Our favorite Pho place! My other half and I love going to "hole in the wall" spots. We tried Pho My Vi and we find ourselves comparing other pho to theirs. We only get the pho here. They offer up to 3 meat choices. The food comes out fairly quickly, if it's not a busy night (usually week nights). The broth is very flavorful, and that alone sold us to this place. Sometimes, we'll order the cheesecake they have for the week. The liliko'i cheesecake is super rich, but well worth the money. (Oh, prices are reasonable). The service is great too! This is he first time I strayed from town. At lunch we stopped by. We tried their Pho with tendon and Pho with shrimp. Service was prompt and our Pho came fast. The side veggies were fresh. The size of the medium is generous, the broth very tasty and my tendon was tender. The shrimps were nice sized in the other Pho. Will be back for sure. read more

This is my go to Pho restaurant when I am sick or when I need some comfort food. The owners and workers are very friendly and remember our order every time. The bone broth is a rich almost creamy but still that clear wonderful brown color of caramelized onions, and slow cooked meaty perfection. They serve plenty of the usual basil, lemon and sprouts to accompany their hearty servings of hot broth noodles and the usual choices of meat, oxtail, rare beef (in or out), and various other animals parts for those more daring than I typically am. There is a restroom just beyond the kitchen (customers and their emergencies only) where you can see where your food is made and the kitchen is immaculate. The employees can be seen enjoying a menu item from time to time which sets my heart and my stomach at ease. I'm so glad this restaurant is open for take out. Ordered pho with rare round eye and soft tendon and the vermicelli with spring rolls. Their food is always so fresh and delicious and they really take the time to package your order so carefully. When I placed the order, I forgot to ask if the soup was packaged separately, so I was very relieved when I saw that it is kept separate from the noodles. They even wrapped the round eye separately so it doesn't cook until you add the broth. Everything was delicious. We'll be back again to get our pho fix. read more

Day: Random after work early dinner. Parking: This little spot is located across windward mall, inside the strip mall area. There are so many parking spots so it wasn't an issue finding a place right across the restaurant. Ambiance & Seating: The colors are cute and bright. The restaurant looks and smells clean which I can really appreciate. There are also a nice number of seats, there was a good amount of seats as well, ones that lined the walls and some down the middle. Service: The lady serving us was so sweet, I dont even think it had too much to do with the fact that we were eating with our friends who were regulars there. She was naturally sweet and helped my husband and I order our food. My cup of water and tea was never empty and they frequently checked on us to make sure we were doing okay while the food was cooking. What we ordered: Fried calamari, combination pho and beef pho. The calamari was super fresh and fried in fresh oil. The Combination and Beef pho were served with a plate of veggies that you dress your own bowl with as with all good pho places. The large pho was LARGE, with tons of broth, meat and noodles. I was impressed. The broth was flavorful too but since I'm no pho connoisseur i'm not sure how it measures up. We stayed at the restaurant for over 2 hours and we were never rushed and enjoyed our meal to the fullest. As most asian restaurants they offered us coffee or tea for after which was a nice touch. Honestly when i come and eat Pho there are three main things I'm expecting you do to make me happy. 1. Portions - I'm expecting to get what i pay for and be satified or full when im done eating. 2. Taste- i guess this included the freshness and quality of vegetables and meats in the pho. Also the taste of the soup base. 3. My soup better be hot! (Temperature) For some reason i have to eat my soup hot. I definitely ain't down for warm soup. Pho My Vi always seems to do a great job with these 3 items and thats why its usually my go to spot in Kaneohe. The staff members are friendly and i really like the location. I specifically enjoyed the pho comprising beef tendon, tripe and round eye. The medium serving was equivalent to the large elsewhere. I came hungry and left full. I remained in good health afterwards. This restaurant is an excellent value for the money in my opinion. I recommend this restaurant. This restaurant opens later in the day so it is not recommended for breakfast but is excellent for lunch and dinner in my opinion. read more

