Great little place! Quiet, too. I had the cold noodles (vermicelli) with grilled shrimp and pork. My wife got the curry bowl, and our daughter got the wonton egg noodle bowl. Everyone enjoyed their meals a lot (and the gals got to re-enjoy their leftovers for lunch today). Also enjoyed a pair of cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffees) and a Thai iced tea. I've eaten here a couple of times before I was a Yelper. I never had a problem when I went there. The waitress who I think is the only waitress is quiet. She's not mean, but not very personable. This past time my BF and I went I knew I wanted to eat Pho. I was catching a cold, so some soupy dish was definitely on my mind. My BF ordered Won Ton, and I ordered the chicken Pho. While we were waiting for our food a party of 8 came in, and we were asked if our table (that could seat 4) could be switched out with a 2-seater table. It was awkward because the table next to us said their table could be used because they were leaving soon, but the waitress asked us if our table could be used. I didn't think it was too bad of a thing, but it was some-what weird being that the other customers offered their table. We were so hungry the food seemed to take forever (it was really only 15 maybe 20 minutes at most). I asked for some Chinese Parsley to add more flavor to my Pho. The Pho was good, and I really enjoyed the broth. It wasn't too oily, and it had flavor (I've eaten Pho that tasted bland /:). My BF thought his Won Ton was ok, and I told him he should have gotten the Pho (: If you're by the mall, this could be a place you check out. I wouldn't suggest getting appetizers. They only serve 2 spring rolls /: They serve lemon AND a straw with their waters which I like. Okay the third star is more of a pity star in my mind, since we used to go there when it was the pasta place, run by the same family. Why did you change to Vietnamese? Or was it even Vietnamese that we had last night? We were thinking it was more Chinese or Thai afterwards?!! This was the second time I tried this place, the first time I wasn't blown away, but I thought I would give them a second chance...not a good idea. There were three of us who went out, and this is what we had: 1 - Spring Rolls 2 - Chicken Basil - the special 3 - Spicy Fish something - the special 4 - Braised duck leg soup with noodle ...and two hot teas. The total was $45 with tip, meh...afterward we all wished we went to burger king for whoppers (no joke). The spring rolls, ugh, second time having them, and won't ever have them again. For $4.95 you get two spring rolls cut in half, which were mostly wrapper. If I ever want spring rolls again in K-town I am going to Saigon Noodle House - I am sorry we didn't go there!! Chicken Basil - What can I say? The salad was good? The chicken was thigh meat, okay to be expected, but the sauce was so bland and the green beans were mushy and had an odd taste. I understand using frozen green beans, but man these were just soggy, and not worth the price tag of over $10. Spicy Fish - Another let down. The fish came out and it was more like fried little fish bits with a spicy ginger dipping sauce. We kept thinking is this fish and chips? If so where are the fries to make this tolerable? The sauce needed SOMETHING. We added some of the fish-sauce from the spring rolls, which made it bearable, but still not worthy of the price of $12. Man another letdown. Braised duck leg soup - Pretty decent, and probably the best thing that we ordered. It came in a shoyu soup base, but needed something, couldn't put my finger on it. We were thinking ginger, but not sure. It also came with 3 pieces of bok choy, or what I call "green vegetable" (that is what they called it when we went to China, as it was served with every meal there). There were also two pieces of mushroom which were pretty good, a bit rubbery, but I think they were some sort of portabello, so that is the norm. The noodles were okay, but the star was the duck leg. It was nice, fall off the bone, and not gamey at all. I think this was the only saving grace in the meal, otherwise I would have definitely given this place two stars for sure. Pros: - Nice atmospehere. - Clean. - Nice friendly woman/staff. Cons: - The price. - And others, too many to list. Sorry Pho My Vi...won't be coming back :( read more

Who would of known this simple but slightly higher end Vietnamese place would be in a strip mall? It has competition on either side (Japanese & local restaurants) but this place holds it's own. You can tell they are passionate in their dishes as their yellow curry has lots of spices, ingredients, and is very tasty. Their thai ice tea is definitely made in house (not from a can) with the strong hint of black tea, and has a fresh creamyness...delicious! Service is great and their menu offers quite a variety of options. Prices are a tad higher then other Vietnamese places but well worth it. read more

My favorite place to order pho in Kaneohe (there are several, don't waste your time at those other places). Most people would think that all pho is the same... they are wrong. The pho here has a beefier flavor than the other places in Kaneohe, has nicer ambiance, and a more diverse menu. I usually come here with someone and we split an order of the shrimp dumplings (have to try at least once). The are served in a sweet shoyu vinegar sauce (it actually goes well together). Their pho is inexpensive and very tasty. They also give a lot of meat per order. Their cold noodle with grilled pork is a good alternative if you aren't in the mood for pho. If I ever have a craving for pho, I will continue to come back here. The service is also on point and their Vietnamese coffee is also very refreshing. If you are in Kaneohe and want a good meal, than this is a good place to come. read more

