The " wok Chee " 鍋氣is 100 % in their stir fry dishes . They select good quality of meats, fresh vegetables for ingredients. The prices are great and the portions are big . Our favorite dishes are : Stir fry chicken breast with Chinese broccoli Pan fry egg noodle with shredded pork and bean sprouts. You can modify it to 3 kids if shedded meats ( pork, chicken & ham ) Prawn with mixed vegetables or prawn in black bean sauce . Pan fry Chong fish 香煎䱽魚。 They have excellent service , very efficient and make you feel like you're eating at home. We were stuck on the high way for 20 minutes and came in 30 minutes before they close . They were very nice and did not rush us to leave even the time have passed 8:30 pm. Their business hours : Monday to Saturday 11 am to 8:30 pm . Sunday : closed . The restaurant is voted as the best Chinese restaurant in Sunnyvale on Google for 2025 . The food is delicious , very hearty portions with good prices . There is a parking lot connecting to the back door of the restaurant. If this is full then you can also find other street parking . My family and I have been coming here for years and never been disappointed. The service is always great, very friendly and the food is always delicious. For the first time last night, I tried their salt and pepper chicken wings and it was honestly SO good! One of my new favorites and I'll continue to be getting it. My wife and I met up with some friends at King Wah. A nice family restaurant that has been around for over 3 1/2 decades!!! A great cantonese-style restaurant with traditional and localized taste. Prawns in Spicy Szechuan Sauce (4/5). Mildly spicy chili sauce with minced bell peppers, garlic, and onions. Sweet & Sour Pork with Pineapple (4/5). Tender pork pieces battered and fried which still had a good crunch to it. The sauce was pretty spot on. Stirred-fried with colorful bell peppers, onions, and pineapple tidbit. My wife said they need to use better quality pineapples to which I also agreed on. Originally we wanted Tomato Beef Chow Mein, however they were out of tomatoes. That brought back memories of my dad's restaurant occasionally running out too. Anyways, we changed to Chicken Chow Mein (Hong Kong Style, 4.5/5). Tender and juicy white breast meat which was svelted very well. The thin egg noodles were perfectly pan-fried to a crispy yet soft noodle that soaked up the brown gravy. Delish! Steamed Pork Hash with Salted Fish (3.5/5 orgot to take pic). This dish takes about 25 minutes so order it right after sitting down. This was prepared a different way than we've had elsewhere as they also had a layer of Steamed egg at the bottom of the Pork hash. Have been coming to this restaurant since 1982 when I started working in the Silicon Valley. It was run by the current owner's aunt. It was the only decent Cantonese restaurant in the South Bay at the time. It's always nostalgic to come back and dine here. My all time favorite is their Crab Meat West Lake Beef Soup, it's always consistently delicious. Also like their Seafood with Fried Eggs which no other restaurant serves. The two of us shared these plus a Beef with Chinese Broccoli. Everything tasted good as usual and felt very comfortable in my stomach! Service was good and friendly as the owner knew and recognized us. The ambiance is very basic and comfortable, nothing fancy. Prices have gone up and are not cheap any more, but are still reasonable. A true gem in downtown Sunnyvale. We've past this place so many times while going to Crafthouse or Daily Donuts. We lucked out as it was one of the only restaurants in the area that was open on Christmas Day or didn't have an hour or longer wait. We ordered and food was ready within 30-45 minutes. The staff member who took my phone order was SUPER sweet and friendly. Made the experience that much more pleasant. We did a to-go order. Everything was delicious. Food was flavorful and wasn't oily. We decided on take out again. We got 5 dishes for 5 of us. Walnut prawns are delish, pork chop with pepper & salt had too much breading for us. The Mongolian beef did have spice to it and green bell peppers, onion and celery. That's a dish we may order again. The beef with Chinese broccoli (gai lan) was good. Chinese broccoli tastes a little bitter compared to bok choy, so we are divided on which we preferred. Sesame chicken had a bit too much breading too. It was simple but you could taste scallop and wok flavor. Beef and Eggplant - I imagined something heavy in soy sauce and sugar, but it wasn't so much. Good, we should be watching their sodium anyways. Pretty solid dish. Princess Chicken - First bite instantly made me think of Cluck-U chicken strips. My brother said the same out loud so that validated my insane thought. The flavor wasn't exactly the same, but the spirit was there. I'm will overlook the fact the chicken was overcooked. Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun and Chow Mein - Both were flavorful and well made, but short on the meat. They should increase the price by $1 or $2 and add more meat. Orange Chicken - Skip this dish. We got the minced beef porridge twice - flavorful, a lot of beef, and I love that they put slices of ginger. We recently compared their Woh Wonton Soup to a highly rated wonton restaurant in San Francisco Chinatown and let's just say there was NO comparison!!! Chinatown Woh Wonton Soup is far from "Woh"!!! Although, the wonton's were meaty enough, there was not much else to write about in comparison to King Wah's. You still cannot go wrong with King Wah's (to name a few): Dry Beef Chow Fun, Honey Walnut Prawns, Egg Tofu, Chinese Broccoli, Bok Choy & Mushrooms, Green Beans Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, Salt & Pepper Fish and Chrissy's Special Meatloaf which was named after me. I love this Chinese restaurant! I came here with my family for dinner last week and we had a great time. I loved each dish that we ordered from their tasty honey walnut shrimp, crisp beef and veggie dish, perfectly made fried rice and chow mein, and hot wonton soup. The food is served at a quick time but still cooked perfectly. Each dish was seasoned well and had no issues. The service here is quick and straight to the point. This is a family style restaurant where you sit in a round table with a lazy Susan on top. The price point is decent too and isn't too expensive. Tonight is my parents' anniversary and they requested yummy Chinese food, but we only recently moved here and I didn't know where to go. So I looked on Yelp and found King Wah, and noticed some of our favorite dishes on the menu and decided to go for it. YUM! So good that I forgot to take photos until we were done eating. And you can see how much food is left so you can tell how generous the portions were for four people. Okay, I also might have over ordered, but totally worth it. We got the green beans with garlic, Mongolian beef, honey walnut prawns, mushroom chicken, beef chow fun with black bean sauce, and the hk style chicken chow mein. I could smell the delectable wok hei aroma as I was driving home. Everything was delicious - the prawns were fresh, the chicken tender, the beef succulent, and the veggies were all done well. Surprisingly quiet on a Friday night. Upon entering was promptly greeted and went to the counter to order to go. It has been a while since we last ordered King Wah, mostly because it wasn't available through DoorDash, but we would always talk about needing to go back. Got our go to sesame chicken along with some chowfun and pot stickers. Was a little surprised at the $53 for the three things but rolled with it since it used to be a favorite before the pandemic. The chowfun was ounderwhelming in flavor and we ended up adding some black bean paste and chili oil to make it a little better. The sesame chicken pieces were smaller so a bit touch but the few bigger chunks were tender and tasty and the sauce was good. The potstickers were fine. We will probably go back once more in person before giving up on King Wah read more

King Wah is a family owned toi san restaurant that has been around for thirty eight years, when Sunnyvale Town Center used to be a mall with a Macy's. Their food has outlasted the conversion of downtown from decrepit to nice restaurants and bookstores. The food and service are really good with large portions for the price. We ordered the sweet and sour fish, beef and broccoli, and eggplant with ground pork. They are really accommodating to food allergies! The owner had the fish battered in corn starch instead of wheat flour. She remade the eggplant with ground pork at no additional charge because it was too spicy for me. Then she said to me, "How come you can speak Chinese but your mom can't?". I said, "My mom can read Chinese!" She said, "Oh, I didn't know your mom was Chinese." Lol. The owner has a very good memory and remembers every family member my mom comes with. I'm looking forward to finishing my leftovers. read more

Came here for take out for celebrating Chinese New Year. They are open all day from lunch to evening, so don't have to wait until 5pm to order. We called up to order the $13.95 Hong Kong pan fried noodles with seafood, and the $11.95 Mu Shu Pork. Staff in a clear voice on the other end of the line repeated the order flawlessly, and said 20 minutes. In English, as I don't understand Cantonese. 25 minutes later we finished walking from our house. Minimum credit card order $20. This place never had outside dining, as it is on Washington Ave, not on the closed off Murphy St 1 block away. Restaurants in Santa Clara county allowed indoor dining since March 17, 2020 only for 3 weeks in late September. Hazardous outdoor air from forest fire smoke hindered outdoor dining the entire summer. Order was ready, and left them a $3 tip to bring the total with tax to $31. Cooked up brown rice at home to go with the 30 ounces of cooked Mu Shu Pork, which comes with shredded cabbage, green onions, mushrooms, and an abundance of tender chopped pork, to go with the four crepes, and a side of plum sauce. Improvement over my last visit, as not nearly as salty nor soggy soaked in juice. 