~Kung Pao Prawns~ It's been a while since I ordered takeout. I've eaten here before, so it's about time I wrote a review! The prawns were succulent, bathed in a deliciously spicy sauce with crisp vegetables and peanuts. The chow mein had that signature smoky flavour, and the lightly sauced egg roll (which I obviously ate before the shot) was crunchy and full of veggies. Will order again. Well, I thought the food was good, but they have "bugs." How do I know this? The people at the table next to us flagged the waitress down in animated fashion, pointed to a "bug" on the wall which I saw with my own eyes, moved themselves and their food out the way in an expeditious manner, and then the waitress moved in for the aggressive kill. I've only seen this type of behavior reserved for two kinds of bugs...spiders and ROACHES. And I'm almost certain it wasn't a spider. But I'm not trying to make unconfirmed accusations, butttt...I won't be eating there any more. read more

Because of all of the hype of "Le Pho" which is just down the street, my wife and I had never given Pho Le a chance, despite it being much closer to our house. On a whim I swung by and ordered out during the shelter in place and OH NO I forgot my wallet! But the dude at the counter when I called was like "no problem. We have apple pay android pay samsung pay..." They have everything! The Pho was delicious and the egg rolls were tasty but a bit small for the price tag. I'll just go for the pho next time. I was a bit confused by the signage. Is this a Vietnamese place or a Chinese place? Seems like they speak mandarin inside, but maybe have experience or are raised in Vietnam. So underrated. Pho Le is now my fav for beef pho spot in the East Bay: their broth is legit! Their other dishes are also pretty solid if you want to do a full family dine in. I've been wanting to order from this place for a while. They are located very close to me but their hours are often inconvenient for me. I had the vermicelli noodle salad with shrimp. I was beyond disappointed. I almost didn't eat it. The cabbage was old, which has caused me food poisoning in the past. I did get 4 shrimps, but it was such a small portion with mostly old-looking cabbage. It was EXPENSIVE ( $28 + $3 tip). I'm really disappointed. I think their dumplings are their best offerings ( what I read from reviews). I'm sorry to write a bad review. I hate doing this. But, it was such a sad plate of food. read more

Only came here to order garlic noodles and thankfully they are open for to-go orders during shelter-in-place order!! Funny thing is, we only ordered garlic noodles because Fire Wings which is 10mins away from this place, ran out of garlic noodles and we were really craving it. Pho Le saved the day yay! haha Right off the bat, customer service was simple and easy. You place your order for pick up, pay, and then head out. The host was very nice. Although we only ordered garlic noodles, I took a menu to go because their food looked so good! Hopefully when this order/regulation is over, we can come back here to dine in. Excellent, flavorful food at this unpretentious Vietnamese eatery. We went at five and had the place to ourselves. Appreciated that they had veggie broth for the veggie pho. A number of menu items that I haven't seen on other Vietnamese food menus including some interesting looking mushroom dishes. Standard size bowls of soup are huge, no need to order the larger size. So first off, if you want chow jew ho fun the dish is Hu Tien. Second, I do enjoy the noodles (along with number 34, the combo beef pho) but to me here are places that I like more. I grabbed to go for my cohort and myself and the beef ph had decent broth but was a little sweeter than I am used to and also not as beefy as I like. The Hu Tien was good, with a light chicken-y broth, but I like Vien Huong in Oakland more. I like Vien Huong for the kidney in it and the one at Pho Le did not have as much ground pork or chicken meat as Vien Huong. This place is more Chinese than Vietnamese and is super close to my place, so I would come back and maybe try the Chinese dishes. read more

This is a Chinese-Vietnamese pho place. I believe the owner is Teochew because they have 粿條 on the menu. In the past three times that I've eaten here, everyone has spoken to me in Mandarin! The Chaozhou Rice noodle soup 潮州河粉 is a solid bowl of noodles. The ingredients taste fresh and the broth is pure and flavorful. You can tell it's from real chicken and pork bones, not a premade soup base. Their Beef Pho is also delicious! I think it's one of the better bowls of Pho in the neighborhood. I'd say it's as good as or better than Pho Ao Sen in Albany. There's a strong flavor of spices but a nice well-roundedness to the broth. Chicken pho is good, although I wish they used chicken meat with the bone instead of sliced chicken breast, which is a little dry. The broth tastes super chicken-y and clean. Service here is excellent. The young man working here is so friendly, as are the ladies. I think I found my new pho spot! read more

