I'd have to say that I'm very disappointed that when you order spring rolls for an appetizer that you would get more than 2 pieces for about $9.00. They don't taste that great either. I first had pho in 2011 and I immediately fell in love. It was something that wasn't as popular until I moved out to the northwest and then to Hawaii. There's a pho place every 15-20 minutes away in suburban/urban Hawaii now. Each place does something a little different, but a lot of times they're pretty similar. I ordered their 3 combination protein pho plate and my wifey ordered their beef brisket plate. It was about normally priced in comparison to other pho spots, but service definitely took a bit longer. My wife took special notice to their broth. I usually saturate mine with red chili paste and sriracha to the degree of liquid hot magma, so usually I don't notice the taste. But for those who don't like it hot, I guess they've got good tasting broth. The medium size is good, but if you're really hungry, get the large. (I could've eaten the large that day, all of it, including the Thai basil and sprouts) Their Thai milk tea looked legit, I regret not ordering it. I'm rounding up from a 3.5 rating because we all enjoyed our dishes and the owners are so nice and provide good service. Venue: small clean shop with minimal decoration. Service: shop seems to be run by a quiet and gentle couple who set the tone for a calm pleasant dining experience. Food: my wife had the beef brisket pho and thought it was quite good. You have the choice of regular or large bowl. Regular is a generous serving for me. I had the veggie and tofu pho. Compared to my favorite veggie pho it was a close second place. The flavor of the veggie broth was excellent but I'm pretty sure it was enhanced by some MSG. I'm pretty good at detecting it. Daughter had a cold vermicelli plate with seasoned tofu and crunchy spring rolls and salad. She loved it and nearly cleaned the plate. It did look very good. Dessert: unlike many Vietnamese places several desserts are offered. There was a mango sorbet, cheesecake and a special chocolate dipped ice cream...I forget but it had a fancy name. So we tried the dipped ice cream for $5.50. It was good but way overpriced. See below. Prices: veggie pho was $11.95. Veggie is usually the cheapest of all! Cold vermicelli plate $13.95. That was overpriced too. It was less complicated than a bowl of pho. So even though we really enjoyed our meal here...I did a double take when I saw the bill. I think the lady noticed my eyes popping out as I saw the total ! LOL I quickly added it up and it was correct but it just hit home to me that the prices here are in fact high compared to neighboring pho places. So that is why 3.5 stars. You would think that with "pho" being part of the restaurant's name, it would be its signature dish; however, we still have not tried it, as we've heard many people say that the pho was uneventful. With menu items offering shrimp tempura, fried won ton, udon, egg noodle soups, chiu chow noodles, and braised duck leg noodle soup, it's obvious that this is not an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Located in the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center, the restaurant is clean and bright with contemporary paintings on the wall. There are about 10 tables, each seating 4 people. Service is sometimes spotty. Once we waited more than a half hour for our dishes, and we were ready to walk out, when our dishes finally came; this was way too long of a wait. The price was not too bad for what you receive (food quality is great, just portion-wise was a bit small). Neutral. The ambiance is very soothing. The exterior of the building is not too impressive, however, the interior of the restaurant is rather small but very clean and well lit. Add a 1/2 star. I have tried an innumerable amount of Vietnamese restaurants in Hawaii and this definitely ranks one of the best (top 7). Since I have only been here once, I will need to dine at this location a few more times to grade them further on their consistency and other food items... I look forward to my next visit! Anyone who knows me, knows my wife has an unhealthy yet healthy "Pho addiction". I aim to please most days haha) Cute joint, near Safeway, it has enough tables and space for a good amount of folks to dine in and get a good bite to eat. Our server right away greeted us & informed we could seat wherever we pleased. As we settled in to look at the menu, I noticed that they're prices were super reasonable, especially the Pho! So I was super excited to get on with my order (because secretly I was craving to eat Pho) & ofcourse my wife was studying the menu to see what Pho interested her as well. Decided to order they're Brisket & Round Eye Steak Pho Combo, & my wife decided to just order the Brisket Pho. Yum Factors: * Broth has a light flavor but delicious! Didn't need to add much hot