Sounds like a typical chain but this place is so much more. First of all, service is fantastic. These guys are quick, efficient and super friendly despite the craze. Both the beef and chicken broth are delicious - they have that clean taste you want with your noodles (which were chewy and bouncy, not a pile of mush). Self serve toppings - jalapeño, cilantro, lime, etc. Rice paper rolls were some of the best I've had in Austin despite the lack of herbs in them - grilled shrimp were fresh and tasty. Bubble tea came out quick and unfortunately the boba were hard and clumped together but the fruity green tea was super refreshing and not overly sweet. Very happy overall. read more

The pho broth is delicious and is definitely one of my favorites in Austin. The meat wasn't as soft as the other place I love but it was good enough. The food is simply delicious with right consistency, flavor and presentation which I just adore. They have a clean, organized low frill functional facility. The first time I came here I didn't think much of it but after the second time and forward, I always left super satisfied and happy :) Before talking about the food, I would like to say how much I appreciate them having a self serve area for vegetables. The customers can get more onions, cilantro, jalapeños, etc if they want. They also have to-go boxes out next to the soda machine and its just super convenient. You order and pay before you sit down and the food is brought out to you. The food comes out very quickly and its really fresh. Their pho comes in one size and very filling. Their broth is on point and not too greasy. They give you a lot of meat and I always have it left over. The Vermicelli is so big! All the ingredients are super fresh and its just so worth. Make sure to try the Pork Belly one! It may be one of the more expensive one but trust me, you won't regret it ! I haven't tried their Banh Mi but looking at others order it, it is so big and my friend has told me that its one of the best Banh Mi they've had Overall, this place is a 10/10! read more

We ordered chicken with veggies pho, shrimp pho, lemongrass beef w/rice. The portions were great. The food was beautifully packaged with care - very sanitary & no spills. There was an assortment of condiments, though my lime wedge was juiceless & there was little to no cilantro garnish. And, the pho broth was a little bland compared to other bone broth pho that I've had. I had to season it with Sriracha to get some flavor in there. Also, didn't dig the housemade fish sauce; I like fish sauce but this one was not for me. Still, the grilled lemongrass beef was delicious! My hubby always prefers any other protein to beef, but was really impressed with the beef, which said a lot. The service was efficient, my order was ready when they said it would be despite the gaggle of orders & long line. When I picked up my order, it seemed they had at least twenty other orders ready for pick up. My one complaint about pickup was that although they offered curbside on the online order form & had spaces marked for curbside, they didn't actually come out for curbside. I called the number for curbside when I arrived, it went straight to a full voicemail box - I had to go inside to grab my curbside. I suspect the regulars knew this, but I didn't. We ordered the following - Pho Rare Steak which looked good and the broth was good. Pho Won Ton was basic but good Pho Won Ton Works with shrimp, chicken. For the additional $0.50 recommend the Won Ton Works Banh Mi Sandwich with Grilled Pork which was generous in meat. Service is quick and friendly. Not sure if this was related, but my daughter got sick that night and experienced stomach pains all night until she threw up the next morning with bits of beef. just make sure the meat is cooked enough and is fresh. Pho Please is one of my top two Pho places in central Austin. The service is quick and the location is always clean. They have a fun "challenge" bowl for $35 that gorges you with several quarts of broth and 2lbs of noodles. Overall, the broth is rich but is what I'd describe as "clean". It's not as fatty or heavy as traditional pho broth but still retains the core flavor. They have a side condiment bar with all you can add onions, cilantro, jalapenos, and lime. They also do this fun thing every anniversary (early Feb.) where they have $1 pho and boba. You usually have to wait in line for at least an hour but you'll see a lot of college kids waiting in line for some cheap noodles. read more

The banh mi is HUGE! It's not the best banh mi that I've ever had, but it ticked the boxes. I ordered from here with an Uber Eats coupon so I bought a bunch of sides to try. Unfortunately the sides here aren't great. I liked the bao, but it wasn't the best bao. Crab wontons were not good, but it's my fault for ordering them at a Vietnamese restaurant. The big offender was the spring rolls. They only contained meat, vermicelli and shredded lettuce. Weird! I am pretty sure that's against the law. I think you have to put carrot & daikon in there somewhere. I'll probably try the pho some time, but my search for a good, non-North banh mi continues. read more

