of pho. He decided on Pho Bistro because their photos but mostly because of what time they opened. Well, his pick was a winner! They normally open at 10:30am on Sundays however the bf opened the door and they welcomed and told him to have a seat. We knew from the pictures on Yelp that we both wanted the hu tieu dac biet ($10.95). You have three noodle choices and the option of soup or soup on the side. We both ordered ours with soup then I went with rice noodles and the bf had egg noodles. Both noodle choices were delicious. The egg noodles were nice and springy while the rice noodles were my fav, thin ho fun noodles. As for the dish as a whole, we were both blown away by how delicious and comforting their pork broth was. Serving size is pretty bit and it was very filling (we both took our leftovers to go). The noodles are topped with quail eggs, ground pork, dried shrimp and oddly, bbq pork (but it works!). The bf tried to order a banh mi to go but they were out - probably out of baguettes. Be sure to order one of their delicious lychee lemonades. Service was friendly. A lady behind the front counter was talking to the bf and made sure everything went well with our meal. The restaurant is clean and modern. They may have recently opened because there's a felt board at the register that says "soft opening". We would definitely come back if we lived closer. I came here today for their soft opening and I was definitely not impressed. I had a party of 4 and we got in around 6:15 pm. We sat down and put in our orders. I wanted to try out the Pho Dac Biet since its a staple for every pho restaurant. The rest of my party chose different items and we also ordered some egg rolls as an appetizer and two drinks (Vietnamese Iced Coffee/Lychee Lemonade). A few minutes after our initial order, our server came back and informed us that they ran out of the broth for all the beef noodle soup options. I understood because it was a soft opening and we did came in a little later in the day. I chose to get the Bun Bo Hue instead. After we placed our order, 3 other parties came in and sat down. I noticed that they received their drinks before us even though they came in after us. We only had waters at the time. I want to say it took around 20 minutes to receive our two drinks that we ordered and our appetizer still did not come out yet. However, another party had two of their appetizers come out. I also saw a party that came in after us receive their entrees and were already eating. I was starting to get irritated and at that point I probably should've gone up and said something, but I thought since it was a soft opening they were still trying to get every thing straightened out. Keep in mind, our server never came back to check up on us once. I think the customer next to us noticed our frustration and asked our server to check up on our order. He came back and told us to wait a little longer because of a "machine malfunction." I didn't want to wait any longer than I already did and just wanted the check for our two drinks so we could leave. We did not want to wait for the check so we decided to just leave the money on the table. The menu said that each drink was $3.50 so we left $8 on the table and proceeded to walk out. Our server ran out and stopped us from leaving saying that the two drinks could be actually $9. My brother went back inside to grab the $8 on the table and handed our server a $10 bill. As we were walking out, he again stopped us from leaving and now told us that the drinks could be more than $10 and that we needed to go back inside to the register, embarrassing us in front of the entire restaurant. My brother gave him another $3 (a total of $13 now for 2 drinks that cost $7) and told him to keep the change. Overall this place did not leave a very good impression on my family and I. I understand it's a soft opening and that mistakes happen, but to be treated that poorly was very upsetting. You would think that waiting 45+ minutes for food that the staff would offer something in return but having to pay $13 for 2 drinks listed at $3.50 is insane. Also, the owners of the establishment did not once apologize or make any attempt to resolve the issue. Instead, they were too worried about us being short a few dollars for drinks. Came back here 3x already and each time was fantastic! The egg rolls are heavenly and are so crunchy! I've tried the phở, hủ tiếu, bún thịt nướng and the bún bò Huế. All were good but my favorite must be the hủ tiếu! The pho and bun thit nuong is nothing out of the ordinary but will fixed your cravings for sure. The pho broth is flavorful and taste clean. I was feeling a bit under the weather and decided pho would be an awesome pick-me-up! Okay fine, you got me. I just needed a reason to finally check out Elk Grove's newest pho spot! I stopped by at 11am on a Saturday. I was welcomed by a very friendly lady and seated right away. I ordered the P2 - Pho Dac Biet (~$10) which includes sliced eye round beef, meatballs, flank, brisket, and tripe in a rich beef broth with rice fresh noodles. I'm not a huge fan of tripe, so I was able to substitute that with more meatballs at no extra cost. How nice! It's served with the typical garnishes: bean sprouts, coriander leaves, and lime. The broth was warm, rich, and delicious. It felt so good on a chilly day. The various meats were cooking in the broth and each had its own distinct textures and flavors - all making it a great bowl of pho! I loved the meatballs and sliced beef the most. There were plenty of noodles and the freshness of the garnishes balanced the dish well. It was a solid portion size for ~$10 and definitely kept me full for hours. New Pho spot in Elk Grove, taking over the old Hoa Viet. Today was their soft opening and came out to try their dishes. They were hustling and bustling today, lists of hungry people here for lunch. Wife and I tried their Pho Dac Biet and Hue dieu, their broth was pretty rich and they use a flat noodle which makes it different good. I saw they had lychee lemonade, I had to say, we were a bit surprised on how good it was that we ordered 2 because my wife kept drinking mine. They offer a variety of side dishes to eat with your pho, like rib eye and beef ribs which is uncommon so definitely a plus. The decor is untraditional, a blend of urban industrial look combine with a hint of traditional decor. Definitely will be coming back to try their other dishes. read more