sauce or hossin sauce, it tasted well by itself * Portion is HUGE as the bowl (we ordered Large!) * Right amount of meat & noodles to satisfy anyone *Broth came out steamy HOT, not luke warm or semi hot, it made me small kine break a sweat! Lol Nothing really negative to say about the Pho it was pretty awesome in my words, broth to me makes your Pho, & they're broth is pretty darn good. We ordered Summer Rolls for appetizer, I like how they add mint inside, all the ingredients seem fresh with that added garnish, not a fan of they're peanut sauce though, it was pretty watered down & I like mines thick. They're Thai Ice Tea was a must try for me, & it tasted pretty good, still looking for that taste that I could not ever find since the first time I ever tried it in Seattle, hopefully they're is a Thai Ice Tea out there that will satisfy my taste buds lol Overall, service was awesome & so was they're food, would definitely dine in again! The owners of Abargio Pasta have changed the concept from pasta to pho, and what a HUGE improvement. I had the Braised Duck Leg with wheat noodle. It was supposed to be flavored with tangerine and ginger, but I couldn't taste either. Fresh shiitake mushrooms, baby bok choy, and crispy garlic chips added some flavor to the fairly dull broth, but it still needed a big squeeze of hoisin and sriracha. The duck was moist and tender, though, so it was still very good. My girlfriend had the Seafood Curry, and it was very delicious. Rich, creamy coconut milk, sweet basil, and yellow curry complimented, but didn't overpower the delicate flavor of shrimp, fish, fish balls and squid. It was a nicely balanced dish. These people obviously know how to cook well. And, the new place is appointed with real plates and silverware. So, it's strange to me that Abargio Pasta was as bad as it was, while Pho My Vi is pretty darn good. I actaully don't know if they had to change the concept to make an improvement. Kaneohe is lacking in a good Italian-American joint, but, as everywhere else on this island, has pho on nearly every corner. (other Pho in Kaneohe: Saigon Noodle House, Ba-Le, Pho Viet Thai, and Little Saigon) I don't understand why they couldn't just spruce up Abargio, and execute good food in real dishes rather than the weak sauce they were serving on Styrofoam. Oh well, either way, Pho My Vi is definitely on the radar for many return visits. There are so many great looking items on the menu that I still need to try. read more

We came here with our tummy set on eating hot soup. When I saw the menu I had to think twice. The lady next to me was eating cold noodle with beef and shrimp and it looked so good, I had to get that. We started off with Thai iced tea and hot Vietnamese coffee which is really good. We had to get the summer rolls with the peanut sauce, that was good as well. We then got our cold noodles which is really really good and the portion size is enough for two people. We were so full but the man on the other table had tartufo it looked good we HAD to get it. You can get either vanilla or kona coffee ice cream and it has a hard chocolate shell with whip cream and cherry with chocolate and strawberry sauce. The presentation was so good I didn't want to eat it. But I did and it was delicious!!!!!! Our server was very attentive and friendly. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Very clean establishment compared to most other Pho restaurants. I had spring rolls and Pho Tai (beef). Spring rolls were hot, came with nice fresh lettuce and lots of mint. Fish sauce was light, but had great flavor. I had the Pho beef rare on the side, fantastic hot broth!! Came with lots of fresh basil, bean sprouts and lime. They also Gabe me fresh jalapeños and extra lime on request. Super refreshing:) Also, the little things like they serve drinks in real glass and the soup came in a real porcelain bowl. The suspense is killing me. I was pretty set on trying the braised duck with egg noodles. It sounded like the perfect cold weather treat and I like duck. However, the waitress informed is when we were ready to order that they were out of both the duck noodle and beef stew noodle. Wahhh! I settled for a medium bowl of pho. I liked that the options were very easy. I could choose up to three of he five options or all give for a little extra. I ended up getting rare beef, brisket and beef balls. For $8, I was more than satisfied. I actually was only able to eat half and took the rest home. I like the attention to detail they have at pho my vi. Each water glass is brought out with a little slice of lemon. There were also like three different chill sauces and the lemons that came with the pho were super juicy and delish. The pho itself is loaded with meat and with the addition of bean sprouts and basil, it was the perfect lunch in a cold rainy day in Kaneohe. Personally, I like it here. I find I'm a bit picky with my pho, so I admit this