Pho Please is a great place for a modern take on Viet food. They have Pho and Bao's that are really good. The Bao's I really don't find to be authentic as they're not really Viet food, but the Pho itself is nice. They have a self serve topping bar with cilantro, bean sprouts, basil, jalapeno, etc. for you to pick your own toppings. I love that since I really love toppings. They have great ambiance and presentation. The pho itself I do find to be a little more on the salty/MSG side, but it is tasty and a hefty portion. it is pretty consistent from time to time and it is always a great meal to follow a night out. Came here Saturday for lunch with my dance partner/friend at 1pm. You order at the counter and they assign you a table there. I liked this efficiency- no more waiting 30 minutes for your waiter/waitress to take your order! Food: both of us got the double protein bowl. The difference was that I got beef/shrimp and my friend got beef/pork. He definitely got a lot more meat with the pork than I did with shrimp- they only gave me 4-5 shrimps while his bowl was covered with protein. Jealousy is a hangry Asian girl. Overall it's a good place and I liked the DIY herbs/jalapeño bar and the containers of hoisin sauce, but seems like it's trendier than a no-fuss pho joint. I usually hate pho. I don't like beef broth and overall it has a weird taste to me. I was so glad to see that this menu had chicken broth. I ordered the chicken broth with chicken and steamed veggies and a matcha green tea. The place is pretty crowded so I was rather hopeful. It did not disappoint! The broth did not have any of the weird flavors I usually hate in pho. My BF got the bon bo hue and my friend got the pho please. Both agreed it was good. I think this place does not serve very traditional Vietnamese food. I'm not saying it in a bad way. I think it stays true to the core of the dish but adds more of an American twist. I think it allows more people to enjoy Vietnamese food who aren't accustomed to the traditional Vietnamese flavors. The matcha green tea was also delicious. I thought it would either be too bitter or a Starbucks copy cat. It was not either! It was almost like a milk tea version. It was a hair too sweet for me but nothing to complain about. My BF got the Vietnamese coffee and he quite enjoyed it. It was a little too bitter for me but it was still delicious. The aesthetics in here are also super cute. This was one of the first pho places I've went to when I first came to UT. They have a great atmosphere with lots of seating and can get packed during the weekends. I usually get the Pho Please here when I get Pho, as it basically the equivalent of a Pho Dac Biet/Special everywhere else. They definitely provide a good noodle to meat ratio in their pho and the broth is very good as well. The only thing that is rather peculiar to me is their bo vien/meatballs - they just taste a bit off to me, but maybe it's just me. They also serve banh mi and vermicelli. I only have tried their pork belly banh mi, which is super good and the pork belly is cooked to perfection. I did not try the vermicelli, but their salad grill combo, which takes the elements of a vermicelli bowl but replaces the noodles with salad. It had a hefty portion of meat and greens and actually was a bit hard to finish due to the amount of food (easily can be two meals!). These are the two dishes that I could definitely come back here for if I wasn't craving pho. Great restaurant with quality food and service, you definitely will not be disappointed with any dish you try here! read more

The service was amazing too. They don't have servers since you order from a counter, but they even came around and refilled water when they weren't busy. Pre-Covid: I would come here when I was craving Pho and the best thing is that you'd order and within 60 seconds of sitting down the bowl would be in front of you. Talk about instant satisfaction! Just checked this place out today. We got the vermicelli noodles with grilled shrimp and the seafood wonton pho. The vermicelli was super yummy! Will definitely return for this dish. I think we will probably pass on the pho next time (it was less flavorful than the vermicelli), but it was still solid. After asking the person taking our order, she said her favorite thing on the menu is the beef broth pho --so consider trying that! Also, they have a toppings bar that I loaded up on before taking my vermicelli to go --definitely recommend doing this!The toppings make a world of a difference. It was good, but nothing really stood out to me that much. What really got me about this place was the excellent service and the self serve toppings bar at the back, which I thought was really convenient. The interior space here is very clean and modern, and from what I've seen this place is usually pretty busy. My only complaint is some of the tables are really close together and it is impossible to get out from your seat without someone having to move. People aren't eating out as often due to COVID and I want to make sure that this place remains open forever. Everything was delicious and our portion sizes were very generous. The ingredients were incredibly high quality; especially for the price point. I got the pho and the rare steak is the freshest pho rare steak I've ever had. Tendons were on point. My boyfriend really enjoyed his banh mi and was pleasantly surprised by how much protein was included. We split some chicken spring rolls and they were delicious, fully stuffed, and super fresh as well. As a bonus, Pho Please has a very easy to use website for placing online orders, complete with pictures that accurately depict what you're going to get. The pho was served in a huge bowl with tons of baby bok choy, several wontons and lots of chicken and shrimp + TONS of noodles. Mainly leaving four stars because of price and whitewashing of menu. Pho is usually not this expensive and this is literally the only place where I've had to order it in English. The person taking my order the first time was Viet so he understood my order, thankfully. I ordered off the menu because I usually get pho bo vien (meatball) and it's not one of the regular options, and I also got the pork belly bánh mì bao. But the second time I went, I ordered only the pork belly bánh mì bao and the person taking my order wasn't Viet. She didn't know that bánh mì referred to the sandwich and adding bao referred to the steam bun... I really like the food here, but I feel like they're removing the authenticity of the food by removing accents and the Viet names of the dishes from their menu. Speaking strictly about the food, pho broth tasted interesting. Maybe it's a family recipe, because it's good, but something about it tastes different than all the others I've had. Including broths my family makes. The pork belly bao is freaking fantastic. Get it. If you get only one thing here, get this. Green Thai tea is good, fun to watch as you mix. Staff is friendly and I love the decor. You walk in and you can immediately smell the food of my people. Love it. Reminds me of my aunt's house during family getogethers.
