Yummmmmmm. Fun fact: when I came here, I was actually in labor. Had to get in a delicious meal before heading to the hospital because we all know hospital food blows. Ordered a chicken pho and damn, was it good!! The broth was rich... the noodles were perfectly cooked... and there was a healthy serving of sprouts, basil, jalapeños and lime to add in as well. The service was wonderful and insanely fast (and that's coming from the perspective of someone who wasn't trying to waste too much time and end up having a baby in the parking lot). Ordered two banh mi's - the combination and the bbq chicken. Wow, best banh mi I've had in a long time! 100x better than Lee's! Both were SO TASTY, but I preferred the combination personally. The bread was perfect. Not too chewy where your jaws get tired by the end of the meal and not too crusty where the roof of your mouth is destroyed either. The bread is often the dealbreaker/maker of a sandwich and it really took this sandwich from good to great. They put the perfect amount of soy sauce so the sandwich is nice and flavorful. Veggies were also excellent. Can't wait to come back for more banh mi, and to get other dishes on their menu! Service is not that great but since I did takeout, it wasn't a big deal. Definitely come here for your banh mi cravings! (Tip: If you like your bread on the soft side, keep it in the wrapper for 10 minutes. As the saying goes, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". I can certainly attest to that today after eating pho here. I had written a review previously on this place stating that the pho here is somewhat mediocre. Truthfully, the broth is very weak and not as flavorful as the ones I have had at other pho restaurants. Well, I guess the lady who runs the place read the review and recognized me because after eating here today, I felt sick after leaving and actually had the runs after eating a bowl of chicken pho here. I should have suspected something might be up after I ordered my bowl as the young man who delivered the bowl to my table had this stupid grin on his face. The lady who runs the restaurant had given me this look too when I walked in like she recognized me and didn't offer a smile. Once again, the broth of the chicken pho was so weak and hardly had any flavor at all. A can of Campbell's chicken soup has more flavor than this bowl of pho sold here. I believe pho is supposed to be made with beef broth and hearty flavor usually comes from simmering the broth for hours extracting the beef flavor from the meat. You could tell this wasn't the case with this pho. Funny thing is I even checked in on my Foursquare app on my phone and a buddy of mine named Lance, who happens to be Vietnamese and knows all the pho places in the South Bay made a comment on my check-in: "That place is tiny. Pho is not good and pricey." Even as I write this review, I'm feeling very thirsty which I suspect is due to the mega amounts of MSG that is added to try to give it the flavor it is lacking from preparing this dish the authentic way. Well, lady, you are miffed and think that you got the last laugh but there's another saying in that "the pen is mightier than the sword". If you are willing to do something like that to a customer simply because they wrote an honest review of your restaurant then you are certainly not worthy of staying in business. You have a cruel heart and believe me, you will pay for what you did because now you have this review to contend with. I don't know how you can sleep at night but then again you must be a very lonely and wretched person because no one would like someone as unscrupulous and evil as you. Thank God I'm a very healthy man and can take something like this. God forbid you try to do this on someone with a weaker continence or sickly who might even get seriously ill or even die from your pathetic attempt at revenge. This is a serious matter and will be reported to the county department of health. Guess what, I'll be okay but unfortunately for you, you will be losing a lot of business due to what you did so I hope you think about this and change your evil ways. It's for your own sake and the sake of other humans living on the planet. So if you are reading this review, I would warn you stay away from this restaurant. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened as another reviewer said he was sick for 48 hours. Seriously, there are way better restaurants near by where you can get pho like, for example, Number Nine in Hermosa Beach and Pho Show in Redondo Beach which are both just a few miles away. Don't patronize a place like this that is vindictive and would stoop to doing something harmful against a customer. There's another saying that goes like this: "What goes around comes around" or similar to that "you shall reap what you sow". Another random phoventure turned out great! I just happened to be in the area so I decided to drop by and give this place a shot. The pho gods were definitely with me, as the large combo pho bowl I ordered had some of the tastiest broth I've had to date. It was very savory and flavorful, with not too much of any one ingredient to overpower the rest. Plus there was plenty of tripe and other meats in the soup. A+. Another cool thing is that the soup spoons they