You do what you have to do when you can't find good pho in Bloomington. So I come here every chance I get when I'm in or near Columbus. We has a group of 7 people and no one complained about anything, and trust me, when I say that there were two big pho snobs in the group.

Celebrated a late birthday lunch for my son. He chose Pho Shiki in Columbus, Indiana. We have been there several times and agreed to his selection. I almost always get the Rare beef Pho as my entree. It remains one of my favorites right behind Number 1 Eggroll in Beech Grove, Indiana. The ingredients are always the freshest possible. We had two appetizers and two sushi rolls. The appetizers and entrees were very satisfying and delicious. The sushi is something I would not order again. Not bad but presentation was sloppy and taste was average. The entrees were all sensational. Service was awkward. The waitress that started with us and got our drinks was allowed to leave early. And it took a lapse in time before the person who allowed her to leave early, notified another server that we needed help. THIS ONLY OCCURRED AFTER A WAITRESS NOTICED MY LOOK OF DESPAIR AND INQUIRED. That server did an amazing job filling the gap. The management is weak as evidenced by the unprofessional communication between employees in ear shot of diners. Bottom line: Food great, Service ok, management and atmosphere is lacking.

I was hoping to like this place a lot more than I did. You walk in, and there were boxes stacked everywhere. The place was not clean. I ordered the small pho. It was a very nice size for small. The broth was good and the vegetables were fresh. Where I had an issue was the shrimp. They were not deveined. I had to devein my shrimp before I put them into the broth. This was my first experience of a restaurant not serving deveined shrimp. The reason for the three star was the broth was tasty, and the service was quick.

I got the well done, beef pho. My husband got the shrimp one. We both loved it!! Added a lot of sriracha to mine I love they they have them at the tables. The service was great! All the servers kind of work together and tag team so service is super good. And the speed of getting the food was very fast. It's not too loud in there and we were there during lunch time so I was pleased about that. My husband said he wants to go back again very soon and I agree!

We love coming here for their huge menu as everything we have ever tried is absolutely delicious! You also get a good value for your dollar here! Have you ever tried Vietnamese Vermicelli? It is also known as "Bun", this fresh dish is served with different ingredients and a side of fish sauce. I highly recommend the shrimp! Never tried fish sauce? I was disapppinted in this restaurant. I was hoping for great pho, being one of the few asian restaurants in Columbus. However, the food was not very fresh. My Viet iced coffee tasted like it was regular coffee moxed with some condensed milk, no strong Viet coffee flavor I had hoped for. Usually not a big deal but in aggregate with everything else it added to the negative revoew. The fried spring rolls were overly burnt which I'm guessing is from being frozen and refried. The veggies I got were old and not fresh (cucumber was not crunchy, and the pickled veggies were very old). What was presented as agedashi tofu was just some thinly fried tofu topped with sesame seeds and a side of chili sauce, instead of the traditional tsuyu sauce. Nothing close to what is considered agedashi tofu. The last thing negative thing i noticed was the beansprouts for my pho was black on the ends and again, not fresh. Perhaps it is inaccessability of fresh asian ingredients nearby but these things all negatively impacted my review. I did not try it but I was told the sushi was good by the people I ate with.

Service has gone down beyond belief. I hate to see this restaurant with great food the way it is. Workers don't know how to manage the influx of people coming in and out. There have been various times where we arrive about 30 min before close and they tell us we can't be served but we can do take out. Makes no sense. I really enjoyed the food here. Hopefully they can get their service back to the way it used to be....

My friends and I agreed that for a pho place in a "middle of nowhere" (we live in L.A. so we have access to unlimited Asian food. We have tasted some of the best pho there), this place was BOMB and impressive. We had a spring roll with warm peanut sauce for appetizer. It was very good. This dish had our nods. Then we had the meat combination pho with raw egg and grilled pork with rice. The pho soup was very flavorful and the meat was good. The grilled pork with rice tasted similar to the ones in L.A. and it did not disappoint. Amazing overall.

If you are looking for delicious PHO or a restaurant that just can't seem to serve a meal that doesn't taste amazing, look no further. Seriously though, I'm blown away every time I come here and am grateful we have it here in Indiana. The crab rangoon here, I exaggerate not, may be the best on the planet. Okay, at least the best I've ever had. It's THAT good. Crunchy, warm, and bursting with flavor. The PHO is refreshing, fresh-tasting, with wow flavors and fast preparation. I personally like my decorated with jalapeños and with extra beef. The salmon sashimi is also shockingly fresh and tasty. Their sushi overall is top-tier and their sashimi is no exception. In short, the journey is over. This is the PHO place you've been looking for. The sushi place. And the Asian cuisine place. If you haven't had it yet, be ready to get wowed. Because yes, it is that good.

Everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the Thai iced tea, which was more like a dessert sweet tea. I also got sushi and the beef pho, both of which were wonderful. The service was great and very friendly. They also have fried ice cream, which I didn't have room for, unfortunately. I really enjoyed eating here and I can't wait to visit again. read more

How do you serve pho without a side of basil? The side dish had less than a handful of bean sprouts, two slices of jalapeño and no basil. Wanted so bad to love this place but I was truly disappointed at the lack of thought and craft in the pho. I mean, they used pho in their name, so I was expecting some legit pho. read more

I've eaten here over the last 4-6 weeks getting the rare beef pho and it's really improved from when I first got it. Originally the beef pho was too oily, and salty. Always order to go, noodles are similar to a sticky rice, everything fresh, sushi decent, spring rolls were tight. This place has really gotten the pho down, I order it every time I break my 24hr fast and no problems. I'm going to expand out again and see if the rest has improved. You go pho. read more

I'm from out of town and was looking for a good Pho place! This place was so good it made me stop there twice so far! The sushi was delicious as well and the staff is super nice and attentive! The hibachi plates looked kinda small but we're delicious! The miso soup was also a good choice! Definitely worth a stop by! read more

Pho Shiki has the best sushi in Columbus hands down. The Pho Shiki roll and Mt. Fuji rolls are amazing. The entire sushi menu is delicious, from their California rolls all the way up to specialty rolls and everything in between. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well, and are always willing to make suggestions or advise. We are lucky to have several quality Japanese restaurants around, but Pho Shiki is the king. read more

The service was good, but the sushi was mediocre. I'm not sure the salmon was actually sushi grade...I sent my roll back and they explained that it was actually the best piece they had. So they remade it with a lesser piece which didn't actually make it better though I appreciated the gesture. read more

This is probably the Asian restaurant I've been to the most in columbus so far. The wait staff is always pleasant and attentive and food comes quickly and hot! I usually get teriyaki chicken with steamed rice. Very good. Occasionally I'll get the salmon which is a bit hit or miss, it can be dry and flavorless but on the good days it's really good. Their party room is free to rent as long as people order food which is awesome! I've hosted many parties there and attended more! I'm not a big sushi eater but I've heard nothing but positive things about what they offer. I have only been to the bathroom a few times while there (as I said service is pretty prompt, it's easy to get in and out) but when I did I remember them being acceptable. The dining area is usually pretty clean, sometimes I've had to ask for a table to be rewiped but I have a toddler who tries to eat off of the table so I may be extra picky. Overall, it is a very relaxed and pleasant experience, it isn't world shattering but it's good food for a reasonable price and that's enough for me! read more

My husband I ate at this restaurant twice already and enjoyed the food and service. The rice noodle soup and sushi are excellent. We even tried their house special desert and bean coconut milk desert. I also liked the rice paper spring rolls. I recommend this restaurant! read more

We were a group of four. I had a regular #1, my friends got a regular #2, a regular chicken Pho (I don't remember the number), and a #26. We also ordered the Crab Rangoon - which was delish. I can only speak for the #1, it was good and I'd go back, but nothing to write home about. read more

You wouldn't think you would be able to find good sushi in Indiana, but this is literally the best sushi bar I've ever been to -- anywhere. They offer anything from your basic rolls (California, Philly, etc.) to very exotic rolls. The hibachi is also worth getting. Tilapia is really good!! Great seasoning! read more

Best Pho I've had in Indiana so far - and I've been to almost all of the spots in Indianapolis. The broth was full of flavor there as a nice sized portion of rare beef. I definitely plan business calls in the area to be able to come back here. read more

I come to Columbus, IN, several times a month and frequently get pho at Pho Shiki. A good pho is totally dependent on its broth made from slow simmering beef bones. This place uses broth now made from water, chicken seasoning and a mix of aromatic spices....no depth of flavor for a proper broth. I will no longer patronize this sham of Vietnamese soup.... done! No more Pho Shiki. I will now patronize El Napole for chicken tortilla soup and Thai Connection for Tom Yum soup when in this town. Pho Shiki sucks!!! read more

Very poor service!!! I waited for an hour for a California sushi roll and a house salad. Others who arrived after me were served large meals while I still waited for my simple lunch. When I asked about the status of my order my salad was brought out which was just lettuce and dressing, missing the other ingredients. Those with Cummins ID badges received preferential treatment. If you don't have a Cummins ID badge, don't go here, you won't be served. read more

This place is truly enjoyable! I ordered the regular size beef pho and was very happy with my choice. The portions are large, and you can tell they pay attention to detail. We did not receive bad service as some of the other reviewers have noted. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. Our food was served in a reasonable amount of time and drinks were refilled when low. I really enjoyed this place and will definately be returning! read more

