Went for Pho, not donuts this time. The noodle soup was good. I was less than impressed with my barely warm broiled pork/vermicelli dish and I've had better egg rolls out of the frozen section at the grocery store. Pho would get 2 stars, Donuts 3. Can't give a 2 1/2. Just stick to donuts or soup when you go. Service was effecient and friendly. They also had fresh lemonade. read more

oooh! A Pho place close to home! Maybe we wont have to go all the way across town to Golden Flower or SK Noodle for tasty Pho?! Uh no. Not here. It was too bland. Missing that flavor layer that I expect from my beef pho. Also, interesting that they serve a different cut of meat than I am used to. It said "Filet Mignon" but it seemed more along the lines of the beef and broccoli beef. Oh well. In a pinch this place will do. I did like my daughters "americanized" sweet and sour chicken. My wife got the noodle bowl and it seemed tasty enough. We probably wont be going back with all of the other choices in the area for Chinese. However....I may find myself walking here for Pho some evening seeing that it's within 2 miles of the house. And they actually put cucumber in the rice noodle dish! read more

My family stepped in for a meal here after driving past it for years thinking of it as a doughnut shop. Inside is small but the tables are packed tight, so more people can fit than you would think. By 6pm it was hopping but at 5pm it was completely empty. They offer takeout so during our meal, many people came in and out of the door for their delicious-smelling meal on the go. The place is very basic, not much in terms of decoration or ambience. But they have a counter of doughnuts staring at you while you eat. It's not for the weak-willed... those doughnuts look delectable. Our service was a little below average. Once we had ordered we didn't get much more service, which for me means water refills. The staff was friendly and efficient. Now for the food. They offer pho and Chinese food. The portions are amazing! Our table had pho, General Tsao's chicken, and a beef dish. They were all large sized dishes. I am all about that, because we ended up having dinner and lunch for the next day! The pho and beef dish were pretty good. No complaints! However, my husband always orders General Tsao's chicken, and the meal here was his least favorite version ever. I'm sure in the future we will stop in for a takeout pho. Pho Noodle - #4 - Vietnamese Near Me - Reno, Nevada

You know what. This spot is actually very fair. Before I continue I have to say, I don't think there is 100% true authentic Asian food in the northern Nevada area. Having said that, this place is actually very fair. I had rice noodles with shrimp. I didn't eat the whole thing because they give you quite a bit of food but it still was fair. I didn't take this one to go because this type of food in particular doesn't taste good if it is not fresh I don't think. I am curious to try the noodles because although I don't think there is authentic Asian food in town, there is one place that really just is quite up to par with its noodles. Some places might make them too greasy or have some thick noodles. Next time I'm in I will definitely be trying heir noodles. The small egg roll things are pretty good. An all time favorite is the coffee that drains with the condensed milk. Hard to mess that one up overall so it's pretty good. One thing I should mention, kind of odd but anyways, the pho also sells donuts, like it's an actual donut shop as well. If you're looking for large portions, cheap prices, and absolutely delicious Chinese/Vietnamese food, Donut Bistro/Pho Noodle is your place! The menu has many different items, all of which are so tasty and able to be customizable. The owners are very nice and friendly! A few of my favorite/must have items include: Pork & veggie potstickers - wrapper is thick, chewy, and pan fried perfectly! The sauce is tangy and sweet and works absolutely great with the potstickers. A must have every time! Pho - I've had the rare beef, beef ball, and veggie pho. The broth is unreal! Rich and deep in flavor, not greasy at all. Toppings are great and noodles always cooked perfectly. Comes with the usual (basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, lime) on the side. Black bean chow fun - I literally crave this once a week! The noodles are thick and chewy (my favorite), Black bean sauce is salty and thick. I usually get the house chow fun, or get it with chicken and broccoli. Yum!! Walnut shrimp - prawns are HUGE! Batter is pretty light for being a deep fried dish. Mayo sauce yummy with candied walnuts. A signature dish done well! Boba tea is yummy. The donuts are always a great sweet option for dessert. I have no idea what I ordered except that I order soup and a noodle dish, both small. My bill was $14 and change. For under $20 I got enough for for four people! And everything has a wonderful taste and tastes fresh. They also provided me with chop sticks, a soup spoon and fork, hoisin sauce and sriracha without asking. I usually love Vietmese food. I grew up in San Francisco so I have eaten the best Asian cuisine. Today I noticed this Cafe where they have two signs on their door, Donuts and Pho Noodles. Very odd...they are using a small space to sell what ever they can and make a big profit by filling up your plate with lettuce! I ordered the 'Chicken with Vermicelli noodles' and was amazed at the large portion of iceberg lettuce. The chicken was in scrap-sized portions. To be perfectly honest, it looked like they literally took leftovers off of their customer's plates and put them on my plate! I asked where are the vegetables that are supposed to come with the entree' and I was told the lettuce is the vegetable! I am very disappointed and feel as though I was completely over charged! Stopped in here on Tuesday, after hearing that Donut Bistro was now serving pho. The day before, my co-worker and I had driven past here on South Meadows, and saw the street side banner advertising Pho Noodle, and were wondering where they were serving Pho - definitely would not have guessed it was in Donut Bistro, but Tuesday morning, a co-worker brought donuts in to the office, and the menu for the pho, so we went and checked it out. Bit of a contrast when you come in - the counter area looks like a standard donut place - a refrigerated display case, coffee making equipment, and a counter to order from. The other 2/3 of the front of the house is standard Chinese restaurant seating - used, worn wood chairs with that dark red lacquered finish, with a standard mix of booths, two tops, and four tops. I had the bun bo hue - which surprisingly comes in a small and a large - I had a small for 7 or 8 bucks. Lemon grass wasn't too prominent in the broth, but it did include Vietnamese sausage, blood cubes, and beef - no pig knuckle though, and was definitely a very mild broth. I think this is probably the worst BBH I've had in Reno, but it's still okay. It's less than a mile from the office, and definitely is a nice new option to have. I'm curious to try some of their Chinese options to see how they are - in any case, a nice addition to the restaurants in that part of town, and should mix up my lunch choices a bit. read more