32 ounces of seafood in a clear broth, to go over the separate dish of pan fried noodles. Cooked to a crisp as it should be, as crunchy taste goes with the 4 bok choys, 4 shrimp, 2 squid, and 6 small scallops. Hard to replicate as a take out dish, as best eaten in restaurant straight off the frying pan. Haven't had Hong Kong pan fried noodles since the pandemic started in March, 2020, and it brought back memories of my ex. She could cook this dish on a gas stove top in a wok. This is my go-to Chinese restaurant. The food here is amazing. Well the chicken fried rice and sweet 'n sour pork is amazing; that's all I ever order. I did order the pork fried rice once but it was a little salty so go with the chicken. Both items always taste freshly made and are piping hot. And when it comes to portion size, I can easily get three meals from my order. Prices are average, my total is always $36.00 for the two items. But over three meals that's only $12.00 each, cheaper than McDonald's. But if you're looking for ambiance this might not be the best place for you. I've lived in Sunnyvale all my life and can't believe I've just eaten here. I I had Chinese food 3 days before in Vancouver and a friend visiting from the Philippines chose this restaurant to meet. I've since moved from Sunnyvale so I'm placing all my trust in you guys to keep this place open during this pandemic! Whenever we are back in town, we always make an attempt to come here. All their dishes that are fried in batter (i.e. walnut shrimp, princess chicken, Peking short ribs) are really good. There must be something in how they make their batter cause it's always the perfect level of crispiness! My all time favorite dish here is their Walnut Shrimp. Even when we've ordered take out and don't get to eat our food until 30 minutes later, the Walnut Shrimp is still perfectly crispy. My SO and I talk about the walnut shrimp here at least once a month lol! We have not been able to find a restaurant that cooks Chinese food the way they used to in the "old days," and thought to give King Wah a try to see how they cook some of our old favorites. We ordered seven dishes, two of which were disappointing the other five we thoroughly enjoyed. Tomato Beef Chow Mein: The noodles were the thick somewhat doughy kind often used as opposed to thinner noodles, the sauce was on the sweet side and there was a lot of it so the dish was kind of gooey in mouth feel. We prefer chow mein, including tomato beef chow mein, to be a bit drier and less doughy. Beef Chow Fun with greens: The chow fun was also a disappointment, as it was cooked with gravy, veggies, and beef poured on top. We didn't realize it wouldn't be stir-fried dry. The chow fun noodles were also too soft, and that might have been due to the way fun noodles with gravy on them is cooked. We'll try the chow fun again, but ask how it is cooked before ordering. Steamed pork hash with salted fish: This had egg in it, a surprise because we had not had it that way before. It was delicious, and all of the flavors were balanced just right. Law Hon Chai is a vegetarian dish and had a nice variety of tender crisp vegetables plus fried tofu. The Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce was delicious! We usually see it served with oyster sauce, which is heavier and saltier than the garlic sauce. We couldn't get enough of it. Crispy, crunchy, with a light tasting sauce. Yes! Mapo tofu was very tasty with a nice amount of pork. Wonderful on a mound of steamed white rice. The brisket of beef in clay pot was also very good. This came with fried tofu as opposed to the daikon radish or turnip and carrots that we have seen in it before. None of the dishes we ordered were too oily or too salty, a nice surprise. The young woman who took our order was very pleasant and helpful. When we discovered that one of the things we wanted to order wasn't available, she made a great suggestion to replace it. We are glad to be able to have a place close by to order Cantonese food from, and will look forward to working our way down their extensive menu. read more

The sauce for the Chow Mein was in a separate container so the noodles would not get soggy on the trip home. The chow mein noodles were freshly pan fried; glistening with oil and crunchy good. The sauce had the tender slices of beef and bok choy. The Chow Fun had tender slices of beef, bell pepper, onion, black bean and jalapeno for a little heat. The Chow Fun was very good and the Chow Mein was excellent. The Chow Mein was on my higher end of rating, so a definite repeat for the Chow Mein. read more
