I ordered the Pho #1 Dac Biet. It was delicious! All the flavors were on point. Mind you it was close to 100 degrees that day. I drank all the broth and finished some of a family members. It tastes like home made Pho without any MSG. So you won't be drinking glasses on glasses of water because of your dry mouth. This is usually one of my absolute favorite places to go for pho, however my family and I decided to get some for takeout and to our disappointment they had sold us spoiled meat! Pho is pretty hard to mess up. I've been coming to Pho Nam for quite some time now and they never fail to disappoint. A few suggestions, though: SUGGESTION 1: Stay open an hour later...when it gets close to 8 pm, you know they're closing because the lights start turning off and chairs start going up onto the tables. SUGGESTION 2: Lower your prices a little...once they started accepting credit cards here, the cost of a bowl of pho went up over 10% from the previous price. And considering a typical credit machine charges ~3%, why not maybe increase your prices 5%? I understand prices go up over time, but 10% all at once is a lot, in my opinion. I can't remember which type of pho that he got but it was delicious! I really liked the broth. The spring rolls were okay. I also got Vietnamese iced coffee but I drank it in like 3 sips because it was so full of ice. It was good too, but not worth it for the amount of coffee that you get. They don't believe in table spacing. Over 20 empty tables in this place, but they sat people at tables right next to us. Only 3 tables with people in the restaurant and we were all right next to each other with no empty table in between. They have a big piece of plastic hanging up at the front to protect them, but they don't care about spacing out the customers as long as they don't have far to walk. The meat portion size has gone down over time, but I still leave pretty full. The fried egg rolls at Pho 95 are still the best - this one is just okay but their garden rolls are great. The pho number one (generic pho w/ all the parts) is pretty good, in a unique broth that features a stronger cinnamon taste than other places. However, if you're not looking for meaty pho, you're out of luck as they do not feature vegetarian pho on the menu. After having their pho for several years now, I can say their pho is consistent and satisfying, but you'll end up drinking a gallon of water after. They have really yummy summer rolls. The coffee is nice and strong, but you lose out on the experience w/o the drip device other pho places use. Also, they allow customers to seat themselves, but then move them after they've gotten settled. Wait a minute, isn't that what a hostess is for? Or perhaps it would be easier to just have the customers wait to be seated. Don't get me wrong; this used to be one of the two best pho places in Rockville. I really wanted to like Pho Nam more than I did, but I didn't. I tried this place four on four separate occasions - the food was always mediocre and customer service varied from unfriendly to downright rude. Starting with the food, the noodles were different than any other pho noodles I have had and not in a good way. Sometimes a little crunchy or with some sort of texture, I can't really describe it, but not good for pho. The meat is lower in quality than other pho restaurants use and it is noticeably tougher and harder to chew. The broth, which is always the best part for me, is somewhat bland. The customer service is BAD. I've called in a take out order and have been hung on, without knowing if they have taken my order or not. When checking me out at the register they are usually talking to at least one other person and not even looking at me. Once I asked for extra bean sprouts - the woman walked away without even acknowledging my request so I turned to leave. I almost walked out the door when she was running behind me YELLING at me. From my experience everyone seems to have their favorite pho place. This is one of the first ones I ever went to so it has become one of my favorites. I am a firm believer that it's not pho if it doesn't have tripe and tendon in it and luckily there are plenty of options that do. The menu is fairly large for a pho place but not overly huge. If there was a negative start I would!! I have had many bad encounters at this restaurant but I kept coming because the pho is good but today tops it all. I found a bug in my pho. Instead of trying to deal with me I was being ignored and just told that the supervisor was not in. This is my favorite pho' place especially for breakfast. Pho is traditionally eaten for breakfast in Veitnam. #15 is my favorite and I request raw meat on the side. My daughters request Pho Nam at least once a week. It's our comfort food. Place gets super crowded during lunch time but the pho is worth the crowd. read more

I normally go to Pho 75 on Rockville Pike. However, this Pho is closer to both my home and work locations. The one plus that this place has over Pho 75 is that it takes credit cards. Everyone knows that being only cash is super inconvenient. Unfortunately, because they take card, their prices are uncharged. A large here is about $10 and a large at Pho 75 is about $7.50. Now onto the food. They offer both noodle soups and rice entrees. This place offers a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The broth here isn't as "rich" as the way I'd like. Though, when you are craving pho on a rainy day or hungover on a Sunday morning, you go to the closest pho haha. The restaurant has plenty of seating though it's dark and creepy. As for parking, it is a parking lot which can get crowded during lunch/dinner hours. However, there aren't other popular stores nearby so basically the parking is all theirs. I would give them a 4-star if their prices were reduced and if the broth was richer (though, this may be my preference). read more
