Wonderful delicious clean tasting healthy food. I had not been here fro a few years and remembered how much I liked it so I came back. I'm so glad I did because the restaurant has been Remodled from when I was last here and the food was amazing. I would say that years ago it had more of a small family owned restaurant feel. It did not have enough seating then and was a bit dark. It is much brighter there is more seating and the waitresses were wonderful as well. I will return again soon and recommend it to anyone. Loved it. Ask for a waitress names Clark. That's not her name but I was teasing her and asked what her name was. I'm an old man and she is a young woman but she was still very kind and told me her name. I asked if that was a stage name or her real name and she told me it was her real name and that her stage name was Clark. I really like the food BUT the service will prevent me from going back!! I went there tonight- the servers were very inattentive. I'm sure one customer doesn't make a big difference-but if they continue doing this it will affect their business. Again, food is good, they need to hire better people! This is isn't the first time I experienced this. I kept trying but I'm DONE! Since I posted my review yesterday, the owners responded to me promptly. Which is impressive. They truly care about their business and customers. They are sorry for what happened and will be meeting with their servers to train them in customer service. To me, that deserves another try! This food is beautiful and consistent. I prefer vegetarian pho (which is hard to find). As you can tell, they are very generous with the vegetables that are nicely steamed (unlike some places that give you undercooked vegetables or just a pile of mushrooms). I dropped in to this spot based on the need for a good bowl of Pho.. and the reviews no doubt. The place was understaffed when I arrived and they had a Help Wanted sign on the front door. I opted for a small bowl (beef) and waited with baited breath. The side accompanying ingredients seemed heaven the jalapeños and MIA on the cilantro, a slight bummer. Next I drove in only to find the temp of the soup lukewarm.. second bummer. I then drive deep and began the consuming process.. 2 takeaways,,, one very light on the beef the second heavy on the raw onion. - bummer . Nice place for shrimp rolls! Pho is great here, you get tendon and tripe all the goodies. They got boba and jelly! The fresh rolls look amazing and I can't say enough about the food. The staff is friendly and helpful, they have specials and I'm excited for a new pho restaurant! read more

If you're looking for a pho that feels meaty but pleasantly light (like a homemade broth should) and a tang of faint sweetness, this is it-- your best shot in Boise. The meat and tendon were done perfectly, I just wish it had tripe. In terms of being 'light', if you've eaten at a lot of pho places, you might notice most pho-- while delicious--tends to sit heavy in the stomach. This one doesn't; it feels right all around. I sat at the bar and ordered the combo pho with thai tea, which was also done right with the amount of tea and cream. And definitely wasn't entirely made from powder. The service is also super nice. I wanted to try their popcorn chicken but they ran out. Will definitely come again and try more of the menu. read more

I am really digging this Vietnamese place! Whenever my husband & I are downtown and need to feed our tummies, we usually head for mediterranean food or Pho Nguyen! Absolutely love their Pho! The flavor of the broth is always on point. Whenever our Pho arrives, we jump right in and there is pure silence for the next 10 minutes because we are busy salivating and enjoying our soup! The Pho is always served with fresh vegetables and I can't appreciate that enough! We always order the fresh spring rolls and they are served with their delicious peanut sauce! Mmmm yum! Also, we love the sweet ladies that help us! I hope some day they add bahn mi to their menu. I would be there every day! read more

I asked on reddit who had the best pho in town and another expatriate Minnesotan said that Pho Nguyen was the most reminiscent of the very good Vietnamese places on Eat Street in Minneapolis, and that person was correct. Excellent broth, good steak, plenty of noodles, friendly staff (genuinely polite and friendly and not fake customer service friendly). Nondescript environs but I probably would be suspicious of a fancy pho restaurant. I will be back for sure. Thanks a bunch! read more
