    4 Piece Fresh Spring Rolls
    Shaira A.

Not gonna lie, I was kinda iffy about this place, but it was a cold day and I was craving Bun Bo hue and hubby wanted pho. This was the closest in our area and had no choice. Moving from CA to FL, and now to Idaho, the amount of good asian foods becomes limited.. And I'm glad that this place was good. Although the bun bo hue was a bit of a disappointment, it didn't have blood cubes, pork hocks, and tendons were hard (could barely chew most of them), their pho was PHOnomenal lol Fresh spring rolls with just pork was also amazing, I had to order another one to go. Very casual, small spot, workers are friendly and nice. Would definitely come back here again to try their other food on their menu!

Giving them a 5 star for providing some high quality Pho! Today was my first time trying Pho in Boise so I wasn't expecting much but man did this place surprise me. First thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean and tidy the place was. No odors in the air and the tables were spotless. Customer service was also super friendly. I ordered the Pho and the wifey got the bun Bo hue and we ordered their fresh spring rolls as an appetizer. We ordered the spring rolls without the shrimp. They were probably the freshest spring rolls I've had! And the peanut sauce they provided was phenomenal. Additionally the Pho was rich in flavor, the noodles tasted perfect and the meat was probably the most tender Pho meat I've had. Honestly I think you should really try this restaurant if you enjoy Vietnamese food especially on a cold day!

Driving through Boise and thought that some pho might be good instead of fast food. Found Pho Nguyen on Yelp and it's close to our hotel. The restaurant is quite clean and spacious, with a few booths and a few tables spaced comfortably apart. There's also a bar table with a TV. To share, we ordered a large Combination Pho and a Vermicelli with Egg Roll, Grilled Pork, and Grilled Shrimps. The pho came with generous amounts of toppings. The broth was average. The vermicelli was very good. The grilled pork and shrimps were quite delicious, so was the egg roll. Service was good. We were greeted promptly and checked on a couple of times during our meal to make sure everything was fine. Prices were okay.

I've been looking for the best Pho in the Bay Area and this place is pretty comparable in taste but it's Boise! I wouldn't say it's the best but pretty great in taste! The broth, which basically defines the Pho, is light and savory. The noodles were also on point. The meat was a little bland but acceptable. I didn't have to mask the taste in hoisin sauce (Lee Kum Kee brand that is legit Asian) or sriracha. The service was quick but the place itself is not the best. The toilet was a bit dirty but reminded me of eating out in Singapore where all the best food places were not the cleanest. So maybe it's a 5 star if you want to have an authentic experience. It may not be the best spot for a date but then again, if your special someone loves good food, it all depends on you to make date night a special night! One last thing, I appreciated that this place didn't fall into the trap of cheesy names like "Pho-eva" that I see in the Bay Area. Just the last name of the owner. Simple but classy!

Came in tonight cause with it being so cold outside, pho sounded good! This joint is right down the road from me. Honestly with my last visit I was reluctant to try it again. But it was convenient so we gave it a go. We were greeted by someone in the kitchen as soon as we walked in. We sat ourselves at a table and waited for menus. We sat for a good 10 minutes till we were approached. Two of the servers walked by us several times not acknowledging us. We ordered everything all at once. I didn't want to have to wait for our drinks to be taken and then wait another 10-15 minutes for our dinner order. We grabbed some tea and a raspberry Italian soda for drinks. Don't bother grabbing an Italian soda. It is more soda water to syrup so it was completely watered down. For dinner we wanted to start off with cha gio. Main coarse was large pho and bun bo hue. Our cha gio came out and they looked good. They are really small for an egg roll. I would compare the length of them to a fun size candy bar, maybe a bit smaller since they are cut in half. The circumference is about the size of a quarter, if that. You can eat them in one bite. Our pho and bun bo hue came out pretty fast. I would have like to enjoy my appetizer but everything pretty much came out together. My bowl of pho was hearty. It was piping hot. I will have to give props to this place. They are the only ones that really serve tripe and mint with their pho. I got a great amount of noodles which was nice. The brisket was kinda chewy but the steak was good. The bun bo hue was decent. You can taste the heat and lemongrass. The noodles were bouncy and chewy. They both were very filling. Service....... or should I say lack of. We weren't checked up on through the whole dining experience. The server dropped our bill off half way though dinner and didn't ask us if everything was good. People sat after us got taken care of before we did. Nothing much has changed much in service. The service was the worst part of today's visit.

Great service, great pho. The staff seem to love working there too. It was a great experience I will be back. I believe my pho was served to me by the owner Mr Nguyen.

The food was GREAT. The service was a little lacking, but not terrible. I think the actual building could use an update, it seems a little old and rundown. I'll be back, for sure. It was delicious.

Spicy beef pho- perfect for cold days!

But I rolled my dice today and took my chances and decided to head in. I sat myself. My server was handling a table but came to my table after. Dropped off a menu but this girl knew that she wanted. I did notice that they have size options for their pho now. To be honest, they are pricey compared to other joints. And their portions sizes do run smaller as well. I went with the large chicken pho today. Mannnnnn, the bowl that came out was massive! It was piping hot! The broth was clear. It was sprinkled with cilantro and onion. It looked like a delicious bowl of pho. The broth was savory and rich. The noodles were cooked perfectly! It still had softness to it will a slight bite. I added the basil, Sriracha and a little extra fish sauce. It was hard for me not to consume all the broth. The amount of noodles you get as a large here is a regular bowl at other joints. Today was the right amount I needed. This bowl was warm on my soul. The chicken was tender and not overly cooked. You get a good amount of chicken breast. Sriracha and hoisin sauce is the perfect dipping sauce for the chicken. Today's visit and my last visit was black and white. My server did a great job taking care of me today. The venue is also decorated for fall which was fun! I am stuffed to the brim. I enjoyed every bite of my bowl today. Now that it's getting colder, I will be seeing myself here quite often. Looking forward to mu next big bowl!

For dinner I was tempted to get a bowl of pho since it was so cold outside. But since I got pho yesterday I thought I'd order something different. Tonight's dinner choice was Vietnamese curry with fried tofu. My parents used to make this curry at their restaurant when I was younger. The smell and taste of it will always be a core memory for me. I remember the juicy chunks of chicken, potatoes and carrots in this beautifully crafted curry sauce. I was hoping for something similar. The bowl that was served to me was beautiful. The curry was golden. The sweet potatoes and carrots were vibrant in color. It smelled lovely. My first bite was delightful! It was fragrant in coconut, lemongrass and curry. It was very good! The curry was on the sweeter side as i continued eating it. I was only able to finish half. The curry did come with a lot of tofu! I believe the tofu was pre fried when it was purchased. It was good but wasn't fresh fried tofu. The baguette wasn't fresh. The bread didn't have the crustiness to the exterior of the bread. It was still good though. Compared to my last visit, it was night and day! Service was great! Food was good. The ambiance was casual but yet romantic. If you're looking for a good Vietnamese joint downtown, Pho Nouveau is a great local joint to try out.