might be my personal preference, as there have been pho restaurants I don't like that other people do. I only started to really like pho in high school. Can you believe!? Anyways, I get the regular sized pho and it's enough for me. The broth may be on the simpler side, but there's no harm in that when I'm adding oyster sauce, chili sauce and mint. However, before even getting to the pho, I find it's best to start off with spring rolls! They come out really hot. It's a nice crunch before you're swept up by the soft, chewy noodles and meat in your bowl of pho. I recommend the iced thai tea alongside this meal. It's always a nice treat and a great way to cool off if you've managed to burn your tongue somehow. Speaking of burning, it's great that they always have a full bottle of Sriracha, and full containers of chili oil and chili sauce on the table. I'm a sauce lover, even if it burns both my tongue and stomach. Pho My Vi is a very local establishment, nothing too fancy, as it's in the middle of Kaneohe. Personally, I don't mind that at all seeing that it's the standard of Kaneohe. I like how comfortable the atmosphere is and to be honest, I wouldn't be opposed to coming here alone. The servers are friendly and don't hover over your shoulder the way people do sometimes. Also, seeing that it is in a shopping center, one should never have much trouble parking either. Coming here after an adventure filled hike up Haiku Stairs one recent afternoon made me crave Pho and some Cold Stone Creamery. Weird combination, I know. Since I was driving through Kaneohe going back to Kamuki, I thought I would have dinner first before heading back. The closest Pho restaurant I didn't try was Pho My VI. I thought the name of the restaurant was interesting, but it wasn't really an issue. I wanted some good Pho and good service too. The restaurant was definitely not large, but it was a decent size. It is located in the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center, on the edge of the property. There is ample parking in the shopping center itself, or you could just drive across the street and park there and walk across. The restaurant was a typical set up. No frills, but your basics. The hostess greeted me to an empty table and I had to gaze the menu for a bit to see what kinds of Pho they do have. Just got to make sure. To be bold, I had the seafood Pho with summer rolls. The summer rolls arrived about 5 minutes after arriving and they felt like they were brought out from the refridgerator. COLD. Most restaurants are like that. I'm taking notes on that. After finishing off the summer rolls, the Pho came to my table and I squished the basil with the bean sprouts into the broth. It helps to let the basil get soft first before eating it. As it turns out, the Pho was pretty good, although I had better. I tried to like it, really! Average taste, but good nonetheless. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and got good service. This is my new favorite pho joint in Kaneohe. I am a pho-natic! So when I heard the old pasta place changed to a pho place, I had to go check it out. The place was still new, not that many people were eating there. The owner lady was super polite and took our order. I had the large pho with brisket, tendon and tripe. It was very tasty, good portion too, and they had all the must have condiments: beansprouts, basil, chili oil, and hoisin sauce. My husband had the large pho with brisket and two orders of spring rolls. Fresh and hot. He gobbled up majority of his before I even finished putting in my condiments. Reasonably priced, our check came out to around $30. Great food. Love the atmosphere. Sooo glad they changed from the pasta place. Gotta love my pho. :) read more

I was disappointed that they didn't have chicken balls but I thought it was cool that I could choose four out of the five items on the list to put in my pho. My bf and I waited a while for our pho to come out, which is weird because at other places it comes out quickly. The flavor of the soup wasn't delicious like how pho soup is supposed to taste like, and I got five small little beef balls. Boo... plus they didn't give jalapenos with the veggies (my bf loves to put this in the soup). Service: Nothing special. We got our waters five minutes before our food came which was kinda weird to me. However they put lemon in the water! Location: Sandwiched between Kenko ya and Sumo Ramen across the street from Windward mall. Plenty parking. Overall: Boo. I probably won't come again. If I do I think I'd order their curry. They offer up to 3 meat choices. The food comes out fairly quickly, if it's not a busy night (usually week nights). The broth is very flavorful, and that alone sold us to this place. Sometimes, we'll order the cheesecake they have for the week. The liliko'i cheesecake is super rich, but well worth the money. (Oh, prices are reasonable). The service is great too!
