Really good and fresh spring rolls. Their 'Bo Luc Lac' was really delicious along with the caramelized onions and steamed rice. And the coffee with condensed milk was smooth and perfect. The one star taken away was for the 'pho' broth and how it was lacking "dimension and depth" in its flavor... It wasn't bad but just wasn't what we are used to. My partner and I get so spoiled when we go to our favorite place (Pho Dung 2) for pho and the broth there is stellar. My coworker and I tried this place for lunch today. I love Vietnamese food and wanted some pho. We had the spring rolls as an appetizer and they were pretty good. I ordered a pho soup that according to the menu had shrimp and pork. The waitress must have given me something else because the pho I got had chicken, shrimp, some weird dark textured meat (definitely not brisket or flank) and quail eggs. I only ate the noodles, chicken and shrimp. I was not pleased with the pho at all. We went at noon, you would have thought the place would be packed but there was only one other table occupied, and it was a single person dining. It really makes me question these reviews. With so many good Vietnamese restaurants to chose from, I won't be back. read more

I was sick for a few days. My boyfriend stopped here on his way home to get me soup. He had never ordered pho before. He told her that I wasnt feeling well and she hooked him up with food. The pho was so yummy! And perfect for my upset tummy. I had plenty left over for lunch. He also got a bah mi sandwich, which I have not eaten but tried the pork and it was soo good!! I ask for their speciality Mi Quang which to my surprise, it was one of the best I had in awhile. I would never try a restaurant that wasn't recommended to by a worthy foodie or has a 4stars or better. Absolute favorite Vietnamese restaurant to go to in Spring Branch area. Great food and excellent customer service. Love the owners! They make an effort to remember you and your order preferences. If she ever read this review, she could probably guess who I was. I go here almost every week (seriously) and have taken others with me. I've ordered quite a few items on their menu but my absolute favorites are bun bo hue (spicy Vietnamese noodle soup) and goi cuon (spring rolls w shrimp and pork slices). Both are so good, they're better than my grandma's!!! And that's saying a lot! And I'm not sure what it is, but the spring rolls are the best I've ever had. And I'm not exaggerating.. Something about the rice paper they use and the shrimp tastes fresh (no fishy or ocean taste). I've seen a couple of people, Asians and Americans, order just the spring rolls for a quick to-go meal. My boyfriend is half black/white and very American. He's not familiar with Vietnamese food at all. I've introduced him to a couple of Vietnamese dishes (banh mi, pho, bo kho) but he finds them alright. However, he loves their bun bo hue and has asked for it several times! This is a great family restaurant that people from various ethnic backgrounds can go to. I've even overheard the owner speak a little Spanish! It's kinda like a hole in the wall place and family owned but boy was the Pho exceptionally good! Broth was clear and clean not like others where it's muggy and way too much ingredients in the broth. Bun Rieu Oc was really good too! And if you want hieu tieu dry, it's good. Other places use msg in their hieu tieu but this place does not because my stomach knows. This is our "go to" Vietnamese comfort joint. Always good, generous portions, they know us by our order now. The restaurant itself is a bit of a dive but you want that in a Vietnamese place. Their bun (I like the chargilled pork and eggrolls) is the bomb. If you order for pick up the order is always ready when you get there.
