Looks shady but damn the Pho is good. I got the meatless bone broth Pho and my husband got the Bun Bo Hue. I think this was the first time I didn't need to add anything to the Pho since the flavor was perfect. It was rich and fragrant. You could taste the lemongrass and the beef stock. So good. My husband's dish was fantastic as well. He really enjoyed all the meat (except the tendon) and the spicy broth reminded me of my Viet friend from elementary school who's mom made the exact same thing and it was always so good even if you end up sniffling for the rest of the day. The waitress was nice and prompt. The only issue is it is not a very comfortable atmosphere. Its a little too dark and there is some broken furniture in a heap in the corner. Came to this place because the spring rolls looked delicious and it did not disappoint! Got 2 orders of the shrimp and pork spring rolls, combo pho, and rare steak only pho. Beware this place is very slow. We got our spring rolls within 10 minutes of ordering but the pho didn't come for another 15 minutes... Pho shouldn't take this long. Other places we've been to the pho comes out before the spring rolls.. Food wise, the shrimp and pork spring rolls were fat, rolled very well, and peanut sauce was delicious. Service has always super friendly and the female server asks a lot of questions to confirm you get exactly what you want when you order. When we entered we were a bit confused due to it being out first time being there and we were never greeted or sat down by any of the employees they just starred at us. We sat our selves down and they took about 15 minutes to even give us a menu was a bit annoyed because I kept looking at the workers that were near me cleaning tables to give me at least a menu to look at. Once we were given a menu we still were not greeted or welcomed we asked what was recommended didn't even tell us that. The egg rolls we ordered looked disgusting and tasted funny, the broth had a weird flavor compared to other places I tried and was WAY to over priced compared to other places I've went to and they were much better then this place. Well, where to begin.. the server Cassie, was patient and sweet so that the ONLY plus! I was extremely CONFUSED by the "pork sausage " served on my plate??? I've NEVER in the 27+ years of eating Vietnamese food, been served that kind of "grilled pork" NOR would I EVER return for that! I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND this dish... the " grilled pork" was yuck, worst I've EVER HAD, the charbroiled pork was dry like jerky, the rice was DRY , 2 grilled Shrimp were cold... and it wasn't even jasmine rice... um - don't do it! When I asked what the heck that "pork roll" was, I could tell the lady owner got mad!!!! Seriously??? We went there because the reviews were good, but they gave us one VERY SAD, OLD spring of mint, and one VERY little piece of romaine for our Egg rolls. The Fish Sauce lacked flavor.. garlic, crushed Chile peppers, etc and I flooded it with Siracha because it needed Help!! I almost ordered a viet coffee, but glad I asked how it was served... so I saved a few bucks there!!! The shrimp roll only had 3 shrimp and the peanut sauce had no peanuts???? I was surprised to walk into Pho Leo. Based on stellar yelp reviews, I was expecting this place to be packed. However, it was eerily quiet on a Saturday for dinner. The heavy light rail construction in the area might have something to do with it. The food wasn't amazing, but it was still good. The pho had lots of meat in them and the beef stew had good flavor. The appetizer came out fresh and hot. The eggroll had nice crispy skin and the spring roll had just made soft wrappings. The portion sizes were huge. Everyone had leftovers. If I'm in the area again, I'd love to try more dishes. read more

A little sad that they don't have dumpling pho, but the shrimp pho worked out great, too. They have a vegetarian section and a kids menu, btw. The service was ok; there were some communication barriers between us and the servers, but it contributes to the restaurant's overall charm. It's a super chill place; you see a fish tank with big, orange fish as you come in, and there's a lot of Vietnamese decor (I assume it's Vietnamese; I don't actually know ). The pho is great, and the "regular" size is actually a good-sized serving, unlike the overly generous portions I've received at other pho places. Here's my one complaint--they only have wooden chopsticks, which brought out my aichmophobia (fear of splinters and other sharp things). (And yes, that's a word--you can look it up). I asked for plastic chopsticks, but they don't have them. Now I know to bring my own next time but that doesn't bring my review down. Great place! read more

