Good food and good atmosphere! Service was a bit odd. I got my meal for takeout and the gentleman at the front desk was halfway through processing my payment when the phone rang, he quickly set my bag of food on the counter and gave me my card back. I thought we were good to go, so I to grabbed the bag, but he said "Don't touch the bag please." while still on the phone. I was a bit confused, but once he got off the phone he told me that he need to verify that it was my food. Why put it on the counter and hand me my card back if I can't take it? Made no sense. Also as I was leaving he told me to "Stay safe and don't get skin cancer." If I wanted to laugh I would go to a comedy show, not Pho Nomenal. This was such a disappointment on so many levels. Do not waste your time or money here. First thing that was off was that you are directed to the counter to order, pay, and tip before being directed to your assigned table. Ours was supposedly "cleaned" but had dirty sticky napkins on both the table next to the napkin dispenser, and on the floor. One of the staff busing tables was simply brushing crumbs from tables onto the floor as well. Food arrived at different times, my husbands sandwich arriving first. Overall he said it was fine, but not amazing. Overall pretty small. Then arrived our shrimp appetizer. Biting into one, we found it to be raw and cold. I brought it to the staffs attention, so they removed it from our bill, promising to remake it and make sure it was cooked. When it arrived back at our table it was the exact same plate, same wrapped shrimp just cooked longer. How do I know? The sauce had crumbs in it from our initial dipping and it was short the two shrimp my husband and I bit into, as well as the salad missing several items that I had eaten already. So not a new plate at all. The vegan pho was a major disappointment as well. Broth was alright, but the vegan "meat" were foul. Texture was like boiled paste. They should just stick to traditional tofu or just a variety of veggies. Felt like they were trying to put variety into the bowl with different colors.... As flavor for the "meats" were non-existent. Veggies would have lended more flavor and variety to the soup. We also ordered a milk tea with boba. Flavor was good, but it was 75% ice in our cup. Barely any actual tea. Place is overpriced. Dirty. And food is subpar flavor wise and apparently a gamble if it's even going to be cooked. We will not be returning. read more

First time to Pho Nomenal. Lunch was moderately busy for a Friday, (half capacity). Menu had a perfect number of options. Ordered the R2-Glazed Chicken w/ a Cha Gio starter. First and foremost, the food was extremely delicious . Very flavorful and well portioned. I was very satisfied with the freshness and quality. This reason alone would draw me back. What may cause me to reconsider visiting again is pricing is a bit high. For example, you get three Cha Gio rolls for $8, this is ridiculous. The Pho prices are around $14/$15 a bowl, although very large, just a tad overpriced. Service is a mess. I think they are working out their process - however, my wife received her food 8-min before I did. They brought us out appetizer order twice and we had to tell them we already received it. They proceeded to do the same for another table. Not enough to keep me away but certainly worth the mention. Also, you pay AND tip before the meal. Really dislike this model for a sit down restaurant as tipping is for service. How would I know how much to tip before the service is over? All-in-all the food quality would bring me back but I think I may give them some time to work out the logistics. read more

Really tasty Pho. A little sweeter than I prefer, but still very yummy. Very fresh herbs and add-ins. VERY fast service. Their spring rolls are also fresh and delicious. My very picky 7 year old really likes the vermillion that has the egg rolls. This kid is difficult to get to eat much of anything beyond chicken nuggets. He loves dipping the noodles in what I presume is fish sauce. He loves the egg rolls. Put it another way he ate and didn't talk for around 15 minutes. If you know my son, that he would concentrate so hard on eating, and actually NOT talk for that long, you would realize how amazing this is. My wife gets one that is like that, but it has beef and shrimp. Holy cow, that is DELICIOUS. Personally, I'm not a big egg roll fan, but my wife and as I pointed out, my son love them here. Oh, I ordered a boba the other day, and it was really good too. It has a nice ambiance, easy to talk. Nothing too fancy. One of my favorite spots in town. I do think there is better pho in town, but not close. The staff has always been very friendly. The guy behind the counter seems to always have a smile on his face and is super responsive. Im sorry to say but it was the worse Pho I ever tried. The taste of the soup was bitter like you taste a very concentrated pho soup powder. They don't use any Vietnamese spices. We came in and spent a hour and a half here. We've been here before and food was good. I am half Vietnamese and few up eating this kind of food. We came in and they forgot my wife's dish. I had to ask about it after a hour. They were rushed it and it tasted terrible. It was clearly rushed and tasted way different. I asked them to just give me a sandwich and they said they could do that. At the end they charged me and said they couldn't not charge me cause I touched it. My wife and I both got the combo bun bowls and they were delicious! We also had the glazed pork fresh rolls and they were good. The pork was a little over cooked but not enough to really detract from the meal. The service was very fast and very friendly! We will totally be coming back! I am so confused by the negative reviews. Just went today at the recommendation of several people and had an incredible experience! Very clean, and friendly servers. We were not directed to order, pay, and tip at the counter like the other reviews state. It was a normal sit down meal. I got the matcha milk tea and the regular size northern-style beef pho. If you like ginger, this one's for you. Portions are very generous. Our food came within 10 minutes and tables were bussed quickly even though they were busy. Will definitely be returning! read more