The same family that used to run Abargio Pasta (loved that place as well). This new Vietnamese place is great. The flavors are fresh, clean, and delicious. Their summer rolls and the green papaya salad are refreshing and delicious. I had the pho with beef tendon and meatballs. The broth was flavorful and not too overwhelming. Located next to Sumo Ramen in the same strip mall as Safeway. Had the Round-Eye (eye of round steak) Pho. Generous big bowl of pho with gobs of noodles and a good helping of meat. Light flavorful broth with nothing odd or unusual (sometimes they can be sharp or fishy) going on. Big plate of bean sprouts and thai basil to add as you see fit. They were swamped with piles of people wanting to try out the new restaurant so they were a bit slow. Not terribly, but you can tell they are still working out a few bugs in the kitchen. Wait staff was very polite, prompt and attentive. Easy free plentiful parking in the Mall parking lot. NO CORKAGE FEE! Bring your bottle and they'll open it n' give you glasses, for no charge. What goes with pho anyway? It's so new there is nothing hanging on the pale yellow walls yet. So the atmosphere is plain and a bit stark. But I was there for the food, not the scenery. I wish I had written this right away... But here's what I can remember. I had the pho here and granted most Kaneohe-Ians aren't super exposed to Pho, but I was greatly disappointed. The pho was mediocre at best. If I was Ono for pho I would still think twice about going back here. I would make the trek to town for my pho jones. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with the pho, it just that there wasn't anything right about it. To give background, my favorite pho is the one in cultural plaza. But to be honest I don't have too much experience with pho. I just know what I like... Thai basil and if there are other greens that's awesome, lemon or lime, shiracha and plum sauce... Those are the standards for me. If you're on the windward side looking for some good pho, I'd try the one in windward City. It's so much better. Very tasty, and they give lots of Thai basil. Service was a little slow even tho there weren't a whole lot of people there. It took awhile to get our bill. The insides were alright. Nothing special but nothing I recall as being bad. Kinda standard for this type of restaurant. My food partner had the curry, which he didn't care for. We had summer rolls too which I totally don't remember so it must have been forgettable. It's not a bad place to eat, despite my lackluster review. I think maybe I just didn't order the right things. I'll give it another try probably, but never for the pho. This is the freshest place. Their food is like soooo fresh and soooo good. I come from Westminster, CA, and we take our Pho very, very seriously. This place is exceptionally good. Tucked Away in a Strip Mall - Really Good Vietnamese Food We were a little apprehensive when we approached the restaurant as there was no one else in it during prime dinner time. What we discovered is that this restaurant does a huge takeout business and there must have been 15 people in and out during the hour we were there. We brought our own wine and enjoyed the best Pho we have had in years! We got off to a good start with the shrimp spring rolls in rice paper. My girlfriend and I have been feeling sick so we decided that pho would be the perfect sickly meal. We came to Pho My Vi and were told to sit anywhere. The server was very friendly and told us to sit anywhere. As soon as we picked a table, she immediately came with water. We asked for hot tea and she returned with the cutest tea cups with the perfect temperature tea. We ordered TOFU ROLLS to start with. 5.50$ for two rolls. They were decent. My favorite thing about Vietnamese food is the use of peanut sauce - I thought this one was kind of bland. Kehau ordered chicken pho and I ordered tofu&vegetable pho. Kehau's chicken pho came out and mine came out way later. I would think hers would come out later and mines first. The server was very sweet though acknowledging my pho was taking long and told me it would be out shortly. It was very good but so big neither of us could finish and took most home. Yay breakfast! We stayed for awhile and chatted and we weren't chased out even though I noticed we were the last to leave. The stars are because my pho came out so much longer after Kehaus. read more

I work in town, but live on the Windward side. While dining options are plentiful in town--if I'm going to grab something fast, nourishing, and vegan (yes, vegan!) on my way home--Pho My Vi is the place I'll stop the most often. They do not have a lot of vegan/vegetarian options, but the fact that they have any at all is awesome. I am addicted to the vegetable pho with tofu. Service is excellent. After a morning at the beach, we decided to drive around and we stumbled upon Pho My VI. (In the shopping center across from windward mall). We weren't sure if we really wanted to eat there or not because the prices were a bit expensive for pho. ($7.50 for a medium) I'm so glad we did, because this place was amazing. Portion size was good, everything in the combo was great.... the tendon was really tender. The broth is what did it for me though. It was light and and flavorful and you could see the pieces of meat floating around from it being cooked in it. It was the type of pho that makes you feel stoned and relaxed.