Oh why did u wait so long to come into my life??!! :) seriously, I can't rave enough about how impressed I am with the savory rice dish and dessert that i tried at this restaurant!! I'm Viet and grew up eating Vietnamese food my entire life, so believe me when I say that this restaurant makes a helluva rice dish!!! Tried their Leo's special #1 (see wonderful mouthwatering pic below) and I almost fell out of my chair, amazed and electrified by the profoundly succulent flavor that only anchovies from nuoc mam (fish sauce) can deliver on a bed of perfectly cooked rice, grilled pork, shrimp, and egg rolls!!! No question as to how or why this dish got its name--Leo's special #1!!! The fried banana ice cream dessert (eventhough slightly melted) was the fairy tale ending to this truly satisfying Vietnamese meal ever!! Double pho leo app consists of fried egg rolls, soft spring rolls, fried shrimp, fried wrapped shrimp and some kind of crab puffs, and dipping sauces. The spring rolls are great, fresh, clean and very tasty. Not sure about those crab puffs and wrapped shrimp. I don't think they travel well, so not going to criticize. Pho with brisket, very good. Twice the brisket of any other I've had, tender and lean. Plenty of accompaniments, sprouts, noodles, herbs. Combo plate with vermicelli very generous portions and quite tasty. I've lived in the same home for 21 years and never knew there was Pho so close to home! I ordered P23. Seafood Pho (Pho Do Bien Hoac Pho Chua Cay), F37. Combination Fried Rice and A5. Crab Puffs online. Received an e-receipt immediately with an estimated pick up time. I used Google maps to get there and it sent me to the wrong location. This place is on Broadway Rd. on the north side of the Light Rail. The restaurant is situated in an unassuming small plaza. My ordered was separated by by hot and cold items, which included the broth, cilantro for garnishment, lime, fish sauce, bean sprouts, onion, seafood, and probably a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting because it came jam packed with food. Okay, so I definitely should have cut up the seafood prior to putting it in my broth. It was a tad bit difficult to chew or bite off in its existing size. Other than that, I wouldn't have changed a thing. I wouldn't go as far as to say that this is the best Pho I've tried, but it's definitely a solid 4 stars on taste and quality. Combination fried rice was just okay. At least 3 stars. I've had better at at least two other places that come to mind (Pho Viet Nam in Chandler and Big Bowl Chinese Restaurant in Mesa). The food is good but tonight the service was not so good. We waited 40 mins to get our order down and the first server was the only one running around bringing people's orders and I felt bad since I guess they were short staffed. Tonight wasn't a busy night but still one man can't be running the whole place. He complained about how his partner was "lazy" and "slow" and his partner was an older gentleman. That sucks to be telling your customers that. It's not nice. He did apologize for him just going back and forth but continued to talk about his partner about not nice things. The first server forgot where he put the reciept for our order so a younger lady came to take our order again. So overall, we got seated right away and waited about an hour ish. His partner then served us while our first server complained of how "slow" he was. But we felt bad since he can only do so much because he was an older gentleman. 100% the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been to in all of Arizona, and I have been to more than 10. Masks are optional here, which is nice. I previously never like Pho. Most places use unfiltered nasty tap water, and all I can taste if the grossness of the tap water. A few places use filtered purified water, but it lacked in depth and savoriness. But after tasting my family member's pho when she ordered it, I was instantly sold. There is good Pho after all! Pure, clean water, strong savory flavor, and very deep and diverse. The meal I ordered was incredible, and is consistently good every time I get it. Leos Special #1 and Leos Special #2. The eggs in number two are cooked awesome. Their Nem Nuong (Charbroiled Pork) is like Vietnamese Ham and is crazy tasty. The BBQ pork is not the best, but pretty good. However, the serving of veggies is incredible. Nearly half a cucumber, half a cup of nicely diced lettuce, and 1/4 cup pickled carrots and daikon. I'm not a big fan of their pickled foods, too sour for me. But the veggies overall are superbly fresh. The only downside is the price. At $10-13 for the average dish, it isn't cheap like a lot of Vietnamese restaurants. But their portion size makes up for it because most dishes can easily be split into two servings, and the pho can be split into three! Last time my friend ordered some sweet, sour and spicy chicken wings (it's all three)... he was literally scooping the sauce onto his finger and licking it off, it was that good! The Bun Bo Hue was crazy. It had a ton of flavor and depth as well. It was so good that it inspired us to go home and try to cook our own homemade batch of Bun Bo Hue the next day! I've eaten pho all over the world and unfortunately it a lot of what makes a place is the vibes. This place doesn't have. The pho is very mediocre and the smoothies are horrible. I called in and asked if they made smoothies and drove about 15 minutes and the lady lied and said no smoothies today. I then told her I just called in and then she said ok wait 15 minutes. I waited and paid their extra $3 charge for using a card to get really bad smoothies and she put the boba on top.... Like she forgot or something. Just no. *update - We've been here several times and their food is consistently awesome! Great prices and the people are friendly! We did take-out and tried their Pho with beef, fresh rolls, and Phad Thai. Everything was great, the Pho has a ton of meat, the fresh rolls had shrimp, pork with peanut sauce. The phad Thai still is the same in the northwest but is certainly the closest. It has the char on the noodles which makes it takes more authentic. The inside of the restaurant is nothing exciting but most legit Pho places aren't. read more

This Pho's is by far the best around the area. Honestly you can not beat their prices for what you get. We always order the, "P16 in large." Just try and add everything they give you including the limes, bean sprouts, add small to taste the sriracha hot sauce it really makes a difference for balancing of the dish. Their fried chicken dumplings are delicious with the sweet and spicy sauce on the side. One bite is not enough. The only down side to this place is their service. They are very short staffed but well worth the wait. Just be in no hurry, have patience and you wont be disappointed. We've been going once a week for a year now.
