I am disappointed to post this. I've enjoyed this place for awhile but cannot return after today's visit. The restaurant at my visit today was so dirty. The floor looked like it hadn't been swept in days. The waiter smelled like body odor and the other waiter's hair was super greasy as if he hadn't washed his hair in days. As he sat there rubbing his head and face, he was serving food when the kitchen rang the bell. The kitchen staff popped out throughout dinner and none of them wore hairnets! They all looked like they hadn't bathed in a while as well. I lost my appetite and again, I'm so disappointed because I thought their food was good. To start of we were rushed into ordering our food. We decided to go with the safest option on the the menu and went with the the pork egg rolls and the beef spring rolls. When they brought our food to the table, we were met with a woman that didn't want to speak to us at all. We told her thank you multiple times and we're trying to be cordial and she ignored us. We decided to order the beef stew which seemed like another safe option BUT NOOOOOO.....WE WERE WRONG we didn't know we were gonna be eating tripe as well. We waited about an hour and thirty minutes to be checked out an hour of eating time and thirty mins waiting. It seemed like they want us to completely finish the bowl. I try not to give bad reviews but they completely let me down. Waited patiently until they open. It's 10am. I opened the door, let them know I want to dine in, they don't understand English. That just upsets me. I can't upset with them only because they don't understand English but come on, you are in a country that the main language is English. We decided to try this Vietnamese restaurant since we've been to another Pho King in Hawaii before. We were greeted and attended to right away. My husband ordered the Pho Tai, I ordered the Shaken Beef with noodles and of course the egg rolls. You have a choice of 8 or 10 oz in beef. We also had the Avocado and Banana smoothie. The broth in the Pho Tai was good and flavorful, the beef was tender and tasty, the service was good too, they asked us how the food was and if we need anything else. WARNING!!!!! This place is absolutely horrible. If there's any other definition for the word terrible, it's be this place. The service is very bad if not THE worst. Especially from the owner or manager, Jenny is it ? Terrible service. I came in to eat and the stir fry was super salty I asked them to remake it and they brought me the same one salty. They wanted me to pay for something that I didn't eat and I left behind the waiter was super rude and started yelling at me in front of the rest of the people in the restaurant. Please stay away from this place. The food is bad and the service is just as terrible. They ended up calling the cops thinking that is a crime for me not to eat their salty stir fry and refusing to pay for that. Very very good! I've been excited for this place to open since the sign went up. Took guts to call it Pho King (despite popular americanization, Pho is pronounced 'Fuh' not 'Foe') and I love that. I have a nice little chuckle when I pass it. A few comments have noted that the pho broth doesn't have a lot of flavor -- bro, that means it's GOOD. Pho is supposed to be super customizable to your tastes - that's why they have hoisin sauce, chili paste, siracha, soy sauce, and even bring out bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and a lime. This pho broth here at Pho King in particular is very fresh, and because there's lots of green onion and cilantro in it it has a lovely sweet-salty onion-y taste. Very nice! We came in half an hour before closing, which I NEVER like to do because they deserve adequate time to close shop, and everyone was very very nice to us!! No less than three people checked on us. All smiling and helpful. I really liked the pad see ew and there's LOTS of it! Lunch for tomorrow! I'm definitely going to try the pad thai too. The brisket in the pho was really good too. I like that you can get different cuts of your meat in the pho here!! If you're looking for a lean cut, brisket is a good bet. And there's lots of it in this pho, big and long pieces. We've dined here before and the experience was satisfactory; however tonight the pho was inedible. We ordered to-go, trying to beat the Christmas lights traffic home, and if the roads weren't so congested, I would take our food back. First, the gentleman working the register had no idea what he was doing and kept us waiting while he wandered around. Secondly, they shorted our order (missing rolls). When we got home, the broth had separated in the container so it had a three inch layer of yellow oil. We reheated it and tried it anyway. It was disgusting--like eating mostly oil. Ordered take out and everything was packaged really well and came with everything for the Pho (bean sprouts, basil, lime, jalapeño, chili sauce, and hoisin.) the meat portions were generous and the broth is so good, clear and fragrant. I ordered spring rolls that were very fresh, the lettuce was crisp and the wraps weren't too dry. They were decently sized rolls as well. Very nicely designed inside and located in a clean area. My friend and I decide to get some dinner tonight. This place is one of our favorite place. The customer service was unsatisfactory. The cashier that was taking my friends order was rude and talk to her in a condescending tone of voice. As she was putting in her order, he continue to embarrass her, for pronouncing the names wrong. Then had to wait for a long time for her food, mind you she was the only one that was in there at the time. As the waitress was bringing an order out, my friend ask if that was her food. The waitress, ask the cashier if that was her food, and he says no. So she continues to wait. Then she went back in to ask about the order. He says, "what did you order again?" And then grab the food that was sitting on the counter earlier. She was so upset when we got home. I feel so horrible because I recommended this spot to her and so many others.