I'm Vietnamese & enjoy cooking home made dishes, but some times it's nice to go out & enjoy some one elses cooking. Although I can make pho at home, there isn't much of a choice for asian grocery stores close by so I don't make pho as often as I'd like. We found this restaurant & thought we'd give it a try. We ordered Pho & some sushi (tuna & yellow tail). The pho broth was very oily, barely any noodles, & would have been nice to have had some thai basil along side the beansprouts & jalapenos. We had to order an extra side of rice noodles to add to our soup. As far as the sushi, never seen sushi served so minimal. Had to ask that there be no mayo in the sushi. Just not what sushi should be, disappointed. It was like they made it for a kindergarten class. The rolls were so little. If you know what pho & sushi should look & taste like, this is NOT the place to eat. Over priced compared to others & service was ok. read more

Wow. I grew up in Yorba Linda / Fullerton, CA so I grew up eating alot of pho. I have also lived in Denver and KCMO and I have to say, this is the best pho I've had since moving from the West Coast. Which was a surprise to say the least! In little Columbus, IN. I'm so glad we stumbled on this gem while here to shoot a wedding!! I talked to the owner and he is from Wesminster, CA (a Vietnamese hub not too far from Fullerton) and his dad has been doing this for 30 years! I got the combo bun and and my husband got the combo pho. Unbelievably good. Fresh. Balanced. Delicious. Hands down the best pho in the Midwest. read more

It was the best Pho I've had in Indiana. The large portion is enormous, I couldn't finish it! My husband had the Grilled Beef Banh Mi sandwich. If you've never had a Banh sandwich, you don't know what you're missing. The beef was tender, the bread toasty and so many great flavors. This locally operated cafe is cozy with ten small tables. They do a robust carry out and in house service. The place fills up at lunch time. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall lot. The single restroom is clean and tidy. I highly recommend! Easy 5 Stars!

RHS bills itself as 'Vietnamese Fusion' and I have no idea what that might mean, but it was good. Very good. We went on a cold day, so eating on the outside deck wasn't an option. The interior is a basic strip mall location with a decent number of tables and plenty of seating, albeit a bit cramped. It's counter service, so it pays to take a look at the menu in advance and know what you want before you arrive. Paid at the counter, and they came to our table with the food very quickly. I had the 'Be Kind to Each Other' Chicken Pho which came with the usual sides of sprouts, basil, lime and noodles. You could upgrade your noodles if you wanted. I also added an order of cajun fries, which doesn't really seem like a 'Vietnamese Fusion' choice, but I love cajun fries so who was I to question them? The Pho was terrific. Loved it. The fries were very very good, though maybe a bit generous on the cajun. Still very good, and I definitely will return for this meal again. Friend ordered the Spam Banh Mi. Seriously???? Well, he did. And he said it was very good. You actually pay $0.50 extra for spam. Again, not sure what world you pay extra for the Spam but he did it. He selected the Fire Engine Tim sauce, which was to be spicy. When I pressed him for more details on the quality he said it could be spicier even with that sauce, but otherwise it was very good. The egg roll was excellent, and my husband said the egg foo young was the best he's ever had, which is quite the compliment since he orders it regularly. My cashew chicken was very good, and the fried rice was decent. I also noticed that many people were enjoying the pho; it looked amazing. You order at the counter, and they bring your food to you. However, it is very noisy, so if you prefer a quiet dining experience, this place may not be for you.

Louisville's restaurant scene is vibrant and broad but it falls short on eastern European cuisines -- for whatever reason it never had the influx of immigrants that you see in cities like Chicago or Cleveland. And Olesya's seems to make some beautiful old world recipes at very affordable prices, serving it up with a casual atmosphere. I have a hard time not getting dumplings if they are on offer, but we decided to forego the dumplings on our most recent visit only because we knew that we'd also be happy with anything stewed. The stroganoff is great, as are the cabbage rolls, and we really enjoyed eating the vegetable stew alongside the pickle plate. One of these days we'll actually try one of the desserts but in the meantime I'm happy just to load up on items from the main menu. And maybe take home some frozen dumplings while I'm at it.

Seriously the best sushi in town! I had a co-worker make me try sushi for the first time after he couldn't finish the rest of his. I had never had sushi before and really didn't think I'd like it. Well, I can't even tell you how great it was! So great that I had sushi for lunch for the next 4 days in a row! It's a good thing that my first taste of Sushi was from Pho Shiki because they set the bar high for me! Very, very good! I can't wait to try everything on the menu when I'm back in town and seriously, if you are looking for a great sushi place, look no further. Stop in, eat in, dine out, do it.