Let me start by just saying that the General Tsao's Chicken is TO. DIE. FOR. Absolutely loved it. I should have taken a picture to help convince you. ;) We also got one of the beef rice noodle soups and it was delicious as well. For that reason as well as how insanely fast the food came out and the prompt friendly service I felt like I had to leave my own review to combat the lower ones on here! I will say that it does seem like a small business and our server was the only one working at the time, so I can see how service could possibly get slow like others have said if it was busy, but we certainly did not experience that. I will also admit that the atmosphere is not that of some fancy restaurant, but neither are the prices and if you go there knowing that, then you can just enjoy your delicious food for what it's worth! read more

Very good food, and very convenient. On cold winter nights in Reno Nevada, it is the perfect little place to stop in for some good Chinese food. Be aware, the portions are very big!!! Beware!!!Good food but not hygienic. Specially at this time during covid, there's no good practice. I was observing the servers the whole time. They wipe the table with a moist towel only after each customer, which they grab in the back that is just sitting on a table. One wears gloves and the other has no gloves, but there's cross contamination everywhere. They will grab the cash money with the same bare hands or gloves, then grab the wet towel that has been used, then grab some veggies (mint, beansprout,etc) to put on a plate and serve to customers. In all this, they're just nonstop, no hand washing or gloves replacement in between. My friend then ended up telling me, i would never come back to this place and ended up not eating her food. read more

Love this place. The pho is really good and I've gotten the vermicelli the last few times we've gone. My honey loves the random donuts that they have. He's partial to the maple glaze w/ bacon donut. Too sugary for me, but he sure does love it. They have boba here too for their drinks. They give a very generous amount of boba in the drinks. read more

My first Pho experience and I loved it. Been here twice, and enjoyed both the pho and the lemon grass chicken and rice. Would I come here for a date night? Probably not but I can see popping in here during the day for a nice hot bowl of pho....especially when it get colder out side. Once meal we did order to go and I was a bit disappointment on how they just threw the food in there. I give them a C- for that. But the food was delicious. read more

It was not busy. About 2 weeks ago spring rolls specifically brought us to this location. The spring rolls had way to much lettuce in them. They were giant and lumpy, They didn't taste very good either. Next they forgot about us or took a very long time to bring us the rest of our food. I sat there, dwelling on the not so good spring rolls, looking at the dirty dishes around the dinning room for at least 20 minutes. Finally they brought us our food with our check in the same transaction. I usually enjoy when someone shares their knowledge with me. But the lady who took our order at the cash register was arguing about what kind of sauce we wanted and didn't really care what I was actually asking for. I prefer to drive a little far for a much different experience. But maybe it was just a bad day? read more

We came in at lunch on a Tuesday, it was pretty full which is always a good sign. It didn't take long to realize that there was only a cook and a server per the size of the restaurant it made sense, but you always worry. The server was fantastic. He was kind, generous and very helpful he was running around and it has been quite steady. Most servers in his place are cranky and short. 5 stars on his service. He even boxed up our food! One of the reasons I love pho ga is because of the deep flavors of star anise, clove, and onions that flavor the chicken broth. This broth was not flavored and tasted like it was simply chicken broth. The chicken was very tender and tasty as were the noodles. After adding sufficient soy sauce and sriracha it did get more flavorful however. The spring rolls were good. Peanut a sauce was good but had no chunks of peanut that I appreciate as well. read more

I ordered take out this evening, it is with out a doubt the worst meal I have ever had. The Sesame Chicken was so hard we could hardly cut it with a knife. I have eaten Sesame Chicken all over the country and this was the worst...no flavor and not even sure it was chicken. The Sweet and Sour Pork also was flavorless. The best part of the meal was the Pork fried Rice and it was good. We had to throw the entire meal away it was disgusting. Think twice about eating here. I will have to say they have good donuts. I am amazed this place doesn't have a higher star rating! To start off, their donuts are great. Get them early in the morning when they are still fresh. Like any donut place, the longer they sit, the less fresh they are, that's common sense. Price of the donuts are standard, 6 for about 6 bucks. For their "main meals". Their soups are amazing! I recently ordered egg drop soup and Pho Ga (I think that's what it was called. It was the chicken one). I ordered these to go. I waited maybe 15 minutes, tops, and got all my food in a box for easy carry. The larges are huge! More than enough for two servings per container. The egg drop had a significant amount of egg and tofu. So much egg, the broth appeared to be thicker than it was. The Pho came all separated. This is a good thing. The broth was in once container, the chicken and noodles in another, and bean sprouts, lime, jalapeno in another. This let me make my own bowl (or in my case 2 bowls). Everything was piping hot when I got back to work with it. And stayed that way for a good hour. That may have had something to do with the box they put it in, but either way, it was awesome. This is definitely a go to place for to go Pho and donuts. When it comes to the donuts, just remember to use common sense, get them in the morning. read more
