A simple menu awaits all who venture to Bloomingdale Road. Vietnemese Noodle soup is the go to item....but are other delicious choices: *Khai Vi (Appetizers). Spring Rolls fried or fresh. *Com (Rice Dishes). Rice with pork/beef. *Bun (Rice Noodles). Think of pho without the broth. *Pho (Noodle Soup). 15 different versions. Small or large. A 50 cents difference between small and large. Love that! *Bahn Mi (Sandwiches). If you have never tried a vietnamese sandwich I highly recommend. Always light, filling and tasty. We had the pho everything version which was tasty (but I have had better). The condiments were plentiful for the dressing of our soup. I really liked the bottle of red pepper sauce. Was more tasty as opposed to heat. Ice Vietnmese coffee is here along with smoothies/bubble tea. We tried a soursop smoothie/tea. Delicious. Overall always good to have pho options. Me and the Family were at Xtreme Trampoline and were hungry after all the jumping. Pho Ha had great reviews so we stopped in. It was the best decision we made. We ordered the Spring Rolls to start. They were delicious with a peanut dipping sauce. I ordered a special off the menu which was a Crepe with chicken and a side of veggies. My hubby had the Tamarind Wings which were also very good. We saw everyone eating soup so we ordered the more popular one To Go. We enjoyed it very much the next day. I really wish they had a place like this in the southwest suburbs. I go to this place whenever I have a craving for Pho or Vietnamese food in general. There are 3 other Pho restaurants in the area but this one is the best of the bunch by a long shot. They have a great selection of dishes - the standard Pho soups, vermicelli dishes, rice dishes, egg noodles soups, and their sandwiches. What makes them good is the consistent quality in the taste and ingredients. I've been going to this place for over 5 years. During that time things have stayed very consistent. Now the key measuring stick for any Pho restaurant is the Pho soup. Their Pho ranks as above average. The broth is very flavorful. The meats and noodles are good. They have a lot of selection for vietnamese dishes which is hard to find in the 'burb. We had pho, bahn mi sandwich, and iced coffee. Iced coffee: strong, good flavor. they definitely use the real coffee drifting thing Pho: the soup was strong with lots of spices esp star anise. We didn't taste the beef flavor as much. I think it's really personal preference. If you love strong favor & spices, go for it Bahn mi: warm crusty baguette for $4. You can't beat that the entire meal costs us ~$16-17. I've never been to a Vietnamese restaurant before, but since I'm a fan of other Asian cuisines (Japanese, Thai, Chinese), I thought I'd give this "Yelpers' favorite" a try. I am also a little familiar with Vietnamese store-bought sauces/condiments, which we've had with shrimp rolled up in lettuce at home. I was a bit disappointed in my first-ever bowl of Pho. I ordered the #29 as recommended by June P. Her description of "rare" sliced beef (along with the picture I seen on Wikipedia when I looked up pho beforehand) made my mouth water and raised my expectations. I pictured something similar to that wiki photo... something akin to "shabu-shabu" floating on top. But all the beef was well buried in the broth, and all too-well done. The broth was very nice tasting though, as were the very fresh side items that I added. Even kicked it up a notch after experimenting with some of the sauces they have on the table. Hoping to try another sometime soon, but may try inquiring about getting "rare" beef next time. The spring rolls were "okay." The texture and flavor were both good, but the peanut sauce did nothing for me. While I do enjoy peanut sauce with Thai satay, I think that nuoc cham (chili, garlic, and fish sauce) would work better for me in this case. I'll have to ask if they have that the next time I go. But the main reason that "next time" will be way sooner than later for me is the bahn-mi. I've never had a sandwich that fantastic in all my life. It's been a long time since I've had a "died a gone to heaven" feeling, but that bread alone certainly did it for me! Another "great" item was their coffee. Problem is they give you such a small amount in a large Styrofoam cup crammed with ice. Next time, I'll ask for a double with ice on the side and mix it myself. Wonderfully strong, and probably worth the hassle to get it the way I'd like it. The place itself was quite comfortable and very clean (no food on the walls as other Yelpers have reported). Looking forward to my second visit (and hoping they can accommodate special requests). Prices are great, which helps justify a 30 minute drive from Woodridge (with gas at $4.199/gallon). read more