I usually don't do reviews on restaurants during their soft opening phase only because I don't think it's a fair assessment of the true potential of the place. However, I will make an exception here. We saw on their instagram that they were going to do a soft opening so I took the wife and kids around 6ish (prime time). We came there expecting everything to be super hectic. That was not the case at all. We sat down after a short wait and got our food in a very timely manner. I ordered the Hu Tieu and my wife ordered the pho. They even brought out kids bowls and kids cup without us even asking. Man oh man... My taste buds felt like they took a direct punch from Mike Tyson in his prime. I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful it was. My wife and I switched bowls in between. The way I judge my pho is if the broth tastes good without adding hoisin and Sriracha, then the quality of the broth is top notch. I'm happy to report I didn't need to add any of that stuff into it. My family and I love Pho and are very selective with where we get it from. Pho Bistro has amazing Pho! The broth is so light, but also so flavorful at the same time. Their BBQ pork rice plate, spring rolls, and crab wontons (DROOL!) are also delicious! The staff are some of the kindest people. My father is older and has arthritis really bad in his hands and the staff always vigilantly wait for him to finish eating so that they can pour his leftover soup into a container for him - even if we try to do it ourselves. I've been here a few times during the weekdays when it's not so busy. Their pho is decent and I like that they have a kids menu section but you literally have to ask for water EVERY time. I started coughing due to consuming their pepper and still none of them came to offer water, my son had to go ask them. It gets pretty annoying after a few times and makes you not want to come back. Their menu is quite small compared to other establishments, but keeping it simple helps to make decisions a lot easier when you're trying to figure out what to eat. Hubby had their pho noodle soup with an actual whole rib on the side. That thing was huge! He could barely finish it and the broth was so rich, I could drink the broth by itself and call it a meal lol. I had their regular pho noodle soup without the rib, broth was still flavorful. We shared a side of egg rolls. Don't be fooled by the funny shape of them. They weren't pretty and neat to look at but definitely the best egg rolls I've had at a restaurant. Customer service was really good over all and the owner kept walking around and checking on patrons to make sure everything was okay. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Only positive thing about our experience would be that the food came out quickly. Not worth the $65 dinner we paid for. We always tip when dining out but had to hold off this time. Best service you will find at an asian restaurant in sac/EG area! They are very attentive, drinks came out fast, servers checked on us a few times and I believe the owner also stopped by to ask how everything was. The broths were pretty flavorful. Grand opening will be in a week or so, they are still on soft opening mode, and they do accept card. I was happy to see this place was open after so many time driving by and seeing the opening soon sign. I stopped in for lunch and had a pleasant experience. I liked the simple attractive interior, good service, and delicious food. I thought the spring rolls with noodles, crisp-tofu, green onions, with peanut sauce were just about perfect. Been meaning to write this for a few weeks but the time has come and I want to make sure I let everyone know where I will be eating my Pho from now forward. Lets break down the experience: Food: I ordered the Shrimp Pho which I pretty much haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I went about two weeks back. Broth was on point and the quality of the Shrimp has not been matched in my previous Shrimp Pho experiences. This is what I normally order when I am craving Pho and I truly never know what to expect (alot of shrimp or not that many, Big shrimp or little shrimp, tail on or tail off). Let me just say that these were large shrimp with the tail off. The best quality AND quantity that I've ever had. Can't wait to go again. Just a note, had the spring rolls with the grilled pork and shrimp, so good. I'm not a huge fan of spring rolls but these were one of a kind. Finally, Vietnamese Iced Coffee... gave me the boost I needed and tasted delish. Overall food quality and taste, 10/10! Definitely recommend. Ownership/Customer Service: I have to say that the customer service was really the icing on the cake/cherry on top. Very friendly staff and an awesome owner that actually stopped by tables to ask customers how their meal was. At one point, I even heard him go to a table and ask the customer if they wanted "the usual." I feel like its pretty unique for an owner to have that good of a relationship with its customers. We came tonight for the soft opening cuz I was so excited to have another Vietnamese restaurant open in Elk Grove but unfortunately we weren't impressed. We got chicken wings, bun bo hue and pho. The chicken wings were crunchy but maybe it was too crunchy that the white meat inside was a bit hard but this is an easy fix. My husband ordered pho since they were out of Hu Tien. When his bowl came out, I asked if he got a small since it looked like a kid size bowl. There was so little noodle that I could have prob counted it. My bun bo hue was okay. The broth was very savory but it was seasoned a bit differently than what I'm used to. I really like the pork meatball they included but the noodle was crunchy (undercooked) and the banana shank (beef) was a bit hard from not being boiled enough. From my experience, to have soft banana shank, it has to be boiled on the stove stop for at least 1 hr 40 mins from the many Times I have cooked it. Overall the service is good but I was so hoping that the food was better. Or at least the portion was a bit larger, especially the pho. read more