give you have a little hook on the end, so the spoon doesn't drop into the pho if you place it on the edge of your bowl. It seems like this happens to me every time I have so so I really liked that little touch. The restaurant itself is tiny, with a few modest decorations hanging from the walls. It has about ten or twelve two-person tables total, so just a few people can fit in there during lunch. Fortunately when I arrived there was not a wait and I got to sit down right away. I agree with other posters about the service and friendly staff, however, I disagree with the overall review theme that this place has good Vietnamese food. Based on the overall positive reviews, I came here with my relatives and ordered a variety dishes including pho, banh mi, pork rice dish, spring rolls, and egg rolls. The pho was bland and nothing to rave about. The banh mi was sub-par and the pork rice dish tasted like soggy bacon. The spring and egg rolls were edible, but nothing to highlight. Basically, as a two-star rating, this place is 'meh' and I definitely had better. I guess if you have a craving to interact with friendly staff and experience good customer service, without consideration for good food, then come here. Otherwise, move on. read more

Started with the spring rolls. $3.50. 2 small rolls.... And I mean small rolls filled with lettuce, vermacilli noodles, Thai basil, shrimp and pork. They were fresh though but so petite. Served with a peanut hoisen sauce. Got a large chicken pho. The chicken breast meat was not dry. The broth, is okay. Clean tasting, not oily, but bland. I needed hoisen and sriracha definitely. Plenty though. $10. I tried rare steak pho. I felt the soup was sweeter than the chicken. Thought that was weird. Shared a pork banh mi. $6. Filled with plenty of meat and veggies. The pork is well marinated and very tender. The vermicilli bowls are plentyful, I got the pork with egg roll. I ordered number 14 which was just a combo of all the various meats in pho. Service was fine and the staff was all smiles and was very attentive. When the pho came it i had a sip of the broth and my first thought was WOW this is really salty.. i wanted for that beefy salty flavor for comfort but was disappointed.. it was just really salty, not beefy. I kept going just because i wanted pho so bad but with every bite of the noodles and the beef in there i almost wanted to drink a glass of water. MSG OVERLOADED half way through and i stop. A very small place in a strip mall. Came here around 1 pm on a weekday so no wait at all. There are about 8 tables, with 5 sits 1 or 2. The front door doesn't close all the way so there's a draft. It smells a little too. I had the large combo pho. Oddly the option was small or large, no medium size. They don't have all the basic condiments like salt and pepper. They only had Hosin and the roost sauce. The portion of meat was minimal. Broth was okay. Somewhat watered down on flavor but also don't have that spoiled beef taste or smell. Had heartburn or something while eating it which isn't normal for me. I can't say I'd go back here. Nothing really made me want to go back. I would if nearby and starving. Hurray! There is finally a pho place that's within walking distance for us! They just opened this past Saturday so there were a couple bumps they are working through. We actually tried to eat there last night at about 7pm but they had sold out of their entire menu. Tonight, we were able to squeeze in just under the line. We started out with their spring rolls and then I had their vermicelli noodles with grilled pork while my husband had the pho with rare beef. While we were enjoying the yummy food several others were turned away because they were sold out again. The spring rolls were very good and at $2.99 for 2 rolls, they are the least expensive I've seen anywhere. Please don't raise the prices after seeing this! Both our main dishes were a solid 3 stars. The pho broth was fragrant and light. One small detail that I love is that they use ceramic bowls. Most other places use plastic which doesn't hold heat very well. Our bowl of pho was still piping hot at the end of the meal. The vermicelli with grilled pork had very generous portions of meat and veggies. The only weakness is that the pork doesn't quite have the smoky flavor that I love. There was plenty of flavorful lemongrass and garlic in the marinade but it could have used some more bbq goodness. The service was fantastic. I didn't get a chance to ask the owner her name but she was really nice and super efficient. If this place were in Westminster, they would probably be more in the 3 star range in terms of the food. But since we can walk here and the service is so friendly, they earn a solid 4 stars in my book. Something tells me we'll be back a lot. FYI: They were having problems with their credit card machine so for these next few days, maybe bring some cash just in case. read more

This is one of our Favorite places for PHO, our usual routine is Take Out. 2 orders of Chicken PHO especially on colder nights! Yum! Their whole menu is amazing. Only issue we have, is the amount of plastic used to wrap up the take out orders. We are trying to decrease our plastic usage...especially being how close we are in proximity to the ocean.
