This place has some long history in the Bay Area, I think at least way back to 2001. I was told it was a good Vietnamese pho place back then. Fast forward 20+ years and this is now my second visit. On a Tuesday lunch hour this place is a bit empty, um... We are a big party so we got the attention and service quickly. Service of water is fast as well and our table was quickly loaded up with bean sprouts and the drink. The owner came quickly to take our order and he has his funny way of refusing us to help him double check our orders, as if we shouldn't be questioning his expertise. Food came quickly. For #20, the dry noodle, it was ok and some of us complained that it's too dry and needs more sauce. For rice plates, I tried #40 with grilled shrimps and pork chop. The grill was fine, the shrimp and pork has good grill flavor. The soup that comes with it tasted slightly funny, either the seasoning is off or not fresh. I stopped by this Pho spot for lunch today. I ordered the large number 13 lean well done brisket pho. The food came out fast, and I was done eating in 20 mins, so it's a great lunch spot, especially if you are in a time crunch. The food was delicious, and the serving size was a bit larger than I was expecting. However, the chili oil was pretty old on the table, and the hoisen sauce wouldn't come out of the bottle. It was crusted close. Also, the cashier did not enter the order in the register and my menu numbers did not match the receipt numbers and I was charged $1 more than the menu price and so was my friend who joined me. All in all, I would come back because of the food itself, but if they overcharge me again, then I probably won't be coming back. read more

Finally got to try this place. My mom lives across the street and always cooks at home, so whenever I visit I never get to try it ! But here for work and ordered it for pickup, was ready in only like 5 minutes, super fast. Got the #6 and the crab egg rolls. The pho was piping hot, meat look great, and plenty of Thai basil. The eggs rolls were also so crispy and I love dipping it into the fish sauce. There was only one piece of lettuce and it was wilted, maybe from the heat. I also got coconut water ($6 for 12oz, ouch). Only reason it got 4 stars was the wilted lettuce and overcharged coconut water. I also asked for a large order of the egg rolls so not sure why I only got 3. But the lady was so nice. Introducing the QUEEN of seafood pho in the Bay- Pho Queen! Honestly hu tieu (seafood pho) is pretty rare to find in most pho restaurants, and it's hard to get the flavor and ingredients right. Pho Queen is known for their seafood pho- a comforting, hearty bowl of assorted crab claws, shrimp, and thinly sliced pork on a bed of fresh rice noodles. The broth had absolutely no hint of MSG, and the freshness of the seafood and onions even gave the broth the most unique and subtle hint of sweetness that I have never tasted in any other bowl of pho I've tried. Beyond that, they even use REAL (and super fresh) snow crab claws!! Don't really know any other pho place that does this anymore (last time was like more than 10 years ago, and I know I'm totally aging myself here LOL) Personally, it was pretty sad to see how this family owned restaurant was suffering so heavily from the COVID-19 pandemic, especially since the usual lunch crowd from the nearby tech businesses are nonexistent now. Portions come with lots of piping hot soup, which I love! I mean even after adding bean sprouts it was still super hot and enjoyable on a chilly fall day. My husband ordered the bo kho (beef stew) which was decidedly on the lighter side but quite delicious (some places make it super sweet or tomatoey; this place felt like they mixed it with the regular pho broth, but it still tasted delicious.) I thought the service was super nice! Our server even gave my son a free bowl of chicken broth, which was so nice that I am seriously considering getting chicken pho next time. I left the restaurant feeling like I have been robbed. I ordered a large #6 (rare steak slices pho $20). The food was good but did not fit the criteria to be called a large. Large means to them is a bigger bowl and more broth. The noodles and meat portions stay the same for all sizes? So when you're 5 minutes into eating your large pho, you're already done with the main ingredients and have a bowl full of broth. There was only 5 rare steak slices and half a block of noodles! But honesty I always stick to same pho restaurant but this time I wanted to try different pho, finally found this place was delicious I give a rate of 8. Soup came out pepping hot, lots of portion. This was a medium sized. We order eggrolls and it was very good must have as a side. Service the gentlemen was serving us was nice and took our order very well especially when we was the second person in the door right when they are open. The restaurant is specious great for solo dining, couple,quad or even a group. I would definitely come back if I happen to be near the area. Please let's help this business grow thanks chef! I only come here for their #1 with rice noodles. I forget what it's called, but I order it dry (soup on the side). It has pork, snow crab claw, shrimp, and I add beef balls to it. It's my favorite dish and I have not encountered this magnificent dish anywhere else. For regular Pho, I go elsewhere. Feast your eyes (photo) and then go feast your mouths! :) I've lived in SJ for 4 years and been to Pho Queen countless times only to order this one dish 95% of the time (the 5% are variations of this dish without the claws- too lazy to break into them). This is our go to spot for local pho, rice plates, or vermicelli noodle bowls. We typically order the pho tai, bbq chicken/pork chop rice plate, or vermicelli w/ thin slices bbq pork and egg roll. The quality is consistent and delicious and prices are reasonable. They can accommodate large parties or to go orders , I don't think they are available on door dash last time I checked. Clean place and comfortable seating. They've been in business for more than 15 years. Unfortunately they are closed on Sundays. They have good pho here. They give you a good amount of pho with the medium size bowl, so you should be pretty hungry if you want to order the large size. Also they don't skimp on the meat either.