ATMOSPHERE: I'm going to go ahead and say, not your typical pho shop-ish. Most times, it's very Vietnamese decor, but the only asian looking thing in this place is the huge gold Buddha by the register! Other than that, it's kind of just your typical restaurant. There are 4-seat tables on the left and right of the restaurant, and 2-seat tables down the middle aisle. Not the smallest pho restaurant I've been in, but not the biggest either. No beer, but it is BYOB! SERVICE: Is amazing. I've eaten here a few times and each server I have had (even though there's only been three different ones), has truly been the best. They are very friendly and kind, helpful and patient. Where some servers come off as irritable when you take forever to order or don't know what you want, they always just stand there patiently waiting. Another thing I loved? Last night, my boyfriend's daughter wanted to eat Zippy's spaghetti (she's a picky eater). I was a little apprehensive to ask, since most establishments are adamant about you not bringing outside food to their restaurants (yes, I get it). I called and said, "My daughter [to make things easier] doesn't really eat pho, but we wanted to eat there tonight. Can we buy her food from Zippy's and bring it in?" The lady on the phone said, "Oh yes, of course you can." AHHHH! Maika'i! FOOD: By far... MY FAVORITE PHO place on the Island. I have only eaten at a handful, but to me, none can beat this place. For one, I always order chicken pho, no matter where I am. And most places super skimp on the chicken. Like, one or two, maybe four if I'm lucky, small slices! But this place, totally packs it in. The broth is also my favorite. I don't know how else to describe it, but if I'm super hungry, I can almost down the entire bowl of broth - that's really saying something, considering no matter how hungry I am, I will never drink a whole bowl of broth at AGU or at Goma Tei or anywhere else for that matter. OVERALL: This place will continue to be my favorite until I find another place (if possible) to replace them. Judging off of my taste buds, I highly recommend it! read more

I have to admit I'm a former townie which means I was surrounded by some of the BEST pho places on the island. So this place doesn't stand up to those expectations. If you can look past that, the broth is tasty, veggies are fresh, service is quick and polite. If you're dining in, it gets REALLY cold so bring a jacket or sweater. If you're not used to it, the meat comes out cooked. Really cooked. And if you order take out and ask for the meat raw, they still cook it. That's taken some getting use to because the places in Chinatown bring it out rare & let you cook the meat to your liking...at least the ones I've been to. For me the meat is the make it or break it. All in all, if you're in the area and need a quick pho pick me up...this place isn't too bad. read more

I would have liked to give this place more stars because it was extremely clean and the server was so very nice. That unfortunately isn't enough to give a four star rating. The food was good, but not out of this world. I ordered a big bowl of Pho and spring rolls. The spring rolls were not very good and they were a little too expensive. The Pho I ordered came out in a huge bowl that was scalding hot. Unfortunately, it lacked flavor and had very little meat inside. Their pho is alright- very very light in flavor for the soup and not too much ingredients. However I don't come here for pho- I come here for their other noodles, specifically the egg noodle and duck leg! It's amazing! That absolute BEST pho and cold noodle dishes on the windward side. We have been dining here every month for two years - and we live 20 miles away! Authentic and tasty pho, huge portions of cold noodle dishes, and the customer service is unparalleled. Our absolute favorite waitress is Hoa who is so sweet and genuine. My favorite go-to pho place in Kaneohe would be this one. The ladies are almost always uber nice, and the wait is usually minimal. Food is pretty decent, too. The one less star would be going towards the other servers (whom I don't see all that often, really). Sometimes they aren't that great, but it's not that big of an issue because I don't see them too much. Good atmosphere, friendly service (the lady checked up on me and was good refilling waters), and the pho was good, you could smell the seasoning in the broth before it got near the table. The food is fresh, well priced, but lacking consistency. It's a hidden gem within kailua and is the best pho in the area. I love their summer rolls which are always fresh and come with a delicious peanut sauce. Their pho is very good but the flavor varies, sometimes the broth is extremely flavorful and others bland. While most of the familiar Vietnamese dishes are fairly consistent with most restaurants, it's the specialty dishes I'm a fan of. The ribeye steak gets a 3 star michelin rating. Tender, generous portion, with a red wine reduction sauce, topped with mushrooms and onions. Scoop your rice right into that sauce and be ready for the most delicious mouth watering experience. The steamed grilled vegetables is perfection! Fine dining restaurants would charge $50+ for a dish like this. My second favorite is the Spicy Garlic Fish dish. Moist, tender, lightly battered morsels of fish topped with the best ginger sauce, ever!. I always order the ginger sauce on the side (control freak I am). The mixed veggie salad is light & refreshing. The ginger sauce is the best I've ever had, not drenched in lots of oil. So glad to have this restaurant in Kaneohe. read more
