I'm Vietnamese, grew up eating Vietnamese food, can make pho, etc. Pho house is legit. I got the Pho Dac Biet (the special) with all the meats. Soup was very flavorable. Portions were generous. The owner and the workers were extremely nice. On top of that, extremely reasonable prices (11.99 for large pho at the time of this writing) - unheard of during this era of crazy inflation. There could have been another meat ball or two though. The server was very friendly, yet didn't check on us until the very end. She was very nice yet it would have been nice if she checked in after we got our food to ask about water refills or if we needed anything else like more napkins, which we did. This place deserves the many good reviews that it has! The restaurant is very clean when you enter it and they take out an entire tray of utensils and sauces (though they could probably include more things like chili oil) so that it doesn't feel dingy like other pho restaurants. We ordered the pho special (with only meatballs), the pork with rice, and egg rolls. The egg rolls were super crispy although they don't use the typical egg roll wraps and so the wrap is kind of thinner than usual and peeling. The pork is flavorful, tender, and crispy but not the best marinated meat we've had. The pho was piping hot and had such a great flavor to it. The prices are not bad, around $33 after tip. Service is terrible. We ordered take out and asked for hoisin sauce and she said it's a limit of 2 per customer which doesn't make sense if you're ordering multiple items. If you're going to be that cheap, at least offer to sell more or make it 2 per dish. Rude attitude and service is everything so we'll try our luck elsewhere. I was looking for a local pho place in the South Bay and stopped into Pho House. Pho House is a small unassuming restaurant with a couple of tables outside the restaurant and tables relatively spaced inside. Place is typically Asian with simple and ordinary storefront decor, but clean and covid-sensitive and compliant. I understand that this place went under new management pre-pandemic and service was friendly and attentive. I ordered their House Special Egg Rolls which were about average. You get 4 crispy thin egg rolls with shrimp and pork and a fish sauce for dipping and lettuce for wrapping if desired. It was freshly made as evident by the "hot" temperature when served. I also ordered their regular size Seafood Pho which was exceptional. I found the broth to be very flavorful and quite tasty. It was probably one of the better pho broths that I've had anywhere. They also serve a decent amount of seafood that includes shrimp and mussels and perfectly served noodles. On our way back to Northern California, we stopped by this place after a yelp search. Honestly the best tasting Pho I've eaten. The broth was clean but had a very deep flavor profile. Was very aromatic also. The pho came with a decent amount of meat. Noodles were perfectly el dente. What put it over the top was this special chili sauce they had. Was looking for chili oil but this is what they had available. This gave the broth much more added flavor than it already had and was legitimately spicy! There is plenty of parking in the plaze so you should not have any difficulty finding your spot. Showed up today to this little location in Lawndale plaza. Once entering the door i was greeted quickly very kindly asked where I wanted to sit, if i wanted any water and handed me a menu once I sat down. I personally don't have anything bad to say about my experience there today. Food: didn't regally order much. I ordered the Dac Biet I enjoyed it pho was very aromatic pretty clear broth compared to other locations where it's extremely dark. I thought the flavors where all there had the perfect amount of garnish (I'm sure you can ask for more). The beef was good not tough or chew which is a plus. This is the only pho restaurant in the Torrance vicinity where the pho tastes the same when you get it take out as it does when you eat it in the restaurant. Somehow they get the noodles so that it doesn't harden and stays soft when you take it home and dump it in the soup. They package it so it's easy to eat without having to use your own bowls too. The basil leaves and bean sprouts are fresh, which makes me happy. It's a pet peeve of mine when they give you veggies that don't look fresh. I've recently discovered that my toddler will eat her pho noodles with bean sprouts even though she's not a fan of meat, so it's nice when the veggies seem clean and fresh.