I've been visiting Idaho for a good 50 years now and I can remember when the height of variety in restaurants was home fried vs. hash brown potatoes with your breakfast. I kid, but there was not much in the way of other cuisines. Now, I see damn near everything available which is pretty cool to see. Pho Nomenal is an example of how things have changed. The only knock was the ordering process. It's clear you have to order at the counter but one of the staff took us to a table and handed us menus so it looked like they would come and take our order. Instead, they came back in a few minutes and told us to order at the counter. No biggie, but a bit odd. Not only is Pho Nomenal solid Vietnamese food, they offer some options you don't typically see, e.g. Northern style pho with ginger and scallions and fish sauce wings (two things I ordered because they're favorites of mine). Overall, the food was really tasty. We especially enjoyed the different types of spring rolls - another thing you typically see in two variants but here there were four IIRC. This was our first visit to Pho Nomenal, a landing I was looking forward to after hearing of their recent opening. I was a regular to the prior Pho business at this location but they unfortunately closed .. clearly opening the door for this new group to take up the baton ! The first thing I noticed on walking in the door was that all orders were now taken from the front counter .. and you paid up front, change for me. Not a huge fan of this as I like to tip based on my server (vs. when paying) and the dining experience (guess you can still leave money on the table if so inclined). The atmosphere inside was warm and inviting, lots of seating places and the site was clean and ready for customers (no empty dishes left on the tables). Friendly crew, both on arrival and departure, we liked that aspect. Once we ordered the food at the counter, it arrived at our table fairly quickly, say 5 minutes tops, looking inviting. I ordered the small bowl of beef Pho, a pretty standard "go to" for me when going to a first visit Pho shop. My wife was my co-eater and she ordered the Chicken Noodle bowl. Both deliveries looked good visually on arrival but unfortunately that is where the joy took a fairly abrupt nose dive. My Pho was fairly bland at first taste, needing a large amount of table additives to make it more flavorful, even at that it was average. The bowl came with both sliced beef and meatballs chunks (a bit odd, the meatballs seemed like more of a pork product in taste, they were very compact aka pressed and were quartered from what seemed to be a compressed ball product - tasted more like a hot dog in a funny kind of way .. a bit of head scratcher). The beef wasn't the usual thin sliced product I was used to but a thicker cut which had more of a roast beef taste which was not to my liking. The accompaniment plate was missing cilantro, a bummer for me as I like that in my Pho (could have possibly asked for it but did not) . The soup also had some of the fat/gelatin from the bones in it as well, for me not a huge deal but not a normal find. My wife's Chicken noodle bowl was fairly average, a good amount of chicken in it topped with peanuts but the meat tasted like it was previously cooked and was definitely over seasoned and a bit dry (salty). Usually a plate cleaner when served, this time my wife had leftovers she left behind, never a good sign. At the end of the day, average spot. Would I return for a 2nd go at the menu, nope will pass. read more

You know a place is good when you go back the next day. Super-friendly staff made sure we understood the menu and what to know about pho. The sweetest man rn our soups to our table the first day. And our takeout order was beautifully boxed up for us so the noodles weren't mushy. My teenager is a fan of the rocket shrimp and my husband gave 5 stars for the veggie spring rolls. (A bit expensive at $9 for 2, but worth it). If the balance on the 5-spice blend can be worked out for the vegan pho that would be great. It was too strong. But it's a minor issue. read more

I don't like these kitschy puns in the names of pho restaurants. Now that I'm done being a cranky old man I'll get to the nitty gritty: PN is an acceptable Vietnamese restaurant. I got the choose your own pho ($13.49, which would have been a total ripoff pre Covid 19) and a serving of cha gio-- my usual. The sign outside said to order at the counter and the girl there barely registered my existence-- perhaps a little more rude than I'm accustomed to, but hey whatever. There was the usual giant TV with heartfelt, desultory sad Vietnamese music playing and somewhat fancier finish than what I've come to expect. My cha gio was served up by an equally perfunctory dude in jeans, a t shirt, and a trucker hat and it was plasma hot fresh out of the fryer. It tasted great and was appropriately cooked. I guess one criticism is that they scrimp on the vegetables that come with it and even the sauce was pretty minimal; I had to impose on the counter girl for more which she did efficiently, if petulantly. The pho came and it was pretty good. Much better than 208 or pho real, less sweet than pho Nguyen, probably a little one dimensional. Could have used more aromatic stuff like cilantro etc. The noodles were fragile but as I mixed up my soup they responded well and don't break as much as I thought they would. There was plenty of meat and veggies so I'm glad they didn't repeat the error of the cha gio. I hope the owners are reading this review because I have something specific to recommend. The sriracha is in a ketchup squeeze bottle like you'd see in a school cafeteria or at a local burger stand. No biggie but as I picked up the bottle I could see that the contents were more liquidy /thinner that traditional sriracha so I thought maybe it had settled and gave the bottle a good shake. Yes, yes, I know this was my own damn fault and a 50 year old guy should have known better, but I guess I'm used to the sealing screw nozzles on traditional sriracha bottles so I shook it and sriracha splashed on my shirt and the paper I was reading. So my suggestion is this: invest in some better squeeze bottles. All in all I'm happy to give PN a third or fourth place behind Nguyen, baguette deli, and pho le, miles ahead of the other pho restaurants in the valley. Welcome addition and I look forward to sampling the other menu items soon. read more

This is the best Pho I have found in Idaho! Taste 4.8/5 - This pho is authentic, fresh, and very well seasoned. Price 4.3/5 - 13.50 for regular, and 15 for very large! Service 4.5/5 - This is not a traditional sit down style where a server comes and takes your order. You order at the counter, and then sit down and they bring it to you. It's efficient, and they are kind when helping you. Atmosphere 5/5 - It's a spacious restaurant, with a very peaceful vibe. Lots of seating! It's far from crammed and hectic. Definitely one of my favorite pho places around!! Their passion fruit tea is SUPER sweet but I buy it, take it home and fill my 64 oz water bottle with it and voila! Perfect drink that lasts me all day! The pho is great. Soup is on the sweeter side but a little lime does the trick. We have eaten in and ordered to go. Meat variety and portions are good.