Pho Ha serves a mean bowl of Pho! Probably the best I've had in the suburbs, and as good as places on Argyle street. The place is small and is usually full - a good sign. Lots of people from all backgrounds come there, and there are enough Viets who come, so the place must be legit :) The service is typical for an Asian restaurant - just flag someone down and they'll come help you. Don't expect it to be your American restaurant service with your one server coming back every 5 minutes to ask you how you're doing :) The service is actually better than many Viet places I've been to, because most of the staff is younger and speaks good English. As for other dishes... Their Banh Canh is really good. The Bun Mam was not great. Neither was the bubble tea (I'm spoiled with Joy Yee hehe). Can't win em all! Since I live out in the suburbs now, I don't have the luxury of hopping on LSD and heading to Argyle for some good Vietnamese. Fortunately for me, Bloomingdale isn't too far and there's a little place there where I can get my #29 pho fix. It's no Nhu Lan or 888 but Pho Ha has solid bahn mi sandwiches and pho that's moderately priced. I am a fan. Small, unpretentious and very good. Dropped in for lunch and got a large bowl of Pho. Service was great and while I am no giant connoisseur of Pho; what I got was very tasty once I got the spice level to my liking. The people that work there were extremely attentive and very polite. I was so pleased to discover Pho Ha after trying out not so great places around Lombard/Downers Grove. My favorite Viet dish is Bun Bo Hue (spicy noodle soup) -- when I ordered it from Pho Ha, they served me a huge bowl of amazing flavor. My friends got different Pho bowls and they loved it. Their fried egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls are excellent as well. Love their Banh Mi. Have yet to be disappointed. read more

Another stop on my food tasting trip to Chicago, my buddy took me to this restaurant to see what I thought of Chicago pho. I was pretty impressed with the food considering its not in San Jose. The gripe with this place is that even though the restaurant is small, the service is spotty. There was about maybe at most 8-10 tables yet they brought the wrong food to our table. I was pretty surprised by this, I think they need to come to San Jose to see how pho service should be done. I suggest they should have a little more noodles and meat in their large bowl. I polished their "large" bowl off pretty quickly and I wasn't all that hungry. But their Vietnamese sandwiches are pretty darn good. I ordered a bbq pork sandwich. The bread was soft but with a slight toast on the outside. The pickled vegetables had the right about of flavor and spice. Lastly the meat was full of flavor and had just a little bit of fat to break up the texture of the sandwich. Next time I visit, I will order a couple of those bad boys to go. Even though the pho is not the best I ever had, considering where it is located and offerings its pretty easy to say this is a good stop for pho in the Chicago area. read more

I LOVE Pho Ha!!!! In the fall and winter months my boyfriend and I have Pho Ha about 2-3 per month. I have only had their chicken and beef pho soup's in addition to the spring rolls. All great. The beef pho is my favorite though because the broth is unbelievable. I can always taste the clove flavoring, mmmmmm! As others have mentioned the ambiance isn't why we go back- in fact, we get our pho to go. I think it tastes better that way too actually. The send us home with everything we would need- sprouts, lime, jalapeno, basil, green onions and whatever the other delcious green leafy vegatable they give you. We assemble the soup's when we get home and the broth is so piping hot that it cookes the thinly sliced beef in 1 -2 minutes. I have had pho at numerous Vietnamese establishments however Pho Ha is hands down the BEST. Look no further and take my advice- take it go and see if you like it. I promise you will. read more

First, I love this place. I have had Pho in about 8-10 states which include Hawaii, California, Nevada and yes even in a state like Minnesota. So you can say that I seek out great pho restaurants. This is probably the best Pho restaurant in the Western Suburbs. When my husband and I moved to the Western Suburbs a couple of years ago, we needed to find a place for our Pho fix...we couldn't always drive into Chicago for Pho. After trying a few other places, we have found that this place is the place to go. I would have to agree with the other Yelpers, you are not going to Pho Ha for the great service, the service is mediocre at best, but you are going for good Pho (although, they could add more meat to the soup) and really good Vietnamese sandwiches - the Chicken Sandwich is delish. read more

The bahn mi is a baguette filled with marinated pork, pickled veg, cilantro, and jalapeno. It's sooo good and only $3.50. Really?? $3.50 for a good size tasty sandwich, that's unheard of. The bhan mi is the best I've ever had. The bread has a great crunch to it and they don't drown the meat is sauce. Whuttt the pho...why I haven't been here sooner, I just don't know. I love a good warm bowl of pho especially during a chilly evening. This place is great. I'm so picky when it comes to the broth. Keep in mind, the broth sets the bar for Pho. If it's cloudy, your tummy will get rowdy. If it's clear, your tummy with cheer! In all seriousness though, the pho is amazing. The clear and balanced spices of the broth with the tender slices of beef and perfectly soft rice noodles...its drool worthy. The steam of the hot pho will clear your sinuses. Other dishes I have yet to try but I bet they're just as fantastic. It's a small space and it may not look glamorous like PF Chang's, but the food triumphs. I come here from the banh mi sandwiches. I have probably had 2 dozen of them or more. They are great but smell really bad hahaha. That is how you know its good banh mi. Hard to believe that daikon radish could smell that bad and taste that good. Most of the people I see there get the Pho. I have not had the Pho there yet but it has to be good because everyone else I see there is ordering that it and I am the odd ball out ordering the sandwiches. Anyway it's a small place in a old strip mall, but its a great place to try some Vietnamese food. It seems to be a family run place and the service is good.