There's nothing better than to start your Sunday off after a Saturday night out than at a bomb af pho spot. I met with friends to try this new spot out since I was looking for something soup-y and comforting. Although my friends all chose pho, my gut drove me to order the seafood ho fun hu tieu hai san (#25). We also got the original pong-pong chicken wings and the fried shrimp/egg rolls to share. Pro tip: TRUST YOUR GUT. The noodle soup I ordered was PERFECT. I loved how flavorful the broth was and the abundance of noodles in the soup. They also do not skimp on the seafood included in the bowl and the portion size was quite large considering how low the prices are (each item we ordered was under $10 which was mind-blowing). The pho was also delish! (I was curious and stole a taste from a friend.) 10/10 would order this again. The appetizers we chose were also on point. The fried rolls were perfect to share, and were super crispy and fresh. I'm not the biggest fan of fried foods, but my friends gobbled these up quickly. Although they were tasty, they weren't my fave. I must have been distracted by the true star of the appetizers we got, which was the pong-pong chicken wings. O. M. G. Drizzled in a tangy sauce that somehow doesn't compromise the crispiness of the wing's exterior, each bite was heaven. If it weren't for how full I already was from the seafood ho fun, I would have probs ordered more to go. If you have trouble making decisions, an easy one I suggest is to go with these wings. I woke up with a FAT hangover and wanted some Pho. Found this new little gem nearby that just opened and thank God they're open on Sunday! I got the Pho Dac Biet and it gave me life. Some of the best viet noodle soups i've had in the Bay Area! I came here on a Sunday evening and it was pretty empty inside and we were seated quickly. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue which was listed as "House Style Speciy Beef Noodle Soup" and my boyfriend ordered the pho. The bun bo hue had a super flavorful broth with undertones of shrimp paste with a slight kick of spice, the meat was super soft and tender, and the noodles were super bouncy with a slight chew. I tried some of my boyfriend's pho broth and it was also very flavorful compared to other broths i've had with a strong beef flavor and balanced herbal-ey spice flavor. So we were curious about how a place that has both a Vietnamese and Chnese menu could get such good ratings. So we were headed back from a long day out and looking for some comfort food and we were reminded by our daughter about Pho Le. Here is the quick breakdown Interior was spacious, clean and ample seating. During the time we were there about 6 of the 10 tables were filled. (Bathrooms were clean and simple.) Food was amazing! Beef Pho - Rich bone broth w/ very little fat residue ample proportions of noodle brisket, tripe, tendón, etc. (And Pho fixings) Seafood Soup w/ Ho Fun - clear yet flavorful seafood broth with fish cakes, fish balls, squid and shrimp. Ho Fun are wide noodles that give great chewing satisfaction to compliment the lightness of the broth. Ping Pong Chicken Wings - Crispy Fried Chicken that is then stir fried in a sweet and sour sauce. The meat was tender and fell off the bone and the sauce with Crispy skin was very satiating. Pork and Chive Dumplings - handmade Dumpling skins are perfect Shandong style with flavorful and the skin had a great texture on par with fresh made Dumplings. I wish I had pictures to share but we'd eaten it all up before I could remember! We ordered the combo beef noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, and the original pong pong beef to go. Everything was piping hot and packaged nicely~ with the soup in a separate container. After a 15 minute drive home, the pong pong beef (isn't the name cute??) was still light, crispy, and extremely tender. It was so soft that I questioned if it was beef! It had a nice sweet and savory flavor. The soups were flavorful and the accompanying meats were generous and good quality. The rice noodles that came with the beef soup seemed a bit thinner than what I'm used to ~ and I think I prefer it this way! I wish I could give them an extra star for service. Impressive. Probably the best Viet Soup I ever had. This place was taken and remodeled in January this year. I went in after seeing the sign that announced dumplings. My gf and I both ordered and shared 2 different soups. It arrived in the usual huge Viet style bowl. I could see tons of meat and noodles and not just a skimpy smattering of meat. It was loaded. After the 1st spoonful we stopped and stared at each other. It was amazing. Di, our server said the chef had been making the base with bone broth for over 40 years. Nailed it. Went for lunch a couple days ago to try out this new place since i had a craving for pho. Street parking is metered so keep that in mind. Service was attentive and great. Place was very neat and clean which is good. I was immediately seated and handed a menu. I was told they were open for about a month. Prices were fair and the menu was organized well and was easy to understand. I ordered chicken pho and Vietnamese egg rolls and received it pretty quick. The broth in the pho was just ok to me, not bad but pretty average in my opinion. After tasting it I kicked it up with some sriracha to spice it up. The dipping sauces for the chicken was amazing. The egg rolls were pretty average to me also. They had a nice crisp outside but the insides were mushy like it was previously frozen. Overall a 3.5 but I'm rounding up to four stars because of the customer service. I would say check them out since they are a pretty new business. read more

This may be my favorite secret gem that I discovered during the last year. First of all the portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. Over the last 3 months, my girlfriend and I would always get the pork and leek dumplings, number 32 the special beef noodle soup and also number 38 the steak pho. The broth is absolutely delicious and the meat is pretty high quality. I've also tried the Pad Thai, Singapore fried rice, beef chowfun and more. Basically when you cant decide between Chinese, Vietnamese, or Thai Food and want to try a bunch of different cuisines, I highly recommend giving this place a try.
